It started off bad for the poor guy and got worse from there. The food was very good. The Rock Fish is always on point. It was quiet but probably justifiable for a Monday night.

Food was not impressive, drinks were expensive, and bartender was a little snooty. It was upset quiet for an afterwork event, but I will not return.

Love this place! Always consistent with the food and Ryan makes the BEST old fashioned. Highly recommend to anyone local or from out of town.

This restaurant is a must go to place. The bartender, Andrea, made you feel so welcome and at home. Chef Toni made an amazing meal and came to check on me on how it was. I worked here 30+ years ago when it was among the top places to dine in Richmond. The triad of nice dining included The Tobacco Co, the Berkeley Hotel, and Sam Millers. My husband and I decided to return several months ago. What on earth has happened to this place? It was a Saturday night. The Tobacco Co was packed. There was only one other table of diners at Sam Millers - on a Saturday night at prime dinner hour. Our table was in an empty room and looked like where they stack extra chairs against the wall in the hall of an 80s hotel. The food was awful. Service was awful. I was so sad to see it like this. Who runs this place now? What have you done to this once amazing restaurant? Regarding the 5 star reviews ... they must love Long John Silvers and Hardees.

Just ordered a basic hamburger to go (not pink) and without bun. Chose cucumber and tomato salad as a side. Found 2 long hairs in the hamburger/lettuce container and the hamburger was split almost in half. The bartender who took order provided good service. Will not go back there. The side salad had almost rotten tomatoes it was a bad experience unfortunately.

We went last night to celebrate our 40th Anniversary . The Oysters Rockefeller were the best we ve ever had . So good we ordered a second! The dinners were also wonderful., the Crab cakes and the Rock fish. The chef heard it was our anniversary and sent out dessert, we had a wonderful conversation with him. We hadnt been there for years, and so happy we chose Sam Miller s for our celebration.

The staff seemed unusually irritated and the added protein ($13+) was highly underwhelming on an otherwise OK Caesar with chewy croutons. Eh... It was unusually disappointing but maybe Friday lunch in post-covid downtown Richmond is just still sucky

We booked the rehearsal dinner, in the Warehouse Room at Sam Millers, for our sons wedding. Ken, the GM, was wonderful. He always returned calls and emails in a timely manner, and was great to work with on the details of the dinner, and which space would work best for our group. We had a sit down dinner for 44 from the James package, which had options of steak, salmon, chicken and vegetarian pasta, along with an appetizer and dessert. The service was excellent and everyone raved about the food. We can highly recommend. Parking: A parking garage was just a block away

We didn t eat here. We stopped in because we were early for a reservation up the street. We walked in and were greeted by the bartender. We said just here for a quick drink, he said oh good because the kitchen is closing. It wasn t that late. It was pretty dead. Would have loved some oysters as an appetizer. When I mentioned where we were going he commented that it was very expensive. It s not like I have a choice, you are closed. Drinks were ok. Couldn t get bartenders attention for check.

Perfect spot for a happy hour cocktail and oysters. Right in the middle of Shockoe Slip and quick walk from the Omni. The owner is a lovely gentleman and his staff are always friendly and prompt!

If you like seafood, stay far away from this spot. The service was pretty good overall which is half the battle, but the food was atrocious. We visited Richmond and wanted to eat at a nice oyster bar downtown. First of all, it s almost $3 per oyster ($16 for $6) and they were chewy, old, and not up to par for what you d come to expect from an Oyster bar with those prices in this location. Also, the MAIN POINT: Do NOT let these fraudsters sell you oysters Rockefeller (errr, cream of spinach??). Whatever recipe the chef put together for this recipe is just not the one. Just put bacon, spinach, and Parmesan cheese on a large oyster and bake it. These oyster Rockefeller s were by far and away the WORST we ve ever had by a mile. It literally tasted like cream of spinach. Nasty. Place was absolutely a ghost town at 8 PM on a Saturday night. That should tell you everything you need to know.

If you have never been to this place please go!!! It is a hidden gem and the people are amazing the drinks are great and the food is really great as well.

OMG! Definitely not the Sam Millers I remember. Took my daughter out for her birthday and boy we were both disappointed. Steak was bland, she said her potatoes tasted like plastic, fried green tomatoes smothered in corn meal and bacon yam and atmosphere was totally lacking. Paper on tables instead if linens. No real steak knives and music was playing like you were at some sort of back yard barbecue. Kitchen staff poorly dressed walking through restaurant. I know this sounds snobbish but was definitely expecting better food and classier atmosphere for money charged. Overall it really sucked. Waitress was nice and apologized and took meals off tab. Extra plus but was such a disappointment and a birthday dinner hopefully we forget sooner than later

Dont go on new years, and chicken piccata really means southern fried chicken.

It is a noisy environment mainly because of very little sound absorbency. I was there for a group event and they served a Buffet. I think this was one of the worst buffets I have ever had. I would label the quality as acceptable, but the variety as miserable. For some place that expensive I would ve expected better. did have a good bar though.

This used to be a great downtown spot for lunch meetings and it is a shell of its former self. I ve been coming here about once a week for meetings for the past year since it s one of the only options open within walking distance. The signature crab soup now just tastes like a bowl of liquid flour. I got fried oysters and they were cold and had an extreme amount of cornmeal breading with literally no seasoning. The lettuce for my Caesar was old and wilted. It had very little dressing and little flavor. The croutons were stale. I ve been going here for a very long time and I held off for a long time to write this review hoping they would improve and it s sad to see the state of this restaurant. I hope it can return to its former self. I hope they see this review as a challenge to improve to proper standards rather than to tear them down.

Never in my life have I ever experienced a dining experience like this. The restaurant was empty. One party of 8 and one 2 two top. 1 bartender and a hostess. No one took our order for over 30 minutes. Then after we finally ordered we waited another 45 minutes. We could hear the cook cursing and screaming and fighting in the back and throwing things. A kitchen worker sat at the bar the whole time. Then came an overwhelming smell of marijuana. Our kids were so scared and uncomfortable that we got up and just left without ever getting any food. I called to discuss the experience after and was told the chef was overwhelmed. I was like there was no one there and it was a Saturday night-what was there to be overwhelmed about. How do they get off charging $42 a steak with that type of atmosphere. Unreal. Ruined Saturday night.

We had rehearsal dinner for my son and daughter in law at Sam Miller s Restaurant on 4/7/23. The manager, Ken Wall, was so professional, helpful, accommodating and made sure everything was perfect! Todd, Chef Tony, Will & Alli were awesome and ensured everyone was taken care of. The food, service, & atmosphere was wonderful! It was the perfect location for their rehearsal dinner as their wedding was at The Main Street Station. Thank you!

Nice atmosphere and unique experience! Oysters on the half shell were delicious and the extra kick in the cocktail sauce was welcome! Bar tender, staff, and the chef were all nice and personable! Thanks for a fun night! MUST TRY: the coffee Ice cream sandwich is to die for and is one of the best desserts Ive had anywhere!

The crab soup here used to be good. While the service and atmosphere are still top notch the food has lost its flavor. Was bland soup with lots of crab meat and it needed salt at the minimum.

Private luncheon for abt 25 people on Sat afternoon with variety of entrees to choose from. It was great! Thank you Ken!

We were debating between 3 restaurants on this block & made the right choice! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was comfortable but nice. Our server, Todd made our dining experience fantastic! He was awesome!! The cook/chef (believe named Tony) also came out to make sure the food was great... which it was!! Ill definitely be back. Great happy hour specials (also appreciated super clean ladies room) Thanks again to Todd!

Tony is the BEST chef here. His crabcakes are the best Ive had outside of Maryland. I had to have my server call him out so I could personally thank him and just so happen he was walking by and I asked was he the chef. He was such a humble and kind gentleman. He was not only preparing food for tables but he had also been attending to a party in the area where events are being held and he was holding it down! Please give him his kudos and the kitchen staff for supporting him. He is a huge asset to this establishment. Looking forward to the next visit.

Great drinks great staff!!!

Stopped here while visiting Virginia and unfortunately had a bad experience. The food was very bland and took forever to come. The service was non-existent. The waitress came to take my order and never came back to refill my drink, ask how the food was etc. I was about to get up to ask another server my bill when my waitress finally showed back up. When waiting for her to run my tab, she proceeds to loudly tell a story to a friend/costumer where she used the F word probably 20 times.

Still sitting at Sam Millers having an awful experience. They re incredibly short staffed with one waitress managing three sections and the bar, I don t blame her for any of this. Drinks took 40 minutes to come, and when they did, one had a gnat in it. The famous crab soup was bland. And we re waiting to see what the entree will be like. They should have closed for the night.

Place is beautiful but it was empty. Stayed anyway. We were doing restaurant week. Had 2 drinks and the 3 courses. Food was ok service was good but in the middle of dinner there was a bad smell of cleaning products. It was so bad ir really ruined our meal.

We chose Sam Millers for our large wedding rehearsal dinner for the location and atmosphere. Initially, the staff was great to work with and very accommodating. They allowed us to keep our cake in their freezer, which was very helpful. Unfortunately, our experience on the day of our event was very disappointing. The event space was not set up as previously stated, the staff did not listen to the requests of the hosts, the entrees were served extremely late into the evening, and not even bread was served while guests waited for dinner. The staff refused to take dinner orders until everyone was seated, which is very difficult to enforce with 60+ people (bathroom, bar for drinks, standing up while holding a baby, saying hello to other guests, etc.) Dinner for some tables weren t served until 9:30pm when our event was supposed to end. We had several guests leave and order pizza to their hotel room because it was so late (we still paid for their meals they never received). The event started at 6:30pm. This was extremely embarrassing for the parents of the groom, and they were very upset. It s not worth the money you will spend. In addition, the agreement contract states a microphone is listed under equipment included, although we still were charged $50. However, the staff working our event were nice - the execution was poor. These complaints and frustrations were brought to the managers attention, and we were offered a complementary dinner. Our family will not be returning to this restaurant and I would not recommend hosting an event here.

The staff and management gave terrible customer service when hosting a wedding event. They were unable to communicate with regular customers trying to be seated and were unsure whether they wanted to seat us etc. it was very rude and ultimately we left to go to a different restaurants happy hour.

I ordered the ocean prime seafood salad. It was horrible. The scallops were inedible and undercooked, the crab meat was subpar, and the shrimp weren t even cleaned. It was a waste of money. I never will go back.

Out of several main dishes so that was disappointing but we did find other dinners that were good but not fully cooked and soup came cold.

Server was very slow, took 30 minutes to get drinks. Refill only happened after multiple requests reminding. Food was great, just took a lot longer than anticipated.

My Sister took me here for my Birthday while visiting in Richmond. We had a wonderful time. The crab-cakes were wonderful no filler. Tony the Chef heard it was my birthday and came to say hello. He not only wanted to know what kind of cake I liked but brought me a piece to go on the house! I am sorry I do not remember our waiters name but he too went above and beyond. Great job on his part.. Really good steak and friendly service.

The service was amazing but the food was literally inedible. We were only allowed to pick off of a special Valentine s Day which had good options so not a big deal. The fish was disgusting and extremely fishy. I had to send back my filet I asked to be cooked medium and it was even less cooked than medium rare. We took our desserts to go and still couldn t even eat those

Had reservations for Valentines. Very busy as expected. Had a three course meal as a special menu. The crab cake and rockfish were phenomenal. Service was a little lacking but the place was extremely busy so it was understood. Nice atmosphere, great cocktails.

Yummy expensive lunch

First time eating here had cup of crab soup, special Grilled pork chop with peach sauce over rice and broccoli, Baked rock fish over rice and broccoli. The crab soup little taste, the pork chop was tuff for the steak knife, chop was small and just over a 1/4 inch tbick. Ended with $97.00 not happy with quality of food.

Food was good but menu choices were few and prices were quite high. Service was good.

Very nice, elegant feel in historic district. Steak and seafood kind of place - especially good on seafood and crab cakes. I had fish that was perfectly prepared. Decent but not a big wine list... the red I had was excellent for the price. They have space for groups and events.

Not the best used to be a great place to eat, but not the quality anymore.

On vacation and we tried out this restaurant. We should ve turned around as soon as we entered because it was dead on Saturday night and stinky. The decor was nice but there we smells of grease and marijuana. The rockfish was salty in some spots and lemony in others, not consistent flavoring and pretty basic. The fondue was just a crab dip with stale bread and the cheese tasted burnt/old/bad. The crab soup was bland. Asparagus tasted spoiled and the steak was bland. All the food was below average and the bill was way too high for the quality of food. I would not recommend anyone eat at this place. Service was good but didn t make up for awful food.

My server, Roland, was the best. Despite the whole restaurant being packed, he was on point and going the extra mile for everything. He was the cutest! The food was incredible. I love the atmosphere and I will be back soon. Compliments to the chef(s), they know what they are doing. It is also Such a beautiful part of downtown, the location is perfect if you want to walk around and check out other shops or even go to other bar/club spaces after. I will be back!!!!!!

Went here for dinner while on a business trip. Very friendly staff and great service. Had the local oysters as a starter, quite small but tasted OK. Rockfish as main which was good. Had rice and vegetables. Tasted really good and sensible portions. Not a cheap restaurant but value for money. Looks the bit too.

We went during Richmond Restaurant Week and all they had was the RRW menu, and the restaurant was not full. So it shouldnt have been too hard to handle service, right? A bit of a wait (ten minutes) to give the order, but more than a half an hour between the appetizer and the entree. As to the food, the soup was quite good, but the crab cake was nearly burned on one side. The chocolate cake dessert was dry, possibly sitting out for quite a while. Disappointing.

Company dinner hosted by Sam Miller s for about 60+ people. Food was delicious and staff attentive.

Parking was an issue. Being handicapped and a veteran I parked in a spot (not being able to get an explanation of the no parking sign) that appears to convey it was ok to park there. Once in the restaurant I sat at the bar to await the others I asked the young bartender if he believed I was ok where I was parked, He stated they wont bother you this late and on a weekend night. He also stated that he didnt have a parking problem as he was parked in front of the entrance door... I belive management needs to establish a parking policy for employees, public spots that are available for the customers should not be utilized by employees. With that said I will say the Crab Cakes were Amazing..

The Chicken Club Sandwich was so delicious. I really loved the location and they were open for a late lunch.

Ordered the cheeseburger sliders and fries during happy hour. Jackson was the only server present at the time but was attentive, pleasant, and contributed to the relaxing atmosphere of the place. Tasty, affordable food, and great service. Would definitely come back.

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant here. Her sugar was dropping fast, shes an insulin dependent diabetic, and the whole restaurant came to her aid and gave a place to get her comfortable and stable, and kept checking on her. They went above and beyond. Deserve more than 5 stars...

I had high hopes for this place, and reserved a table for date night with my fiancé. Unfortunately, when we got there we were rudely greeted by a hostess that seemed annoyed we had come in. We asked if we could sit outside, and we re brought out to a table. We sat for 30 minutes outside without menus or anybody coming to check on us. Considering the rudeness of the hostess, we decided not to go in and ask what was going on so we got up and left. Hopefully it was just a bad night for the restaurant and we went at the wrong time.

The NY strip steak was mediocre and priced like a prime cut. Very disappointing. Good oysters, however. Nice staff and pleasant atmosphere.

People were generally pleased with their dishes. Service was slow and changed staff members multiple times. Food came with a LOT of meat and not enough vegetables, but everything was cooked nicely. Cake was dried out.

Here on a business trip with 12 people on a Wednesday night and only had two steaks available to order. Was not busy. Had the snapper with broccoli and rice which was still good. Others had crab cakes and shrimp cocktail. No complaints.

Went for Restaurant Week Fall 22. Pros: - friendly staff, our waitress was very nice and attentive - fantastic dessert, highly recommend the key lime pie or strawberry cake. Cons: - food is dated. Our main courses had anemic, overcooked, unseasoned vegetables with giant portions of meat. Steak sauce was too sweet. Rockfish sauce was curdled and overly tart. - very disappointed with the oyster trio. The raw oyster and the two cooked oysters arrived at the same temperature - lukewarm. Oysters were not separated from the shell. - atmosphere was confused. Could hear the loud bar music from the separate section they put us in that had no music. Nitpicks: - our waitress was unfamiliar with the etiquette of wine service, was not offered a taste of the bottle before it was poured. Not her fault, she was great! But perhaps a lack of training. - wine list was limited Overall, there are better restaurants in Richmond at the price point. This restaurant needs a revamp in the kitchen to keep up.

We had a reservation, but were late trying to find a parking spot. They held it, and when we got there we were pleasantly greeted and had a flawless dinner with drinks, appetizers, mains, and shared dessert. We had crab soup, the rockfish, and oysters Rockefeller. All of the seafood is fresh and perfectly cooked. The crab soup was excellent --full of crab and probably the best and most flavourful weve ever had at a restaurant. Seating is comfy, and the music is good. The chef, whom we knew was busy, even stopped by our table. The waitstaff is friendly, and ours has a delightful personality. Well be back soon!

Very nice low key place

Ordered the crab dip for pick-up and was extremely disappointed to get a container of what seemed to be cream cheese with some crab bits thrown on top. We had to add our own seasonings as there was almost no taste to the dip. Two stars b/c at least there was a good amount of crab.

Service was excellent , oysters amazing, sadly our entree I got scallops were really over cooked and the creamed bean corn stuff that cam wasnt that great and then my husnband got rock fish and rice the rice was over cooked the fish was okay. Been here a couple times and loved it ! Will definitely be giving it a second chance. Still love the place maybe was just an off night

This is a good lunch spot if you work downtown or near VCU hospital. Its a quick walk and the food is good.

Went for dinner on a work trip, was specifically after some fresh oysters. Almost didn t try this place - usually don t venture below 4.5 stars in a new city. Walked in at 6pm on a Monday, was seated at a two top at the very back of the restaurant next to the kitchen/alley door at a wobbly table with a paper tablecloth that barely covered the table. The table next to me was being used as a temporary office space and had a laptop and various supplies set up on it. The front half of the restaurant has so much character...the back section I was seated in felt like what I imagine a bowling alley crossed with a Red Lobster would be: cheap carpet, cheap furniture, etc. The menus were cut by hand (poorly) and printed in some undignified font (not comic sans thank god) with clip art pictures. I ordered 1/2 dozen oysters and an old fashioned, and decided I would wait for them to come as a test run before ordering more. The oysters were massive, that s about the only good thing about them. In fact they were so massive I m not totally certain they were local and not gulf oysters but i m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on that one. They were not super fresh but not awful, but none of them had been released from the shell, and most of the liqueur had been spilled on the ice. Two or three had shell fragments. The old fashioned was actually quite tasty (esp for $5), though served without a citrus garnish- unless you count the 4-5 things floating in it. I m choosing to believe they were very dried out orange pulp for my sanity. I tabbed out after that and went elsewhere rather than risk a main course.

While stopping through for work, was looking for a bite close to the hotel. This was it!!!!! Food was delicious . My coworkers tried various beers and loved it. Definitely will come back if I am in the area!!!

I was excited to find raw bar right around the corner from my hotel. On my visit, I inquired about the oysters on the half shell, and was more than a little surprised to be told they dont know what kind of oysters they are, they just know theyre from VA. Not a great look for a place whose business is seafood. (Im skeptical that these arent just gulf oysters, given the size and the mildness.) Any raw bar worth their salt will have at least a few varieties, and any place that even calls themselves a seafood restaurant should at least be able to identify what variety of oysters theyre serving (Louisiana gets a pass, but you know, were two hours south of DC, and this is a foodie city). Regardless, I tried a half dozen, but only ate two - though they were served on ice, they were clearly not chilled in the kitchen, and came out tepid, which anyone can tell you is a very dangerous game to be playing with raw shellfish. They were also not well shucked, and most of the liquor was drained or had been spilled. Finally, I was excited to get some mignonette this far south (harder to find in the south than NE or PNW), but this was perhaps the worst mignonette Ive had - it wasnt gross, just terribly bland. I gave three stars because the drink specials were good, the staff was friendly, and the space definitely has potential, but as a seafood junkie who travels about 10 months a year and eats all over the map, this was pretty disappointing.

Might be one of the best places for happy hour. $5 cosmopolitans and $7 calamari might be my favs. Definitely looking forward to visiting again.

We did not enjoy our food. The steak was overcooked and the chicken had a thick coating that was fried too long. The service was inattentive at best. Our server was more interested in chatting with her friends or regulars than checking to see if we needed anything. Never asked if our food was okay or if we needed refills of our drinks. What makes that even worse was that it wasnt a busy time that evening. We would not return.

If I could give zero I would stay away from this dump food is horrible and service even worse

So visited Sam millers 2 days ago on a business trip. Inside the place is very upscale and nice. We where seated and I ordered the filet Mignon, scallops, asparagus and mashed potatoes. When I received my plate the portion was a bit small for the $50 tag. No scallops...I quickly told the waitress I was missing the scallops she said they would come right out and sorry. I started cutting the Filet, a bit underdone from Medium but edible. Took a few bites but noticed a really big strip of fat/gristle I couldnt even cut through. I mean it was so bad a Sawzall would strain to cut through it. I alerted the waitress and chef came out to immediately apologize and take the meal off the bill. I thanked them. Asked about my scallops and was told they ran out. So my dinner that night consisted of asparagus and potatoes. Nothing else was offered.

Had a few cocktails outside patio Jackson was our wonderful bartender and took great care in making is feel welcome.

This place is awesome at accommodating parties and so friendly, not to mention the FOOD! YUMMY!!

Unfortunately I had a bad experience. The service was slow on an empty Monday night. I order the Crab soup bowl and they brought me a cup with old crackers and a dozen oysters and they came out at the same time with the soup and for my main dish I order the Rock Fish. The presentation of the food was nicely arranged unfortunately the Fish was too salty that the only thing I could taste and the broccoli was over cook. The building and location is beautiful I just wish the food and service would be better.

Had a wonderful dinner tonight at Sam Miller s on E. Cory St. The meal was phenomenal, especially the crab cakes. I read a review here saying they have no flavor they are not saturated with salt so that they produce a very delicate taste. The head chef is personable and engaging and our waitress very prompt and attentive.

The food was good, beer was good, service was good at the bar, the atmosphere was good. I was disappointed they had MSNBC on the tv. That took away from the rest of it.

Had a wedding breakfast here with 40 people and they did an amazing job! Great food, excellent service; and a beautiful venue on cobblestone street. Fully recommend!

We had my son s rehearsal dinner here on 9/24 with over 70 guests. I can t say enough good things about Ken and his staff. Things that were important to me that mattered: 1) excellent communication with us on menu and ideas 2) great set-up 3) they worked with us on within our budget and were extremely flexible / willing to work with us / and through-out the event they did fantastically well. The food was on point, and they were very accommodative to some of the guests that had dietary restrictions as well. Great job, Ken and your crew! I highly recommend them if you re considering a gathering.

My husband and I hosted our rehearsal dinner at Sam Millers and it was fabulous! Ken was accommodating and easy to work with from the first message. The food was great, the atmosphere was perfect and the staff made the evening very stress free and enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

Ducked into Millers to get out of the rain on a slow Monday night in early October, there were all of perhaps four of us there at about 7pm. Decided to try the Ocean Cob. It seemed like a good idea, since I like both Cob Salads and shellfish. Nice idea but disappointing execution. The crab, scallops and shrimp were all pre-cooked and chilled, perhaps the entire salad was pre-made and refrigerated-it tasted like it anyway. Based on other comments Id say stay away on slow Mondays.

Excellent food and drinks with GF knowledgeable friendly staff. No GF desserts though.

Had a great experience for a small group dinner last night. Our service was terrific, Todd was very personable with everyone in our party. The food was wonderful. Even Chef Tony came out of the busy kitchen to check on us. Highly recommend!

The oyster sampler was so delicious with the raw oysters being my favorite. I definitely recommend the scallops with bacon succotash! Service was warm and very friendly!

Staff was so friendly. Food was outstanding. My kids are their mini sliders and my husband and I loved our meals. Delicious food. Very clean and took many Covid precautions. Felt safe.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience. We were delayed one day on our move to Italy, and had the opportunity to celebrate our anniversary eve at Sam Millers. The waitress was wonderful and the environment was fantastic. Great restaurant with a lot of history. And to top it off... Loved the food.

Still a couple of Covid hiccups but the staff was great

Had a great experience at lunch during COVID-19 restriction. The Baja fish tacos and the crab soup were both amazing and a must have! Also, the restaurant team has maintained all restriction and mandates put in place but the state government so you can rest assured you will feel safe and well taken care of. They also offer take out and from what I heard will be offering delivery very soon.

The food was phenomenal and the bartender/waitress(Andrea)was the most bubbly person Ive ever met. NY strip and the rockfish is top of the line. Food took a little while to come, but it was well worth the wait. Places like this makes me miss Richmond and the quality restaurants it has hidden everywhere.

My partner and I were staying next door at the Berkeley (which is a wonder hotel) for his birthday. The front desk had seen my comment about champagne for our room and said that though the hotel kitchen was closed she knew a wonderful place I could get some from. She called Sam Miller s for me and I spoke with Andrea who helped me pick out a bottle of champagne and said she d bring it over in 15 minutes (to give us time to park and get to our room). Not only did she bring the champagne but also champagne flutes and even a piece of cake which tasted wonderful! Later that night we decided to go here for dinner. Andrea was our server and she remembered me from before even wishing my partner a happy birthday. It looked as though she was the only waitress in the restaurant. She was very attentive and bubbly, kept conversation up with us and recommended an appetizer which didn t disappoint. The chef came out from the kitchen twice to make sure everyone liked their food. I ordered the rockfish which was a large portion with a delicious sauce, rice and broccoli. My partner got the steak with fries (out of this world, so amazing!) and asparagus. He also got a side of scallops which were fresh and very well seasoned. The sides could have been a bit bigger especially for the price (about $30 per entree) but they were very well made. I would eat here again in a heart beat. Amazing food and sweet staff. Every was wearing masks and keeping a safe distance.

This place... the oysters were absolutely amazing, the crab dip some of the best Ive tasted. Calamari was great, but the rockfish... WOW! To top it off, the sirloin was cooked so close to perfection that it cut with a fork! We will definitely be back!!! The bartender Derek was actually our waiter as well and he was incredible! Thanks for the great service!

Excellent dining experience! The establishment has a lovely decor thats been maintained very well. The food was absolutely delicious (Southern Chicken Piccata~photo attached, Crab soup & Ocean Cobb~Sorry, I was too excited to photograph them .) Theres an option of sitting in the attractive & welcoming bar lounge or the intimate dining room. The entire staff was pleasant & accomodating. Derek our server was PHENOMENAL! He definitely contributed to our amazing dining experience. 5 Stars! This was our 1st visit, but it certainly wont be our last.
