A church hill historical landmark turned family style restaurant
The food was great. Everything had great flavors. The atmosphere was lovely and lively
Love yall but you really need to seat your bar for one or two tops when they come in and your bar is completely empty. Why am I waiting to sit at an empty bar at the same time as a regular table? (It took 15-20 minutes to sit with 11 empty seats at the bar and 3ish high tops with 1 bar patron?) Makes no sense. You are losing money at an empty bar and I'm trying to give you my money. Or maybe you ought to train your staff to handle higher volume. But other than that nonsense, the staff is amazing, drinks are great, and food is comforting. And Jess at brunch - sitting at the bar - is the absolute best reason to go.
The server was amazing. She was kind, attentive and so so helpful. We had a group of 8 and the salads and entrees were delicious and coming from NYC, you cannot get better food at that price than this place. The only thing keeping me from 5 stars was the mac and cheese. I think someone forgot to season it. Everything else 10/10!
Liberty Public House has some of the best drinks I’ve had the pleasure of drinking in a long time. I had the Pink Pony Club and the Take Me to the Keys Please and both were delicious. We ordered the loaded fries and they were delicious, as was the hot chicken sandwich I ordered. The gouda mac was lacking in flavor so I wouldn’t recommend that. I wish service was a bit more attentive because it was my birthday and I was trying to get a buzz on but our server didn’t come by often enough, she also looked like she was working the bar so maybe they’re just understaffed.
Such a great spot! Excellent food and drink options. I got the vegan version of the RVA Hot chicken and it was delicious. So good I went back the next day and had it again!
We were spending a night in Church Hill and stopped in on Sunday for a late lunch and some drinks. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the bartender work like crazy making a variety of their specialty cocktails. We also tried a few and they were very good. The menu was huge and it was very hard to pick. We ended up splitting a chicken sandwich and a burger, both smothered with pimento cheese. They were both great, I liked the chicken a little better. Shoestring fries and sweet potato waffle fries were the sides. The sweet potato waffle fries were some of the best sweet potato fries I've had. The restaurant has a fun eclectic vibe and fits in well with the reinventing of the Church Hill neighborhood. We'd love to get back to try more dishes.
If you want literally the best hot mac you've ever tasted you need to go to Liberty Public House. Their happy hour is also bomb (I'd recommend the RVA style fries and the honey habanero mule!)
First time here and already planning to come back next time we are in town. Fantastic cook on the brussel sprout appetizer and the fried chicken on my sandwich. Everything tasted wonderful. Service was excellent. Attentive but not over bearing. Prices value were great.
My husband and I had the vegan Cheeky Chicken with fries and it was amazing! Great small town atmosphere with good service. Best vegan chicken sandwich I ve ever had.
Party of 4, and everything we ordered was great. Firing Squad drink is very good. Service was great. Would definitely come back if I were in the area.
Sometimes i like to get on google and good things that i want for lunch and i like to try new places so today i was in the mood for a burger and fry for lunch so i googled best burgers in rva for lunch and this place came up and it was relatively close 4.6 stars , its located in a dense area with little to no parking available luckily i found a spot right out front upon walking in i was waiting patiently to be greeted i felt invisiblefor s bit , eventually i was acknowledged normally in these places i get stares instantly and you can hear the silverware hit the plates and tables vibe wasnt that much off , i kept my order simple burger with a egg fry and tea , now the sweet tea almost saved my experience it was just what i needed a on sad day honestly it picked me up unfortunately for me i only got 1 refill the fries were cooked really well the burger however was bland nothing a little salt and pepper and ketchup couldnt help with it was a bit dry and leathery the atmosphere overall wasnt bad given the fact i dont like being around people i was able to eat kinda in peace and just enjoy my self care day . Would i go and try it again maybe it depends my experience will not be everyones experience if you are looking for a quiet little underground pub this might be your spot overall 2.5 stars for me with room to improve
Great spot for a burger. Also great happy hour specials. Staff are the best! Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids here Food : 5/5 |
Great food, great service, great price couldnt ask for more.
My family loved this place! The happy hour was amazing and was so the food and the service! We wish this place was in our neighborhood. They were so kind to ours kids and we appreciated their hospitality. Highly recommend!
Really nice
Cute Lil place with good food and a good Playlist. I like the hot chicken a lot.
Delicious!! We grabbed seats at the bar and had delicious food - Bavarian pretzel sticks, a turkey burger with mac and cheese, and hot chicken sandwich with fries. Everything was beyond wonderful! Also- we will be back for all day brunch!! (Every day they re open, all day. Whaaaattt!)
Wheelchair accessibility: They have a lift to get wheelchairs down to the dining area Food
Always delicious! Fun cocktails, great food, and some of the best fried pickles
Great people and food. One of the few affordable places left in CH. Please, please please start carrying a brownie sundae! You all would smash it! Food : 5/5
Chose randomly bc it had vegetarian options and was close to the interstate. The service was great, the staff were friendly, atmosphere was inviting, and the food was the best Ive had in forever. I will definitely stop back by whenever Im in Virginia!
Delicious food and friendly people. The food is definitely worth the money.
getting a little hit or miss but I havent given up on them yet
Food and service was superv
Great location, friendly staff, inclusive vibe, and fantastic food. The brunch menu is especially good! 10/10 would recommend!
AUG 2024 - This is an update, as requested by the owner. I came by for a workday lunch. This time, the food was well prepared, tasty, and timely. The sweet potato waffle fries were especially good. The hostess and wait staff were attentive. I will try this again for dinner. DEC 2023 - Yeah, the atmosphere is fun. And the menu accommodates omnivores, vegetarians, and vegans. However, at least the night we were there, they did not have enough wait staff, and the food was remarkably bland. I was disappointed, especially relative to other positive reviews. My advice is that if this restaurant intrigues you, try it once, and hopefully you will have a better experience. I m not sure about a second try if you don t like it, however.
Brunch: menu too large and print excruciatingly small but friendly attentive service in a pleasantly casual, open & well-cooled space. I am however perplexed by a business strategy to limit & pace the seating of walk-in diners (no reservations are taken) to avoid overwhelming the kitchen. The overly extensive menu (6 Benedict dishes for example) is responsible for the kitchen load. I wd suggest an 8.5 x 14 menu with larger print and fewer items, staffing appropriately and filling the restaurant as business allows. A wait with ~30 open seats without much of a walk-in wait list or offering reservations is inexplicable and potentally off-putting to the average diner. It is also a poor business model. To Brunch diners I suggest ordering any item with Poached Eggs only before noon as they will likely be served over cooked thereafter.
This is the third time that I have gone to LPH and was told there is a wait for the bar even though there were 7 seats available at the bar: Not only this there were at least 5 tables open. Are you kidding me!! Can t go sit at a bar that is empty? What a joke: I was a manager at a high end restaurant and I would have never turned anyone away or told anyone you can t go sit at the bar there is a wait. So we journeyed to another local restaurant where another couple was there saying they had the same experience! We will never be back and our friends have said the same thing. It s sad to think that a neighborhood restaurant can t handle more than half a restaurant full. Strike three your out!!
Amazing food and drinks!
Amazing experience here and had the GIANT Breakfast burrito. That thing was something special and our service on this past Sunday was a blessing. Very kind and sweet! Grateful for your restaurant!
Favorite spot in RVA
This place was downright and credible. Such an extensive and unique menu it was so hard for me to decide. I chose the burger with the red eye bacon spread on it. Oh my gosh I think it was the best burger Ive ever had. There was really way too much to choose from but thats a good thing. I wish I lived in the area I would be there quite often
A great local restaurant at a moderate price point. In keeping with its history as a theater, you can even order popcorn.
Everything was great!! only place I ll eat chicken wings n crab balls from!!
Dont order french toast...poor imitation! Salads are great. Waitresses are stretched too thin.
Will be returning!
First time at this restaurant. I ordered the French toast, grits, eggs w/cheese, bacon , and orange juice. Waited approximately 10 to 12 mins for the to come out. Once the food was brought to the table , I noticed my eggs didn t have the cheese that I requested. I informed the waitress, and she went back into the kitchen and eggs w/cheese were sent out to me. My orange juice was warm, I put a few ice chips from my water into the orange juice. I then ate, the eggs weren t the best nor were the grits. The French toast was okay. Got home within 30 to 40 minutes, my stomach started turning. I started feeling sick. Experiencing stomach cramps, nausea, and the list goes on. I couldn t sleep this particular night due to fever, nausea, etc. I than decided to get up & go to the hospital. Where I was then put on IV fluids, medication, & of course I missed time from work. Still today, I m back & forth to a GI Dr. This has to be one of my worst restaurant experiences, has me afraid to eat out again.
Delicious food and excellent service! Plenty of street parking close by, and amazing Pride month specials. Some decent vegetarian and vegan options too!
Excellent service, friendly, not rushing you... efficient. Good food. Best if you come from 3-6 pm specials
Tried this place today and it was one of the best restaurant experiences I ve had in Richmond!! We went at noon on a Saturday and only waited about 15 minutes. The restaurant and the waiting area stayed full but it never felt too loud or crowded in there, just the perfect amount of liveliness for us. I got a mocktail and The Winston with pesto pasta salad, and it was delicious. I could ve eaten an entree sized portion of that pasta salad and hope I get to someday. Knowing this place was lgbtq and women owned made it even better. We will be back
Epic $10 deal for a chicken sandwich, fries, and a tall boy on Thursday. Chicken sandwich was delicious and vibes were good overall. Nice lowkey spot
Loved it!!! The sweet potato fries are a must have. Love that they have many vegan options!! Vegetarian options: I liked that the veggie burger is pea protein and not soy.
Used to be good, but the last few times Ive been the food was awful, cold, and the service was poor. They also started doing drag shows during dinner hours. I have no ill feelings towards those people, but I dont want to see that when Im trying to eat either.
Food was Service was superb Will definitely be coming back. Recently every place Ive been to has been a disappointment, but this place is a gem. Food coma. Kid-friendliness: Good options for kids
Excellent food and drinks. Good sized menu. Absolutely want to come back and try more.
I love everything about this place! Everything we ordered was delicious. I had the country benedict, which was outstanding. My husband ordered the chesapeake benedict, which was also amazing. The home fries were great and the serving size of the cold brew was more than enough for one person. Service is great, we were there for hours and were not rushed even once. The atmosphere is relaxed and dimly lit. Best part of all is that we barely had a wait time on a Sunday at noon. The menu has something for everyone. Will be returning.
Give me Liberty or give me death!!! I felt like death leaving this place. And you will wait for your food to hit the table... Man, let me start by saying, Table of 4, holiday weekend, kick off, so the team decided to grab lunch together, COOL. I am a 1st and LAST timer...... My order: Ol Faithful (scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, biscuit, and hashbrowns) I wanted a side order of pancakes. Well, the waitress wanted to give me an entire pancake meal, and I asked for just 1 side order (a la carte). The pancakes only (side order) were $12 for 3 that were not edible. Photo: My food and pancakes were dusty dry inside. Couldnt cut with a knife. They were tough. At clean up, I found out it was gluten-free. No thanks Others: enjoyed their meal, one inhaled the burger, not sure if she tasted it. Everyone eats, and we are heading out, returning to the office. Instantly, I needed to sit down and center myself. Felt loopy, headache, nauseous not just me, all of us!!!! One took a 15-minute nap to try to bounce back, I am flushing with water, and the others are in the bathroom. So, notification are being made to our job because something is clearly off and we all are not sure what is going on....we left the office and directly to get lunch to return directly back to the office. ( I fast until 1100hrs, this was my first meal for the day) The best way I explained it, feeling loopy like when I eat Chinese food and forget to tell them no MSG. Nothing on the menu states cooked with MSG. Called the location just to check if they cook with MSG, Alexia/Alexis (manager) heard my issue, quickly put me on hold to check a sauce they cook with; returned to say no MSG in the building. But you have a sauce you cook with, ok. Yeah, I will pass on this one. You all enjoy, thou...
We absolutely loved the food that we ordered at this place! Our server was great and it was a super chill atmosphere. Im obsessed with ordering grits out and about and the two different versions that we got did not disappoint! Definitely plan on returning!
Unique place to eat. Good food and friendly staff.
Great place
Welcoming and delicious! Classic southern informed American food salads, snacks, sandwiches and more. Interesting and wise ranging beer selection. A great happy hour spot. Breakfast all day!
Very slow, food was good not great. The table was cleared and ready, but the lady still said it would take 5 minutes to seat us. WHAT! The handicap access was broken so anyone unable to make it down the steps would not be able to get to a table. We saw our table was almost ready to we moved down to where the rest of our party was by the bar and the hostess literally told us not to crowd the bar. We had no issues with pur waitress mostly the hostess. Kid-friendliness: Was not getting the feeling they were thrilled to have kids in there. Wheelchair accessibility: NOT at the moment.
Great atmosphere, very large food and drink menu. Great ,easy street parking. Very friendly staff. A must go to, especially if you dont want to deal with parking in carry town
The wafflettes amazing...
Avoid avoid avoid - the food here was not good and took ages to come out. I waited for like 40min for a simple southwest salad that consisted of like 50% black beans. My fiancé s burger also wasn t pink like he requested and didn t taste great. Really disappointing after waiting so long.
FRICKLES
Great go-to place for a quality casual meal and a great beer list.
Fantastic brunch place! Theres usually a wait, so be prepared, but its worth it ( we only had to wait 30 25-30 min, so we walked to spotty dog to get pre-brunch ice cream). Tons of options for any dietary needs. The RVA Hot Chicken sandwich is amazing, I got it vegan and it was seriously one of the best things Ive had in a while.
Great drinks, snacks and time!
Im not usually a bar food person. But the food here is surprisingly tasty!
One of best spots in the whole city. Pretty much everything on the menu is incredible. The Thursday chicken sandwich special is tempting every week!
Consistently fabulous food, best place in Richmond for pub fair excellent drinks as well
The Liberty House had a small waiting area, but they take your phone number in case you wait outside or in your car. There is only street parking, so you may have to circle the block to find a space. We were so hungry by the time we recurve our entree I forgot to take pictures. I ordered the LBH scramble with everything bagel and hasbrowns. Delicious and very good-sized portion. Will return and hopefully remember to take pictures.
Kimbo is one of the best servers in town! Vegetarian options: Veggie fried chicken is out of this world! Wheelchair accessibility: Lobby is raised, and theres a lift/elevator that takes you to the lower level dining room.
First time there. Service was good. Quick, friendly. Food, hot & plentiful..A bit off beat, no problem. Will go back.
This place is always great for lunch / brunch! I love their shrimp & grits, plus any of their fried chicken sandwich options, as well as their frickles. Plus the restaurants location in the basement of the old theater is pretty cool, too!
Food was delicious! 12 year old ate every bite and still wanted more even though he was full. Waitress Isabella H was amazing, help make decisions about what to get! Great local place with AMAZING food!!! Kid-friendliness: Great place to go with family and kids.
1. The BEST wings in Richmond 2. Great staff Food
This is a surprisingly good place hidden in an old theater building on the outskirts of the main part of Richmond city. Liberty Public House has put a spin on pub food (not healthy food per se but a bit more upscale and not as greasy). The drinks were good - several people in my party enjoyed the lady Belle, which features Belle Island lemon lavender moonshine (a local business with great flavors of moonshine). It was like drinking a very smooth smoothie. So good. I also got the loaded fries RVA style, which I used as my meal vs. an appetizer since I didnt have lunch. The fries were not greasy at all, and the pulled pork and drizzling of hot sauce and cheese sauce were delicious. There are a few vegan options for those who want or need them. Several items can be made vegan, so check the menu and specify when you order. The Brussels sprouts are one of those options and are a huge portion. I am not a fan of fried pickles, but I hear that the frickles are highly recommended here as well. The hot chicken has a nice spicy coating for those who want a little heat, but its not overly spicy, so its not a burning mouth kind of experience. Overall, this is a great option for a meal when you are in the area. Parking: As with most downtown restaurants in the Richmond area, you will be curbside parking along the street. Just double-check for signs, and you shouldnt have to worry about being towed or anything. No meters, free curbside parking.
Great food, great fast service, and an amazing atmosphere to boot. Will definitely be coming back to this place. Great food variety too!
Great food with some unusual choices. Had 6 at the table for brunch and all walked away very satisfied. Service was excellent as well. Looking forward to returning soon.
Excellent biscuits!
Great service. Plenty of GF items. The food was excellent.
Our waitress rushed us, was not friendly AT ALL, and didnt to come back to our table to refill drinks etc. The restaurant was empty literally one other table was sat & that s all, so it s not like she was busy. The food was just average & they charged us for mayo & honey mustard, I have never seen that when you dine in. The drinks were terrible, way too strong, and not balanced. We spent $80 & tipped $20 for 2 burgers, a chicken sandwich and 2 drinks, I couldn t even drink my Bloody Mary so we sent it back. That s a $100 wasted- take my advice and just skip this place.
Favorite place in town. Make sure to get the hot sauce. Also great gluten free options
Wings and spinach dip was delicious! So Cal Bagel was amazing! Nice atmosphere. Will be back for the chicken and waffleletts.
My favorite spot! The hot chicken sandwich absolutely slaps every time and I havent had a single thing on the menu I havent loved. Their cocktail menu is also to die for.
Cool little neighborhood, dive bar type place. Food was delicious, especially the chicken sandwich. Chili also good but wished it had come out warmer. Definitely need to be early or will have to wait for a minute.
Great little spot in church hill. Food was fantastic and tasty. Only issue is one person for the wrong patti on their sandwich and my chicken was a bit over fried.
They close at 9 on Fridays so be mindful!
The food was absolutely amazingly delicious!! You get great sized portions, quick service and awesome staff. Good was reasonably priced and the owner was going around working with the staff which we really cool to see. If youre in the area I recommend trying this place out. Wheelchair accessibility: Has a wheelchair elevator and spacious walk ways
Great!
Great food, great drinks, great service!!!
Busy brunch on Sunday, the place was under staffed in the back but did NOT feel like it. After a quick 20 minute wait we were seated and treated great, food was fast and hot. Honestly, a huge credit to your kitchen!
First off, Whoa! The food here is amazing! I have yet to order anything that I wouldn t have again. This is the spot we bring visitors to when they re in town. The service, the food and the drinks awesome! If you haven t been here before do yourself a favor and stop by.
Everything about this place is awesome...the staff, the food, the drinks and the atmosphere. HH everyday is on point as well
Great community watering hole!! Next time youre swinging thru Churchill take some time to unwind at a fabulous Happy Hour! And stick around for the food ....Delicious!
Loved the grits and shrimp. More so the grits. Bloody Mary was so so. This was brunch, will try dinner though.
Boy, I wish we had this LPH near us! I would eat here at least once a month just so i could try every item on their menu. It was hard trying to decide what to get. My family tried the Gouda Burger, Gouda Mac, chicken Gyro w\spicy feta, The Winston with a side of pimento cheese (i think its homemade), a bacon cheeseburger, fries, & jicama slaw. Wowsers! It was delicious! The fries were cooked perfectly. The slaw wasnt over-sauced. Burger patties cooked perfectly & gyro was perfectly balanced. I also had a pint of Ballad, an Irish ale. Very good. Just FYI, they serve brunch the whole day!! It was very hard to choose our meals.
I have actually been here a number of times since Ive been in Union Hill. Every time I stop in for a drink and a bite to eat has been phenomenal. Service is prompt and courteous. The food is fantastic from brunch and dinner! Even the bar service leaves nothing to be desired. If you are looking for a place to relax, in an interesting atmosphere, with great food look no further. Liberty Public House maximizes the former theater space to provide an experience that is truly exceptional and enriches the Hills of Richmond.
Great vegan and vegetarian options - the vegetarian Hot Chick n sandwich was stellar! For meat eaters - the AC Smash was bomb. One of the better fried chicken sandwiches I ve ever had. Gouda mac n cheese was excellent as well.
Always a great local spot for good beer and good food! Been going here for years and there happy hour every day is icing on the cake for this place!
I have enjoyed everything that I have eaten here. I go here because they have vegan options. The service is excellent and the people are friendly. There is a vegan option for the Vegetarian Hot Chickn and its really good! The last time I ordered the Fried Tofu it was a bit too salty (and I like salt), but the batter was still delicious. Vegetarian options: They have a several vegetarian and a few vegan options
My wife and I had dinner here. Last time we visited was a few years ago when it was under different mgt. We had the sprouts appetizer which was very good. My wife had the chicken plate and I had the Philly with fries. Both were very good. Service was very good as well. Would definately recommend this place and well be back.
Best brunch in Church Hill, hands-down. Large portions for the money and incredibly friendly and accommodating wait staff. Theres usually a bit of a wait, but its completely worth it.
Great neighborhood restaurant with a fairly large, reasonably priced menu that caters to all types and dietary needs. Vegetarian options: Lots of good vegan options. Dietary restrictions: Many gluten-free options, including pancakes
A very busy brunch! The food was fantastic and fresh!
Tried a dish my daughter recommended it was the sweet potato chili. This was delicious. My vegan friend loved it also.
Delicious food and tasty drinks. Place has a great ambiance.
Great food and service
Really excellent food.
Excellent! I loved it. Good food and great atmosphere.
Great food, great service!
Good food, reasonable price. Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options. Food : 4/5 |
Loved the pimento cheese and pickles! The Philly cheese steak with hot sauce was also amazing. The wait staff was super friendly and we got a free Pride flag!
Restaurant is in the basement of an old movie theater. The food and service was good.
Great bar, great food, great wait staff and bartenders
Great food and great service!
My first time and it was yummy The staff was fun and attentive. The food was great and seasoned well. Definitely will be back again for some more Moscow Mules. Vegetarian options: There were vegetarian options.
Stop by traveling through town. One of the best burgers I ever had! Great service and clean atmosphere. My new go to stop anytime I m passing Richmond
Nice little dive in Churchill.....
I love eating here so relaxing and the food is ready good. Breakfast all day FTW!
Chicken and waffles very good. It was nice and hot.
Great place to eat and enjoy your time
The food is delicious and the service was fast and friendly! I had the biscuits and gravy, and it tasted like good home cooking! And great value for your money.
Dope, very good food.
Went in for Sunday for brunch. Ordered a few drinks and the deep south benedict it was . Drinks good food good, a little understaffed but they make it work.
Stopped at Liberty Public House while visiting the area. It has a great selection of beers, sandwiches, and small bites, and even catered to gluten-free guests. We were very happy! Dietary restrictions: Doesnt have a dedicated menu but accommodated gluten-allergy.
LPH is a great option in the east end. Its one of the few places where you wont feel cramped by other diners. Food is delicious, and service is good. This is also one of the few places in the neighborhood families can feel comfortable. They have coloring books for the kids and the space protects parents from worrying about impacting other diners. Kid-friendliness: Very few restaurants in the neighborhood have the space and attentiveness to accommodate kids.
Great food and environment!!
The food and service here was great! They have lots of options and all day brunch. The prices are very affordable as well. I had the Buffalo chicken wrap with mac and cheese. The chicken was so crispy and the mac and cheese was 10/10! I definitely recommend this place.
LPH is a must visit while in Richmond, truly a gem of a restaurant. We take all of our out of town guests here. Almost everything can be made vegetarian or vegan and their menu has everything you can think of. Staff is always friendly and prompt and are so accommodating to dietary restrictions, they will go out of their way to accommodate! Must try! Vegetarian options: Super accommodating to vegetarians!
We had Sunday brunch here, before heading over to St. Johns Church for the reenactment. The food was good. Service was prompt and friendly. The only complaint Id offer is a compliment: the place is so popular we had about a 30 minute wait to be seated.
Great place to eat! The burger I ordered was perfectly perfect! Our waitress was helpful, and welcoming. Menu has so many creative, & tasty sounding dishes. A real gem of a place. Food
Excellent, excellent, excellent! Vegetarian options: Awesome Vegan Options! Food : 5/5 |
We come here all the time and the food is always amazing
Service and Food were great! Highly recommend chicken and waffles with a side of the RVA hot sauce to dip the chicken Parking: Parking is all curb side street parking. Find an available space, then walk back to restaurant.
Great neighborhood restaurant. The personal is genuinely kind and friendly.
I can honestly say we have been to this location about 8 times. Nothing ever changes. With that I mean the good parts. Food is excellent, staff very nice and atmosphere. Only thing thats more than likely completely out of their hands is finding a place to park. Wheelchair accessibility: They actually have an elevator for wheel chairs. Great asset for someone who cant get around as freely as most.
Love the brunchallday, excellent!
Great inner city/neighborhood spot
master tier don says food here is dog doo doo
Went on a selfie date and wanted to try something new. My daughter will sure be upset that she did not tag along. Checked in with the hostess at 12:45 and was seated at 1:20. Was waited on at 1:30 and order shrimp and grits. As I sipped my hot tea and honey I waited for the entree. Food arrived at 1:43 and was hot and good definitely will come by to try more of the menu
Cant go wrong here. Go to spot every time I fly onto Richmond for work. All the food is amazing but with breakfast served all day Im consistently satisfied. No complaints.
Food was good. Nice vibe
Love coming here. Servers have been great and the food is always top-notch. Wish they still had a delivery option, but it s worth the trip every time.
Great restaurant in the neighborhood with fun vibes, a tasty menu, and great happy hour specials. Ive come twice now on chicken night, and have left satisfied with the food and drink. I enjoy the atmosphere and look forward to coming back and exploring the rest of the menu!
Great food. Awesome happy hour. Good drink selection. Very family friendly.
Vegetarian options: The RVA Chik n Sandwich is delicious and the chick n is very similar to the real thing !! Food
10/10 Would absolutely dine again! Amazing vegan options! Phenomenal service! Excellent Ambiance! Our server was so accommodating, she went the extra mile to ensure our food allergen concerns were fully addressed! The Bavarian Pretzel Sticks were DELICIOUS! The spicy aioli was DEVINE and paired well with the Red Pepper Dip as a delightful complement to flavors. I ordered the Vegan Jalapeno Cheese Burger, they had unfortunately sold out of the vegan burger patty, HOWEVER... this turned out to be a happy accident! They subbed out the Burger Patty with a Vegan Fried Chicken patty and I could not have been happier if I tried!!! This place is absolutely PERFECT! Vegetarian options: The options I noted were not only vegetarian, they were vegan! Dietary restrictions: A considerable number of Vegan Options! Wheelchair accessibility: Theres a wheelchair lift on the premises.
Excellent Brunch & Lunch food, Fantastic craft drinks. All 3 in our party loved their food & service experience!
I was VERY disappointed to be served margarine and maple flavored syrup, not real maple syrup and real butter, with my Chicken and Waffles. Servers were awesome, will return despite the condiment failings!
Wonderful, local pub with good food and service.
PNW chicken sandwich was delicious!
Just okay.
Ive been here a few times while visiting Richmond and every time Ive been blown away by how good the food is. Definitely go for brunch!
Best fried chicken sandwich ever!! And, I am not even a fan of fried chicken sandwiches! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the music brings me back and makes me happy, and being greeted by the owner, who wanted to reassure me that I would love this chicken sandwich, even though I don t like chicken sandwiches made me feel at home! Although I only visit Richmond 3-4 times yearly, this is a place I will come back to! Thank you Liberty Public House!
Fourth time trying to go to LPH and have a positive experience. The food is always good, brunch all day is a positive, but the staff always seems miserable. Ended up leaving without being served just because the atmosphere was so depressing and they couldn t wait to close at 10 am right after they opened.
Made a to-go order for a picnic at Libby Hill Park. Highly recommend the Gouda Mac!!! Food was delicious
The Buffalo chicken wrap is to die for! Will definitely be back! Service was also great!
Rude staff. The waitress looked in my eyes and ignored me multiple times when i was trying to order a cup of coffee. Food was cold. Took too long to come. My So Cal Bagel didn t even have the stuff it said in the menu. Arugula was missing. Drinks were overpriced and nothing special. Food the same. Was our first time, won t come back and don t recommend it.
Drinks were very overpriced, service was unbelievably slow and the food was burnt and would not recommend.
Great food, great service
Liberty is my favorite breakfast spot in Church Hill, a true neighborhood gem! Their portions are generous and prices reasonable for both dine-in and take out. I love that they have breakfast all day too
Very good experience. Tasty food, fast service. The seasonal beer was good. We tried the Sweet Potato Saison, Czech Style Pils, Pumpkin Cider, and the Cranberry Gose. All good, but our favorites were the Pumpkin Cider and Saison. Kids had chicken nuggets, burger, and macaroni and cheese. All were good and included lots of delicious fries. Adults had South of Philly sandwich and Texas Beach bowl with chicken. Both were ok. South of Philly was good for my husband but a little small. He had sweet potato waffle fries which were good, but would get Mac n cheese next time. Texas Beach Bowl was good and flavorful. Salsa made the dish. Chicken in it was adequate at best though.
We stopped at Liberty Public House during a road trip and it was an amazing experience! I wish we lived here so we could come all the time. The food was delicious and the staff was so kind to our rambunctious toddler. The vegan burger is top notch - probably the best Ive ever had! Vegetarian options: The vegan burger is amazing!
Ive been going to LPH since they opened. Initially, they took a while to find themselves, but now theyre always a delicious delight. Wheelchair accessibility: Though its downstairs, they have a little elevator for guests that cannot navigate the stairs.
Great space, staff, menu and vibe. Oh and food too! If I lived in town this would be a regular spot.
Neighborhood staple since Ive lived here. Not surprisingly, theyre busy on weekends and (gasp) charge money for drinks. Id highly recommend.
Gf and I got food poisoning from chicken tenders yesterday and was throwing up violently. Not the best way to spend a Sunday evening
Great pub fare and good drink/beer menu. Solid brunch offerings!
Awesome hang out spot - stopped in for a beer and lunch on a Saturday while killing time. I sat at the bar and the bartender checked on me regularly and made sure I had what I needed. Food was excellent (SW Chicken Salad), and the beers on tap were great too. Im coming back for sure! Dietary restrictions: Easy to make substitutions for GF / Vegetarian for majority of items on the menu where possible
I call this place the ol reliable because it s always open when I need it most (especially when everything else is closed). Nothing outstanding but it s good basic comfort food with quick and friendly service.
