Lemaire is a New American restaurant bringing a fresh, modern culinary experience to one of Virginia’s most iconic attractions – The Jefferson Hotel, Richmond, Virginia. The menu features extraordinary Virginia grown ingredients and the Southern influences of Richmond's food culture. The unique structure of the menu will allow you to customize your experience each time you visit while our distinctive spaces - the bar and lounge, the patio and the dining rooms –make any occasion special.
What a deli holiday lunch with my lady friends! The atmosphere of the hotel was amazing. The food and drinks were very good. Our waiter was exceptionally kind and courteous, a real charmer. A most impressive outing. It was well worth the drive from the peninsula and Williamsburg.
We had the Thanksgiving 4-course dinner. The bisque was delightful with just a hint of sweetness. The salad was creative and delicious. The pumpkin dessert was good even for those of us who are not pumpkin fans. The turkey and mashed potatoes were moist and classic . The dressing was based with sweet potatoes and the sweetness in stuffing just didn't work. The ambiance was lovely and out server, Lisa, was exceptional. Overall, a delightful dinner experience.
We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The service was great. The atmosphere is nice, but the food was OK overall. The entrees were delicious. We ordered the snapper, salmon, and the burger. Those were great. There isn’t a great food selection, but if you’re a wine drinker, this is probably the place for you. We had the mushroom risotto for an appetizer. It was bland. The cheesecake pictured was the biggest disappointment. I love cheesecake and peaches and this broke my heart. My husband had the chocolate dessert and be said it was good. I’m sure we’ll return in the future, but we’ll forego the dessert.
Elegant dining surrounded by a historic feel. Quiet, relaxed and spacious. Staff was professional and attentive. The menu is broad and all selections were flavorful and prepared to the right temperature. We were so ready to dig in that I took the photos after the first bite! Our party ate Scallops, salmon and filet mignon - all extremely satisfied. Easy parking at the Jefferson Hotel or walking distance from the Quirk! Would highly recommend and would surely revisit.
We dined in celebration of Juneteenth today at Lemaire, a comfy clean restaurant tucked into the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond. We were exceptionally well served by Rick, and the three of us shared a massive and skillfully crafted luncheon which we contrived to spread out comfortably over the early afternoon. If there was ever a wonderful place to spend hours on a hot summer day, it is Lemaire. All portions are delicious and generous, and some are quite creative interpretations of classic recipes: the Caesar Salad is seldom a surprise, for example—but at Lemaire we all enjoyed its many facets! The six large shrimp of the shrimp cocktail were skillfully prepared and beautifully presented, and the fried oysters were too numerous to consume in a single meal. I did try—but the food overall was so good, I was lured on to the dessert menu. This seldom happens to me at lunchtime, but even as we lingered, we all felt that this was going to prove a very memorable day. As Rick observed very correctly, “You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!” I took just a few pictures rather too randomly, I am afraid, but the experience was quite whelming . . . .
Local publications Richmond Magazine and the Times-Dispatch have awarded Lemaire top restaurant accolades, and I now see why. For me, Lemaire compares favorably not only to RVA restaurants but also to restaurants around the country and the world! The Virginia-bred, French-trained chef adeptly applies traditional French cooking techniques to distinctly local ingredients, adding a healthy dose of his own creativity to concoct uniquely wonderful dishes! Between my dining companion’s and my orders, I tried the peanut soup, red pepper bisque, scallops, mushroom casarecce, strawberry-rhubarb pie, and coconut panna cotta. Among these dishes, I would have to choose the peanut soup and mushroom casarecce as my favorites, but I enjoyed everything! Throughout the meal, the friendly, attentive staff consistently provided insight on the dishes and historic locale, creating a highly-educational experience. You must explore the rest of the restaurant and hotel if you have time: the architecture and decoration will leave you speechless! All in all, a fantastic experience! I count myself lucky to live just a few hours’ drive from Richmond because I can’t wait to return to RVA and Lemaire!
Sara T was an excellent waitress! Our meal was absolutely delicious. I got the Caesar salad, barnyard burger, and pineapple upside down cake. My dad got the scallops. My godfather got the crab cake appetizer and chicken entree . We all thought it all was amazing. Definitely recommend! We also got 2x half bottle Champ Piper which was also good!
I had the pleasure of dining at this establishment with my spouse in celebration of our seventeenth wedding anniversary. The server provided exceptional service, ensuring that we felt valued and special throughout the meal. The pricing was quite reasonable, with the total cost for the meal and a bottle of wine amounting to approximately $100. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a suitable venue to commemorate a special occasion.
Found within The Jefferson Hotel, Lemaire is top notch. I will say that if you re trying to sit at the bar or stop and grab a cocktail (during the holiday/decorative season), it s a zoo. Highly recommend reservations for dinner versus waiting to get a drink. We had 3 courses each. Apps :: raw oysters and trumpet mushrooms with duck confit. Oysters were fresh, briny, and had perfect accoutrements. Trumpet mushrooms were atop beans and duck confit and were perfectly seasoned and homey. Dinner :: lamb shank and beef tenderloin. Lamb was fall off the bone with a succotash type hash. No room for improvement. Beef tenderloin was tender and well seasoned. The jus was amazing - wish there was more! Mashed potatoes were also great. The broccolini was really good. I liked that it still had a bite to it. The walnuts were an odd addition. Perhaps if they had been chopped and served more like a gremolata, it would have worked better. Dessert :: eggnog cheesecake and chocolate gateau. Hubby said cheesecake was alright. Eggnog flavor but not the greatest texture. My gateau was 5 star but VERY rich. I thought it was perfect, but I could only eat half. You could get a side of ice cream with it. I did not. Hostess and server were both great. In all, everyone s goal is to make sure you re taken care of. Definitely don t miss coming here if staying or in town.
Candi took very good care of us and made sure our Christmas dinner was special. The food was top tier as usual. The wine list was wonderful. If you have a dinner here I highly recommend requesting Candi as your server. Her flexibility, people skills, and positive attitude is what made our dinner special and took our dinner experience to the next level.
Our server was Jacquie and she was delightful. We came to see the Christmas decorations and it was a great evening. Be sure to park at Jefferson Hotel owned parking and get it validated at dinner. We didnt do that.
There are way better restaurant options in the Richmond area for the price of the food. I ordered the beef tenderloin for almost $60 and there were only two small round pieces of tenderloin on the plate. The potatoes were very bland.
Go for the peanut soup and the ambience! Beautifully decorated during the holidays.
Everything was wonderful until a large group was seated next to us and were laughing so loudly despite being asked to tone it down that we left without dessert or coffee.
Special attention was given to each aspect of our dinner on a recent visit to Lemaire Restaurant. The entree s and side dishes were prepared precisely and thoughtfully with select food groupings and seasonings to create an unbelievably savory taste. I had the crispy fried oysters and rock fish which I would love to have again. We requested one dish to be modified to accommodate my wife s vegetarian palate and that one change caused a noticeably missing intended flavor. Every other dish and side dish from appetizer through a delectable pumpkin cake dessert was a carefully constructed masterpiece. I sent back every plate completely clean. We were seated in what appeared to be a bit of a musty reading room authentic to the building which was ok, it didn t smell musty but seemed like it could have had a fresher appearance.
Ambiance was absolutely amazing, but honestly food wise I feel like this place is a bit over hyped. Definitely had better similar menu in other places.
Had a wonderful dinner during our stay at the Jefferson Hotel. We ate at the bar and Greig the bartender was attentive and helpful. We were deciding on a wine and the sommelier Nick helped us pick one and was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was excellent. We had the crab cake, shrimp cocktail, gazpacho, scallops and beef tenderloin. Everything was 5 star. This hotel and restaurant are worth going out of your way for!
I was entertaining out of town guests within a few hours that worked for us, and I thought Lemaire may be the one to represent Richmond. I was thoroughly disappointed. The service was simply awful for a restaurant of this caliber. The hostess was arguing about a simple fact - how many guests have arrived. She was wrong but no apologies given which left a bad taste. The server seemed rushed. Food was okay but definitely not the best I have had. I probably would not return.
Sat us behind the bar at 1130am and we listened to the cling clang of silverware for 30 minutes! If youre not ready to open to noon, then dont open till noon. Waiter was pleasant, not very seasoned.
We were staying at the Jefferson and stopped in for a cocktail around HH time and later in the evening for a small bite. The staff is great.
I had the most amazing breakfast experience this morning for my anniversary. The hostess and the waitress went above and beyond to make our celebration special. When we arrived, our table was beautifully prepared with flowers, which was such a thoughtful touch. They even surprised us with champagne! The highlight was the French toast, which came with Happy Anniversary written in fruits such a sweet and delicious gesture. Every detail was perfect, and the entire staff made us feel so welcome and appreciated. Thank you to everyone for making our anniversary breakfast so memorable. I truly enjoyed my time there, and I m incredibly grateful for the effort that went into making our day special.
We had a delightful meal, in the historic dining room. Cocktails were fun (my husband thought his was a small pour). Crab cake was DELICIOUS, the Manakintowne Farm Lettuce was fresh with a local flair and the ancho chili rubbed salmon was good but the farro stole the show. Best part of the meal was the peach and frozen cheesecake dessert. We finished the night wandering the hall and looking at the staircase then took a visit to the bronze alligator. Fun night in a beautiful opulent hotel rich with history. I want to go back for high tea.
My place. Never disappoints.
Always fantastic especially the gazpacho and crab cakes. Our server was great and knew we were in a time crunch as I needed to get my colleague to the airport. He paid particular attention to the time for us. Food
We got the chocolate brownie and peach cheesecake from Lemaire and both was SO good. We also had breakfast the next morning and that was delicious as well. Great service.
Absolutely perfect, across the board.
This is old school elegance and really good food. Add in the amazing spaces at the Jefferson and its a must do for anyone in Richmomd. Popped in on. Saturday afternoon at 3:00 to take advantage of the bar menu/seating. Burger was outstanding! Great service too.
Delicious menu and beautiful atmosphere inside The Jefferson Hotel. Had lunch here. Lemaire proper was closed but being served in the downstairs area, TJ s Restaurant. Salad greens were fresh and the mix of ingredients was delightful. Parking: Valet is easiest option, though there is typically space on W Franklin St.
rather disappointing. Felt as if I was having lunch in a retirement home. The food was above average but nothing outstanding. The service staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, but then, we were the only party (of two) in the establishment.
Great service and presentation! I ordered the Smoked Salmon Royal for breakfast. As I slowly sliced the egg and anticipated a warm runny texture, I was disappointed to find it was slightly overcooked. If the egg was poached properly, it would have added better quality to the dish. Instead, I relied on the redeeming quality of the Hollandaise sauce combined with a deliciously smoked Salmon. Also, the fresh fruit was a plus.
Fantastic risotto, steak was cooked perfectly. Will be back!
Omg the food was some of best Ive had in a while. Service was amazing and they made us feel so special for our anniversary. They made us custom menus we got to keep. Food : 5/5
My wife and I read a review about Lemaire and decided to visit this weekend. The ambiance was outstanding, as its part of The Jefferson Hotel. The food was great and reasonably priced. My only recommendation is to make reservations for high tea online through The Jefferson Hotel to get the full experience.
Food was delicious, staff were amazing and personable
Great experience, wonderful food, special menu , fine drinks. Oysters , crabcakes and burger all excellent.
Awesome in Jefferson Hotel
Parking: Parking is in a secured lot across the street. The restaurant will validate (or cover) your parking fee. Recommended dishes
Server was attentive. Food was delicious! We go for birthdays and anniversaries.
If youre looking for a historical experience and amazing food, definitely visit Lemaire! Pop by for some dope peanut soup, check out the alligators , and instagram yourself on the beautiful staircase. Quit messing around and get some south in your mouth right now!
Stopped in for a snack and a glass of wine before a play at the Altria. Delicious food and excellent service as usual!
Came here for a celebratory dinner. Service, food and atmosphere were nothing short of amazing!
It was the perfect evening, from the atmosphere down to the food & drinks. Dietary restrictions: Multiple gluten free options that are delicious. Food : 5/5 |
The staff that welcomed me when I first walked in were very kind people and the restaurant itself was beautiful. As for the food, we waited 50 minutes for 3 burgers and a salad to come out, the place was pretty empty so I m hoping it s because they handmade some things. The Lemaire burger that I ordered was not the best for $17. Instead of the use of fresh sliced tomatoes, they used tomato compote which I was not a fan of because it made the bottom bun really soggy; it was hard not to pick it up and have the bun fall apart in your hands.. it was messy. I love a burger that has a little more meat-to-bun ratio but the patty was just too excessively big. Overall I was pretty upset with my lunch. The total price for our lunch meal was not worth it. Not to mention the $12 tax! I m aware it s inside of a hotel but I think it s a pretty upsetting thing to see on your bill after not enjoying an expensive meal!
Love this place!!! Highly recommend especially if have guests from out of town!!
The Champaign Brunch at the Jefferson is always 5 star!
I took my mother here for dinner recently and we had a great night out. Katherine was our server and she was amazing! Definitely will come back.
First of all this is a beautiful hotel and restaurant. Atmosphere, atmosphere! I shared my salad with my daughter while we waited for the main course. The filet was melt in your mouth tender and was so delicious! I ordered cooked medium and it was spot on.
Food was perfect, service was great, and it was all in the Jefferson Hotel, which is a pretty impressive place all by itself.
I want to give a big thank you to the team at Lemaire for going above and beyond for our special 40th dental class reunion this past weekend. Melissa was extremely accommodating, helping to arrange the perfect setting for our intimate group and our server, Julianne, was exceptional! Everything from the atmosphere, beverages, entrees and desserts were top tier. Job well done and we will be back soon! Thanks again for making our reunion so special. Dr. Herb Hughes
Great lunch prices. Loved the Cuban and blt. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Gorgeous hotel. I suggest making a reservation.
I had wanted to dine here for a while, and it did not disappoint! Located in historic The Jefferson, the ambiance is simply divine. From start to finish, the food met all expectations, which were high. Well done.
My first time there was an Amazing experience?
We stop every year on our way south.
Great food in beautiful location. Service was a C. For a restaurant of this quality, it was a failure. Not sure I would return. When you pay these prices, you expect exceptional service. We got mediocre
The service makes you feel special. We went for an anniversary and they made custom menus for us with our names and number of yrs married. The food was outstanding. Delicious layers of flavor with each offering allowing for forkfuls of varied composition that were simply delightful.
Came from Virginia Beach and had a perfect lunch. Very worth it on this rainy day
We had high tea at the Jefferson Hotel and it was grand. Each of our quartet had a little teapot with the tea of choice. The food was tiers of small sandwiches, scones and chocolate cakes. Just wonderful.
Pricey but worth it! Very tasty and attractive appetizers and drinks. Friendly and professional staff. The setting is stunning.
Really enjoyed my meal. Atmosphere service was wonderful. Thank you.
Nice bar to see and be seen.
Delicious!! An amazing night with my love! Lisa and Katy the bartender staff were amazing!!!!
Visiting on business from New York and we re recommended Lemaire for dinner. Everything was absolutely amazing, pretty much just ordered what our server Bunny recommended, who was also awesome. Appetizers, mains and desert were fantastic and the price really wasn t crazy. Would absolutely come back.
The food and service was great! My friends and I went for a little brunch and there wasnt a long wait at all. I definitely recommend the fries, they were so good!
I visited Friday 2/2. Our reservations were at 6pm. Our visit was to celebrate my partners birthday. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was calm for it to be evening. I ordered the Green Circle Chicken Breast . This was the best chicken I have experianced to date. Moist cooked to perfection. For our appetizer we ordered Tamarind Glazed Beef Short Rib . This was the best part of our night. I have made reservations for Mothers Day Oh and the resturant was able to personalize our menus.
Andrea and Kiana were excellent, they made our visit exemplary!
The food was really good. I think I was expecting a little more based on all the hype.
came for breakfast, the hostess was extremely rude. the only upside was the good food and cool ceiling.
Wonderful experiene overall. The rockfish was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive, and provided excellent service. Joe was also a great example of the high quality staff you d expect at such a historic establishment. Look forward to coming back!
The Christmas drinks were wonderful! Merry Christmas!
Visited here for Christmas and had a lovely time! The food and drinks were delicious and the portions were wonderful, especially considering the caliber of the food. The lamb shank was absolutely to die for. Our server, while very polite and helpful, was slow and frequently we had to ask her multiple times for refills on water, new silverware, the menu for desserts/cocktails, and our tea. Eventually we gave up on the tea and it still showed up on our bill. Not a big deal but it was a bit frustrating. However, when we reminded her she was apologetic and very friendly about removing it. Overall a great time with great food and so glad we did Christmas dinner here!
For a supposedly high class restaurant the service was terrible and the food mediocre at best. It took an hour to get a second drink and the bartenders worked hard to ignore our request for another round. Go to the Jefferson for the atmosphere but no the food or service at Lemaire.
Delicious food and outstanding service.
Very pretty for the holidays. They were slammed on Christmas Eve, as expected, and we were lucky enough to slide into the last bar seats for one round of drinks. Super fast service even with how busy they were. And beautiful, richly flavored drinks! The pink drink in the martini glass is the Under the Mistletoe - bitter and delicious! My group also ordered a Manhattan (very good), a Sazerac (good), and a glass of prosecco. The faucets in the ladies room cracked me up. There was a hot and hot in French (chaud) tap on the same sink. The chaud tap was appropriately cold.
The food is always impeccable as well as the service, the friendly staff and the grandeur of this magnificent hotel. How lucky to have this Grand Old Hotel in our city and it keeps getting better and better! Im never disappointed! Best Christmas decorations also!! Best Gingerbread House in my Memory!,
Our Christmas lunch was very nice. The atmosphere, food, and service were exceptional.
Superb food and service. A Richmond treasure. Parking: Pay lot next to the hotel. Free with validation from Lemaire restaurant Food : 5/5 |
While a gorgeous venue, I found our meal and experience underwhelming for the price point. The host wasn t particularly warm when we arrived. Our waiter was friendly, but as someone who s not a wine aficionado, I was hoping for a little more guidance on a wine selection (bottles range from $60 to $500). I will say the Manakintowne Farm Lettuces with Virginia Apples was my favorite part of the meal. It s large enough for 2 people to share. The sauce on the beef tenderloin was delicious, but as someone who can eat almost anything, I could not touch my broccolini (and I love broccolini)! It almost had a seafood flavor I could not put my finger on it tasted off. The cookie butter cheesecake was wonderful, but it is definitely dense, so if you re already full, consider something lighter. I would go back, but there are other restaurants in Richmond I would choose before Lemaire for the same quality of food at a better price. Vegetarian options: There was a pasta vegetarian dish, but most options contained meat.
Lunch was better than dinner there. Especially the fried oysters. Did wait a bit to get served in the bar, but once we got recognized, service was good.
Wow! Forst time. Loved it. Needs more options for people with food allergies. They did a good job of accommodating me with the limited options. Ask for peanuts and olives, yum! Excellent service too
For a 5-star restaurant in such a historic location, there is so little creativity in the menu. I wish this hotel would motivate their chef or get a new one to really raise the caliber of food at Lemaire. Very boring menu with nothing really to be excited about.
Historic landmark.
It is always a joy to be there. It made my day great!
Great service - people and food! We had a terrific breakfast here and a couple drinks and snacks at the bar the previous night. Parking: Use the valet at the Jefferson...
Cant believe I missed a visit to the Jefferson until now.
The food was tasty, but not creative. I feel like the menu could be spruced up a bit. Had fried oysters they were delicious. My son had the tenderloin, very small portion, somewhat dry. The waitstaff was attentive and professional. The atmosphere was very elegant. Feel like its a good one time experience, unfortunately wont return.
Ben was the best server. He took such good care of us. Wine choices were plentiful and real good. Food was on point at all meals, breakfast and dinner. Really enjoyed the experience Food : 5/5 |
Beautiful and the food was delicious!
Excellent food and our server Ray was marvelous!
Lovely place at the bar/lounge area for a glass of wine. The appetizer menu is limited so we ordered a small meal from the dinner menu, otherwise would give this a 5. Great ambiance, and while we were underdressed (was a spontaneous stop in and we were in jeans/sweatshirts) we were made to feel welcomed.
Dining at Lemaire was truly a memorable experience, and I would give the restaurant more than 5 stars if I could. Without exception, every dish my party ordered was scrumptious and beautifully presented, truly a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Shout out to Lemaire s awesome kitchen staff (Zach, Cody, Liam, Matt, Peter, and Svetlana), and to our delightful and exceptional server Sean. My sincere thanks to you all for a lovely evening! Very much looking forward to a return visit the next time I m in Richmond.
Everything was excellent!
Great
This is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. We have never had a bad experience. The food is simply exquisite!
Great
You should make it more obvious that only guests of the Jefferson are allowed to eat here.
In the bar for a quick drink
One of my favorite restaurants in the city.
My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary here with a wonderful, enchanting lunch date. The atmosphere was perfect. The restaurant itself was gorgeous. The food excellent! And service wonderful. All around just a superb experience. Will definitely be returning.
Our first time having breakfast here. It was every bit as wonderful as the dinners weve had here before.
Great place to celebrate an anniversary or special event. Incredible service!
We had made reservations at a tea house across the street, but when we arrived, were told they had no table for two since they had over-booked. No problem since we walked across the street to the Jefferson Hotel and were able to get a table in the lovely Lemaire Restaurant. We enjoyed delicious fried oysters, lump crab cake served over grits, sauteed spinach, and bernaise sauce. They were also serving tea at white clothed tables outside in the mezzanine that had beautiful silver settings. We will make a reservation for tea at the Jefferson Hotel next time! I
A great graduation dinner for our son. Very accommodating restaurant, personalized menu for him! Starting with strong drinks and finishing with one of the best crème brûlée desserts around! Highly recommend this place.
Here for Mother s Day, not busy at all. Drinks took 20 mins, food tastes moderate but not many choices, service is truly struggling!!!!!
Second visit, Lemaire is nothing short of fantastic. Such a great vibe. Fantastic food, stellar service.
Treated like royalty, served like royalty. If youre dining to impress, you really cant beat it in Richmond.
Over the top opulent
We thought the food was slightly above average. We ate earlier ate Rappahannock Oyster House and felt that meal better. The service here is amazing. The atmosphere matched the service.
I took my wife here for our anniversary. The atmosphere is amazing, and the waitress was phenomenal! You must try the peanut soup.
Huge fan - we sat in the lounge area and really enjoyed the whole thing. I was feeling a burger and really loved it. Excellently executed. One of my new favorite places in RVA if Im feeling a meal I dont mind paying a little more for, but still reasonable for what I got.
Beautiful atmosphere great bar appetizers
historic yet modern atmosphere, delicious portions, and wonderfully attentive staff
Beautiful dining room. Food was good, but not exceptional (it was room temperature). Excellent selection of wines.
Perfect place for special occasions. We loved our visit and the food and service is excellent! Coming back for sure!
Our waiter Jacob was great. In the top tier restaurants in Richmond...for food and interior spaces. Vegetarian options: I am pescatarian and they have that covered. They will adjust to meet your requirements.
Delicious food!
Super great experience, the food is truly some of the best in the city.
Great food and service.
Another great dining experience with great food, service and atmosphere.
My daughters and I live locally. July 14, 2023 we treated ourselves to dinner and a night at The Jefferson in celebration of my survival after cardiac arrest. To say the food, drinks, service and atmosphere was exceptional is an understatement. The food was the best we ve ever tasted and alone worth the splurge. The Service was both professional and friendly with an added personal touch I ll forever remember. I wish I had caught his name but the young man ( restaurant employee) that walked over to our table and commented on our special occasion will forever be remembered for his kindness. Thank you Lemaire and The Jefferson.
My wife has had her Birthday Dinner at Lemaire three-years in a row. Every time we go the food is perfect every time, great service and over all great atmosphere!! Fantastic chef!!
We had the most incredible experience at Lemaire. Sean was our server and we can t say enough good things about him. He made sure our night out was special and we could not have asked for a better server. He was attentive, professional, courteous, friendly, and made our night so memorable. The food was also amazing - highly recommend the mussels, scallops, and bread pudding! - but you really can t go wrong with whatever you order. This was one of the best meals we ve had in a long time. You won t be disappointed! Dietary restrictions: I had an allergy and they were very accommodating and made sure they knew exactly what the allergy was.
My wife and I dined at Lemaire last night and had the most wonderful experience. The ambiance of the Valentine is unmatched, as is the service we received from our waitress Morgan. My wife has a gluten/walnut allergy, our waitress was very understanding and informed us on which cocktails and menu items included walnuts/gluten. When dessert time came she described each dessert beautifully and we were greatly pleased with the Bread Pudding. Her professional, yet personable and pleasant attitude was by far the most remarkable we ve seen yet! As for the food and drinks, excellent as well. From the salads to the scallops, to the bread pudding everything was plated beautifully and came out in a timely manner. Cocktails were made well and presented very nicely. From the moment we were seated to the moment we left everybody had a warm welcoming attitude. I definitely recommend everyone try this restaurant!
I would have expected the food to be no less than a 4, but closer to a 5. Steak was more rare than medium rare. It should be able to stand on its own, but the steak sauce could not help. Ive had better fried oysters. Service was terrific. Sean could not have been better. The atmosphere is spectacular. I hope my initial experience before dinner is not impacting my review, which it is not, but when the hostess tells you they can provide some readers, then 15 minutes later, say they cannot, but then the waiter says they can. Have no idea what that was all about. But it was not helpful.
5 all the way. From being greeted from the parking all the way. Greg and the BAR staff outstanding. Kevin who looked after us at dinner was so informative on the menus and wine choice. The evening was just perfect and one that will remain with us when we return to the UK thank you.
Delicious food with a beautiful ambience. The beef tenderloin was excellent. Our server Travis was very kind. This is a great place for a romantic evening or a special occasion!
Luxury and comfort, what we deserve.
This has been my favorite restaurant for the past 10 years! Exceptional Food,Service & Atmosphere! (FSA) I love taking visitors here when I want to flex on my company! Im never disappointed! Food
The Lemaire is top-notch in every aspect!
Went to a wedding reception here, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Travis who worked the reception and cocktail hour remembered my wife and I dont drink and provided plenty of options and never made us feel without. Was a great experience
Great food! Flavorful and affordable. Customer service was amazing and the ambiance was spectacular.
Service was excellent and the food was perfect.
Everything was delicious. I had the chili rub salmon which was as good as Ive ever had.
Birthday Dinner for my Daughter and her husband. It was simply the best, from appetizers, main course of Scallops, amazing collards (southern style) delicious crème brûlée, birthday cake not to mention Wine and Bourbon! Benjamin was our server, very attentive, gracious and answered any questions we had. Love the hotel and its grandeur, it s a must and love going there, such a happy Birthday . We will be back for Thanksgiving
Service was not at the level set by the ambiance & menu. Food was average but ambiance and hotel are beautiful.
Great food and atmosphere! Lori provided excellent service!
Some of the worst service for the price.
This was the worst. Came for our anniversary dinner and fell prey to a server who went out of her way to make us feel unworthy to be allowed to dine there. My husband was kind enough to save me from her constant belittling by requesting a different server who, rather than look down his nose while attacking us, simply didn t think us worth his time. The food was lukewarm and under-seasoned. After Detron spent the night ignoring us, he flew over and dropped off the check before I took my first bite of dessert and was gone never to be seen again until the absurdly high bill was paid. $500 was a small price to pay to be rid of such over-indulged and hateful people. Genuine and authentic folk: just go anywhere else. Foodies and seasoned epicureans: do not be lured in by the false promise of a fine meal. Richmond has so much more to offer and I ve got so much more to be thankful for a wonderful husband who would never treat me or another human being the way this place did. I guess we weren t white or wealthy enough.
Please make it clear everywhere that you menu is valid only after 5PM. We made all the way to the restaurant just to find out that they serve only snacks!
Had breakfast here and the food was good and the hotel is gorgeous! Only thing that didnt go well is that they dont accept Discover credit card.
It was truly an amazing experience. Decided to check them out for my birthday, and the fact that the hostess and the waitress knew was an extra touch. They even printed my name on the menu. Food was amazing. Served with no rush, warm, and extremely tasty. Their drinks and wine menu were also excellent. We will definitely come back.
Got a bad oyster -- gross. Food seems a bit ordinary for the $$$$ price and location.
Thank you to the staff at Lamaire especially Sam and Andrea! My daughter s bridal shower was just beautiful. Library room was perfect
Lemaire serves very good food, but it is at a premium price. The service was attentive. I thought that the entrée selection for lunch was somewhat limited.
Excellent experience. Food, service, and atmosphere were all top shelf.
Great Food and Service!
The food is exquisite, and the servers are first-class. Our family always books a table here every time we are in Richmond, and we have always been impressed. The chefs find a way to elevate traditional dishes to a new level through their creative touches. The elegant setting in the Jefferson Hotel makes every meal a special occasion.
Wonderful dinner at a beautiful and historic location! Dietary restrictions: One of our party had a severe shellfish allergy that our waiter noted and discussed at the beginning of the meal and stayed vigilant about throughout dinner.
Excellent service and food. I had the Herb Roasted Rockfish and it was amazing. They let me substitute winter squash veloute instead of the bacon lardons. My meal was absolutely delicious! Dietary restrictions: Was able to substitute item that I didn t eat.
Phenomenal restaurant in Richmond. Can t go wrong.
The food was excellent. The beef tenderloin melted in your mouth. Not one complaint.
Food is excellently prepared. Staff is attentive and friendly. Never a disappointing experience.
Drinks for my birthday. Its a classic. Xmas decorations are over the top, worth the visit.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary. The food was wonderful, and the service exceeded our expectations.
Overall we had a good time.
Excellent place, atmosphere and service. Enjoyed the crab cake and oysters options.
We have our company Christmas party here every year. The bartender and hostess remember us. Everyone is wonderful! Parking: I appreciate driving up to the door and then my vehicle being at the door when I walk out. You simply text the valet when you finish dinner.
During Christmas holiday season, they get booked up very quickly. Therefore, if you want a specific date and time, you better make a reservation months in advance, maybe even more than half a year. The restaurant is located inside the hotel on the 1st floor, right of the main entrance. The hotel is splendidly decorated during Christmas season and it makes for even more memorable experience. Besides the fabulous ambiance, befitting of an upscale restaurant, the service is impeccable. Food while delicious, well prepared and superbly competent, is not quite sublime. Maybe I am being bit too harsh here. Price is on par for an upscale restaurant but not ridiculously overpriced like some celebrity chef driven places Ive been to. Nevertheless, it is definitely worth a visit for any special special occasions.
Great food.Excellent designs. All around Great service.Overall great place.
Great decor during Christmas. Their old fashioned is my favorite
Takes half an hour toget a drink at the bar. Poor service, bartenders attitude is substandard
Mark was our bartender and was friendly and professional. The Jefferson was wonderfully appointed in full holiday regalia! Well done! I will be stopping back in to pick up a robe!
Sunday brunch is always a delight! Today Mr. And Mrs. Santa Clause were there . What a treat..for ALL!! Experience this one time, if you have to mortgage your house to do it...it is THAT special!
Amazing food. Jared was great.
Great food, service, attention to detail, and atmosphere! Christmas decorations are beautiful!
