A casual restaurant in Crystal Beach, Ontario. Homemade food, from our family to yours.
My friend and I stopped for a meal and sat at the bar. The service was fabulous, Abby took great care of us. The other staff were great as well, chatting with us about the menu and the restaurant. The food and atmosphere were amazing too, we’ll definitely be back!!
This place is incredible! We went here on a whim on a Saturday and obviously couldn't get a table, but were able to order takeout. We then made a reservation for 4 weeks later and it was well worth it! The mozzarella sticks have some of the best breading that I've ever had. The penne alla vodka was exactly how I wanted it and my wife's veal parm was fantastic. I had the chicken parm when we had takeout and even that was great in a takeout container! They even gave us cannoli for my wife's birthday! I'm already planning my next visit back here as it's worth the 2 hour drive!
Rizzo’s House of Parm is an absolute gem!. The food is incredible—perfectly executed dishes that make you feel like you’re enjoying a home-cooked Italian meal. But the true standout here is Alex, the bartender extraordinaire. His dirty martinis are nothing short of perfection—balanced, crisp, and utterly indulgent. And his fresh Loganberry creations? Unparalleled! You can tell he takes immense pride in his craft, blending flavors with precision and care. Alex’s expertise behind the bar is worth the trip alone! Adding to the amazing experience, our server Corina was absolutely excellent—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Her impeccable service made our visit even more memorable. Rizzo’s is a must-visit for top-notch food, drinks, and hospitality!
I had dinner at this restaurant with a good friend and it was a fantastic experience. I ordered the classic chicken Parmesan, and it was absolutely delicious—flavorful and perfectly cooked. The ambiance was cozy and charming, with a nostalgic, old-school Italian vibe that reminded me of some of the best spots in New York City. Our server, Stephanie, was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back in the future. Highly recommend!
It was a beautiful late summer meal! The decor is well chosen. Feels old school but elevated but not snooty. Our server was super friendly and had great suggestions. We shared the mozzarella sticks which is a must. We also shared the entrees which was recommended. The vodka pasta is the best. The carbonara is very rich. And that chicken parm is awesome! We finished off with mint chocolate chip ice cream and a brownie. We definitely want to come back and try more dishes!
Tap In! My Familia and I went for my Wife's Birthday. We reserved through Open Table which was a convenient and easy option. The Host was great. We ordered The Ceasar salad ( The kids and I were not a fan of the bread crumbs or dressing but my wife liked it) Sausage and Peppers ( Peppers were flavorful, peeled and cooked to perfection , Would be nice to have onions in there or offer it on a bun ), Mozza Sticks were fantastic and the Marinara sauce was on point,We also ordered the Chicken Parm ,& The Calamari , My Kids got the Mac & 3 Cheese and Loved it, & lastly we also ordered the Penne alla Vodka . Overall it wasn't bad. We went because we wanted to check out the Hype & Kids use Matheson's Pancake recipe. We had some Pellegrino Bottles , Babe had Red Wine and we ordered few Sodas ( we enjoyed it being from a can and not the syrup machine ) Overall worth the 40min drive to go there, Price was very comparable to anywhere else.
One word - amazing. Ate our way into an enjoyable food coma. Quality of the food is super, portions are generous and the overall vibe of the restaurant is very cool/cute. We really enjoyed the mozzarella sticks; the duo sauce for the calamari is fantastic; chicken parm is a must; vodka pasta was great. 10/10 recommend and can’t wait to go back.
We have dined at Rizzo's twice now (having driven from Northern Ontario specifically to visit) and were blown away each time! We had a Saturday reservation and were pleased to see a packed restaurant full of happy diners. We decided to have the Chef's Menu as it gave us the opportunity to try quite a bit of the menu. Would recommend this to anyone as everything we had tasted amazing and was seasoned to perfection. You definitely will not leave here hungry! The tiramisu is the best we've ever had and have enjoyed it both times we visited. The staff here are exceptional! They go over and above to ensure a great dining experience, creating such a fun & relaxed vibe. We look forward to when we're able to come back!
Dinner was great! The calamari was perfect with the dipping sauces.
Went there last night for the first time. My partner and I both decided to go with the Chefs Menu. Honestly... wow! Such an amazing experience and amazing food! The Chefs Menu is well worth the money as you get to try a little bit of everything and you get A LOT! Our favourites: the creamy polenta, lasagna, mozza sticks, and of course the tiramisu. The staff are just as amazing as the food. Above and beyond service. We left so excited to tell our friends and family about this place.
Great attention to detail. Friendly service. Will be back.
Worth trying for sure. Small. Loud. But service was great. Food was good. Pasta was a little too al dente for my tastes but was still delicious.
This restaurant s a local favorite that serves decent food. However, they never pick up the phone when you try to call to place a takeout order and their voice message advises you to place your order online. I did that even though my preference is to speak with a real person similar to the other area restaurants who do pick their phone. I then went into the restaurant and to the bar to pick up my take out order as I normally would at any other restaurant. I was then asked by an employee to wait behind the curtain at the front entrance for my order? Why? Was I not dressed appropriately or did I emulate an offensive smell? I did not see any signage advising take out customers of this requirement and I found this request to be very rude & very offensive as Im sure other customers overheard this request by the employee. I have worked in the restaurant and retail service industries for over 40 years and I would never have treated a customer in this manner with respect to a simple take out order. Regardless of whether you are dining in or taking out, a Customer is a Customer and they should not be looked upon as nothing more than an inconvenience. Shame on you!
Some of the best food I have ever had. The staff was warm, welcoming and very professional. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. Awesome, awesome place
Food was amazing. Service was very good. Restaurant was clean and cozy.
An excellent restaurant for special occasions!
SO WORTH THE HYPE! We were staying Niagara falls from Toronto and had lunch here but would 100% drive two hours just for the food. The food is amazing, definately recommend the mozza sticks, burrata, calamari and mattys salad to start. Eggplant parm and chicken parm were amazing and the tiramisu and cannolis were the perfect sweet treat. The staff is amazing and so caring. the space is so cute and cozy! big fan and will be back
The food. Was. So. Good. I could probably eat a whole pot of that Ricotta Gnocchi. The wait was long but it was a Saturday and the food was killer so it makes sense. The staff were great, friendly atmosphere, and the espresso martini was delicious. I would make a reservation a couple days in advance,
We ate the menu. Go hungry.
The attention to details is amazing, the food has tonne of depth and flavors thatll blow your mind. 100% book a reservation.
Delicious food and great service!
We went for my brothers birthday and everything was perfect!!
We drove in from Hamilton (about 1 hour away) for a family dinner (2 adults + 1 teen) and decided to do the chef s menu. We don t usually go out for Italian food because we have it at home, but wanted to try the restaurant we ve seen so much hype for online and because we are fans of Matty s other endeavours. For the most part, the service was the star here for us- Naomi was knowledgeable with the wines and helpful explaining the chef s menu (which is what we picked). Would have tried some cocktails but it s a long drive home. I appreciate that every member of the staff during service was attentive and seemed invested in our experience- asking what our favourite item was, explaining what they were dropping off. There s really no room to wait inside if you arrive 15 mins early, I d say aim for 5 mins early or be prepared to potentially wait in your vehicle if the weather is cooler. Chef s menu consisted of 3 courses - apps/starters were Caesar salad, meatballs, mozzarella sticks, focaccia. Main course was a parm of your choice (we went with veal), lasagna, penne a la vodka, a side spaghetti, and rapini. Dessert was tiramisu and 2 types of cannolis. They timed everything well, we had tons of food to take home. If the chef s menu is not for you, the menu is small but has enough variety and vegetarian options. For the 3 of us, our fave bites were the rapini, lasagna and dessert. Nothing was mind-blowing for us, nothing was bad. At a steep price tag plus long drive, probably not somewhere we d return to, but a fun experience anyway. Thanks Rizzo s! Vegetarian options: Mozzarella sticks, eggplant parm, salad, rapini, polenta, focaccia, shells, gnocchi ++
Conner and his staff do it right! Thanks to Matty for bringing great food and service to this sleepy Hollow town Food
We had a great dinner and lunch on two different occasions. Solid place to eat.
Made the trek out to Crystal Beach for a birthday dinner. We got there well earlier than our reservation time and the staff were very accommodating to seat us early. The waitress asked us if we were celebrating anything special and we responded it was my birthday dinner, other than birthday wishes from the waitress no other birthday acknowledgments like a candle or message with dessert. The food was just okay and nothing special. We ordered the calamari, meatballs, eggplant parm, rapini and tiramisu. Everything basically tasted the same as most dishes were made with the house marinara sauce. The eggplant parm was 1/4 of the size of the chicken or veal parm that we saw from other guests. The side pasta didn t taste homemade as it looked and tasted just like regular boxed spaghetti. The best part of the meal were the meatballs which were super moist and the Tiramisu which was great. It was good to try the restaurant once but we won t be back.
Delicious food, super charming restaurant and amazing staff.
Today was my third time visiting House of Parm. The quality of the food was excellent, however, this was our first time getting take out and we were disappointed that the portion of the Chicken Parm was substantially smaller (about half) than the plate served in house. Its understandable based on the size and popularity of the restaurant that reservations go fast, but Id take a pass if you arent able to snag a seat given the value for the price point for the take out.
I seriously wish I could give more than 5 stars! We had an absolutely incredible experience and can t wait to come back again. We drove about 2.5 hours from Durham region to come here after obsessing over it on TikTok for months lol. And let me tell you Rizzos did not disappoint! Firstly, the service was outstanding- such friendly and welcoming staff that took the time to chat with us, get to know us and were so genuine and lovely it was so nice to see that. The food was perfection. We ordered mozzarella sticks, meatballs, chicken and veal parm, carbonara and bolognese and everything was a hit! The quality of the ingredients, flavor and everything was on point. We re both Italian and we thought the food tasted very authentic to our family s cooking! The vibe of the restaurant is very cozy, no need to dress up just wear your comfiest sweater and some loose pants because you re going to be full haha. We were too full for dessert but they kindly sent us home with a complementary tiramisu for our anniversary. Overall, we were blown away with our experience and it was definitely worth the drive! Thank you Rizzo s! Amanda & Matt
Went for dinner, had a fantastic meal. The food was very authentic and tasty. The drinks were phenomenally made. The ambience was very pleasant. Very nice music and a very nice vibe. The employees were very kind and always present to help.
Yummy spot for comforting Italian food. Get a reservation and be sure to try the calamari and eggplant parm! Friendly service and atmosphere.
Look, I am not a fan of Italian-American food or Matty Matheson (although he was adorable in the Bear). But even still, I can t write a bad review. The service and ambience was amazing. The place just had heart. I thought the food was actually interesting and affordable. Very charming interior design. For me, the tiramisu wasn t quite a tiramisu but edible. My husband really enjoyed it, however. We were so happy we got to dine there on a Friday night no reservation.
Yes chef! Had a great meal tonight. Got the chicken parm with spaghetti. Had a affogato delicious. Tried the mozzarella sticks. All top notch.
Wow great food great service and great friends
brother... drove three hours to come here for my friends birthday. the service was out of this friggin world. our server was SO kind and so on the ball. we ordered the mozza sticks and stone fruit burrata for the table and I could CRY thinking about that burrata. I wish I was still eating it. it was so bomb. I ordered the eggplant parm with a side spaghetti and it was unreal. unlike any eggplant parm Ive had. 10/10 would recommend. so friggin YUMMY
A really great experience! Our table of four went with the chefs menu (3 separate courses) and ended up with more food than we could handle. Everything was delicious. We had so much food covering the table. The service was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was both classy and comfy!
Unbelievably good food. The best chicken parm I ve ever had in my life. Abby at the bar was amazing as well!
Fantastic place. Great food, incredible portions. Get the Chefs tasting menu!
We celebrated our 21st anniversary tonight. Rizzos did not disappoint. From our greeting from Connor to the exceptional service and amazing food. If you like authentic home style Italian food this place knocks it out of the park. You have to visit and have a bottle of Opere! We will be back.
Amazing food with generous portions, clean and welcoming vibes, and incredibly friendly folks. Simply put: amazing!
Tonight I had the best birthday meal of my life at Rizzo s. Everything was perfect. I love the casual dining atmosphere. The food was spectacular. Erika was our server and her recommendations and service were fantastic! Thank you Erika and everyone at Rizzo s for a memorable dinner.
Ive been to Rizzos about 5 times now. It is by far my favourite spot in town. Always delicious and service goes above and beyond. Big shout out to Shana for always ensuring we have the best time!
My 5 year old sons review... better than Nobu!
This was a 10/10 dining experience. The food is perfect, the service is perfect. John that works here was extremely kind to us, as were all the waitstaff
Parm heaven, great service (thank u Stephanie), immaculate vibes. The chef tasting menu is 100% worth it. hits: mozzarella sticks, veal parm, carbonara
Wish I lived closer! visited in August and October. Everything was spectacular. Server in August, didnt catch her name, but she was amazing. Server in October, Kim, lovely and no pressure. It was very busy, but she was attentive and fast with anything we wanted. Matty, you have done a great thing by opening in your home town. I live in Waterdown and we could use one there too. The Penne Ala Vodka was the best I have ever had. Wheelchair accessibility: All on one level.
My new favorite Italian restaurant. Intimate vibes, friendly and attentive staff, incredible flavor. What more could you ask for? We already can t wait to come back. Thank you, Alex! Your service was awesome. For reference, for two people we ordered the freshly made focaccia bread + eggplant parm + chicken parm (both side of spaghetti) + tiramisu and dark chocolate cannolis = incredible food coma.
amazing experience! food was 10/10 and service was great! our waitress checked on us often and was very helpful. the manager came at the end of our meal to check on us which was very kind. the food was so hot and the cheese was amazing. thick portion of veal which was nice!
Amazing night celebrating a mobster themed birthday in the private room. Nigel and the staff were as amazing as the food!!!!
What an amazing experience! Staff was super friendly and all round phenomenal. Felt like you were visiting family for a meal. All the food we had was delicious. Standouts were the polenta and corn, penne alla vodka (best I ever had), and veal parm although honestly everything was truly fabulous! We made the drive from Toronto and it was so worth it!!
Food was amazing. Our Server Karina wasnt very attentive. Asked once if we were good, no refills, the busing staff were great on keeping the table clear. We finished our supper and we were very interested in dessert. Unfortunately we sat there for over 20 minutes. We gave up and passed on dessert. Another 10 minutes for our bill. 5 more for a machine. Food was amazing. Ill be back for that alone but I highly recommend a bit of improvement on the service from this employee
Fast food Italian. Surprised there wasn t a drive thru.
What an incredible dining experience! This was a spur of the moment road trip from Toronto for us and definitely worth the trip. Because it was last minute, we werent able to get a reservation in advance - if you can, I highly suggest it, as this place is in TOP demand, and very limited space is available for any walk-ins. We arrived 15 minutes before it opened and that meant we could get a seat without TOO long a wait, but we were definitely counting ourselves lucky. We were a group of four and opted for the Chefs Menu. This is a great value and SO. MUCH. FOOD. Every single dish was delicious and I think we were able to taste over half of the menu by choosing this option. The staff and service was all completely top notch on top of incredible food. Fantastic atmosphere - I will definitely make a point to come back here anytime Im remotely near the area. Maybe even a whole other trip from Toronto just for another visit. Ill be sure to bring a healthy appetite!
Very Hard to review Rizzo, Matty is a legend, parm was on point, house wine was little disappointing but got an Italian Pino and was great, the sauce on the pasta was a bit plain, I was hoping for alot more but overall I support local and proud Matty brought something home, staff was amazing, definitely will return
The tiramisu is probably the best I ve ever had. Really good cheese sticks. The chicken parm was good but nothing to go out of your way for. The calamari was over crispy, dry, and lacked salt. The spaghetti lacked salt. The tomato sauce for the parm and to dip in is amazing. I ll give it another try when I am in the area.
No words beyond ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
Amazing food, just tastes good and fresh! We had the chefs menu and added calamari...too much food! But so good. Pasta cooked perfect every single thing is delicious! Came for our anniversary and got champagne and a sweet card highly recommend !! call ahead make a reso and enjoy the amazing service thank you Alex!! DONT MISS THIS SPOT! WE WILL BE BACK XO
Great food, huge portions!!!
Such a great place. I recommend getting the chefs menu so you can try everything out. Its served family style with a ton of food. Everything was so good, but especially the chicken Parm, eggplant parm and vodka penne. This place is a must.
My family and I went to Rizzos for a celebratory dinner. Not only was the food phenomenal, the service was fantastic as well. Prompt yet laid back which isnt always the the case, you usually get one or the other! Cheers to Shaina for the great welcome, service and send off. We did the chefs menu for 5 people and holy moly! The food just kept coming. For $65 its a steal. For not only the amount of food but the quality, it was the right choice. Getting to try so many dishes was a highlight for our taste buds. We had... Mozzarella sticks Calamari Mattys Salad Burrata Roasted Rosemary Potatoes Rapini Chicken Parm Meatballs Eggplant Parm Penne alla Vodka Mattys Tagliatelle Bolognese Spaghetti Pomodoro Tiramisu Cannoli 1 vegetarian at the table was very happy with the offerings as well and as someone who is not an eggplant person, I found myself going back for another bite! Im not a rapini person - too bitter - but my sister did the wine pairing and was blown away by how the wine cut the bitterness. She was pleased overall with the pairings. While everything was fantastic, Id say the standouts for us as a group were... the penne, mozzarella, both parms and the cannoli! Id do bad things for a regular visit with those cannoli, words I never thought Id say! It felt very small town Niagara, the warmth, good food, friendly service and homey vibes were on point. We all left full and happy and pledging to go back.
We had the pleasure of dining here on Monday. Our waitress Abbey was top notch, seriously so fantastic, friendly, just amazing. We had take out here before which was great. However, dining in was EVEN BETTER. Do you love Caesar salad? You dont even know until you try this one. Its huge and the best we have EVER had. The stuffed shells were to die for as well as the chicken parm. The moz sticks are amazing. Tiramisu for dessert was OMG fabulous I went home to try and make reservations again! Pick a random date and reserve, its not easy to get in, but it is SO worth it I promise. Im picky and I loved everything. Seriously, the best restaurant ever.
Loud, food wasn t authentic. I ve tried ordering take out no one answers the phone and you can t customize things the way you like online. Horrible experiences all around
Great service and wonderful food. Well worth the trip Kid-friendliness: We had our 10 month old granddaughter with us and the staff could not have been more helpful or understanding Food : 5/5 |
Its absolutely amazing. It is rare that an entire group enjoys everything they have at a restaurant. Not a single complaint. We were all very satisfied, including the 3 year old at the table. Our table tried; mozza sticks, salad, bruchetta, meatballs, chicken parm, spaghetti, shrimp scampi, tiramisu, mint chip icecream w. brownie, and vanilla ice cream. Everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend a visit!
This place is a vibe and the food was amazing
I ve never looked at a parm the way I looked at the parm. Perfect attention to detail here and try everything on the menu.
Amazing place. Had the mozzarella sticks, chicken parm (of course) with side spaghetti, pappardelle alla scampi, and cannolis. Mozzarella sticks and chicken parm were fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised by the spaghetti, there s just something about simple ingredients done really well. Didn t love the cannolis, when we went, they had pistachio and some citrus flavour. The citrus was too overpowering. Other than that, everything was great. Would recommend!
Everything is amazing except for those green vegetables. PLEASE, PLEASE, offer a different vegetable. As well, I would suggest offering other side dishes other than just the bolognaise. It would give an opportunity to taste something that might be ordered next time. Food
After many months of wanting to dine at Rizzos, I was recently in the area and had the pleasure of finally making it a reality. Our server was the incredibly warm and super attentive Mikayla (spelling?)- she was just so lovely. The much talked about mozzarella sticks were fine, but hardly the revelation so many make them out to be- the marinara is lovely, however. The chicken parm was really great, but I wouldnt necessarily drive 2+ hours for it- Id be curious to try the eggplant and veal parms on future visits. The real star of the show, for us, was that vodka penne- it was so incredibly rich, flavourful, decadent, and with a great array of textures. It has now been several days since our visit, yet still, all I can think about is that vodka penne... my gosh. I am very seriously considering driving all the way back, even without any other business to tend to in the area, just to indulge in it again. And then to top it off, what is probably the best tiramisu Ive had anywhere in Canada, and I fancy myself something of a tiramisu connoisseur. Only reason Im deducting one star is how *incredibly* noisy the restaurant is. Im no acoustical engineer, so cant speak as to why its such, but Id love to get a decibel meter in there just for a laugh, to see how many dbs were talking. It was difficult just to maintain a conversation at our table without really raising our voices. Im super easy-going with that kind of thing typically, it really doesnt bother me, but here its likely the worst Ive encountered. Other than that, we had a perfect introduction to Rizzos and will most certainly be back- cannot wait to dine with you again, and to try several other menu items!
Just paid 100$ for takeout their portion is unbelievable for that price I will definitely never be ordering from here again the penne is gross the meatballs are way overcooked seriously disappointed
THE BEST PLACE ON EARTH!!! Anyone who says this place isn t absolutely incredible doesn t understand restaurants and doesn t understand food. The portions are massive and the service is absolutely exceptional.
Im lucky enough to have a niece that lives in Buffalo and just loves this place and Matty.. So she took me.. Wow! Parms are great.. Veggies are fresh.. Tiramisu awesome... And afagado! The real way! Ill be back as often as I go to Buffalo to visit! And Im bringing friends!
This place is as about as authentic as the Olive Garden, at double the price. Save you money and gas and book a table at East Side Mario s or something
In cheese we trust Get the mozza sticks they are a religious experience Food
Didnt see what all the hype was all about, walked inside to the 90s atmosphere, someone shouting orders like hes Gordon Ramsey, Mozzarella sticks were salty, bread was rationed, my veal Parm was a little small, but incredibly salty! And overcooked, Tiramisu was ok, way too much cocao. Ordered an espresso that was served in a cappuccino cup. Im old school Italian, and this was so disappointing. $ 220 for the 3 of us seems a bit expensive for the area, and type of food being served. I dont know about the you gotta eat here tag. This ranks with East Side Marios, IL Fornello, and Olive Garden. Not Italian!!!
Ive experienced first class Italian cuisine in Romania via an Italian chef. So somewhat of a pasta snub. When I first heard reservations were made for an Italian restaurant, my gut reaction was oh... okay... Having experienced rizzos pasta, it fully lived up to what I hoped for rather than what I feared. All the pasta was exquisite, and the salads and greens were a delicious surprise, elevated beyond expectation with the bread crumbs.
Servers were nice, but the food was boring. Couple things came out a bit cold, everything was really salty but not flavourful. Feels like Matty is just opening restaurants for the sake of it/expanding his empire rather than out of an interest in serving good food.
Absolutely amazing,
Everything we had was fantastic. Some of the tastiest tomato sauces for the pasta and chick/veal Parmesan.
Delicious food and amazing service. I would definitely visit again!
Had a phenomenal dinner here, and the food was out of this world. The service is also amazing. We tried the chefs menu which was awesome and such a great way to try so many different things, but beware its A TON of food but great if you have a big appetite and dont mind taking some leftovers to go. My favourite dishes were the meatballs, the chicken parm, and the penne alla vodka. All the dishes were delicious, but the chicken parm was truly the star of the show for me. Definitely worth the hype if youre wondering, I cant wait to come back.
An excellent experience, from the moment we entered, to Karina our server (thank you), to the food and ambiance. Kevin the chef made it more memorable too! Thanks for the anniversary cannolis 10 outta 10
My wife and I had a fantastic first experience at Rizzos. The service was absolutely flawless when they took us from the bar to our table. (We ordered a app so food was involve). All the staff were friendly and the food was top notch. Try a weekday for easy reservation. Will definitely be back.
Ordered take out. Eggplant parm and focaccia. It was delicious and the service was fast and kind. Vegetarian options: Lots of options
My friends and I came from Toronto to celebrate my birthday and we had a wonderful experience! We tried the mozzarella sticks, focaccia, eggplant and chicken parms, and tiramisu for dessert everything was delicious! Our server Kim was amazing she made sure we were taken care of! Overall, we had a lovely experience and cannot wait to return! Thank you for making my birthday so special! Vegetarian options: I m vegetarian and loved the eggplant parm! Highly recommend!
Wow!!! What a great dining experience. A friend and I drove up to Crystal Beach from London specifically to get dinner at Rizzos House of Parm and, sweet Lord, was it ever worth it!! We had booked a seat at the bar for 430pm on October 12th, but I guess they had a no show so we were able to snag a table. The hostesses were great and super nice. The booth had a really comfy pillow and was a nice seat. I didnt ask my friend about the chair she sat in but I didnt hear any complaints. We split the focaccia with parm. Perfection. My friend had the shells and I had the Bolognese; both were insane. Ive never had better. And we split the tiramisu after, which we could not finish because we were full, and it was so perfectly rich and so refined. Wow. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly and helpful, she joked with us, checked on us but didnt overbear the table. She made great suggestions and was a lovely part of the experience. Overall, I loved making the trip to Rizzos for a meal. The whole thing felt elevated without being pretentious. It was homey and it was comfortable, but it was also very sophisticated. The atmosphere felt familiar but there was an insane a attention to detail. All of the little things that didnt matter still made it better.
I ve read all of the reviews and I know that I ll be getting some surprised responses, but here goes. We ordered the chicken parm, side pasta and an order of meatballs. Presentation was nice, but I must say, weve never eaten such greasy oily food ever! About quarter way into our meal I had to stop because the amounts of oil in everything was making me feel gross;( the waitress asked if we wanted it wrapped up to go and I said no thank you as the oil content was just to much , the place was so loud and the chairs were all held together by zip ties , the waitress gave us cardboard containers for the leftovers and we were assured they are leak proof. Well here s the thing, we got home and my wife opened her bag and it leaked from every corner of every container! Ruined her handbag, her eye glass case and our experience, and if you look at the price we paid for this type of food, we were both even more shocked to say the least.its now been over 2 months and not even a call back on our experience, how sad
Do not miss this. Absolutely incredible food! Highly recommend the spicy vodka penne with the most incredible breadcrumbs sprinkled on top. Oh my God it s so good.
How have I not already reviewed this place? Been here three times now with my wife and may be my favourite restaurant of all time. Location is out of the way, but well worth the drive for the chicken parm, mozza sticks, and pastas. 10/10.
We made reservations one month in advance and we drove over 4 hours to try this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Our waitress Karina was absolutely amazing. We started with an Espresso Martini and a Dirty Logan Shirley and both drinks were to die for. We also had the mozzarella sticks, the house-baked focaccia, the chicken parm with a side of spaghetti, and the brownie with ice cream. The atmosphere was lively but cozy. Well definitely be visiting again!
Rizzos is spotless. Our reservation was for 4pm and they did not open the door one second early. Maitre d was friendly and sat us beside the Kitchen and server station. Our server was cheerful, knowledgeable and made good recommendations. Food was delicious. Their tomato sauce is the best Ive ever had, ever. House wine was perfect, desert was a great ending. Tasty espresso. Chicken Parm, 5 Star Veal Parm, 5 Star Side of Spaghetti, 5 Star Calamari, 5 Star Cannoli and Tiramisu, 5 Star Thanks for having us. We will be back and were bringing friends.
First time in canada this was our last meal of vacation. They made it special great food attentive without rushing. Let us choose we went with friends and it was amazing. We started with mozzarella sticks and calamari. Best we have had. Loved the dual sauce delicious. Kids had spaghetti and meat balls and the lemon shells. Both were delicious. The homemade pepper was a great addition to the veal parmesean and side spaghetti. All were seasoned amazingly. Only thing that was lacking was the beer for a peach beer wanted more peach. We ended with dessert kids were torn so we got one of each. Cherry and chocolate cannoli reminded me of a sophisticated cherry cordial chocolate. The mint icecream and brownie was chocolate delicious and gooey and warm. Perfect meal with great waitress attentive but not hovering. For a foodie we try alot of restraunts this is one of the few that makes us want to come back over and over. Kid-friendliness: Were worried some fine dining dont do well with kids but she treated them well and answered their questions and let them order plus engaged them like any other guest. Great server worth keeping.
Went to Rizzo s to celebrate my son s university graduation. Good choice food was excellent, service was great, food came quickly and everything tasted very very good. Portion Sizes were very good. Highly recommended. Will return soon.
Awesome experience. Felt that I was in my moms basement. Food and service were incredible.
Everything was absolutely fantastic. Met all of our expectations! The chef tasting menu was incredibly worth it. Our server, Kim, was also wonderful. Thank you Rizzo s
Food was truly outstanding and came quickly. All meant for sharing. The restaurant has their own wine and canned cocktails made locally. Prices are very reasonable given the portion sizes. Service was prompt and servers/bartenders seemed very pleasant/happy. Restaurant is small and although busy, is not over-crowded or loud. Lots of parking outside. Highly recommend!
Came here and had a great meal and amazing service from Karina (Carina?) We also got complimentary champagne because we were celebrating our engagement! We ll be back!!
Outstanding.. Standouts were calamari, ceasar salad, chicken parm... Definitely recommend!
To be surprised by the quality of the food, service and the ambience is an understatement. The night started off with a couple drinks, mainly the Rizzo s Americano and the White Negroni. Can t forget the meatballs, which were to die for. Super saucy, super juicy and incredibly flavorful (bonus points for the caramelization on the outside of the meatballs!) Then we pivoted towards the shells and the chicken parm with spaghetti. WOW. The shells were cooked perfectly, with the ricotta and lemon filling complementing the flavorful tomato bolognese. Don t get me started on the chicken parm. Crispy, even with the sauce on there. The cheese on top was broiled perfectly, and the chicken was still juicy and flavorful by itself as well. During our visit here, the staff went above and beyond for us. Especially Corinna and Shaina. They were both spectacular, and made this dinner for me and my brother unforgettable! Vegetarian options: The staff was super open to vegetarian options!
We started off with the calamari which was very good. I ordered the chicken parm- it was bland and watered down. It s also a very pricy establishment for what you get. Definitely overhyped because of who the chef is. Service was great though!
The service was excellent, and our waitress was truly outstanding! The food was delicious with generous portions. I highly recommend trying the cherry cannolis they were fantastic!
We really enjoyed our meal at Rizzos! The food was fantastic and tasted like homemade comfort food. The salads were spectacular! The mozza sticks were amazing! The chicken parm was absolutely fantastic! Service was exceptional and it really felt like everyone on the staff was fully invested in making sure everyone had an exceptional experience being there! Highly recommend!
Great experience overall at Rizzos. Dont expect to get a seat without a reservation, even during the week! We came by twice in a row to try more options. Top recommendation is obviously the Parmigiana - we went with the chicken parm both nights. The Taglietelle Bolognese & Mozzarella Sticks are next in line. The mozz stick marinara was much sweeter than the chicken parm sauce. The Stuffed Shells and Meatballs were good, but you need to be ready for a lot of cheese if youre going the shell route. Unfortunately, the miss for me was the Carbonara, which is a rare dish, so I appreciate that it was available, but it was overly salty. The parm sauce seemed a bit acidic the first night, but the second was much better. Service was friendly and great. The environment was a little loud but expected in a small space. The wood panelling gives it a homey vibe. I would definitely come back!
Amazing service, friendly staff, great vibes and food. My friends and I were visiting from Toronto and got very lucky to get seated before it was all booked up for the day. Abbey felt like a friend by the end of our meal, she had amazing energy. While Abbey was away for a bit, Amen (I am likely spelling his name completely wrong, my apologies) made sure to come and check up on us in case we needed anything. Thank you both for the incredible service and going along with our jokes, we had an amazing time,
Food was amazing!
This place was so delicious and such a cute spot! Although it was tough to get a reservation, we had to book a few weeks in advance, it was very worth it. Definitely pricey but not bad for a special occasion.
If you re looking for authentic Italian food, do NOT go here, but if you want exceptional Italian-American comfort food, GO NOW! Everything we ate was incredible, but the mozzarella sticks are the very best I ve ever had. Highly recommended.
Excellent food and service!
LITERALLY THE BEST MEAL I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!! Chicken Parm was out of this world!! If youve wanted to try Rizzos dont wait a second longer! It is phenomenal
-Garlic & Parm Focaccia -Mozzarella Sticks * -Rigatoni Carbonara * -Penne with Vodka * -Pappardelle alla Scampi ** -Martys Tagliatelle Bolognese -Tiramisu
The food was top tier - fan favorite was the penne vodka. The bar was slow and we finished our appetizer before the drinks arrived. Also, two different rounds of drinks were served in the wrong glass. That may have contributed to us not caring for the drinks. The interior was very appealing and the environment was an interesting mix of special but casual. I think the experience could be elevated by the lights being dimmed slightly during dinner service Vegetarian options: Plenty of options available! Parking: Small parking lot available
Ive been wanting to go to Rizzos FOREVER, so I finally decided to make the trek from Toronto to Fort Erie, and...it was so worth it. Even before being seated, I felt like I was being expected, like a friend coming over for dinner (I made a reservation weeks ago, but the staff made it feel extra special). Everyone was so incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. And of course the food was incredible. Highly recommend the eggplant parm and spaghetti pomodoro. Their red sauce is ah-ma-zing. I wish I could have ordered everything on the menu, so its probably best to go with as many people as possible so you can share multiple dishes, and try lots of things. I got an A+ tiramisu to go because I was stuffed from the main dish. For an extra special treat, I even spotted Matty in the parking lot! Do yourself a favour, and make a reservation NOW. Parking: A good amount of spots available in the parking lot, but I went pretty early (5pm), so Im not sure what its like later in the evening. I dont know if you can park on the street. Wheelchair accessibility: I saw at least two wheelchair accessible parking spots.
First timer here, and will be back again. We had to try the chefs menu and it did not disappoint!! Food
Stuffed shells were so good! Staff was awesome very welcoming! We can t wait to go back!
My husband and I have been wanting to try Rizzos for months now! It was definitely worth the wait and did not disappoint!! Hands down the best meatballs Ive ever had in my life!!! The service was outstanding and all the food was timed perfectly!! We cant wait to go back again.
Tried the Mozza Sticks, Veal Parm, Tagliatelle Bolognese, and Cherry Cannoli, everything was really nice. Great acidic tomato sauce on the Veal Parm, the Bolognese was much more subdued in acidity and instead was very savoury and soul warming. The service was great, I only did takeout, as they were absolutely slammed, and yet they till managed to get my order to me on time and with a welcoming attitude. I look forward to dining in sometime soon, the restaurant itself is cozy and intimate, but not at all a stuffy, nose in the air Italian setting. Instead it is a classic family style ambience, smells of potpourri, tomatoes, and cheese, which was super nostalgic and made me want to stay just to reminisce memories the smell provoked. Great job to all the staff there, restaurant work is difficult at the best of times, and they were absolutely packed which seems to be commonplace for them. Kudos to all of them who made it through another busy service, I hope they all got to take a moment for the family meal before the dinner rush came through.
If you give this place anything less than 5 stars you are a nerd. With todays prices of food and quality, this place has the best of both. My fiancee and I went twice because we wanted to try multiple dishes. First trip was lunch and we had the calamari with mattys salad and chicken parm. I have no idea how they make such a delicious sauce foe the calamari but I would have this with anything. Chicken parm was also cooked perfectly.. nice and crispy and soft on the inside. Second trip, we had mozzarella sticks, carbonara and the penny a la vodka. I could honestly say the Penne was the best pasta Ive ever had in North America. Will def be back
Went for takeout and this place never disappoints!
We are writing a more detailed review because the gap between the good dishes and the not so good dishes was noticeably wide. The burrata was literally the best burrata I have had. The calamari was also excellent. The limoncello cocktail was flavourless and very disappointing. As for the mains, the parms were good. The rapini was great. Unfortunately, the rigatoni carbonara had so much thick, gloopy sauce at the bottom of the bowl it was not possible to finish. The chicken piccata, which I personally was looking forward to, was bland and unpleasant. Lastly, the warm chocolate brownie with ice cream was delicious - easy 10/10. So like I said, high highs and low lows. Fun experience though and good service.
Beautiful food and atmosphere
Had a delightful time here - Mikyla was lovely and attentive throughout and the food was amazing, particularly the tiramisu. I was super touched when they found out I was visiting from the UK and gifted me some merch to take home! Thank you for such a nice evening! I hope to be back someday
Absolutely amazing place, food was top notch. The mozzarella sticks alone are worth the drive. Made for a good destination on the bike
Superb food!
Small little place in crystal beach, highly recommend the chefs menu! Everything we got was insanely good! Now we are looking for an excuse to come back as soon as we can!
Cute place. Good filling portions Chicken Parm was good, spaghetti and bread were great. Rocket/arugula salad complimented meal well Only let down was penne a la vodka. Tasteless other than an abundance of spiciness
Not sure what all the hype is, average at best. Not the servers fault, kitchen and bar extremely slow, way overpriced for quality.
Over priced, not bad food but way too much money. Patio seats are picnic tables. I think they think theyre a luxury type of place .... they are not.
Love love love!
Honestly words don t do this place justice. Just do yourself a favour and come here. Anything you order will be good, guaranteed. For reference we ordered the mozzarella sticks and eggplant parm + spaghetti.
Food was excellent and the service was top notch
Made a day trip to visit Crystal Beach and check out Rizzos House of Parm. So nice getting out of Toronto to experience good food, value and service. A great gem of a place for American Italian. The servings are big so go with a group or expect leftovers. Had nice dessert options and nice to have a coffee post dinner. While dining I felt like I was in the set of a restaurant similar to The Bear, TV series (organized chaos of food coming in and outta the kitchen). It does get busy, try to get a reservation online or by emailing them. You could try walk-in but I saw the line and wait-list long so to maximize your time/visit to the area, best to book in advanced
I have to say, Rizzos House of Parm offers some of the best food I ve ever tasted. The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Every customer seemed to be thoroughly enjoying their meal. I highly recommend Rizzos House of Parm to anyone in search of exceptional Italian cuisine. 5 out of 5
What a gem in a small town! Delicious food, great atmosphere and superb service. We shared a chicken parm and tagliatelle with bolognese with a wedge salad. All delicious! If you don t have a reservation, come early. The lineups can be long!
Nothing to be said that hasnt been said already. Amazing food made with love and a depth of flavor that was sublime. Mattys Tagliatele Bolognese was so full of flavor and the pasta cooked perfectly. Calamari was the best Ive ever had.
With all the hype surrounding the restaurant, it didn t quite live up to our expectations. We visited yesterday and started with calamari, mozzarella sticks, and Caesar salad, all of which were good. However, the main courses chicken parm, spaghetti, and tagliatelle Bolognese were disappointing. The spaghetti was barely warm but tasted fine, while the Bolognese was overwhelmed by the flavor of uncooked white wine and too much salt, making it nearly inedible and I love salt! Overall, it wasnt anything spectacular, and coming from St. Catharines, I probably wouldn t make the drive again since we have delicious Italian food here. But a shout-out to the hostess, who managed a flurry of random guest requests with grace and a smile!
Delicious and I love the restaurant decor. Such a nice atmosphere and great staff
Unbelievably amazing!
Do yourself a favour and just go! The service is perfect - every single person was super cool and sweet and added to the incredible vibe! The food was tasty and you can tell it was made with love. You better like cheese because most items had no shortage! The standouts were the calamari, spaghetti and the cannolis for sure! We also really enjoyed the variety of cocktails to round out the meal. We went for lunch and were able to check out the blue goose farm after which was lovely! Definitely worth a lil day trip to the ever cute Crystal Beach for some quality food.
Had the chefs menu dinner here. It was amazing. A little bit of everything. Service was fantastic. Highly recommend coming here its worth it. Just remember to make a reservation ahead of time. The amount of food that came with the dinner was so much so be prepared to get fooditus and lots of leftovers. You wont be disappointed
Abby was our attentive server and the parms were delicious! Definitely will return again soon.. Jodi, Jenn and Mary Margaret
I ordered a chicken parm.... disappointed! It was small for the price and burned around the edges....not worth the price!
Wonderful place!! Great food and staff!!!
Good homemade Italian fare, but not so much better than what you can get in Toronto. Standouts were the mozzarella sticks and of course the Veal Parm. Cocktails were a bit pricey for Crystal Beach, ON. Busy joint with a lot of out-of-town diners (myself included). Our party enjoyed all that we ordered, and we left absolutely stuffed. Nonna would have been happy with us. Maybe not worth the drive and prices just to say you went to Matty Matheson s resto. However, if you re going to be in the Niagara Region, then it s definitely worth the visit. You need to plan your visit in advance, and reservations book up fast.
100% worth the drive!!!!!
My review is for the private dining area for groups, downstairs . Plenty of selection of items , they were very accomadating to our dietary requests, amount of food was plentiful . Cool vibe (Nonas house) . There is a private entrance and private bathroom . Great for small events or get togethers. Staff were excellent . Penne alla Vodka was the hands down winner for best food item we enjoyed . No one will leave hungry . I believe the booking minimum for this room is 8 adults . Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian or pescatarian options Dietary restrictions: They accomadated all our requests Parking: Parking lot can get full Kid-friendliness: There is a kids menu here
This aint Eastside Marios. The parm is big enough for two, the spaghetti on the side cost extra and not made from scratch. The portions are generous and prepare to take some home with you. I went with another couple to allow us to try more dishes: the stuff shells, mozzarella sticks, fried calamari, burrata, and kale were all flavourful and cooked to perfection. A reservation is required, and be sure to check out the little store next door. There are about 10-12 tables inside and a patio, and there is free parking on site. Parking: Ample parking Kid-friendliness: There is a kids menu. Wheelchair accessibility: Everything including bathroom on ground floor.
It is easily one of the best restaurants in Fort Erie and better than some in Toronto. We had espresso martinis (probably one of the best espresso martinis I have had in my life). We ordered mozzarella sticks, house-made focaccia ( soft as a cloud), Caesar salad, and rigatoni carbonara. Every bite was a delight. Service is good although we had a wee bit of wait time which is ok. Gave us time to enjoy our martinis and appetizers while waiting for our mains. The ambiance is casual with elevated food. We sat in the patio on a perfect summer day. Everything was 10/10 Parking: Parking is right by the restaurant. We had plenty of spots.
Amazing place...the food was so good.. definitely going back..
Rizzos is a popular place where its hard to get a reservation, so I went (courtesy of my daughter) to see what it was all about. Its small, charming in kind of an open and friendly way, and the staff is truly delightful - I loved the people who waited on me; they couldnt have been nicer. My food was good, not great, but that was OK because I had a nice time. My Caesar salad was tasty - made with pancetta, Parmesan, and anchovy paste - but a little too liberal with the dressing. For a main, I ordered the pasta pomodoro, because I had heard that Rizzos sauce was to die for, but found it to be pretty good but fairly ordinary. In a small town like Ridgeway, Rizzos is definitely a welcome asset, and Im glad that its here. Id return for the pleasant dining experience, but wouldnt necessarily seek it out for the food. Matty Mathewson has a well deserved reputation as a chef, but his considerable talents and ownership arent in evidence at Rizzos.
Rizzo s was an absolute delight. The menu is classic, simple, and amazingly done. You can really tell how much consideration has gone into every element of this restaurant, from the menu, to the ingredients, the dinner ware to the decoration. We ordered the bruschetta and focaccia, penne alla vodka, rigatoni carbonara, a side spaghetti, and tiramisu. Everything was delicious, and we think the penne is a must-try.
Made a reservation after hearing lots of great things and receiving many suggestions from friends. Service and drinks were good (exactly what you d expect) and the food was amazing, once again exactly what you d expect with all the rave. Vodka penne and Caesar salad hit the spot and the tiramisu was a perfect portion to share and finish off the meal. Worth the travel!
Make sure ur have reservations before you come....it can go upto 2-3 hours but worth every minute...the service is amazing, food mouth watering!!! Tiramisu is to die for, Penne Ala vodkas taste still lingers on...a must go place when visiting crystal beach
The food was delicious! The staff was quick and attentive. The seats by the windows got a little warm but the host pulled down the shade. The mozzarella sticks were gooey. The shells and parm were also excellent.
We had such a nice time in this bright and bustling place, we were able to get a walk in table and greeted with such hospitality. Comfort food Loved the americano cocktail, regret not bringing a flat of them home!
Service was very good, food was good, reservations are a must.
Chicken Parm was bomb, service was awesome
Being a huge fan of The Bear. And I heard that Matty Matheson had a restaurant 35 minutes from our house. I knew we had to come! They did not disappoint! Was able to get reservations for lunch, so we took the drive from Buffalo and had an amazing meal! We started with the housemade focaccia (good, but I like mine better ) and mozzarella sticks that were delish, Marinara was so good! Then, we shared the chicken parm and Mattys Tagliatelle bolognese. Both were amazing! The cherry dark chocolate cannolis were scrumptious! Cant wait to go back again to try some other dishes!
One of the best restaurants Ive experienced in a very long time. Food was incredible, and the staff was so amazing. Everyone was nice but not in a Im using my customer service voice kind of way, but they all seemed to genuinely care that we had a good experience. The mozzarella sticks were sooo good, and huge!! Focaccia was impeccable, so was the everything else we ate as well. My husband says he doesnt think hes ever eaten that much in his whole life.
We had heard from our son, about this place. He is a bit of a world traveller so we trust his judgement. We tried to call to make a reso a few times and no one replied. There is a message saying no one is monitoring the phone or emails. We then tried Open Table and were unable to make a reso there either. So we drove fourty minutes, to arrive around 415 on a Sunday, thinking we were missing prime time. The hostess was unable to seat us. She gave us two options to wait a hour for a bar seat or longer for a table, but we had theatre tickets and couldn t wait, so she offered outdoor seating. She left us to wait as she set up our table and returned after five minutes to say we had another twenty minute wait. It s not a huge place but there were four empty bar seats and a few tables. And the outdoor seating was ample. We left with a terrible impression of what is a popular spot. And won t return. When a business is successful they need to nurture their success as it won t always last forever. Word of mouth is a dangerous thing and having the reputation of being so busy they don t care about new business is an attitude we can live without.
Service was ok, best part of our meal was the salad. Pasta sauce was very oily and the meatballs had way too much cheese in them. We ordered the $65 per person meal for our family of 4 and t was not worth the money. The amount of food was ok, but the taste was not. Would rather go to Cappola s in St. Catharines for real Italian food. This is just my opinion.
Second time at Rizzo s. Consistently the best Italian food I ve had in Ontario.
We showed up with no reservation after we discovered it on tik tok while crossing the boarder. The food and drinks were outstanding and everyone was so helpful
This is a casual Italian resto so it s kinda loud inside. Deal with it. No matter what else you order, get the vodka penne. I recommend showing up with 4+ people and ordering the Chef s Tour. Don t eat all day before you go here for dinner. Rich food, ample portions.
Best restaurant in Ridgway
Indeed, the food is outstanding, a simple looking menu with huge attention to detail and balance!! The service is outstanding, everyone is invested in ensuring a great experience, truly felt like home and comfortable. Make a reservation and enjoy this bigger than life place and its filling dishes!!
GREAT mozzarella sticks, gotta try them! OK meatballs, nothing special Chicken Parm good, largely due to the generous covering of delicious mozzarella Vodka Cream Penne looked bad but a surprise success - creamy underneath and nice crunch from the bread crumbs Service slow, but very nice and they were super busy on a Wednesday night, and apparently, understaffed We sat inside, very noisy, hard to carry on a conversation
Made a visit to Rizzos on Thursday August 15th 2024. I was able to make reservations via Open Table a couple of days before. The atmosphere was great and we both enjoyed how the restaurant is setup. We ordered calamari as a starter with chicken parm and a side of spaghetti. The food was excellent and cooked perfectly. The only complaint was that the food did take a little bit to come to the table(approx 30 mins) with no update/check in from our waitress. We will definitely be making another trip back to try other menu items in the future.
It felt like we were walking into No as newly renovated basement with a full bar. Bright atmosphere, I don t typically like louder spaces, but this one has the right amount of acoustic business that it works. The food was some of the best food I ve had in a very long time. High quality ingredients and a hell of a lot of love has been put into the sauces indeed. I can t wait to get back again. Absolutely incredible!
I have been cooking and eating this way for over 25 years now and am very surprised that this is the level of food being served here. I was expecting something more then this. Very tired and outdated plates. My good pal in Toronto has been doing it this way for longer then the owner has been alive and he did it better then Rizzos I say. The food definitely lacks imagination and flavour and the same old sauce used for the dishes is bland at best. One of the dishes tried was the antipasto plate and what a bloody joke. It was insulting to me as a cook to be presented with this dish. Clearly there was no thought or care put into it. It looked like it was just slapped down on the plate with no care to it and it was a waste of money. The prosciutto felt like it came out of a store bought package and lacked flavour. The rest was just thrown on the plate to fill it up. I have been involved in the film and tv biz serving food and catering to people and if they had any idea about what is good food this would not pass, and this food would never satisfy their silly needs. Sorry to say, but this is amateur cooking and tired. Dont waste your time on a reservation. Its just a way to get people to feel like their doing something special by securing a spot there. Seats are very uncomfortable and there is bad sound bounce. Its not like the owner is the one doing the cooking. I suspect he shows up rarely and no doubt on a Saturday or Friday when its at its busiest. My opinion is this. There are far better restaurants out there that dont have the whole TV world fueling it with some show and that actually deserve good press for their food and not made popular because of some tv show. To me it wasnt worth the money or my time to secure a spot here. Parking: If your handicap such as myself, stay clear of this place as it is not AODA compliant. I saw one handicap parking spot that is NOT to code as I could not use it with my vehicle due to it not being handicap sized. Very disappointed, but again, not surprised by this.
Picked up. All three parms were very good, bit heavy upon the breading, definitely not a light meal, but generous portions on the veal and chicken, not so generous on the eggplant but still reasonable. The burrata was a first for us and we enjoyed it. The spaghetti pomodoro sauce was exceptional, clearly fresh, just blew all of us away. Btw the spaghetti sides are pretty much a 1/2 order so several people could share a full order instead of the sides. Everything was ready on time and they appeared busy but well organized. Front staff were friendly and helpful.
We had dinner here tonight and we loved everything we ordered. We arrived well ahead of our reservation and we checked to see if they could seat us earlier. They were able to accommodate us without any issue. Our server was wonderful and made us feel welcomed. We started with an Aperol Spritz and Espresso Martini both were superb. We then ordered the mozzarella sticks that were out of this world and the focaccia. The cheese seemed of a high quality in the sticks and the focaccia had a great chew with an amazing crust. For our entrees we split the carbonara, which was super creamy and our favorite, and the bolognese had a great flavor with a lighter sauce than expected. We opted for the brownie and mint ice cream for dessert. The brownie was one of the best I ve had. We had leftovers and really want to go back to try the chef s menu. A really great place with a wonderful vibe.
Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu. Food
Have you ever been water-boarded by food? Highly recommend the chefs menu. 10/10
Shared an antipasto tray and one salad for Canada Day with two friends. The tray was amazing and the servers were happy and helpful. The patio was clean and cheerful. Glad we stopped by! Wheelchair accessibility: From the wheelchair parking to the patio, its only a few steps. My senior relative didnt really like sitting with no back on the patio table but she really enjoyed the food. Next time we will have to ask for a better chair outside or go inside. It was such a beautiful day.
Our table ordered the chefs menu and it was incredible! So much food, each plate better than the last. The marinara is some of the best I ve ever had and the service was impeccable. We will be back.
My bestie and my other friend and I decided to visit this place when we had our girls trip in Niagara Falls. It was definitely worth the drive only about a 1/2 hour from our hotel in Niagara. The only real complaints is we had to wait 20 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation and there was a fly that wouldnt leave us alone in the dining room. The food was very good! Thats what we went for obviously and we were not disappointed! We each ordered an appetizer and a main and my 2 girlfriends had a few drinks as well. We had the bruschetta calamari and the mozzarella sticks first and I ended up trying the penne alla vodka and it was super tasty! I forget the names of my friends dishes but they both ordered the same thing and said they enjoyed it. I wish this place wasnt so far from where we live which is Hamilton so the next time Im in Niagara I would love to go back and try something else off the menu. This place is super busy so I do suggest making reservations.
What an experience! From the second we walked in through dessert, we couldn t have asked for more. Nigel was remarkable and made our visit one to remember. 10/10 recommend
I would choose the chicken parm as my last meal
This is our second visit to the House of Parm - and it s definitely worth the drive from Toronto. The food is fresh and delicious: we had the mozzarella sticks (a must) the wedge salad, pappardelle, eggplant parm (so good) and the rapini. Our server Stephanie was incredible - friendly and professional - she made our dining experience a great one! Try and sit in her section!
They dont answer the phone. They dont return emails. We drove for 90 minutes because their voice message said they take walk ins. No tables for 2 hours when we arrived. Please get someone to answer your phone!
This place truly lives up to the hype. I really appreciate the thought and detail that has gone into this space as its incredibly warm and inviting. Our server Nigel was incredibly knowledgable about the menu and was able to answer various questions our party had. I think the beauty in this menu is its focus on the classics and doing them not just well but phenomenally. Favorites included the Matty Salad, the Mozzarella sticks and then the chicken parm. Delish!
Very fun venue with incredible Italian food
My partner and I went here for a birthday dinner and the food was phenomenal. We did have to wait a little bit to get seated even though we had a reservation, but it was busy. I ordered a cocktail which wasn t my favourite, not because it was poorly made but because I had never tried it but it just wasn t my personal taste. We ordered the focaccia, rigatoni carbonara, chicken parm, and tiramisu. The rigatoni and the chicken parm was delicious, as well as the tiramisu. It did have a bit to much cocoa powder on it for our liking but overall everything was amazing and our server Nigel was great :) We will be coming back!
GO TO RIZZOS! My husband and I popped in on a Friday night and were lucky to get seats at the bar. The food exceeded all expectations. The menu is simple and yet the food is beyond delicious. Everything is carefully thought out and detailed from the plating to the flavors to the service. Karina was our server and she took such great care of us. She made us feel like we were regulars. We went back the next night with friends and ordered the chefs menu. It was 3 courses and SO MUCH FOOD. We loved everything. The chefs menu is the best way to experience Rizzos! Thank you to Karina and the entire staff. We cant wait to go back !
Kid-friendliness: They had high chairs for kids and colouring pages. Food
Had an amazing dinner. Awesome bright fun atmosphere. Our server Karina was funny and very helpful and brought us a special drink on the house for my fiancees birthday as well. Definitely a 5/5 place to go.
Such a great meal last night. Katrina and Nigel were lovely hosts and treated us like part of the family. You can tell that the staff have a passion for what they serve and care about the details. They even toast their own chilli flakes!! The food was beyond expectations. We did the chefs shareable menu and needless to say we had a ton of leftovers! It was a lot of food but fun way to try a bunch of things. I still can t get over the strawberry cannolis .
We got the chefs special it was worth every Dollar. Even had leftovers!
They are able to seat us before our scheduled reservation time. We sat at the bar. We ordered the Chefs Menu which is basically a bit of everything. We started with a meatballand cheese stick each, a very large Mattys salad and homemade fococcia with olive oil and balsamic. All very large portions. Then we shared a chicken parm, a side spaghetti pomodoro, a tagliatelle bolognese and rapini. We also ordered a pappardelle alla scampi pasta on the side which was the best part of the meal in my opinion. Very rich! We finished woth a shared tiramisu. All and all everything was fantastic. The service was quick. The staff has incredible customer service. I would go back in a heart beat! They also sell shirts!
Drove 2 hours to get here as they say they take walk ins. I tried calling to confirm but they do not answer the phone at all. I arrive and they tell me to wait 2 hours for a table. That s fine. 3.5 hours later, I call them to get an update and never ended up getting a table. Insanely bad service. At least answer your phone!
We visited today and dined out on the patio for lunch. The food and service was AMAZING! We cant wait to come back.
If youre a foodie and have actually had authentic Italian food dont waste your time. Terrible.
Wow !!!! The best food around! GF availability We will be back and I can only hope we have Abby again as our server! Give that girl a raise ! Thank-you so much Alicia Premium Care auto centre
exquisite
Matty and his team don t disappoint. Everything we had was fantastic. Even the kids meal mac n cheese was out of this world. Definitely worth the trip out to try it.
Someone recommended this place as a must try if we are near the area and it did not disappoint. We were lucky to get a reservation 2 days before going for two at the bar. Had calamari, mozza sticks, and penne alla vodka (which is apparently one of the most popular dishes). It was all amazing. Staff were also super friendly and helpful. The best meal we have ever had in the Niagara area. Well definitely be going back!
Went last night and had a decent time. Place is noisy and staff a bit short when we were greeted by the hostest. Food was really good and lived up to the home made advertising. Just be aware the protein is served on its own and you have to order a side at extra charge. Food
So Ill give the food an ok, honestly nothing special... I was surprised with all the hype... the seating at the bar was horrible, and the picnic table seating was awful. Youre either stretched out or bent over. Im not impressed with that at all. Service was great... they did accommodate us from the bar to the picnic table outside. Thank God it was nice out. But I doubt well ever go back.
Amazing!!! My husband and I have been 2 times now and both times have been phenomenal. My favourite dish so far is the shrimp scampi! Highly recommend this dish it was the best thing I think Ive ever had at a restaurant. Veal Parm is also a good choice. Huge portion of meat with crispy cheese. Definitely the best Italian food youll get in this area. We sat on the patio this time so it was a cute dinner date! We will be back!
Well worth the drive from Toronto to eat here. Chicken parm and meatballs were the winners without a doubt. We were a table of 4 and opted for the chef menu; do it. Rapini was the only let down, couldn t care for it
Looked and smelled amazing. Unfortunately reservations only open 4 weeks in advance. Tried 4 months ago and got discouraged as there was no indication of this on Open Table. The polite hostess offered a seat with 90 minute wait, which didn t jibe with the kids being hungry. Very sad to miss Rizzo s on this brief visit from Alberta. 3 stars as the booking process is unclear. Hopefully this helps readers make it work to fill up the 5 star bucket.
Food was fantastic. Mozzarella sticks and the calamari was amazing. Pastas and veal parm were shared and everyone loved it. Would highly recommend this place and looking forward go trying more next time.
