1627 W Main St, Richmond, VA 23220, United States
Family owned & operated since 2012. Seasonal menu offering local, responsibly grown produce, craft cocktails and warm service.
Fantastic experience! Wonderful tasting menu really extensive and tasty with a lot of tradition and innovation. All and all an amazing experience
Our experience at Heritage Richmond far exceeded our expectations! The service staff was above and beyond what you typically encounter at any other restaurant. They move like a well oiled machine and are always one step ahead. You can tell that the Chef loves his craft and you can see it come through on every plate that comes out of his kitchen. All of the dishes we ordered were perfection and kept you wanting more with every bite. The environment of the restaurant was amazing. You can tell alot about how much the staff cares about your experience here. The fact that they take the time to hand roll cloth towels in the bathroom shows how dedicated this restaurant is to the hospitality industry. I will forever recommend Heritage to all of my friends and family. I can't wait to come back and see what brilliant ideas the Chef comes up with next
The food here is excellent! The chef does a great job of aesthetically presenting the food as well as combining ingredients in a way that you'll end up eating food that you normally don't like. Even though I've given Heritage five stars, I found the place to be a bit tightly packed and the service was ok.
Excellent meal. The tuna sashimi appetizer was quite special. A wonderful mix of flavors and textures - tart, smoky, salty with a bit of crunch. Perfect for a warm summer day. Sichuan duck was perfectly cooked. Very ginger forward, which I liked. Tasty Sichuan sauce. Liked the veggie accompaniments. Homemade ‘ice cream sandwich’ was outstanding. I mean like James Beard winning / 2 Michelin star awesome. A somewhat eclectic mix of orange, pistachio and sweet cream flavors that just harmonized and worked. I could eat this every night. My cocktail was outstanding. Loved the selection of whiskeys and bourbons. Friendly and attentive service. Excellent bang for the buck - important in today’s inflationary environment. Highly recommended!
We went for a party of 11 and the restaurant was prepared for our gathering (there was a reservation made well in advance). The food was absolutely worth the price and the limited menu gives chefs the ability to focus on quality ingredients and easily changing the menu. The staff were excellent and helpful in every way. The kitchen definitely did a great job keeping up with 11 orders, my dairy restriction, and a friend's nut allergy. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for something different and high quality.
Pre set menu still with plenty of choices. All of the courses were delicious and very generous in sizes. In retrospect could’ve gone without the fried green tomatoes, still tasty but a little too much breading for my taste. My favorite was the Tuna Tartar and Mallard Duck.
Outstanding! Awesome cocktails, curated by the bar manager, and the food was so good! Gotta get a reservation, but if you have a small party there is a good chance that you can get bar seating. Currently doing a prix fix menu. The black garlic pasta was amazing, and for desert get the candy bar.
The booth by the door, next to the front windows are a tight fit. They have maximized their space with tables and seating for guest. So if it's a full house it will feel like a full house. This placed seems to be very popular. You are treated like a VIP once you step inside. Our server was excellent. She knew the entire menu & drinks menu. The drink she suggested was delicious. In fact I had 2 of them🍹 Loved the specialty names for their signature drinks. The food was great. The portions filled me up. Very very nice place for an evening with friends or family. Staff seem to work well together. It was all smiles from everyone. Totally enjoyed my visit and would recommend stopping in.
After all these years, still one of our favorites. Seriously delicious and you better save room for dessert.
Incredible food and atmosphere. Free high quality period products in the bathrooms. Welcoming space for all
Fantastic meal! I had curried spaetzel with capers and raisins that introduced me to flavors I had never experienced before!
Great night with girlfriends!
Wonderful experience from beginning to end. Dinner and desserts were delicious! You will not be disappointed.
One of my absolute favorite restaurants. The menu rotates frequently and theres always something new and amazing to try.
Really enjoyable date night. Was an early dinner but when we left the place was filling up for more traditional dinner service. Smaller menu was enjoyable and approachable
The atmosphere, service, and cocktails were all excellent. The tuna appetizer with watermelon ice was unique and refreshing. My duck entrée was a perfectly prepared. This is definitely a restaurant you should have on your list.
Great place for casual dining with elegant eats.
Great atmosphere and fantastic service. The food was good, but nothing was outstanding.
Great location, food was excellent and cocktails were unique. Would definitely come back!
Y ye ye hugging
It was a private event but the staff were wonderful.
Great place, food was incredible; I had the duck with foie gras. Pricey but worth every penny. Food
Dinner here never disappoints. A great overall dining experience with wonderful service.
Hidden gem in Richmond! The courses had depth of flavor, the team was so kind and genuine, and the location is dreamy. The perfect date night option!
Very good food. Nice service and comfortable. We go there again.
Schnitzel was small and not crispy. Szechuan duck was good, but plate was drowning in sauce. Drinks were very syrupy and not worth the price Food
We had a bumpy start as no one was assigned as a server to our table, but Mark, our server, made up for the confusion. We had the duck, which were slices of moist duck served with the most tender mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, and a delicious broccoli and rice fritter. The lemon tart was light, not a heavy lemon curd. The tart had caramelized lemon wedges with a slightly toasted creme finish. Even though this establishment is relatively small, the ambiance was cozy with warm paintings and just the right amount of lighting to be able to see what you are eating, but soft enough to be romantic.
really great food. fine-dining feel. its a fairly small place, so keep in mind you may need a reservation Kid-friendliness: I wouldnt recommend bringing children
Amazing experience!
I ate here with a good friend of mine and the atmosphere was very nice, we got a wonderful booth next to the window and they work on a reservation system so heads up on that! The food overall was pretty good, my friend is a big fan of their broccoli but for me nothing stood out to me. Its a very Richmond hipster restaurant with taking elements from different cultures but with their own twist. The dessert however was great and the staff is wonderful so it makes me sad to see disrespectful costumers.
Food and service were excellent, had a great experience overall. Definitely will come back!
Everything was wonderful from the staff to the food! There is nothing negative I can say about this place. Parking: Had to find a place to parallel park on the side of the street and then walk.
I ordered a tip of the tongue for my starter drink. For my courses:1. duck leg, 2: short rib, 3 candybar with a Candymaker peanut butter milk stout. Amazing food, amazing service. The very best experience I have Had in RVA. Thank you. Everything was perfect. The duck was succulent, the short rib fell apart perfectly, and the deconstructed Candybar was out of this world. Mark was perfect with the suggestions, and the kitchen was perfect with the course timing. All around amazing. I cannot Thank y all enough.
Atmosphere is nice and service was good. Food was above average. Issue I had was the pricing. There is only one option for a menu with fixed pricing starting at $65/person. We don t eat dessert but stuck paying for it. Way way over priced for the quality. Two dinners, two glasses of house wine and a house cocktail with tip was $250. Taste and quality would have been equivalent to a dinner that all in for two should have cost a max of $120.
I walked in here blind. Fixed menu, 3 option each, 70 per person. I dont know if its always fixed Food : 5/5
Great food, quick service. Very tasty options.
Food is still fantastic, but I much preferred the experience before they moved to the prix fixe model. I would love to be able to go there and not be required to pay for an appetizer or dessert, but unless you sit at the bar (which I do like to do) you have to get all three. Again, the food is top notch and the service is excellent, I just preferred it when it was a la carte.
We ordered nearly everything off the menu. All perfectly prepared and delicious. Service was on point and a surprisingly phenomenal wine selection. Our favorites for each course were the cheese plate, the skirt steak, and the candy bar dessert.
Always amazing food and great service
Very very slow service...food was ok not great. My entree duck was cold probably sat at the kitchen waiting for someone to serve.
3 stars for atmosphere because it was very , very noisy. Could not have good conversations Food and service was excellent. Food
Ely was great. The food recommendations were spot on and the wine/cocktail options are varied
We hadnt visited Heritage in years but headed back last night to see what theyve been up to. Wow. INCREDIBLE cocktails, wine, food, and service. We ordered the fried oysters which the chef made gluten free for me and they were so amazingly melt-in-your-mouth delicious. We also had the cheeseboard with foie gras, the rockfish, the ribeye, and a couple of handcrafted drinks that were wonderfully unique (mine was called Enter The Void). Everything we tried was truly delectable and the flavors/textures were 100% spot on with excellent wine pairings. One of the best meals weve had in awhile. Next time we will save room for dessert! I believe our servers name was Casey- she was outstanding. We will be back for sure.
We are a party of 3 travellers from Sydney Australia who eat out frequently. We dined at The Heritage on Thursday 13 July 2023. The food was FABULOUS, the service equally so! The chef, Joe was extremely generous to us and brought us dishes to try. In summary, American hospitality and generosity at its finest. GO-Try this wonderful restaurant!
One of our favorite restaurants. Love the cocktails. I have always been blown away by the appetizers and entrees but the desserts this time were to die for. Oh and the staff is great
Charming, intimate atmosphere, unique, adventurous menu. Designer apps and deserts. Highly recommended.
Very interesting menu, delicious!
Food is definitely good but I didn t feel like it was worth it, as both our entrees were nothing amazing. Service was top-notch and quick! Dropping a star for the drinks. Cocktail menu was just trying to do too much, we felt like we were eating a different meal instead of the drinks accompanying the food.
Best restaurant in town
Best service and friendly stuff.
One of the best restaurants in Richmond. Delicious food and great service.
I had been wanting to try Heritage for a while. I finally went with a friend for softshell crabs back in early summer and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Then came with my foodie cousin when he visited me in July. Once again everything was terrific. Because of my good experiences I held my birthday dinner here a few weeks ago. Party of ten. Reserved about a month in advance. Consulted with staff week of the party to know what would be on the menu. Pre-ordered a variety of starters for the table to share since appetizer discussion and decisions always seems to be a hang up. Then guests picked their entrees and desserts. All the food was great as well as the service. Everyone left happy and are still commenting about the great evening. I will definitely be dining here again and recommending it to others.
Really enjoyed our visit! I always love a snack section on a menu and all of the dishes were well done. Will be back!
Maybe an off night, but the duck was pretty underwhelming. Dry and not much sauce or seasoning. Same goes for the veg and rice that came with it. At nearly 40 dollars for the entree there are other restaurants in Richmond with better quality and value.
This is a wanna be fine dining restaurant with high prices and quite lackluster food. So have your expectations low! I gave 3 star just because our waiter was a nice guy and quite attentive otherwise 1 star would be my true rating.
Took a party of six there last night- loved it! We shared the pimento croquettes, brussel sprouts and smoked fish apps 10/10- and the szechuan duck, Scottish salmon and braised short rib pasta for dinner- all incredibly delicious including beautiful presentation and cooked perfectly. Oh and the desserts! Get the candy bar, just do it. The drink menu is generous and creative. Beware of the giant rectangular ice in the old fashions, they will bonk you in the nose but delicious nonetheless. Our server Eli was charming, knowledgeable and all around a delight. It was a very welcoming atmosphere and the folks working there seemed to enjoy what they do. It was nice and quiet for our early dinner and bumping by the time we headed out.
Our party of 6 had a good time at Heritage. They were very welcoming and the cocktails and appetizers were very good. They have a limited selection of entrees, and that made it difficult for me at least. The short rib pasta I did get was okay but not great. There were mixed reactions among the rest of our group about the entrees we had. Parking is the usual city-type hassle, but thats unavoidable.
Very nice experience
The best meal we have had in a while. Casey was super as a server and made our experience memorable
Everything was delicious! We had a few appetizers, and I had the pork chop entree which was very tasty. We also had some really good drinks. The service was excellent as well. Great restaurant and experience!
It was very good; however, I personally didnt feel like it was worth the prices paid.
I had tuna tartar and the duck over risotto. Incredible.
The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. They handled my wifes allergy very well.
So glad they are back open.
What a lovely bar and cafe. The staff is expert and friendly and the food is superb. The menu changes regularly, but the trout was the tops!
Deliciously fresh, delightful ambience, charming service and top shelf cocktails.
I loved the atmosphere, customer service and alcoholic drinks! If we re paying $75 per person, please do not serve water from the tap, it was gross. The tuna tartare was amazing but the crispy pork wasn t crispy. It was dry, bland, and just overall unpleasant. The flavor pairing for this plate was a bit strange as well with the potato salad and ginger whatever on the side. I still gave a $50 tip but I will not recommend and definitely will not return. Almost forgot I tasted my wife s fried broccoli and it was meh (okay). It goes from meh to really good when you add the sauce. But a smear of sauce will not cover the serving that s given so back to being meh. Her steak was also dry and flavorless.
Food was really nice . It s very close to 5 star food no question. Cocktails were 3 star . Phenomenal duck breast. Perfect tuna tartare. Great desserts.
Excellent food and good atmosphere.
FLAVOR! From the first bite of the first dish, to the I wish this wasnt the last bite of the last dish. Flavors working so well together, every bite was so much fun! Thank you to everyone working last night making sure it was an experience not like others.
Fantastic experience at Heritage! Great, unique cocktail selections. The tuna crudo was wonderful as well as the Heirloom Tomato salad. My ribeye was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Excellent, friendly service. We will definitely be back!
Great menu and staff. Eight of us and every course was perfectly prepared. Figs, peaches, and candied walnuts salad for course 1 was my favorite.
The food was incredible. The staff always checked to see if we were good. Duck mussels steak wow. Thank you
We hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner here for 65 people. The guests (as did I) raved about the atmosphere, the quality of food and portions, as well as the superb staff. Emelia and the crew made this a hugely memorable event. I cant fully express how appreciative we are, and what a value Heritage delivered for our investment.
Amazing food and cocktails.
Incredible...Chef is 5-star....must go....no more needs to be said.
Went there for my husband s birthday with our two kids. It was quite an experience for my children to taste freshly prepared gourmet meal and experience five stars service. Food was well crafted but not memorable. Appetizer size was small. Our waitress was extremely attractive and professional. Make sure you make reservation ahead of time. The restaurant fill up very quickly with dinner crowd.
Great cocktails and food. Prix fixe menu (for now?), but a decent variety for those with pickier palates and the option to order additional course 1 dishes for shared appetizers.
Tuna tartare. Such a no brainer app, but boy did they nail it! Had it as said and then for my main .and one more. Enough said..:-)
Top 10 in Richmond for a long time.
Impeccable food and great service in a lovely venue.
I love this place so much incredible care taken food, beverages and service. They do it all.
Always amazing!
Great food and incredible cocktails. It sounds crazy, but the fried broccoli is amazing. Good mix of flavors and inspirations across the menu. Changes with the seasons. Always a good idea.
Absolutely a great place to eat. The food, the views, the service !! Our 4th time in 3 months. So cool.
The food was outstanding. If you havent tried the roasted chicken, you should! The service left a little to be desired, but the food was fabulous.
Bustling metro restaurant with tasty entrees and fun cocktail selections
Adventurous menu (halibut, foie gras). Attentive service. Very popular. Noisy.
Great menu variety, always changing so if you dont like it one month you can come another time and have something completely different
Our first visit to Heritage was for brunch today. Every mouthful was amazing, and service was excellent. We shall return the next time we are in Richmond. By all means, go to Heritage if you can get in!!
One of the most professional and friendly bar and waitstaff I ve encountered anywhere. Chef Joe is always cooking up fantastic food and the cocktail menu is always fresh. They also have a pretty good bourbon selection with new additions all the time.
Great vibe, lovely wine list, and tasty food.
Heritage Restaurant is a very nice, stylish, New American restaurant on Richmond s Main Street. It s very crowded on Saturdays, so either have a reservation or be willing to wait an hour for walk-in seating - that s what we did. There s plenty to do to keep yourself occupied on Main St for an hour. Cocktails seem to be a big thing here. I almost got one, but chose an Oxbow Surfer Rossa blood orange farmhouse ale at the last minute. My partner had the Cosmic Answer and liked it quite a bit. No wine, since we d already had drinks before dining, but there was a decent list. There aren t too many vegetarian dishes listed on the menu, but the chef is willing to make some changes. We started with fried broccoli and a local mixed greens salad. The salad was good. Nothing spectacular - there s only so much you can do with mixed greens - but still satisfying. The fried broccoli, on the other hand, was spectacular. My partner, who HATES broccoli, loved it. The broccoli is fried very lightly, with a bit of char but no batter or anything like that. The broccoli itself is soft, without the normal crunch you get from broccoli, but the frying gives it a little crunch on the outside. Very good! This was probably the best dish. For main courses, we got the burger and the housemade kale gemelli pasta. I was surprised to see a burger on the menu, but it s a big draw, and optionally made with an Impossible Burger. They can even make it fully vegan, with vegan cheese and a different bun, but we like real cheddar cheese and brioche buns, so we had it with those. It s a very good, and big, burger, with lots of fries. The only possible complaint is that it was too big and filling! The pasta was pretty interesting, with a lot of different ingredients, on par with but not better than the better DC pasta joints. To wrap things up, we had a very rich chocolate bar with Nutella ice cream. I don t usually like desserts that sweet, but I really enjoyed this. I was pretty full by then, though. The service was really good all around, from the seating to the waitress. We followed her recommendations on the broccoli among other things, and she didn t steer us wrong.
Food was phenomenal. It s very close to 5 star food no question. Cocktails were 5 star as well. Phenomenal duck breast. Perfect tuna tartare. Great desserts. Why I m only going 4 stars though. Reservation was for 6:15, actual seating was 6:45. The dessert course got lost and ended up about 30 minutes between main and dessert. And lastly tuna steak was cooked medium well. It was still super tasty, but that s too much for tuna.
Good food and drinks!
My husband and I booked Heritage for our rehearsal dinner the night before our wedding, and it was some of the best food, service, and ambiance weve ever had. We had about 60 people in the restaurant, which was the perfect number...full but not crowded. Emilia and all of the staff were so wonderful to work with for every part of the process, they made it easy and stress-free! Every single guest loved the fabulous food and specialty cocktails, we got so many compliments about this restaurant. Many guests said they would want to come back to Richmond just to eat here. My husband and I will be lifelong fans of Heritage, it honestly could not have been a better experience! Thank you for your wonderful work!
Excellent place to get a great meal. I ordered the burger and it was one of the best Ive had recently. The appetizers were a little small, especially to share, but they all tasted great.
Best cocktail
My absolute favorite restaurant. The Chef, cocktail program, management, servers, atmosphere and food are all incredible. I ve never had a bad or mediocre experience here.
I love this restaurant and am always interested in eating here. The best food, friendliest wait-staff, amazing cocktails.
Sunday Brunch. Cocktails: -/5 Excellent. I had a bloody mary, which I personally wasnt a huge fan of. However, my fiance and my friend both got cocktails which they said they enjoyed. I have no doubt their cocktails are well done. So I wont comment on their cocktails until I give them a 2nd try. Food: 5/5 - Fantastic Fantastic. Pancakes. Dont get me wrong, the ham hash was good as well. But... I have been looking for a quality pancake for over a year. I tried looking for pancakes at local restaurants, chain restaurants, and even making them at home (both from scratch and from a mix). I couldnt find a pancake to satisfy my craving until I came to Heritage. Their pancakes are wonderful, fluffy pillows of heaven served on a plate with a sweet and creamy honey butter and maple syrup. For me, the pancake is the foundation of a pancake breakfast. No amount of butter or maple syrup make up for a poorly made pancake foundation, and Heritage pancakes did not disappoint. It is worth getting a side order, regardless of whatever else you order. The hash: Potatoes were perfectly crispy and salty, but soft on the inside. Im of the opinion that a perfectly crisp and salted potato is hard to come by, and Heritage does a perfect job. To add to that, the hollandaise sauce was wonderfully creamy and the eggs were perfectly poached. Just some moderate pressure with the blunt edge of my fork rewarded me with the golden waterfall of egg yolk onto my mixture of crisp potatoes and ham. Every bite tasted perfectly seasoned with the hollandaise sauce, the saltiness of the ham and potatoes. Meat and potatoes is incredibly filling. I could only eat maybe 25% of my hash. You wont be leaving this restaurant dissatisfied. Bring a hungry stomach. Service: 5/5 - Polite and Attentive I used to poo-poo the need for good service since I tend be very tolerant of good/bad/mediocre service. (Bad service means good food! I used to say). However, Ive changed my viewpoint on this. Heritage had wonderful service. Our waiter was kind, patient, and available. He did a good job of ensuring we were cared for without being overburdening. Our waters were filled at appropriate intervals, our wait times were low, and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the offerings. He had the entire beer selection memorized. I was very impressed. We had a lovely experience and our waiter was a critical part of our pleasant meal. Atmosphere 5/5 - Clean, Modern, Elegant Clean, earthy, well-lit. It is a very family-friendly atmosphere. There are beautiful, modern paintings on the walls. The bar and other furnishings are made of a dark wood. It is an elegant and modern establishment. Price: 5/5 - Worth the money Considering the fare and quality of service, brunch is fairly affordable. They had a limited menu when we visited the restaurant, which ranged between $12-$18. Cocktails are in the $10 range. Their dinner menu, which I have yet to try, is more expensive. Overall: 5/5 - Absolutely worth trying. I will absolutely be coming to this restaurant again and trying their dinner options. Brunch was a big win. It is somewhere I consider bringing out of town visitors for an enjoyable meal, or on a date.
Wow .a favorite. Try the duck hash for brunch
Great staff, great food! We were there for a private event that reserved the whole restaurant but despite the large group size, the food was hot , well prepared and served at each table at the same time. They were open to adjusting for food allergies as each meal is prepared to order. I was amazed at how efficient they were in handling a group that filled them to maximum capacity and all on the same schedule. If they did that great during a challenging event, I cant wait to come back again.
Food is beautifully presented, creative and very good. Service was excellent. I thought the appetizers and desserts were small and overpriced.
Joe and the team at Heritage treated us so well. We asked Joe to host a group of students in recovery for an end of year dinner. Joe created a delicious tasting menu including a menu of alcohol free drinks that were delicious and the staff was incredible in addressing food allergies and creating an awesome atmosphere. Several of our students had never eaten at a restaurant this nice and were blown away by the experience. Joe continues to not only be a tremendous chef and professional but gives back to the community (especially the recovery community) in wonderful ways.
A Richmond restaurant with serious chops. The tuna tartar is delightfully complex with a different experience in every bite. One of my favorite plates in town. Even the crackers were fantastic! I also had the impossible burger with cheddar cheese instead of the regular vegan cheese. The meat did not disappoint and lived up to the name. The service was warm, knowledgeable, and fully attentive without being even remotely intrusive. Finally, we noticed one of the owners of Tomten Farms at the restaurant conversing with the chef. It is gratifying to not only support a local restaurant, but to know that you are also supporting other local businesses, too. Well done Heritage, we shall return.
Great drinks and friendly bartenders!
The place was full but the four of us could still carry on a conversation. Our waiter, Cate, was great. Best of all was the food! Wife had the soft shell crab and enjoyed it. My monk fish was even better than the rock fish we had shared our first time here. Fried broccoli is a must have. This is our most favorite restaurant in Richmond - more enjoyable than the famous hotel.
Our bartender was great, very knowledgeable and personal! Thanks for a great brunch! Try the Duck Hash!!
The service here can t be beat. We ve never had a bad experience or a bad bite to eat. The food is incredible and the drinks are even better.
Great food great service love the atmosphere
Trendy, but food marginally ok. Drinks clever enough. Better to have zeal and panache in the kitchen than on the floor. Service was friendly and sincere.
Haven t been in a while and after tonight I m sorry that it s been so long since my last visit. The duck breast and tuna tartare dishes were exceptional, but everything we had was delicious. Highly recommend this Richmond staple, and I won t be waiting as long as I did last time to come back.
One of the best American Cuisine in town, I love everything in this place food people and service. Worth every penny.
Arrived a few minutes early for our 7:30 reservation and our table was waiting for us. Off to a good start. Our wait person, Marley, was prompt, efficient and courteous. We ordered the Croquettes appetizer ($6) and they were superb, The salad ($11) was huge and extremely fresh. For our entrees, we had the Mahi ($28) and the Hanger Steak ($29). Both were cooked perfectly and come with unique Asian style toppings. A different spin from the ordinary. Both were washed down with a glass of chardonnay (Loire-$10) and a glass of California Cab ($12). The wine list is almost totally devoid of non-U.S. offerings. The Malbec was not from Argentina as one would expect to see. All-in-all, Heritage offers a unique spin on fine dining.
american food and the atmosphere here is very good. Came here on a Saturday. Certainly worth going back to.
Went here for brunch and everything was beyond yummy. I d recommend making reservations as it s small in there and tables fill up quickly. We couldn t decide what to get (too many good choices!) so we went splitsies on the big vegan hash and the chicken & waffles. HIGHLY recommend both. And our waitress was just about the nicest person I ve met!
Hands down one of the best restaurants in Richmond, I had bolognese topped with fresh foie gras yesterday, and it was unbelievable. I couldn t stop thinking about it, though I do wish the restaurant made the foie one of their main courses. The only downside is that the portions are incredibly small for the price. Also didnt like the chicken liver pate.
Absolutely phenomenal brunch!
really amazing brunch spot. the portions are huge, its a really good value. and i had the BEST PANCAKE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE here. have you ever taken a bite of something and thought, this is undoubtedly the best of (whatever food it is) Ive ever had? thats what their pancakes are like!! the humble pancake, very simple, easy to make, you wouldnt expect much... but I was actually taken aback by how incredible this pancake was. seriously!! the big hot mess, biscuits & gravy, chicken & waffles are all also delicious, and again the portion sizes make you feel like youre getting a great value.
Checked out Heritage for brunch and Ill definitely be returning! The food is so so good, and if you are a pancake person like me, Id definitely recommend getting some of these! They were amazing and fluffy, just like I like em! Just a heads up, brunch was packed! We had reservations but, could see all the people waiting for seats so make sure you call ahead or plan to wait! With that being said, our server was awesome and checked on us frequently! If brunch isnt your thing, they have a great drink selection as well, so if you are just looking for a different atmosphere to grab some drinks
Their food was amazing. I was looking for bar to drink. As soon as I entered the restaurant, food looks FABULOUS and smell so good. I really like this place as people who work in the shop are super nice, and pretty good at their job. Dont need to wait long time and clean environment. Good to visit once in month.
The food here was really good. The fried oyster appetizer was really good but $13. The fried broccoli was good too at $7. The beer was another story. They do not have draft beer at all. To make it worse they don t even have chilled glasses so you either drink from a can or pour it into a warm glass. Athough the response below suggests you can ask for one, I did (for the lager, not for the stout of course) and was told they werent available. When we got the check and saw that it was nearly $100 for 4 beers and 4 appetizers we realized that the founders beer we had ordered was $12 per bottle...no kidding. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars but the server was great which pushed it over the top.
Great food. Friendly staff.
Excellent food. Busy. Slow to get meal. Excellent waittress.
Such fantastic service to support some amazing food with such a great value.
We ve been here probably 10 times over the last few years. This is easily the most consistently excellent restaurant in Richmond. The drinks are always perfect, the service always delightful and unobtrusive, and the food always excellent. Almost always amazing. The worst thing I can say is one time the duck was a touch chewy. Go here immediately. There are too many restaurants in Richmond maybe, but don t forget about this absolute gem.
Delicious food excellent service. I had the smoked sausage with potatoes and it was so crispy. Def going back
Amazing drinks, food, and service! The scallops were delicious!
Great service and amazing food!
Have eaten there several times and looking forward to the next visit!
Every time were in town we come here! I have literally no complaints or ideas about anything they could do better. The staff is very welcoming and attentive and the space is cute. Everything Ive had here has been great and when weve recommended it to people theyve loved it too.
First time visit for brunch and no complaints. Great service. Timely delivery of food. Pretty casual atmosphere. Ordered the Vegan Mess. It was delightful. Was PLENTY of food, def have leftovers for another full meal. A bit heavy on craft beers and cocktails, so was glad for the Staff Beer option...Lions Head with a Heritage koozie.
Excellent friendly service
The service was truly great. The food was good. Loved the fresh made pasta dish and flat iron steak entrees. The snacks we ordered were fine: The pimento croquettes were very comforting if a bit greasy, the smoked fish dip tasted a bit funky, the pork fries were fun. The management was very prompt and thorough in addressing the issue below from our original review, which we greatly appreciate. All in all, we were definitely glad that we got the chance to eat here! (Original review: I can t rate the food or service because we weren t seated. Their hours on their website and on google state that they re open until 10:00pm. We arrived at 9:02pm and were told that they had decided to close early that night. We had ubered there and had to then Uber elsewhere. It was disappointing and it cost us money. If you decide to dine here, don t trust the posted hours and be sure to call ahead or make a reservation.)
Food and service were excellent.
This is my first visit to Heritage Restaurant. And Im sure is not going to be the last one. Food and drinks are great and match the price. That is the best combo in my opinion.
Had a nice chicken and waffles for brunch. Great wait staff
Our all time favorite restaurant!!
Excellent food and service as always. One of if not THE best brunch in RVA.
Always amazing
Absolutely great food.
Pimento croquettes are great, smoked fish dip is very good, fried oysters I could take or leave, pasta was flavorful but over priced. I prefer a more intimate atmosphere than they provide. Server was very skilled but the order got confused. If I do go back, it will be for the premium cocktails
Fantastic food and drinks, and be ready to pay accordingly! The food is excellently prepared and the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. If you re looking for a great date spot or a delectable bite to eat, look no further.
Average food, cute atmosphere
FANTASTIC SERVICE FANTASTIC FOOD. WE WILL BE BACK.
The food was amazing!!!! A bit crowded for my taste but , I would definitely be back.
My favorite restaurant in Richmond! Whenever I have a special dinner, I have everyone come here and it has NEVER disappointed! Looking for somewhere delicious and local? HIGHLY recommend checking out Heritage; you wont be sorry you did!
Very good. Really enjoyed the bar before dinner. Good veggie entree for wife, and not mushroom based. Rockfish (see pic) was tasty. Updated November 2019: Still good! I enjoyed the fried broccoli and oysters. There was still both vegetarian and vegan options for my family members
Great service and awesome food.
Delicious, stellar, amazing food with a classy casual ambiance and wonderful service.
Food was good and service was attentive. Definitely recommended the fried broccoli. Great craft cocktails.
The love child of an Irish Coffee and a Mexican Hot Cocoa. This is how Michael described this drink to me and he couldnt have put it better. The Arbaxas is just that, giving you both a sweet kick and little fire. I enjoyed mine with a chocolate tart. I love any place where the service is as good, warm and engaging as the food. Heritage is that place and for me, Michael made the experience. He treated me as if I were a guest in his home. I have every reason to return and I shall. Props to Michael and Cassie for their attentiveness during such a busy hour.
Its a lively restaurant and you need reservations. The rockfish was not overcooked and quite tasty. Service is efficient and the waiter staff is friendly and attentive. The fried oyster appetizer was crispy and flavorful.
