Food came out cold. Duck was over cooked. Tofu dish with brocoli had good flavors. Itvwas very difficult to obtain a beverage.

Got the Pad Thai and it wasnt very good at all, even at a spice level 5 it tasted bland and smelled pretty bad. Coworker got the Chicken fried rice, and it looked like the chicken was boiled and tasted the same. Edit: went back a second time and went with beef pad see ew and it was a lot better.

The khua kling is sooooooooooooo delicious omg. Reminds me of Cambodian cuisine (where I m from!) beware it is pretty spicy

I used this restaurant as a catering service for a wedding with 50 guests. They were on time, and the process for ordering was simple. My guests were wowed! My grandmother is a Filipino and Thai chef for over 40 years and she loved the food! So glad we chose them!

Hidden gem

Ive been to Patio Thai multiple times, and its always been a truly excellent experience. I went there for my birthday dinner in the past, and the manager was so sweet and gave me updates throughout the day on how she was arranging and preparing my space. Everyone had a wonderful experience. I also ordered takeout recently from their website, and I immensely appreciate the way they make it so easy to note allergies and dietary restrictions. I left a note on all my items to leave out fish sauce and dairy, and felt extremely safe and heard when they arrived all labeled vegan in my takeout bag! Such a wonderful restaurant, and will always be one of my favorites.

Great for Dine in, Pick up, or delivery. Expansive menu for all types of diets and desires, even enough to please a preschooler. Not had a bad thing yet. Spicy Drunken Noodles have great flavor and will light you up. Love the soups appetizers and the cocktails as well. This is a solid and steady choice

The food is amazing! I also took my girlfriend here on her birthday and the staff brought out a slice of cake and sang happy birthday to her! It was a really great time!

The dishes are very spicy. I liked it a lot! From the outside the place doesnt say anything, when you enter you cant believe how beautiful it is and how warm it is! Beautiful decoration. They have a patio with tables and a very feng shui fountain that gives a lot of peace and harmony while you are eating. I congratulate you!

Eat out on the patio!!! Despite the abundance of artificial flowers, you still felt like you were on an old patio in New Orleans. The server was fast and very friendly. The peanut sauce I had with the rama Tofu was delicious ...my husband loves his chicken pad Thai, but his biggest recommendation is the Thai iced tea

A group of six of us had dinner on September 6, 2024 at Patio Thai, and sat outside on the beautiful patio area which was lovely, especially as it got dark. The food we had was Duck Noodle Elegance (a soup), Spicy Chicken Lemongrass, Spicy Ka-Prow with Beef, Spicy Ka-Prow with Chicken, Drunken Noodles with Chicken, Pad See-Ew with Beef, and Ka-Pow Fried Rice with Chicken, and extra white rice. All the food was overly sweet and not very tasty. Everything was sweet! We later asked our server why everything was sweet, and he said that it was Thai-fusion and the way they served it. All was under seasoned as well. We also ordered most things spicy. The best of the dishes ordered was the Spicy Ka-Prow with Beef (the only food we have a photo of), and the Spicy Ka-Prow with Chicken. Menu pics are attached. At first the service was pretty good but about halfway through the meal, the server pretty much disappeared - we didn t see him going to any tables. We had to ask another server to ask him to bring our check. We really enjoyed the patio, but we would not go back for the food. That is a shame because a few years in the past the food was well seasoned and well prepared.

It is such a cute hidden gem in downtown Richmond! It s right by VCUs campus. It s super easy to get to and even has a parking lot right next to it which is big for the city! It s very cute and intimate on the inside. It s in the basement of a building and has a great patio! I got the drunken noodles and they were so good! It was definently some of the better this I have had in richmond! The staff was super friendly, it takes a little while to get your food but once you get it, it s worth the wait!

Great place to eat.

Lunch with my brother. Ordered Som Tom (papaya salad), spring rolls and vegetarian green curry. The Som Tom was the star of lunch, very delicious. Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian options, just ask.

There is a lot to say about this place and let start with its wonderful. I sat on the patio and it is a lovely atmosphere. The service was attentive without being overly on in a way that would require the same from me. Just checked three times total over two hours spread out appropriately. The Tom Ka soup with a side of rice for start and glass of cold house white was my starter. The house wine is 5 dollars daily from 4-7pm daily. The soup was wonderful and the rice was thia style so a bit extra stick and felt indulgent. I decided to continue out of general satisfaction and ordered the yellow curry with shrimp and another glass of cold white. You;ll see in the pic below that patio atmosphere is red 100 year brick and just wonderful with a cooling and soothing fountain. Do it, cant go wrong if you want quality thai. Parking is on the street from what I can tell.

Absolutely stunning, from the entrance to the backyard ( outside area) so beautiful. The food was fantastic. It has a very romantic vibe I have to say. Perfect to bring your mate down here

Needs more thai peppers and a freshening of the patio.

For 2 Foodies from NoVa, we had not yet found a stellar authentic Thai place in RVA...until last night! The Patio came up with high stars and it did NOT disappoint! We tried the Muay Thai IPA, (so interesting) then had a fabulous papaya salad, larb gai, and one of our favorite classics. Crispy Duck with Basil. But wait!! The owner visited kindly with us and made sure we didnt miss my husbands all time favorite: a fried whole fish with pineapple flavor sauce. Finished off with mango sticky rice for dessert. Nothing was short of 5 stars. Servi ce was sweet and attentive, the decor and Ambiance was artistic and creative. Our only regret is that we didnt find the Patio Thai when they opened 5 years ago!!

Absolutely loved this restaurant..we sat inside and its cozy and lighting is soft..Service is top notch with great suggestions for food and cocktails..The cocktails are crafted and beautiful and taste perfect..I got Pad Thai and it was by far the best i have had..Had tons of chicken and shrimp and plenty for leftovers..Have to touch on the service again because they were so fabulous..Perfectly attentive..We couldnt have asked for a better experience

I love this place because the food is good and the drinks are good. But there were 2 times where I just wanted to stop in for a drink and when I walked in, they said they were closed. If the website says you close at 9:30, if I come in at 9pm, you aren t closed yet. Then they tell me the only thing I get is a drink and I say that s fine and they look at each other like they don t want to serve us. And I end up saying it s fine and leave. They need to be better at their times and better customer service

Food was cold when we got it. But everything else was great .

Calamari had way too much breading. Good lunch portions, great flavor. Water taste nasty. Customer service could had been better. We ran out of water quickly. No one really checked on us.

Had the Pineapple Bonanza from their Specials and it was AMAZING. It s hard to find a nicely done fried whole fish, but The Patio did it so well. Crispy outside, tender juicy fish meat inside. Don t let the fish scare you away from this delicious dish!! The sauce it came with was perfect. Delivery was super quick as well. We ordered 4 dishes and got our food delivered in less than 45 minutes.

Sit at the patio if you can. Easily some of the best Thai food I ve ever had. The roasted basil duck was chefs kiss.

Girlfriend and I stumbled upon this place visiting Richmond, and wow did we luck out. Outstanding service, ambience, and food. We had gyoza, yellow curry, chefs special pork belly, and the mango sticky rice. We did not do much talking during the meal, each dish was that good. Really couldnt recommend this place enough.

I can t say enough about the customer service I received at Patio Thai. I made a reservation for 10 people for my mother s birthday and they made our evening so beautiful! Tin Tin texted me all throughout the to make sure she gets me the best table. They allowed us to bring our sweet dog. The ambience of the restaurant is just BEAUTIFUL! The service and food were just excellent and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to celebrate any occasion.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and it was worth every penny, the crispy basil duck melted in my mouth and the pad Thai was amazing, I will say if you don t like mustard do not get the siracha honey wings, It doesn t say they are tossed in a honey mustard sauce :( other than that everything was AMAZING. They brought out my boyfriend a chocolate cake that said happy birthday without either of us asking, it was very nice!

An absolutely wonderful place! The bar is beautiful and the patio is simply magical. Now let me tell you about the food! Bar none, the best Thai food I ve had in recent memory. Needed a place to have lunch for 8 people while visiting for a wedding. We called Patio Thai and they cheerfully said no problem! We were greeting with a smile, shown to an interior table with plenty of room, and quickly served water while we looked at the menu. By the way, they do have outdoor seating, but it was a bit too cold for that. And although we walked from a nearby hotel, several of our party found easy parking nearby! The menu had the usual Thai specialities, including a good beer and wine list. Everyone in our party ordered dishes like Pad Ka-Pow, Chicken Cashew Nut, and Pad Thai. We also enjoyed cold Singha Thai beer on draft, which was very refreshing! I wouldve posted some pictures of our delicious meals, but they didnt last because we ate them so fast!! As well as having plenty to share and a very reasonable price for the meal, the service was friendly, prompt, and flexible for vegetarian and modified orders, like spice levels from none to hot. Well be back when were in the Richmond area to enjoy more Thai specialties!

My favorite cozy little Thai restaurant. Havent been on the famous patio yet, but the downstairs dining area has great character and energy. Their tom kha is amazing. Chicken satay skewers made with chicken thighs were also excellent.

Service was slow and inattentive, which was odd given the number of employees standing behind the bar or holding up the walls and looking at their phones. The overall impression was a complete lack of interest in providing service. Atmosphere was meh because of the staff. Food could have been better, dishes were inconsistent. The salmon in the Salmon Red Curry was broiled to a crisp, hard, tasteless brick, the Curry sauce was tasty but the temperature was only lukewarm. Dishes for our table of 3 did not arrive together, one dish arriving 10 minutes later. The Patio fried rice dish was adequate, the Seafood Red Curry was better prepared than the Salmon. The Taste of Heaven cocktail was an overpriced ($13) ginger beer with a sprig of rosemary. This is my 3rd experience with Thai Garden and each time it has been less satisfying. I dont think I will be back. If management is open to feedback - hire staff that has something on the ball. Figure out how to bring food to the table while it is still hot, and invest in a cooking timer.

Amazing! Never been to a thai restaurant before but this was a great experience. The food was incredible, server was super nice, and the restaurant was beautiful! Definitely coming again!

Everything was delicious. We have a peanut allergy and told them. The chef came out to let us know how they prepared the food. Of course, we are aware of the risk, but it was nice to have that added later if thought. Papaya salad was refreshingly delicious, crispy duck was yummy... pretty consistently good food here.

For charging fine dining prices of $18, they leave a bit to be desired. They certainly arent at the top of the food chain, so to speak, in Richmonds Thai cuisine economy. For years I went here, and for years the price slowly increased, and quality slowly decreased. That was up until last night where my Pad Thai had chicken with no flavor, pad Thai sauce was extraordinarily light to the point where the noodles got dry in your mouth, there were pounds more noodles than there were vegetables, or chicken, no peanuts sprinkled in, it was a mess of a purchase. My girlfriend got a curry dish that also had sparse vegetables cut up into it. Someone just didnt know how to make pad thai and instead of begging for my money back, I felt 18$ for a subpar take out pad thai simply deserved a 3 star review. Other than that, staff is nice and fast service. My noodle bar and Pad Thai (Hanover) both knock the socks off this place, and charge less; I wish theyd try a little harder to match this quality standard.

This was a nice experience. I think summer would be a better time to visit for more atmosphere. Food was really good. Menus were filthy.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for dinner while in Richmond. The atmosphere was very intimate, but I couldn t help but feel that the indoor dining was a little dingy. I wish it had been warmer outside so we could have sat out on the patio: it looked so cute! We ordered the gyoza, which were a little too mushy on the inside but had an amazing crispy exterior. We also got the pad thai and pad see ew. Both were absolutely incredible, steaming hot, and the portions sizes were huge! My cocktail the pomargarita was also great. We will definitely be back if we ever visit Richmond again!

What a lovely dinner! We started off with the gyoza which were very crispy on the outside and savory and delicious on the inside. The tom kha soup was fantastic - sweet, spicy, and sour. The drunken noodles were also fantastic and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. My only complaint is that I wish they were spicier. The roasted duck curry was beautiful and full of flavor. The mango sticky rice was a bit odd - very very salty. Overall great food - excited to come back and try another dish!

It was so cold in the restaurant even the waitress had on a thick winter coat . The food was OK, the area we sat in by the bar was small and cold! All in all not a very good experience

I d really like to try whatever they re best at because the Pad Thai here was bland and that s the nicest thing I can say about it, but the interior of the restaurant is clean and very well kept up.

Would not recommend this restaurant. My mom and I ate here Saturday night. We ended up in the ER from severe food poisoning. The doctor said it could have been food poisoning or a bacteria living on the food already. I believe it was from the pineapple fried rice but that part is unsure. I would never wish what my mom and I went through on anyone. Just a heads up.

We had the patio fried rice. I could barely taste the chicken it was mostly breading. Some of the breading was just flat with no chicken. Oh and they gave us three pieces of broccoli. The dine in was great but the take out was not good.

We traveled to Richmond to attend an event in the convention center. After the event I used google search and found this Thai restaurant nearby. Called in the order and went to pick up the food in 15 minutes as suggested. Since it was my fist time there, I followed the sign for pick up and went upstairs. I saw an entrance and a shelf nearby with obvious take out orders on it, so I went in and tried to see if anyone there to help with the pickup order. But I was there maybe for 3 seconds and this tall man came out and started yelling at me, get out, get out, why you are here! And he used a wooden frame pushing me out, the frame was literally on my face! I was shocked and didn t know what s going on. Then I realized that s the man I placed an order with, so I told him I was there to pick up my order. Then he eased a bit and told me to wait there. After he shoveled me out, I saw a pice of paper on the right side of the wall that says employee only . A customer sat nearby who witnessed that said to me: he is always very rude. In any event, that s so unprofessional to treat a customer or anyone in fact like that. I have never experienced this kind of rudeness that almost made me fall from a business. The business owner really needs to conduct some basic level customer service training among the employees. Bottom line: rude service and OK food. First time and last time there!

The crispy duck with basil was incredible! Beautifully plated and so so good. We also got pad see ew with pork, which was yummy as well. Generous portion sizes (though I could personally do with more rice) and relatively quick as well. I also got the butterfly pea lemonade (not pictured) for my kids, which was ok, but fun for the color. Theres a lot of different seating - we were inside in the smaller section by the bar, but there was clearly a longer, larger section separate from it, so it can accommodate larger groups as well. Cute and delectable. Definitely on my list of Thai places to come back to in the city. Vegetarian options: Pretty much every dish could be made vegetarian. Parking: Depending on when you come, the parking situation may vary. We came late Sunday afternoon and had a reasonably easy time finding parking across the street. It is a bustling area though, so I imagine peak weekend and dinner hours would be much harder for parking. Kid-friendliness: I came here with my 3 and 4 year old and they loved the food. They were very prompt when I asked for two small plates to portion out food for the children, and brought plastic silverware as well. The tables we sat at were incredibly light, so the kids did keep pushing them while sitting (not on purpose, just in wriggling and moving their legs), but they are stable. Just something to be mindful of if your child likes to shove tables - these budge very easily.

What a cute little find!! Staff was very friendly, place is cozy, food was good. Would like to go back and try more of the menu to be able to better give a more thorough food review.

Great ambiance and good food

The portions are noticably small, but the flavors are so bad that you wont want more. I had the Roasted Duck Curry, which came with so much added sugar that it tasted like a curry ice cream soup. You can see the canned pineapple chunks in the picture that make this dish taste cheap and ruins the duck. She had the spicy chicken lemon grass, but the only spice I could detect was salt. Lots of salt. Our total was $45 for the two of us. Service and atmosphere were both pretty good.

This place is amazing, the prices are reasonable, and I ate here 3 days in a row. Id recommend something, but everything I tried from the Ramen to the Curry Duck was amazing. The staff is extremely nice, and very accommodating as well. I recommend anyone make this place a frequent visit whenever they can.

I have been twice now. The portions are fantastic (I got the Tom Yum soup and the larb gai appetizer for lunch...and took leftovers home). An order of spring rolls gets you 4-5 little spring rolls, which is perfect to share. Really great flavors here, and nice service.

Consistent great food each order. Had salmon panang, shrimp pad thai, and chicken drunken noodles; all are delicious. Obsessed with the curry puff appetizers. My go to for Thai in RVA.

My husband and I loved this beautiful restaurant and the outdoor space. We will definitely return when we are in Richmond.

A great restaurant. I ordered spring rolls for starters and pad thai for my main. There was 5 smallish spring rolls, piping hot and full of flavour accompanied by a sweet chilli dipping sauce. The chicken pad thai was delicious, it was a large portion but somehow I finished it all. The Saturday night I was there it was very busy, I ate at the bar, so I would recommend you make a reservation.

Vegetarian options: They are very accommodating if you do not eat meat. Parking: On the same side of the street, down from the restaurant is a parking lot that is specifically for guest comming to eat at the restaurant. Signs are posted.

Checked out The Patio Thai on Saturday and the ambience was wonderful. Outdoor patio was very relaxing and felt like someone s backyard. Cozy spot, especially for a date. We had the fried tofu, kapow chicken fried rice, fried spring rolls, and tofu red curry. For drinks, we had the pomargerita and the lychee martini. The kapow chicken fried rice was very tasty, hints of anise, lemongrass, and fresh herbs. It had a great flavor, but wasn t very spicy. The Thai red curry was robust and full of the classic curry flavor. The drinks were delicious, sweet and well-balanced. For appetizers, the fried tofu was okay, but I m not a fan of tofu. The friend I went with who doesn t eat meat thought it was delicious, though The spring rolls were good, but nothing special. They are what you expect of a good spring roll. Overall, I was very pleased with the meal- about $100 for drinks, apps, and meals for 2 people, with leftovers. 4/5 stars.

Ordered through door dash and food was delivered quickly and still warm. Gyoza and pad ka pow were ok. Pad ka pow was made with pieces of chicken rather than traditional ground meat. Drunken noodle was inedible and had metallic taste. Will not be a repeat customer.

Ive visited this place in the past and at one point it was pretty good..but now absolutely not the service is horrible, the food is cold and the portions are much smaller..I will never eat here again yuk!

The service was very friendly and the food came out quick. Large portion sizes and they do not skimp on the meat. Took one star off because the pad thai and duck curry was a little too sweet and all the dishes lacked Thai basil so it wasn t as fragrant. Overall the food is delicious and I would come back again.

I have eaten here before. The food was delicious the two times prior. I ordered pad Thai chicken, wonton soup, and mango with sticky rice this time. All of it was gross. I m not sure if it is because it is the end of the night, but the pad Thai was bland. My wonton soup was water with cabbage. And I didn t get my mango with stick rice. I got 3 little bowls of custard, which I do NOT eat. Instead of just replacing my food, ask the customer if they would prefer a refund. They aren t even close replacements. I come from DC monthly for work and looked forward to this meal. I am very disappointed.

Food and drinks were excellent, price was reasonable and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Nice chill atmosphere.

So good ended up eating here twice! Great authentic food! Helpful and attentive staff. I liked the imported thia beers they had to offer, with a wide drink selection!

Came after a long day of travelling. Service was attentive and welcoming. Food was delicious, generous portions and nicely cooked.

I loved this place and will definitely do back. Its very small and slightly hidden. But its a hidden gem. The food was absolutely amazing! I wish I remembered my waitresses name because she was just as amazing and recommended basically my entire meal. Sooo glad I listened. For my appetizer, I had gyoza dumplings, which are fried and for my entrée, I had Pad ka pow. Yummm!

Nice restaurant. Nice people, and nice service. The host was good, the waitress was good, the cook staff was good, even a manager came out to make sure we were taken care of. This is what I go out for. Thank you.

The food was good. The service was a littlee slow but in their defense we were seated outside on the patio. The atmosphere was amazing! The decor is super cute and it makes for a great place to have a family outing. The best thing, however, was the Mango-Sticky rice. It was honestly delicious and I would go back to this restaurant just to order it!

Absolutely delicious, amazing presentation

this is a late review for an experience we had back in March we surprised my sister for her birthday here and it was so lovely! We didnt tell them that it was her bday until one of the waitresses overheard. When we were about to leave, she told us to hold on and came back with a surprise slice of cake with a candle on it! My sister felt so special and it really made her night :) Thank you for going above and beyond!

I recently dined here at The Patio Thai, and I must say that my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. See below for the break down of my overall experience. The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the Lychee Martini. Its not an exaggeration to say that it was easily the best Lychee Martini I have ever had. The balance of flavors was exceptional, and the presentation was on point. The Patio Thai certainly knows how to craft a memorable cocktail. The restaurants atmosphere is perfect for a cozy and intimate dining experience. The ambiance on the patio created a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Its an ideal spot for a fun night out with close friends or a romantic evening. However, I do need to mention that The Patio Thai might not be the best option if youre planning a gathering with a large party. I had reserved a table for 16 people, and we did encounter some challenges. We arrived early for our 7 pm reservation and took advantage of the Happy Hour at the bar. The drinks, including the Lychee Martini, were absolutely delightful. The pomerita (not sure if that is spelled correctly) was also a crowd favorite, with some of my companions ordering multiple rounds. One of the main issues arose when our table wasnt ready until 7:30 pm, which wasnt a major problem since our group was slowly gathering after a day of tennis. However, the real issues started when we placed our food orders. The kitchen appeared to be overwhelmed by the size of our party. While we understood that such a large order could take time, the extent of the delay was just unexpected. The service hiccup was most apparent when appetizers began arriving after a two-hour wait. Some in our group even received their entrees before others got their appetizers, which was a bit of a bewildering experience. It seemed like the kitchen was struggling to manage the demand, resulting in a lack of synchronization in serving our meals. The time gap between when the first and last entrees arrived was quite substantial. Some of us were almost done with our meals by the time others received theirs. One person in my party ordered a duck dish and waited almost an hour and thirty mins for it only to be told that they had run out of the ingredients used to make it and that he would have to order something else on the menu. However, I did have the pleasure of trying the Green Papaya Salad at The Patio Thai for the very first time, and it was an absolute revelation. I must say, it was to die for. The flavors were incredibly vibrant, and the combination of textures was simply scrumptious. The balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy notes was expertly executed, making it a standout dish on the menu. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Green Papaya Salad to anyone looking to explore new flavors and experience a burst of culinary delight. Its a testament to the restaurants ability to deliver exceptional taste experiences. Despite its ups and downs, The Patio Thai offers a lot to appreciate. I have no idea why this place is so highly rated. Ordered chicken pad Thai and fried squid and was excited based on the reviews. Squid seemed fake to me because it was too think and there were no squid bodies just pieces and the pad Thai was the worst pad Thai I had had in my life. Worse than what I could have made myself. On top of that, there was the faint smell of urine when I went upstairs to pick up my order. Not a fan.

The patio is definitely an attraction , well shaded by a huge magnolia tree. The food was awesome, definitely spicy. The service was underwhelming , the only negative aspect of an otherwise perfect evening dinner. Vegetarian options: Limited menu compared to other Thai restaurants, however a good selection of vegetarian options.

First time here! The spring rolls were some of the best I ve ever had. We both had pad thai. I had tofu and my partner had chicken, and it was SO GOOD. The cocktails tasted great too! We were pleasantly surprised, and will be back! Reserved parking is in a lot right across the street.

This is my first time writing a review here. If you are looking for a good place to eat with amazing food and awesome taste, Patio Thai is the best option for you. I am traveling in this town and was really impressed with the food that we ordered: Dunken Noodles and Red Curry. We will come back and try everything on the menu soon. I went there in the evening, and the restaurant was quite busy, and we saw only 1 waiter and 1 waitress. I could not remember the name of the waiter; his name was D. He is really nice and polite, and we love his smile and how this restaurant attended to the service. Even though the restaurant was busy, everyone did a good job. Nice place, and really cozy inside. If we have the chance again, we will have the meal in the patio area.

I love this place, it s my favorite Thai restaurant in Richmond. The Ginger Perfect Chicken is my favorite.

In an effort that o appeal to the American taste they make their food too sweet. O the point that a curry will be sweeter than their traditional sweet and spicy sauce Couldn t finish the food because of the sweetness. The spices and the cooking are right. First impressions are everything, and unfortunately, this restaurant did not impress us. The appetizers took 30 minutes to arrive, and the main plate took over an hour. We had other people seat and ordered and got their food while we were still waiting. We were told that there was a party so they put our food last I guess. I guess well be trying other Thai places instead while were in town.

Wonderful Thai cuisine that is full of flavor with a great atmosphere. They brew a light beer that is good, but you definitley should try the Thai ice tea if you like sweet drinks.

I got take out and they have a separate section up top you can go in order to grab your food, making the process really simple. The lunch combination of Spicy Beef on Rice was really good and they give a nice portion for the price. I also ordered the Curry Puff, and while I thought it was a little expensive for the amount, it tasted great.

Calamari was like chewing on rubber not even close to edible.

Went to this place based on reviews and was incredibly disappointed. Walked in and the staff couldn t figure out who was waiting on us had three different people help us. Ordered calamari, had one piece and left. The calamari wasn t edible. Wasn t bite through, or flavorful. Cannot recommend.

I went to Patio Thai last night for the first time in about eight years and I was excited to try it again. We were sat quick in the back room which was pretty snug with other diners but thats not abnormal in Richmond. Our drink and appetizer order was taken relatively quickly but then we didnt see our server for another 20 minutes - a different employee came up to our table to take our order after sitting for 30 minutes. The curry puffs (our appetizer) was good but we only got two small ones for $9. My husbands food came out in 30 minutes and my food was not brought out for another 20 minutes. There were no servers in the back room to ask about food or our check when we were finished. The food tasted good it just wasnt the best experience overall.

Please go to this place ASAP when you are in the Richmond area it was so wonderful! From the food to the service to the atmosphere, but especially that food Really really delicious! One of the best nights I ve had in a while

I have nothing bad to say! The food was out of this world! I ate here each day while in town. The curries were each awesome. The lamb curry was amazing! They were very quick to prepare food and bring it out. Great friendly service. And I really dig the eclectic decor! The court yard was still open and a great spot to enjoy a fall lunch!

We ordered takeout on a Sunday night and the pickup process was very unclear and inefficient, but I couldve gotten over that if the food was even remotely good. The basics (pad thai and drunken noodles) were the worst, flavorless thai food Ive ever had. The noodles were all mushy and had zero spice or flavor, the meat was dry and bland. We literally threw it all away!

First time in Richmond, VA for business and I came across The Patio Thai Restaurant and needless to say I will be back. I ordered Grilled Salmon Curry and it was delicious, good amount of food and the service was great!
