This is an outdoor cart on the street, with excellent food for takeaway at a great value. The staff are kind and efficient and I really enjoyed the chicken salad, marinated cucumber, and complimentary bread. They mentioned today that it was their last day until the spring.
The tarragon chicken salad is the best. I get marinated cucumbers and a wedge of cheese. Good meal and great friendly vibe from the staff.
I’m addicted to this spot for lunch! I always get the chicken salad with a double side of sesame pasta and it never misses. The guys on 8th and Main are so friendly! Also- super cheap for huge portions IMO

The food is great but the guy who runs the cart is very rude and unfriendly to say the least. He seems annoyed every time I go there. Will not be going back anytime soon.
Here’s the thing, looking for reliable and super tasty tuna or chicken salad with prompt and nice folks serving? Go to the cart nearest you! No joke, every time we go it’s been solid. I alternate between tuna and chicken salad and usually go for slaw and cukes. Love it. Thank you!
The choices seem simple but the flavors are complex. Always excellent fast service at this cart!!!! Get the shrimp pasta salad with the marinated cucs and change your life for the better!!!!

Its a good cart. There are multiple locations throughout the city. Everything they make is delicious. I especially love the chicken salad and marinated cucumbers.

I love their sesame pasta. I have tried their shrimp and tunafish pasta as well. Really good. For a quick, inexpensive and healthy lunch -this is a good place to go. Get there early, there could be a long line, they are still fairly fast at service though.

Im very disappointed after years of purchasing lunch. I purchased from 8th&Main today. The price has skyrocketed, and I received less food. I paid for an extra wedge of cheese, which I didnt receive. In the past, I could stretch one meal from this cart to 2. I barely had enough to eat lunch. Wow, just wow! Everything changes, but not for the good.

I worked in the downtown area for decades. Christophers Runaway Gourmay was the favorite go-to place for Tarragon chicken salad, fruit, and cheese. It was great to visit last month and enjoy again their Trademark lunch; same great taste, and by todays standards, it is reasonably priced. Thank you, Christopher, for remaining the same when everything around us is changing!

Its a food truck, and theyre popular, so theres gonna be a wait - youll have to be okay with that. BUT... they get through customers quickly, they treat you like theyve known you for years, the food is good and very reasonably priced. What more could you want?
First let me say the customer service was A1...awesome! I ordered the Rotini and Vegetables in Dijon dressing which was pretty good.

I m obsessed with the chicken salad. Even though I ve been working from home, I drive into the city to get it on my lunch breaks. They just recently added the option of paying by credit card, so now it s dangerously convenient
I ate here for lunch today and I always make a little chicken salad sandwich with the cheese and some fruit thrown in there. My dads band has been playing at Chriss Halloween party almost every year since I was a kid and Chris always caters it himself. I remember getting plate after plate of chicken salad and pasta and having such a fun time, so getting to eat it for lunch is extremely nostalgic and wonderful. I always go up to the observation deck at city hall and enjoy my meal, so now I have a new little tradition to remember that part of my childhood. Definitely would recommend, it is probably the best chicken salad in Richmond.

Oh my goodness, best chicken salad ever. I was looking for a hot dog and found them. I will attempt to pass them when ever Im downtown. The price is very reasonable. I had cucumbers and fruit with it . I WILL BE BACK !!
got chicken salad here on a recommendation (im generally not a big chicken salad fan) a few years ago and it is awesome. been getting the chicken salad with a side of fruit and cheese ever since. one of the best bangs for the buck around (note that it is cash only)
Cash Only. Excellent flavors - sesame noodles, marinated cucumbers, tarragon chicken salad, pesto pasta, block of cheese or chunk of bread. Generous servings of quality ingredients. Memorable staff making jokes with their regulars and newcomers. Very reasonable pricing.

Not only is this the best value in Richmond. Christophers undeniably has the greatest chicken salad ever! If you re downtown around lunchtime you must pass by all the other food carts and treat yourself to this amazing lunch!

Ive been a customer since Christophers first opened at 12th & Main in the mid 1980s & even though I dont work downtown anymore I drive back for the wonderfully delicious goodies as often as I can.
