I love it here! Such a wonderful spot, especially in months when you can eat outdoors. A great spot for those with kids- there’s a park right there. The pizza is my favorite pizza around and the toppings are always so perfectly distributed. Can’t go wrong with any of it!
Delicious vegan pizza and vegetarian pizza ! The staff is lovely and the decoration and ambiance is on point. Perfect spot after a big hike, lots of hikers were there !
Tremendous potential here but our pizza was very burnt. Not just a slightly charred crust I'm talking thick layer of carbon. This level of carbon is just bitter and inedible. Pretty sure the sauce leaked through the bottom, very bitter.
By far the best pizza I've enjoyed in Vermont and it ain't close!!! I always say ingredients, spices, and other herbs make the food so much better, and these people nailed it. So many great flavors, the most kind and friendly staff, welcoming and comfortable environment including the outside patio is perfect for social settings. Bravo to the chefs 👩🍳 👨🍳 for baking great pies. Not to mention, they have great beverage selections from local businesses. Can you guys move a little closer to where I live??? That's my only complaint
There is a nice outdoor seating area. It seems to be first come-f8rst serve self-seating. It was a very hot day, so I opted for the dining room. I ordered a small cheese pizza and a Reed's Gingerale. My meal was less than $20. I was there around 6 PM on a Sunday evening, and it was not particularly crowded. There is a parking lot on the premises.
We were here for the Great American Eclipse, they had a special eclipse pizza, some beers and a wonderful afternoon hanging out with the crew that work there. Everyone had a wonderful time. The pizza is absolutely delicious and I know you will too!
This place was incredible - they had an excellent selection of wine/beer and their pizza was INCREDIBLE. The aesthetic and atmosphere was beyond impressive, coupled with the service and beyond friendly staff. After a long day of skiing at Bolton, my wife and I loved every second of our meal even waiting for it to come out. A++.
Staying outside of Burlington, we wanted to try some local eateries outside of town, and we were thrilled to find Stone’s Throw! Ordering was a sinch with the QR system, and the staff was very friendly! The outdoor area is gorgeous, and the perfect spot to enjoy our meal. We ordered the arugula salad and 2 pies, which were SO GOOD! The care for their craft really shows here, and we can’t wait to come back again!
Best pizza around! Amazingly delicious. Marvelous, friendly, attentive staff. Hands down our favorite restaurant in the area. Nice menu choices, and you can customize any of them. Also has tasty GF option! And good beer! Couldnt ask for more. Must reiterate attentiveness of staff. Seems a rare commodity these days... Dietary restrictions: Delicious gluten free dough Kid-friendliness: Indoor and outdoor seating, right next to the park w a playscape
Unexpected pizza delight on our way, highly recommend
Really bummed to post this. The reviews were great about this place, so I m wondering if something drastically changed recently. Party of four, we dined in and were the only people in there. The first pizza took 30+ minutes to come out, and the next three came out in 10 minute intervals one after another. The dough was visibly undercooked in 3 out of 4 pizzas and the chicken was kind of scary looking on the two pizzas that had it. All the pizzas just tasted bad. One pizza was gluten free, and I cannot implore someone enough to avoid the gluten free dough. It s hard enough and expensive enough to find good gluten free pizza please just grab an Udi s pizza from your local grocery store. There s an automatic 17.5% gratuity applied to each bill no matter party size, and that s probably a good thing because I definitely wouldn t have left 17.5%. Our server didn t check on us once the entire time, which was confusing because there were at least 5 staff behind the counter and no other customers dining in. Pro: the wine was great! If you re looking for a place to grab a glass, ours were greatly enjoyed and thoroughly needed. If one pizza was bad, I could chalk it up to a random bad experience, but all four pizzas prevented me from being able to do that. I honestly do want to believe that somehow this was just a fluke, because the other reviews are glowing. I am hoping it s just a one-off thing. But if you re looking for excellent, reliable pizza, I m sad to say I can t recommend. Dietary restrictions: I mean they have gluten free pizza on their menu! It s definitely an option that exists! It s on there!
Best pizza Ive had. Seriously delicious. Cool space, too. Worth the stop.
My wife and I recently got to provide the music for this wonderful place. Because we play all over VT we get to experiece the service and food at lots of different restaurants, and this one is top notch! Not only is their support for live original VT music very much appreciated, but so also is their friendly, positive and professional service! Most of all, though, their pizza is really, really delicious :) Great people making great pizza!
A beautiful setting for some good pizza. They had quite a few beers, ciders and wine on their menu but were lacking in their non- alcoholic drink options, only sodas, not even sparkling water.
Highly recommended!! This is my absolute favorite place to bring my kiddo and enjoy delicious pizza, salads and wine. We come here all the time and bring family and friends. The wallpapers and over all feel of all their locations are so whimsical and beautiful. 5 stars!
Exterior tables should have waiters/waitress for service with regular dishes and silverware not take out accessories.
Such a beautiful space! If you are visiting, definitely sit outside by the garden if you are dining in. And the door to the restaurant is magical. Pizzas are generally pretty good as well!
Fantastic vegan mozzarella. They also have house made vegan sausage but I havent tried it. Great beer and wine selection. Lots of outdoor seating.
I am incredibly disgusted that I was charged a $10 gratuity fee for take out on 2 pizzas! As someone who grew up in the food service industry, I would understand this kind of charge if it was a party larger than 6 people for DINE IN! But this is just blatantly outrageous. Even though the food was great and the staff was friendly, We will not be returning simply for this fact. PAY YOUR WORKERS BETTER OUT OF YOUR POCKET, NOT THE CUSTOMERS.
Great pizza, nice atmosphere with the Richmond beer garden. When they have live music, it s even better. One of the best spots around for local ingredients, funky toppings and overall relaxing vibes.
Dietary restrictions: We have a family member who can t eat garlic, and Stone s Throw makes some great garlic free options. Imagine being able to get garlic free foods at a pizza restaurant! Food
Great pizza place, good live music good pizza, self order, no tips.
We had the BLT 16 in. It was really good. The service was great.
Disappointed with the two large pies we got. The base crust was too thin and got very soggy. The slices were so limp they needed to be rolled up and eaten like a sausage or use a fork. It also took about 40 minutes to get said soggy pie. Please get better Stones Throw in Richmond. Parking: The lot is paved now (nice). Cannolli was OK.
Great pizza. Great staff and amazing atmosphere in the village of Richmond. I highly recommend it ohhh .. AND their canolli is outstanding!!!
Great pizza option in the area!
Highly recommended, the pizza was great and the beer list equally great. The atmosphere felt like a balance of both energizing and relaxing. It has indoor and outdoor seating. It is a great place for kids being right next to a park with play ground. Kid-friendliness: Restaurant has an Outdoor area, next to a play ground and park.
BEST PIZZA IVE EVER HAD!! Staff was very helpful. (I am deathly allergic to an ingredient and asked if it were in anything my friend and I had ordered. The woman checked immediately in front of us.) Order at the counter and choose your beverage at the counter. The non-alcoholic drinks are on the counter. The alcoholic ones are in the cooler. Note that the non-alcoholic ones are cold, too. Youll pay at the counter, too. FRESH INGREDIENTS!! They deliver your whole order to your table. The restaurants atmosphere and decore were lovely. There was music, but thankfully, it was not loud. Conversation trumped everything. 100 on a scale of 1-10 and 10 being excellent! Look forward to eating their food again!!
Great pizza. I usually go to the Fairfax location, but glad I found out this location is just as good!
Great pizza, space for dine in/outdoor seating. Delightful atmosphere. Little wine shop as well.
Awesome environment good service, great wine list and extraordinary pizza. Vegetarian options: Good
So many incarnations of good restaurants at this location. Stones Throw has a great vibe and great food. Cozy interior for the winter, comfortable outdoor seating for summer.
The pizza and salads are fantastic! And the canollis are delicious. The staff was so busy and handled the customers needs so well under pressure. Well be back!!
With the option to sit outside, beer on draft, and great pizza, I am glad I finally tried Stones Throw. I will be going back often!
Best Pizza in this area
Great food, pizza is fantastic. Employees are nice people and locals, right next to the river and have beautiful views of Richmond. Many different accommodations for everyone with food issues/dietary restrictions!
Pizzas are consistently interesting & delicious. Highly recommend the pizza with baba ganoush. Feels a bit on the pricey side though.
I was not expecting much in terms of pizza in Vermont, visiting from Philadelphia area. This was such a charming place with an interesting menus as well as the basics. Sitting in the garden was so lovely.
Amazing food and scenery! We were eating right near the garden, and next to a playground which is kid friendly! I would recommend eating pizza here. Kid-friendliness: Playground near restaurant
A unique place in the heart of Richmond. Their creative topping options are delightfully original. Vegetarian options: Theres a menu section dedicated exclusively to vegetarian pizzas Parking: Big enough to safely get an RV in and out if youre traveling through the area. Kid-friendliness: It is right next to the town park and playground, they share a parking lot.
Delicious pizza. Went for a birthday and tried a bunch of different pies. All were delicious!
Best pizza in the area! So many tasty options, all with an artisanal crust. Highly recommend the Forager and the BLT. Kid-friendliness: Its kid-friendly since its next to a playground, but adults also can enjoy their meals with a glass of wine in the garden.
Stopped on our way through town and tried the Hunter pizza. It was fantastic! Would recommend to anyone.
Absolutely delicious pizza. Probably some of the best Ive had in years
Awesome pizza and atmosphere.
My ex-wife - and mother of our three grown children - and her husband took me here for a birthday dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised... by the food...
Only vegan pizza option in Richmond - at this moment. Pretty tasty combinations. Some good beer on tap too!
Best pizza I ve ever had in Vermont. High quality ingredients, cooked just right, and served with professionalism. I won t go anywhere else. Ever. For any reason. Stones Throw makes Fairfax better, without a doubt. Try it. You ll love it.
Very nice pizza and a good beer selection.
Excellent pizza.
This tucked-away gem was the perfect mid-week, date night option! Great staff and even better food-oh, and they have amazing vegan options!
Glad we arrived early (5:20) on Saturday as it got very busy quickly. Limited seating but takeout available. Order at the counter and delivered to the table. Very much enjoyed the Forager pizza (white pizza with mushrooms, broccolini, garlic, Asiago and sage). Good beer options.
Great pizza. Love the Love Shak.
Excellent pizza! Great service. Wonderful atmosphere
I just moved to Richmond, and this was the absolute first place I had to try out. I came here with family who were visiting from out of town. We got 5 different pizzas and they were all incredibly delicious & and flavorful. Everything we had was reasonably priced. The ambiance & vibe of this restaurant was stunning, comfortable, and very relaxed. They have a large table in the middle of the dining room that really enhanced & complimented the family style eating pizza natural has. We were blown away by this place and cant wait to go back!
Absolutely delicious vegan pizza! Awesome outdoor seating area too with a fire pit. Great spot with great food and great service.
Yes! This is so good. Some of the combinations seem like they might not work, but they totally do. Culinary genius.
Went to Stone s Throw Pizza after a nice day at the Bolton Access Road Swim Holes. It was the perfect place to close out a beautiful day of sunshine with a nice gourmet pizza in their lush beer garden, overlooking a gorgeous Vermont sunset. We ordered our pizza at the counter and about 20 minutes later brought it out to us. We ordered the Thai style Satay pizza, which came with roasted red peppers, pickled cabbage, and a tangy peanut sauce. As other reviewers have mentioned, the crust is not substantial under the toppings, but I quickly got past that after realizing that the crust at the edges had so much flavor and baked with a nice crisp. Not to mention, the colorful flavors of the pizza all coming together really caught my attention. Everything from the cabbage, peanut sauce, homemade ranch, cheese, pizza dough, and even the atmosphere, made this an 5-star experience
Really really good pizza! And the outdoor seating is so cozy and pretty! Very friendly staff too!
Parking: Parking immediately in front is limited, but park lot is nearby Wheelchair accessibility: Sidewalk to right intended for wheelchair access
I was sad that Hatchet wasnt doing takeout for the rest of the night bc I wanted a chicken sandwich SO BAD!!! Pizza is usually bleh so I thought I would be grumpy tonight. Holy cow am I glad I came here. The arugula salad & the Hunter pizza were both great. Hunter was probably the best topping combo Ive experienced on a pizza. Also the restaurant/outdoor seating is gorgeous at night. I avoid building my own whenever possible bc customers usually arent that good at it
Absolutely insane pizza, beautiful setting, good wine. Staff were super kind and service was fast.
Expensive, but you get what you pay for...
I am visiting for the week, and am a big time pizza lover- I had the Elote. Hands down top 3 best pizzas I ve ever had. Wish I could take them back to Texas with me!
Great pizza. Relaxed vibe.
Excellent pizza, outstanding ingredients, great drink selection!!
Super cool place & atmosphere, hanging lights, a campfire, music (outside), inside was decent, workers were friendly, pizza was amazing! My only complaint is not enough meat, I wouldve liked about 3 times as much on. I believe it was called the Nomad. The crust was cooked to perfection. I ate a whole small pizza, and Id do it again. Im definitely coming back for a date night and trying something else, maybe Ill ask for more meat! Kid-friendliness: Right next to the park and a playground, lots of kids playing outside.
The staff is friendly and the service is very good. Thats what youre paying for because the pizza is uninspired.
We always had great pizza from Stones Throw in Richmond. Tonight we got our first badly burned pizza. It was only 3 slices but it was a disappointment when we got home. At this point everyone is hungry and heading back was not an option so ate around the worst of the burned slices.
I hardly write reviews, but felt obligated because Stones Throw is so dang delicious.
After a slew of places in and out of the old On the Rise building, Im so happy to have Stones Throw there! Its so delicious! They have creative topping combos, high-quality versions of the old standbys and more.
I was hungry after skiing at Bolton so gave this place a try. Tasty ingredients but too thin with sparse toppings to be filling. I knew it as soon as I felt the lightweight box. $26 for not much food and they even asked for a gratuity when taking my info over the phone, so that was another $2 to not have them spit on my food. Confusing dark parking area. I ve had much better luck at the place around the corner.
Havent been able to eat in there yet, but the Fairfax location is very accommodating. The pizza is excellent and always friendly service.
They are doing an incredible job. We have loved their pizza since day 1 of going to the Fairfax location and now are super pleased they are in Richmond as well. Great pizza-every pie weve tried we love. and we love supporting local families and businesses
Excellent pizza! Top favorite for us both.
Great pizza. Yummy . Strong to very strong
This is by far one of the best hidden gem restaurants in VT. From the vast selection of fresh ingredients that literally come from the onsite garden (yes you can walk tho right the garden too) to the beautiful modern rustic interior, and the added bonus of having an outdoor beer garden and fire pit. The pizza is very much a west Coast take on pizza with up scale modern toppings that are made to amaze. If your looking to spice up your pizza and taste a new take on a classic then this is the place to be. This will be are #1 pizza joint now!
Best pizza period.
Family had a great time enjoying pizza and playing in the nearby park.
The absolute best pizza Ive ever had! The toppings are so creative and original, and they offer great dairy free, vegetarian and gluten free options that you wont find anywhere else. You can taste the quality of ingredients and the love they put into it
Great vegan options for pizza. Also had a gluten free crust. Fresh ingredients and fast considering how very busy they were.
Best vegan pizza Ive ever had! Staff is friendly
Im a Richmond resident, have had the pleasure of eating from these local restaurant businesses. I have experienced many of the different menus. The pizza at Stones Throw definitely sets all others from the rest. The service was phenomenal, it was 15 minutes before they were closing doors and anywhere else even 60 min before I was hung up on(hatchet). Thank you for amazing food, your business moral and customer service! Ive told many locals about you already.
Best pizza in the area!
Pizza is always great and pickup time is always spot on. Gets busy on nice days in the summer so if you plan on grabbing a pie plan ahead and place your order an hour or more before you want to pickup.
Stupid good pizza and salads. It was our default place for take out in the area over the summer. Online ordering is easy and the one time something got mixed up they resolved it as quickly as possible.
This place is awesome. Great choices for pizza toppings (including smoked meats). The venue is really cool. Good beer. A big playground/park next door while we waited for our food (15 minutes). Outdoor seating (before dark) . Hangout out fire pit and a large garden out front. Only went once, since we were visiting . I dont think it was luck that this placed was so good. 2 adults 1 toddler. Ordered 1 large and 1 small ( had a few slices to bring home with).
Delicious and super cute.
Good pizza, they have a very good and interest combination of toppings (dried cherries or kimchee is not something I would usually consider a pizza topping) but they have really perfected how to add the ingredients together so they complement each other very well! The pizza dough itself was not my favorite, I usually like thin crust but even though they are advertised as thin crust, the pizzas my friends and I got were definitely thicker than what I would consider thin. It also wasnt super flavorful or anything to write home about, but the toppings are great together! They also have so many great options for vegetarians, vegans, gluten free, it is really nice seeing so many options on the menu for those of us with restricted diets! This is a pizza place, and besides two types of salads thats literally all they have on their menu. Which is great, and everyone loves pizza, but if you were hoping to get some appetizers before or if you have a picky eater I would not recommend this place. The atmosphere was pretty good for a small pizza joint like this. The space has had so many restaurants in and out and its really an awkward space with not a ton of room, not many windows, and bad acoustics. But despite being dark and loud, it was a very friendly atmosphere, definitely lots of millenial vibes and a very friendly staff. I will definitely go back here, I cant wait to try more of their pizzas!
Outstanding thin crust pizza in Richmond. They have a great menu with all the standard offerings - plus interesting toppings as well. Highly recommended. It s a great addition to our town.
Bright and inviting atmosphere with friendly counter service. Oh yea and the best pizza around! Options for all tastes and limitations (vegan, gluten, dairy, soy)
Awesome spot! Beautiful location, cool layout (with an open kitchen) and delicious pizza to match. Loved having a brew at the bar while waiting for take-out. Specialty pizzas were off the charts, Ill be back!
Great vegan options with extremely friendly staff. If you like bloody Mary s, try the kimchi one, a nice change of pace from the classic.
Amazing food and staff. Lovely evening. Cant recommend it enough.
Incredibly good pizza!!! This pizza is up there with Patsy and Lombardis from NYC.
One of the best pizzas Ive had in a long time.
Fantastic food and staff
Best Pizza!
Open floorplan with great seating. Looking forward to summer to sit outside. Their pizzas are my favorite in all of Vermont. Fast service. Crust is thin but has a great chew to it. Love their pepperoni pizza! Only area I hope they work on is better dessert variety.
Stone s Throw was our favorite food during a brief 4 day trip to Vermont. We sat at the bar and debated ordering a 12 or 16 pizza and thank goodness we ordered the 16 because it was some of the best pizza that we have had in some time. We had the Forager, topped with wonderful roasted garlic and broccolini. While my fiancee had a beer, I held off because I was driving and appreciated the manager introducing me to Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher, a non-alcoholic drink that tastes just as good, if not better, than many light beers. As we sat at the bar and ate, we were impressed with how smoothly the kitchen ran, even as the restaurants volume increased. The building is very welcoming, it almost looks like a red barn with an artsy door that looks like a table with a large spoon as a handle and if the aesthetic of the building somehow does not grab your attention the wonderful smell will. Inside was very clean and classy, it was a wonderful dinner for date night.
We did curbside pickup at Stones Throw, and it was wonderful. It was a very efficient process, and our pizza was brought to us piping hot. Everything we have tried is delicious. The specialty pizzas are very creative and have amazing crust. This will definitely be our go-to pizza place!!
Best pizza Ive personally had in the state. Fairfax location was great, but this was spot on! Glad to have them in town!
Creative pies in a great location. Like to come here and eat in the park.
Amazing pizza, great staff and awesome atmosphere! Must go!
Great pizza. Imaginative topping. Smoked mushrooms are awesome.
Excellent all around...great local establishment.Well done.
Not too much to say here - this place has some amazing pizza! The different topping options and the wood fired oven makes for a top notch pie. Not only is the food great, the staff are super friendly and it s also a great value for the cost. I highly recommend if you re in the area!
Meh. Disappointed. Really skimpy with the toppings. I ordered a large pepperoni with roasted red onions, 1/2 kalamata olives, and 1/2 fresh mushrooms. I could literally count 15 little slices of olive.. there were so few that it stuck out! Same with the other toppings except the big pepperonis. I like places that put whole or half kalamata olives on their pizza, not just a few little little bits of it. The couple mushrooms and red onions on the pizza were tasty... I wish there were more especially for the price. Maybe this place isnt the right style of pizzeria for me... guess Im a traditionalist and believe that pizza toppings should be generous. Also the crust was so-so... I prefer a little charred and chewy... this was too light and airy and bland than I care for. I got it take out and had a 15 minute drive home so that might have been part of it too idk. Reheated in the toaster oven wasnt much better. My meh pizza cost $26! I live in Bolton and there are very limited local options for pizza... but I definitely wont order here again. Worth the drive to Waterbury or Burlington.
Great addition to Richmond, excellent pizza with a bunch of ingredients that are grown in the garden right out front. They are also extremely careful when it comes to COVID. I felt totally safe during the pickup process, and the online order tracking makes it really easy to arrive when your food is ready!v
Possibly the best pizza Ive ever had. House made kimchi on a pie, come on now!!!
Great pizza in this side of town. Diary free cheese too for us.
Pretty good pizza. Had the Japanese special pizza. It was just okay. My friends got a sausage and green pepper which was much better.
Love these pies and the service is always great.
Seriously inventive pizzas + killer wine list. Cant wait to go back!
