The Mongolian beef is spicy like it should be and sooo good. I always order it from other places and its never actually spicy, so I was happy just with that! We ordered on Doordash tonight and will probably just do pickup from here in the future. The veggies in the dishes we ordered were fresh, the chicken breading was crispy, and the sauces tasted good. Great takeout option for a convenient dinner

I never received my crab Rangoon, & was served raw/undercooked shrimp.... I tried contacting the business, but no one would answer the 10+ calls I made to them, back to back. Over all disappointing experience & bad customer service. ....Maybe try answering your phones every now and again, so you can work it out with the customer.... The lack of customer service has left me no choice but to leave an honest review on all review platforms (I NEVER leave bad reviews.) So yeah, maybe just answer your phone to avoid this in the future. Terrible customer service.

This place has good Chinese food I walk by this place all the time but never tried it since I go to the Eatery I recommend the beef and broccoli and their crispy shrimp egg rolls

Been here once. Hunan beef, and General Tso Chicken. Both were very good for a standard Chinese take out joint. The fried rice and white were very very basic. I never like the spring rolls at Chinese spots anyways. Vegetables and oils seemed clean. Well done. Still looking for the ultra Chinese spot serving up those Iron monkey dishes. Word life.

My go-to takeout Chinese downtown/near VCU. The dinner/lunch combos are a great deal! Service is usually quick for online orders, both through their website and third-party delivery.

Not a great look on the outside or the inside. Nevertheless, the food I received was pretty decent. Chow mien was really good. I would recommend as a run of the mill Chinese take out spot. Some things are really good and others are sub par.

I have come here a few times over the last few months, and the food is normally very quick and fairly standard chinese food. The lost a star because one time their lo mein had a very off smell, so I didnt want to eat it. Besides that one time, the food is quick, cheap, and pretty good.

This is not the China Dragon you remember from even a year ago. The quality is horrid and gone down hill. The food is tasteless, eggrolls under cooked. They no longer actually listen to you on the phone when asking to leave out ingredients. They assure you and then put them in anyways. As a person who has visited this location and ordered the same meal for 8 years, this place has changed for the worst over the past year.

It s a standard Chinese takeout so expect a decent amount of food for a decent price. There is just take out and for a small order it takes about 10-15 minutes when it s not too busy. General Tso s chicken is pretty alright but the fried rice is not the best but they give a good amount.

There is a really nice lady that works there. She is alays so pleasant when I visit. The food is great and the service is much better than other Chinese restaurants Ive been too.

Their food used to be good, used to be my favorite Chinese place in RVA. They used to provide good quantity of meat. Nowadays they started putting more than 50-60% veg in any nonveg dishes. Sad to see my favorite Chinese place to degrade food quality like this throughout last one month. Now its not anymore better than other Chinese places in RVA like it used to be.

Hi, I would consider reevaluating with a different score in a few days; however, I don t think I ll be visiting your restaurant again. It really would have been helpful to receive a receipt and the items I ordered after purchase. I have visited this restaurant many times over the years. Because someone decided to change the items I ordered the order was really not what I was expecting. Unfortunately, I had to take the food items I received and dispose of them in the trash. I gave you $27.00 in cash.

Theres actual crab in the crab Rangoon. I enjoyed the lo mein and the sechzuan shrimp... Small spot, great food, nicely sized portions, its definitely my new go to for Chinese take out.

Terrible food. We order through Door Dash. First of all, there was a long black hair in one of our dishes (disgusting!!!). The Mongolian beef was really a Mongolian ONION. The general chicken sauce was more like a hard glaze. I wish I could give them 0 star.

Have been a loyal customer for 5 years, the House Lo Mein has always been my number one go to. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this restaurant when you don t have any restaurants in mind. Takeout and walk-ins are absolutely speedy!

The secret to many restaurants, especially modest ones, is knowing what to order and what not to order. I have found that, at China Dragon, you can actually order excellent and HEALTHY food, provided that you keep the order simple. Order any meat (such as beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, etc.) with vegetables (such as broccoli or mixed vegetables) over white rice. It will always come with your typically good Chinese restaurant brown sauce. You can even specify spicy if you want. And then, what you get will ALWAYS be good. A very healthy item is the Szechuan Tofu, but be sure to ask for steamed tofu (as opposed to the deep fried tofu). It comes with a good assortment of vegetables and a sauce. Two weeks ago, the service I received from the cashier was very curt, which is atypical for this restaurant. Later I mentioned this to the owner, who actually apologized to me and told me she would better train the cashier. This is a good reason for me to keep coming here.

I ordered a takeout order and I ve eaten at this establishment dozens of time for years throughout college and I wasn t given the right thing this one time. I didn t expect a full refund but I at least could hope that I could courteously be given credit the next time I ordered there since. I haven t had a bad experience before but the only option I was given was to drive 20 minutes back to switch out the items that weren t included in my order. I don t appreciate this experience and I doubt I d return here if I know how this is the policy if an error is made in an order I paid for.

I ve always had amazing service at this restaurant. Working in the restaurant industry, I know times can be rough on busy days/holidays but this place doesn t disappoint. Out of the 20 times I ve gotten food here, I ve only really had to wait on Christmas Day which is fine because only 10 restaurants are open then. Every other time it s been a ten minute wait time. Staff is always friendly and professional. Always my go to for Chinese food in Richmond.

Its what you expect from Chinese takeout. Food was warm, egg rolls were tasty and filled with pork. Dumplings taste like ones from my childhood made by a close friends mom. Its our chosen Chinese takeout place. We have had some issues with our order not being correct and once the egg rolls were doused in grease like they didnt drain them. Good prices!

This was my second time getting food from here and it is AMAZING! The food is hot & delicious, the lady behind the counter is very polite, and the restaurant itself is easy to access because of the parking lot located on the left side of the building. I would recommend this place to anyone.

All my food was warm and stayed warm for a while. Soup was fine (and spicy! hot & sour), egg roll yummy, but main entree was lackluster. I ordered the Triple Delight. If you like lots of rice and broccoli this is your dish. Dont expect much protein though as in Triple, i.e: chicken, beef, shrimp. By my count I got 3 shrimp, 4 pcs. of chicken and 1pc. of beef. Dont raise your prices and just rip off the customer. I wont be back. Used to be a place for good value now its yet another restaurant going down hill in Richmond.

Food is excellent, and it is one of the few places in the area that serves General Tsos Bean Curd. The one caveat is that you might want to check your food before you leave if the place is slammed, as I have had two orders come out partially wrong. I have not subtracted a star because they freely made up the order and tossed in some extra food as an apology.

Finally found the rice like they used to make it w peas, carrots, onions etc. For the price, it was a great deal. Egg rolls were good as well. My food was still hot when it arrived! I m not here to be rude, just honest. We placed an order for two, online. We were instructed to show up in 15-20 minutes, we showed up 30 minutes later to give them benefit of the doubt. On arrival they asked for the order, I gave it to guy working the register, he walked away after giving me the check and didn t say a word. After that he brought out order 36 minutes after I payed. Our order wasn t accurate, also the dumplings are Gyoza not dumplings . When our food was brought out not a word was said from the staff. I get it s cheap Chinese but this was just bad business over all. Won t support again :/

Rude employees

Lol know the kind of people youre spending your money on. I do doordash and it was me (a pale Hispanic), a white female, and a black male driver. Neither the white girl or I got asked for anything other than the customers name. The black man was asked for the customers name, their name, and to show the phone with the order on it. Not surprised in the slightest, but still sad.

Great food horrible service. Last night my boyfriend ordered over the phone. When he went to go pick it up, they said they didn t have anything we d ordered. He asked why they didn t say that over the phone. They just kept saying they didn t have it. When he got back home he called to make sure it was the right place, it was but then the lady on the phone said why would you order if you weren t going to actually get anything, cussed us out and said we wasted HER time as if we didn t waste ours driving over after ordering just for them to tell us they didn t have anything we ordered. This isn t the first time they ve had a bad attitude either. I hate leaving bad reviews but that was so unacceptable and horrible customer service.

The food is great but the time between ordering and delivery was nearly an hour. Calling in was easy and she was very polite. Problem was that my delivery driver was racist. He called his coworkers Chinese n-words. I called it in, they apologized and told me they wont have delivery to the building again. Its disappointing however because when I said I had an issue with the delivery driver, they knew it was him being rude. Edit: Now that Ive sat down and ate my food, its a bit of a disappointment. I ordered the chicken wings and fries. Chicken wings were cooked perfectly and the fries had a nice crunch to them. I also got the chicken teriyaki sticks which were also perfect. The pork fried rice tasted off, Im a bit worried it wasnt right. The boneless ribs were a bit on the colder side given the delivery time and a bit too chewy. The sweet and sour chicken was overcooked and just nothing but crunch, hardly and chew to it. My chicken noodle soup was meh. The noodles in the broth were okay but the chicken was like rubber. This is not the first time Ive ordered from here and every other time has been excellent but between the food and my delivery driver I wont be ordering here again. Original rating was three stars on account of the racist remarks and the fact all i I received was a brisk apology about the behaivor of the driver as they knew it right away when I called. Edit #2. I called to replay my complaints about my food to the restaurant and she did explain the chicken in my soup and the fried rice was because it was steamed too long and too much salt. She did say they would be better next time. Unfortunately when I went to ask for a refund whether full or partial for the items that were borderline inedible, I was hung up on. Thats disheartening. I dont know if it was intentional or accidental but three calls and it disconnecting this one time with such clarity on both ends seems unlikely. I am a bit miffed by the fact I spent 32 dollars on my dinner and half of it wasnt edible. Edit #3. I called early in the afternoon about the nights events and was told to send photos about the food. Two and half hours later when I returned to work, I sent the photos to the number given to send them. They called me back and said a driver was going to come pick up the food. Which they did. Ive never had a place come pick up food before. Most the time they tell you to just throw it away but not a huge deal. I hadnt planned on eating it any further. I was called back once they received the food and stood me they saw nothing was wrong with and I would be getting 27 dollars back since I ate three of the Teriyaki sticks, which Im fine with. I was then told I would be unable to order from there again, which Im not against but it does surprise me thats what was told to me. I understand there are people who attempt to get free food out of this but overall this was just terrible service and a bit of a hassle. It is one star entirely on account of the overall experience.

I honestly dont understand most of the bad reviews. The food here is good and the owners are very nice. I have always had a positive experience eating here and am always treated well and with respect. If youre skeptical because of the bad reviews please ignore them and just try the place out yourself. People are so negative about everything nowadays. On a cold winter day their food hits the spot. Keep being awesome China Dragon!

Great food and great price

I come here about once a week, and they have good lunch deals and great food. The owners are nice, and you get so much more bang for your buck here than at the Panda Express a few blocks away. Also, it s local instead of a chain, so you re supporting a family restaurant. I definitely recommend this place and will continue eating here for years to come.

This place is very reasonably priced and has good Chinese food though their spring rolls are small. We ordered dumplings, moo shu, egg rolls, spring rolls, and substituted 2 orders of white rice for vegetable fried rice and pork fried rice.

This is a great place right off of the VCU campus to pick up some lunch. Its become my favorite Chinese food place and my boyfriend and I have made it a habit to come here for lunch pretty regularly. They have some amazing lol mein and pork fried rice thats filling and reasonably priced for the amount of food. Definitely recommend going here if you get the chance.

The online ordering experience was very straightforward, and I appreciate that they allow you to pay when you pick up, and dont make you pay on the website. Selection covers all that youd think would be on the menu, and they offer good value for the cost.

The worse food and service I have ever seen from a Chinese restaurant. I ordered over the phone and the woman was rude and impatient. My house fried rice was undercooked and barely had any meat at all like 3 pieces of each max. This is one of the very few times where I feel like I completely wasted my money. This is the first time I ve ever eaten Chinese takeout and thought Wow this is horrible.

The staff was really friends and the place seemed nice but that food was the WORST Chinese Ive ever had. Straight doo doo, tasted like oil. I had the broccoli with garlic sauce and I couldnt even get two bites in before I had to throw it away and I NEVER throw food away. I gave two stars because it might just be my meal they messed up.

I had ordered food 2 months ago and the delivery driver was acting like he was on crack he asked me for my cash and kept my food in car i refused and told him to take food back ill never order anything from thete again and telling all others to do the same awful time im Disgusted

The best chinese place I have had in Virginia so far! I have tried so many places and am not a fan of their chicken wings or lomein, But China Dragon does thwm both right. Combo this meel with two tall boys at the seven eleven next door for a great dinner treat.

I do not recommend this place at all. It is very unprofessional the lady was rushing me to place my order while on the phone. She was cutting me off the entire time I was ordering. I was placed on hold for 20 mins and she never returned I had to hang up and say forget it. This place is always unprofessional but I be giving them the benefit of the doubt but they let me down eveytime. Please don t give them your money.

Ate here last week (November 2019), food tasted off. Shouldve thrown away my food as I am still sick with food poisoning. Do not eat here unless you like blasting chunks out of both ends.

Best Americanized Chinese food near campus (VCU) and great prices for the large portions. Dont expect southern hospitality or excellent customer service, the staff is very direct. But they arent intentionally rude either. They have kept my service for over 5 years now. Ive moved away from campus but I still go back when I get a chance.

So I tried to place a delivery order on the phone with what sounded like an eight year old. Obviously that didn t work out so I decided to just come pick it up. As I walked in the place I then realized an eight year old was literally taking orders and running the register. Yeah.....thought we fixed that in the 1920 s. My mind was blown..... Food wasn t terrible but felt terrible for not reporting to the authorities.

Lady who answered the phone was rude and rushing and not listening to the customer food was bad/rotten last time i ordered and honestly bad experience food was 5/10 service -10/10 unhappy customer

Placed an order online for delivery and they would not deliver to me. They advertise that they deliver within a 3 mile radius and Im 2.5 miles away. I even informed the girl who called me of this and she proceeded to say its actually 4 miles and still refused to deliver to me 2.5 miles away

Food is way to Americanized! The fried rice is yellow rice, and not one bit wok fried. The food was mediocre. I would never eat here again. I ordered thru doordash, if your out the restaurants delivery radius use the app. I want my money back.
