Korean Fusion Restaurant with Sit-Down Bar
First time in richmond VA. Looking for a korean restaurant. We saw the reviews to be really good. Sat down at 750 ; our orders were taken aroung 805 (only one person the bartender does the order and drinks at the same time) food did come incomplete at 840pm. Said there was a glitch in the system. Veryyyyyy slow service. Today is not even that busy.
Came in for Saturday lunch, food took over 30 min to come out. The tempera shrimp was submerge in the broth when they served my udon. The broth tastes like it was made from powder. Food was mediocre at best. If you’re looking for Asian food better off getting instant ramen from the supermarket, it tastes better.
Yummy! I got chicken katsu with FWA (sweet honey mayo) I carried out, but the staff greeted me with a warm smile and helped me quickly. It looked cute to dine in there
My kimchi jigae was absolutely delicious but they were playing the music way too loud at 2pm on a Sunday, which soured the experience. I couldn't even hear the waitress and started to get a headache due to the noise.
We wanted to try a new place before heading to a concert. The steamed pork dumplings were cooked perfectly with a nice mild chili sauce. The bulgogi on my house bowl was delicious, and there was no shortage of veggies. My husband's noodle bowl with short ribs had a nice kick to it. He didn't speak much while eating it, so I'm assuming it was good. Lol
Quick service, tasty food, and chill vibes! My party of 3 went on a Saturday around 5 PM and didn’t run into any wait. I really recommend the Pork Belly Ssam Kimbap and the Shiitake Udon Noodles, they were my favorites in our order! You can also add meat to the noodles as they don’t originally come with meat. The bubble tea, found under “Boba Cocktails” in the menu, was also tasty, and only cost $6 instead of $13 when you ask for no alcohol. There was not much of a delay waiting for our food to come out and the servers were also very personable and accommodating. I’d be happy to come back here again and try more of the Kimbap and other chef’s choices whenever I’m back in the Richmond area 😋
This place hits every single time I come to Richmond. I come hungry because I know I'm going to want to try so many options. First time having the corn cheese dip thing... phenomenal. I don't know how they do it, but they never miss. Music is always a vibe too. Everytime I come to Richmond, I come here to eat. ♡
Good food, dirty sticky tables and chairs, service is low. Told the waitress about the sticky liquid in the chair I sat in - she didn't seem to care and never cleaned it up. When going for dinner there's an ambiance to it, but makes you wonder if it's hiding more uncleanliness....
Entering the building; I noticed the aroma of spit. Giving chances, not thinking too much into it. (We still sat down. I ve come here before and the food was amazing! ) When I sat, the service was pretty slow but decent. Not much to think of, I spoke with my friend and then the food was served. I noticed it tasted funny, but didn t say much because maybe it were my taste buds. When the check were served; she only gave me the customer receipt. Confused, I still gave her my card to run and when I ran it, she said there were no funds ( even after I ran both cards ( she typed them in and everything) Then said FREE OF CHARGE, I GOT IT . I left, feeling odd afterwards;not knowing why she would run both my cards when I knew they had funds. Shortly afterwards, my throat grew sore. Davina spit in my food and gave it to me for free! Nasty! I m contemplating on pressing charges, but I m trying to give the benefit of doubt. Not sure who the cook is, but when I have the opportunity, I will gladly speak with them. This place is amazing, however, I believe this young lady, Davina, needs replacing. Why run my cards if you give me a customer receipt ( no signature) ? You spit in my food and constantly harassed me in funds? No. Charges? Maybe.
The Kimchi soup is so good! The atmosphere is nice and cozy.
I ve been debating where to take my daughter for her 12th year birthday.. it was here or the near by steakhouse.. so I decided a preteen would think this is better.. Now the whole evening was planned so Kogi was the first spot.. due to that fact that we arrived late we really couldn t enjoy the food bc we had to be at Dominon Energy Center for the Carmen opera.. then we went to a birthday party after . We ordered the bulgogi quesadilla, calamari and the spicy ramen.. To our surprise, the food came fast AND IT WAS DELICIOUS!! but still was in a rush, so I promised her we will return the next day THE NEXT DAY Being that the quesadilla was delicious, we wanted to try the fries.. AND THAT IS THE GOLDEN TICKET!!! Now I am not a fries person but that.. YES! We also tried the soy garlic wings.. that pair made this restaurant our favorite.. and I m a person who went to culinary school, from NYC.. and never satisfied with food
This place is my go-to! Ive yet to be disappointed by any of their menu items- whether its takeout or dine in, they somehow manage to always make it delicious. This place was new when I first moved to richmond, which was almost 10 years ago now, and Im very, very happy its stuck around!
cute family run restaurant with good korean food. i got the kimbap with egg and spam. it was really good and great for an afternoon snack or light dinner. definitely coming back to try other menu items!! update: the food in the pic is from another day in which i came. all of it was still really good
I love Kogi so much. Their new Korean dumpling soup was freakin delicious. Broth was perfectly seasoned, udon was tenderly cooked, and the dumplings were out of this world. The kimchi pancake was one of the best things I ve ever put in my belly. Will be coming back again and again!
Awesome Food Awesome service the bartender Vyna is really awesome as well. Best place for the first date.
Food was AMAZING
Amazing Korean cuisine. I has the ribeye bulgogi and kimbop. Would give them more stars if it was possible. Highly recommend.
Saturday night service only had 1 person working. Not sure what the situation was, but it was packed and it was impossible to get service. Took us an hour to pay the bill after finishing our meal. Food was tasty at least.
Good food, good service, okay atmosphere.
Incredible bulgogi lettuce wraps. Perfect for someone who wants a solo Korean bbq experience. Definitely get the peach soju
Amazing food, great service and great portions. We had two bowls, fries, wings and udon noodles. All yum !
Small restaurant with BIG flavor. I would suggest the Bulgogi lettuce wraps as an appetizer 100% of the time.
Ordered through Ubereats, the bibimbap and honey gochu wings were delicious (sweet and spicy).
This is more of a korean fusion type place and the food isnt authentically korean. It make a decent lunch place but pretty misrepresenting what korean food is supposed to taste like.
Perfect place to go to before concert at National
Food has been good but the service has been a disaster the last 3 times Ive been there. Taken over an hour and a half to get served each time. Its not the servers fault either. Theres no way they can handle that many people plus manning the bar alone.
Food was very good. The Korean Street food thing is popular. Street corn was good, not great. Everything else was super good. BBQ Nachos especially. Kimbap was also very good. Dumplings were fresh, but I wish they had more punch. I would definitely go back again - there were several things I want to try.
Friendly staff and great bar service from vyna as always. Diverse menu, have tried everything and enjoyed everything
I m a HUGE foodie. But I have never been to a restaurant where EVERY. SINGLE. ITEM. is impeccable. Like everything is delicious. Staff are friendly and music is top notch Love it here. I eat there almost biweekly
The first time my grandsons and I visited and we really enjoyed the service, atmosphere and food
Love this place ! Boyfriend and I go at least twice a month! Was my cravings throughout my pregnancy this year too! Highly recommend house bowls !!
Very delicious 1st try with Korean food. My son and I both loved the flavor of each item we ate.
So yummy!!! I ordered the tofu bowl couldnt stop eating!!!
This was my second visit with a friend from Cali ! We had a great time , the food and atmosphere was awesome . The customer service was perfect
When I was in Richmond, a friend took me to this location, and I still visit it each time Im in the city. In addition to having excellent food, I strongly suggest trying their boba cocktail!
Best bulgogi I ve ever had. The way they serve it is unique, and each bite tastes different and amazing. I m jealous I m not from the area I want more
Kogi is the best! Weve eaten in with a large group and also just two of us. This past weekend we got take out for 20 and the order was perfect. Vyna and her crew are too notch. And the food is so delicious. I have food allergies and they were great about it. Love this place.
I loved eating at Jkogi. My family and I have been regulars since 2014 and never once have we had any issues with service, but that changed after I went in (today). I had a rough start to my morning so I was looking for a pick me up and what better way to do that than eating good food? When I sat down at my table I was speaking to a nice older man when I heard Why you here for? . I couldnt fathom that someone was speaking to me that way let alone greeting me until it was repeated. At this point I knew the server was addressing me (some middle aged asian man) I sternly responded Im waiting on a menu, and he directed me to the qr code, which was appreciated, until he said You cant sit in here you have to buy and then went on a tangent about how I looked underage and I shouldnt be loitering. He then said I give you 5 mins until you leave. I lost my appetite right then and there. I proceeded to gather my belonging and promptly left. I dont know what restaurants service people like that, but I refuse to be served by anyone making assumptions about my character and my livelihood. I will not be eating here again and can only hope nobody gets treated like that then chooses to rip them a new one.
modern day racism in historic jackson ward smh
Great food and drinks. Only criticism is the poor girl working by herself at dinner time on a Friday night. Definitely wanting to go back
Definitely got to go back and try some different dishes before I can give my honest opinion. But overall they were okay. Next time I go back I will give an update on this experience. Food
Nice and relax atmosphere - beautiful presentation and very tasty food Parking: Parking.... yeah. Food : 5/5 |
Love this place, friendly staff
One guy was running front of house all alone but he made it work and the food was delicious
Cute little spot but pretty crowded if you go on the weekend. The food was good and the service was good, but I have had better tteokbokki because it seemed a bit hard still in the middle.
My absolute favorite Korean food spot in Richmond. The bulgogi bowl and the loaded bulgogi fries are a definite must. Never tried anything here that wasnt delicious. They also have a great selection of soju
Food was nice, nothing too crazy. The service was perfect though, Vyna really made the overall experience better. Honestly, its worth going just for her.
Pretty cool little dive bar. Sushi was good
house bowls are great, bibimbap customized to your liking
Love this place! Food was excellent and I love the divey feel.
my family loves this restaurant so much, the food is fresh and seasoned perfectly the workers are the sweetest especially our favorite worker vyna! my family and i would highly recommend this spot! Food
Its our second time coming in. Food was delicious like last time. We had a group of 11 and Vina took great care of us. Definitely coming back.
we were here for an event over the weekend & came the multiple times over the weekend beautiful and tasty cocktails, tasty food. super friendly service, our server Vy was very patient and sweet an she accommodated to us though it could get a bit tight when crowded & she was the only server and looked really busy. maybe could use another hand so it s less tiring for her? nevertheless a very hard worker Update: we came back & Vyna had served us again! she was lovely as always even though it was a tight fit again. hope she s getting the pay she deserves!! the food stays delicious as always, some of the tastiest corn cheese & short ribs we ve had in awhile. can t wait to be come back in town to eat & see our waitress again!!
Delicious food, great service, and an excellent Playlist. A great modern take on traditional Korean fare. Vyna was exceptionally hospitable and helped to walk us through the menu and find the best food. Short ribs were especially flavorful and tender. Would absolutely recommend
The food was amazing. The atmosphere is fantastic and the servers are amazing. Very nice. Explained the menu because I didn t understand what it said. The drinks were amazing too! Vegetarian options: There are dishes that have no meat in them or you can order a dish and tell them that you don t want meat in that dish. Or if it s a seafood dish they can make the dish without the seafood. Parking: You can park on the street for free. You just have to find a spot. They re normally packed there is a parking lot but it is paid parking. You have to pay a parking meter. I don t remember how much it is but it s right across the street from the restaurant
Food was great. The floor is in desperate need of repairs and to be fair they have a sign saying they going to be fixing it. Once they get that ironed out itll be 5 star worthy
Got lunch while we were in town. The dumplings texture was correct and the perfect temp and taste. I convinced my husband to try the Katsu Kimbap and he really enjoyed it with the FWA sauce! I got the Bulgogi bowl and each ingredient tasted so right. I did not like the donkatsu sauce as it was way too sweet, I ended up stealing some of the FWA which was too good. If youve ever had Korean this hits all the right flavors, if you ever want to try Korean this would be the spot. Portion sizes are well worth what they are charging!
The food was amazing! The Katsu Chicken house bowl had a good mix of flavors with the chicken having a nice crisp to it. For an extra $2 I had an egg added that enhanced the bowl. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were very friendly.
Overall a good spot. Very loud and happening, which made communicating with our server difficult, but was nice to see nonetheless. Got takeout, and everyone enjoyed their food(pork belly bowl, seafood pancake, and kimbap).
Food was great. Service was excellent
Kogi was everything I wanted and more. The food was delicious, the portions were large and everything came out pretty quickly. Our server was so sweet and attentive, even though she was running the bar and the front of the house by herself. Kogis vibe was cozy and intimate yet casual - I felt cool just eating there. Everything - from the food, to the service, to the ambience - was amazing. Highly recommend the pork belly ssam kimbap, house bulgolgi bowl and the pork belly lettuce wraps. Next time Im getting a soju cocktail and the pork tteokbokki.
I really enjoyed my meal at Kogi. I got a big bowl of food for a reasonable price, and the flavors melded together nicely. Our server forgot to serve our drinks, so gave them to us for free! Excellent service, thanks for going the extra mile.
Picked up take out. Waited 5 min past the time order was meant to be ready before going in, order wasnt ready yet. Waited at the bar for another 7 min before the bartender came back and asked what I needed, said hold on went to the kitchen, came back and said not yet. There were about 4 tables w/patrons, 1 man at the bar who had been there when I walked in. About 5 min later the bartender finally greeted the guy at the bar and took his drink order. Another 7 or so min later my food came out. When I got home I saw that theyd included kimchi in my dish which Id requested none of (bc I hate kimchi). Food was cold, but tasty after heating and picking out all of the kimchi
The food was amazing and the staff were really helpful!
The food and drinks here are so beyond amazing!!
this is a chill spot that will definitely hit the spot if your craving Korean. the food was hot (like you better eat thru the burn or let it cool down for 5 minutes hot lol). and it has the right level of spicy which I m happy for. I have the spicy pork belly bowl and I didn t have to use the extra sauce it comes with. next time I might leave off the cucumber (not a fan personally nothing against them) and the corn cheese which, in my opinion, is the best thing ever. service was okay. server was friendly but she took her time getting things but made sure we got the check fast. overall, I ll definitely go back then go down the road for boba after.
Good Korean food
Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for my dietary restrictions! Food
One of my favorite restaurants in Richmond! Food is to die for and the service is awesome! Very cute atmosphere
Kogi never disappoints! Delicious Korean food, kind service, good prices.
The Boba drinks were really good. But the food left me lounging for more. I had the katsu chicken kimbab and it was extremely dry. It felt like I was eating sawdust. I did not love it but I ate it because I was really hungry and most of the restaurants were closed on Christmas day. I ended up going to a Thai restaurant nearby though for my entrée because the appetizer I had here did not make me happy. The service was nice and they were open for Christmas so it s worth mentioning that and thanking them for it. But at least their kimbab needs lots of work before I rate it five stars
Delicious food.
Very yummy. Try the spam and egg kimbap!
Food was good. Different varieties. Got the kimbap which was good. And a beef bowl also very good.
Taste Korea, named! the mural is a Seoul scene like as well.
The pork belly was very delicious and the waitress is very accommodating.
One of the best local Korean restaurants in Richmond! Full bar amazing happy hour prices and rare Korean wine
I ordered the chicken wings for $9 and the pork belly kimbap, for $ 10, both of which were delicious. Food arrived in a reasonable time and warm. Packaging was better than average. Wings were large and Portions were just right. Food tasted like what I had imagined while watching countless K-Dramas. Will work my way through the menu as the prices, even with excessive taxes and other fees, are reasonable.
Great food bad service
Every option on the menu is delicious
Red Pepper Pork Belly was tasty. Lots of additional sauce options, good cost to portion ratio, nice atmosphere. Boba cocktails offered were unique. Service was great.
The Korean Corn dog was amazing. We got some mixed bowls and hands down best Korean food in Richmond!
1st timer!! And I am not disappointed ordering again for super bowl!!! I had the Kimchi Bacon rice with hard fried egg and Fire Korean wings! The rice was not like any rice I tasted before I want more everyday if I could. The Chicken was meaty and great flavor! Just the right spices and juicy!!! Please do your mouth a favor and order!!! It s all that and more Sorry no pictures because I F d it up! (Excuse my language) it was that goodtttt!!! You here me! I can t show the food but I can show the bag lol sorry it s tore into I could smell the goodness through the bag.
Fantastic food at a reasonable price. Stopped in on our way to a concert at The National. Fried pork dumplings were a crispy and delicious opener. My wife enjoyed her loaded bulgolgi steak fries and my short rib noodle stir fry was phenomenal. Perfect udon noodles in a spicy kimchi, honey, garlic and soy and huge chunks of short rib on top. Service was great, food came out quick and the meal was substantial and filling without breaking the bank. Highly recommend if youre down this way!
Wings, dumplings, bowls. Everything tasted extraordinary! Definitely will return.
The atmosphere of this restaurant wasnt my favorite, but the good was good as well as the service.
Went there to pick up a delivery. Very pleasant experience. Merchant was prompt and friendly.
I walk past here everyday to get my bus...so I decided to try....I got fried rice and the short ribs, which were described on the menu as FALL OFF THE BONE TENDER ...To my dismay and disappointment, they were barely seasoned and quite tough (they should have remained in the braising liquid for at least 30-45 minutes). I pride myself on being frugal....but for $32....and for what I got.... Im dead..... please do better.....
Art district feel, opposite of posh. Food is filling...and bowls might be 2 or 3 meals. Sooooo filling and great.
FANTASTIC food and great service! Ribeye bowl is the dish!
We completely understand a busy night, which is why we were patient, but we sat at the bar and were completely ignored for over 20 minutes. No acknowledgement. No hey how are you No hey well be with you shortly. We finally decided to leave when someone who had just walked in and sat at a bar seat next to us was immediately served water and asked what they wanted. Which makes us really wonder if there was a malicious reason we were ignored. We were seated right in front of the bartender, so theres no way she didnt see us. My friend asked for a drink and he got it but she neither confirmed that she was going to make it or asked the other 3 of us if we wanted anything. She just had an angry look on her face the whole time. Terrible customer service. Lost out on a potentially over $200 bill and a nice tip. We will not be back.
The food was pretty good, though $12 for kimbop is a crime, its like a $5 food at best. The service was honestly really bad but maybe it was just an off day because there was a convention nearby, Id try it again.
tasty food and tasty cocktails and came out decently even though it was packed, and the service was great!! we came during the convention so it was an extremely busy night. seem like it was a lot of work for just 2 people tho but they got to us quickly and were super friendly despite how tired they probably were! cant wait to come back next time in town
Everything I have tried so far has been delicious. The pork belly kbbq was delicious.
I ate here years ago at its initial inception so I had VERY fond memories of the deliciously cooked late night Korean food, especially as a student doing all-nighters. I came back recently and wanted to try it again since its now a proper sit-down place and honestly, was disappointed in the drop in care and quality. While you get an enormous amount of food, it really lacked a lot of spice you would find in Korean food. It just tasted like pure sugar and there was barely a hint of spiciness. Definitely quantity over quality. It did hit the craving for Korean food, but I had to add some of my own spices to balance out the sweetness. Kimchi fried rice was still pretty solid though.
I used to come here often and it was great! Its been about a year now and I have just come back and it was absolutely not great. Ive never had food taste like literally nothing, until now. I had the chicken katsu bowl and it was watery and just blegh. The chicken was dry. My partner had the short ribs noodles and the ribs had no flavor at all. The noodles had a taste for less than a second and then were bland. What happened? Our waitress was really nice though. So yay that.
That Korean fusion spot that fills that longing for that authentic flavor! A must return spot!
Neat place, Carlos is a great bartender.
Interesting take on Korean cuisine. Only complaint is that it took forever
The cheese fries were amazing, nice little local place, definitely worth going back to and supporting.
Carlos was very nice!
They closed an hour early. Threw a wrench in the first part of my date. The staff watched us walk in, look around, and waited until we asked where to sit to say they were closing the kitchen an hour early. Made us look silly. Wont be back. Food : 3/5
i ve eaten here many times and they re always amazing. hands down best korean in rva. tonight, however the food was unbelievably delicious. i don t know who all was working the kitchen but whew, they re my heros. skillfully cooked dishes, satisfyingly spicy kimchi, perfectly salted sauces, punchy picked veggies. 6 out of 5 stars.
This place was delicious and the food was out so quickly! Loved this place!!!
The food was truly outstanding, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. What truly enhanced our experience was the hospitality of the staff. They were not only attentive and responsive but also genuinely friendly. Food : 5/5
Amazing foods. We had bulgogi bowls, and it was really K-style. I will definitely try other foods soon. The restaurants vibe was cool. Of course, servers are very friendly :) I really recommend this place. Food : 5/5
The food is delicious and worth it.
We ordered 25 kimbops for wedding. The waiter insisted that they automatically charge 20% gratuity to our entire order. I was in a rush so I didnt bother expressing my discontentment. Just be sure to carefully look at your receipt when ordering a takeout. Unbelievable they would stick it to their customers this way.
Not good korean food but options are limited in Richmond. Got some kimbop to go and they were running over the expected promise time and gave me a hard time about it when I asked on the status of the order. Got the kimbop and was disappointed as it was very much an american style of kimbop and not authentic korean kimbop
10000/10 tastes exactly like my mom used to make and the prices rlly good as well, will definitely come back as often as i can!! Vegetarian options: japchae, kimchi pancake, and others! Wheelchair accessibility: one step up from the sidewalk at the entrance
The food was tasty and came out quickly, and the drinks we got were fantastic, will definitely be returning!
Good Korean food, reminds me of Seoul
Original Korean food. Everything was fresh, and large portions. I will be going back!!!
Pretty cool place. We were just traveling down 95 looking for food. The lettuce wraps was my favorite. The dumplings good and crisp. Pancake a little doughy. Service was polite. Rice bowl was quite large.
Ordered delivery and was highly dissapointed ordered the ttettoboki and only recived it with little amounts of pork and only 6 rice cake pieces its not worth wasting 22 dollars on
Food is good. Tables are little dirty
It was very busy during lunch on a Saturday. Carlos was a great server but was slammed since mostly all of the seating was filled and he was alone. Service would have been better if the restaurant was adequately staffed. We enjoyed all of the dishes we ordered. The pork belly Tteokbokki was deliciously spicy but had small amounts of rice cake and pork belly. Shrimp tempura kimbap with donkatsu sauce was good as was the spicy tofu jorrim. Bulgogi loaded fries was small for the price. Atmosphere was nothing special, tight seating and dark lighting.
Ive been several times and everything Ive had here is amazing. I love the honey butter wings so much. Every time Im in Richmond I want to go to KOGI.
Love the food here!
Love the bowls.
Best bulgogi Ive ever had! The food is consistently amazing, and Im never disappointed. The bulgogi, dumplings, and corndogs are a necessary try! I love coming here and will definitely be back. Staff is great and friendly.
Very bad food, horrible service and workers. Very very rude. They will turn you away 50/50 chance: depending on who s working and if there busy. there are much friendlier places in richmond. The lady seating and working bar just sucks. Last time I ll be here
First time in the city and we went here from a recommendation. Food was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxing.
Really great food, I love their bulgogi bowl! Service is a little slow when it s busy, but it s a small place so you ll get served real atícela quickly. Great music!
The red pepper pork belly lettuce wrap is fantastic! The Bulgogi Fries are also amazing. Great service and amazing food. This is a great grab in downtown Richmond.
My first time to eat Korean food and I couldnt believe how delicious it was. Cant wait to try some more.
this portion of sauce is shameful for a $17 dollar meal. specially when the actual food bowl is an good hefty size. Proportion is off. still a good meal >.<
The host was very friendly and the atmosphere was bar-like. I ordered the Korean BBQ lettuce wrap from the chefs special. Loved the flavor of the meat. I liked that it had plenty of lettuce to go with the dish. Many places usually dont do that that Ive been to. I also liked that the dish was served with garlic, onions, kimchi and peppers. Parking: Theres a parking lot close by that costs $4 per hour for 2 hours or wander around for free street parking.
Parking: Tight parallel parking, usually not many spots open Food
The bulgogi bowl was sooo good! They had a lot of drinks offer but the sodas we ordered tasted a little bit of chlorine and
It was a decent restaurant. really good Kimbap and lettuce wraps.
The best Korean food in Richmond and the service is amazing!
the food was good but we ordered boba drinks we were told would take 7-9 minutes, we were here for over an hour and never got them..
I ordered delivery. The food arrived quickly and warm. So good! Just the right amount of spicy. The pickled radishes are delicious.
Very small venue but the food was phenomenal. Staff did their absolute best with how slammed they were with a couple big events that ended at the same time. Prices were decent. When I travel to VA again I will definitely be ordering here.
Food was good, went on a very busy weekend and they were a bit understaffed.
They went out of their way to accommodate for my friends dietary restrictions and allergies Dietary restrictions: We had a lot of food allergies that were accommodated for!
Cozy little place with a great vibe. Food and cocktails were spot on.
The food was absolutely delicious and I really enjoyed my time here! The service was also excellent, though I will say they had one server servicing the entire restaurant. He did a great job, but maybe get him some backup?
Always delicious, casual, friendly service and one of a kind Korean food in RIC--that Ive found. Rating it 5 based on what it is--casual Korean. May take my number 1 for fav easy restaurants to go to and recomnend it!
I have eaten at this place several times and have really enjoyed it except for my last visit. The food here is really delicious and I always enjoy it, the service however has been very lackluster. I usually dine in so I m not sure if this is always the case but my last order I decided to order to go and had a pretty bad experience. When I walked in the place wasn t very crowded but I was not greeted at all I stood by the bar waiting to talk to a server or host but waited ~5 mins before anyone even said anything to me. When I told the lady I was picking up she just walked away didn t say anything back which was just kind of rude, didn t ask for my name at all. I waited a long while before I was even spoken to again, several people walked in behind me and asked how long I had been waiting and when I told them that it had been over 10 minutes they walked out to go elsewhere. It seemed like the restaurant was really prioritizing food for the customers inside because I saw several tables get food before I was even asked what the name of my order was. I understand that customers in the restaurant are probably going to spend more money and tip but you really can t just neglect to-go orders because this leads to losing loyal customers like myself. Finally after ~20 minutes of waiting I was finally asked for the name of my order and they stated that the order was now being prepared. I ended up getting my food well over 15 minutes past the time my order was supposed to be ready and my girlfriends food was somehow cold and had to be reheated. Honestly wouldn t have even left a poor review because I know that sometimes restaurants have an off night but as a local business your focus should be on providing good service and the employees did not reflect that. I felt ignored and unimportant, to-go orders should not be neglected.
Mediocre food for the price as well as medium to small servings. Servers are nice but we waited almost an hour for our food
our server was amazing along with some amazing korean food!! it was busy when we came in but she got to us as fast she could
Loved it. Went in with no expectations, asked for a recommendation and was blown away by the flavors (and portions)! Plan on returning to eat all the rest of the menu like Im gonna.
Waited 65 minutes to get my order of Kimbap.
Great food. Will be back for more in the future .
Cozy restaurant, hot and delicious food!
Quite a disappointment for all the raving reviews this place had Maybe I am just too used to the OG dankness of chicago authentic Korean food (where I grew up)?Maybe my good korean friend taught me how proper korean food should taste? Regardless, the meal, while enjoyed, was quite dull in its flavors. We got the seafood kimchi pancake, it was tasty but texture was too soggy. The Kimbap (sushi type rolls) were solid, we got shrimp and chicken Katsu. The biggest disappointment was the SoonDuBu, the classic Korean style tofu soup. It was lacking in flavor, the seafood was minimal, but still a nice dish to have on a cold Richmond afternoon. On top of the very AVERAGE food, the service was absolutely terrible. They had one person running the whole place, she was great and did the best she could given the working conditions she was put in. Unfortunately, this made the experience uneventful. The atmosphere was great so it was a bummer the food and service made this a place I WILL NEVER RETURN TO.
Was craving for Gimbap and found this place, its really good food and price imo! I got the Dak and Cheese kimbap (chicken and cheese), the Kimchi pancake is a little too salty for my taste but still really good, my boyfriend says the bulgogi wrap is also great as well!
Been here a couple times over the past 3 years and the food is always good but food items arent always available and severs never let you know prior to ordering that their out of something.
Amazing Korean food
The food is delicious!
Although service may take a little longer than some restaurants (due to a small staff I think) the food and drinks have been awesome everytime Ive been there.
First time there. Food was very good and service also. Its a small place so not too many diners but good atmosphere.
Needed a to go meal for my wait at the Richmond Airport and ordered chap Chae with bulgogi. A bit too oily but delicious and flavorful. The gal working the counter was very pleasant if Im ever back in town I will be back for some soup!
Ate here with a group of dining companions. We started with the Bulgogi fries on the recommendation of the very kind and excellent waitress. The dish toppings were very tasty the fries were a little odd, and had a weird aftertaste, probably from the oil. The short rib lettuce wraps were absolutely excellent. We tried two of the Korean sushi rolls. The short rib and the Bulgogi rolls were very tasty. This restaurant had a very fun vibe and the waitress/hostess was superb. We will definitely return.
