Bistro de la Forge in Rimouski

Last night, I came to dinner with a friend. We got lost trying to find the entrance, but eventually found it in the middle of the front of the building. After entering, we were amazed by the beauty of the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and the waitress found a table for the two of us. There were vegetarian options for my friend. She ordered a veggie burger and I ordered 6 oysters, crostini and an Asian tuna salad. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food here, around $100 total. The meal was incredible. Best food in town I think. Honestly, I didnt like the Ruffino Pinot Grigio, but I happily drank it with the delicious food. Overall, a fantastic dinner. and our waitress was really nice. Vegetarian options: Crostini as a starter of course. For the dish, all burgers can use impossible meat.

upon arrival after asking for a table near the window, the first thing we are told, you must vacate the table by 6:30 but there are other tables free..... Then the choice of menu other than the hamburgers is not very elaborate, my partner took the shrimp rags and fried them in beer........ nothing to say about the fries! I had the elk and brie hamburgers as well as the sweet potato fries........ the hamburgers had a very small piece of brie which was on the side so not on the meat, there were mushrooms very good and the meat was a little dry, the sweet potato fries were delicious. I found it expensive for the quality and service,

There were 4 of us, we all enjoyed our meal. (2) burgers and (2) fish & chips. The home fries are excellent. The fish & chips were a little overcooked. The atmosphere is ok, nothing more. The price of drinks quite high.

Ribs, fish and chips were delicious. Choice of accompaniment is a plus Thin and crunchy sweet potato fries... well done everyone. Parking: Large parking lot in place of a destroyed building, on the waters edge a few meters from the restaurant.

Very very disappointed normally, I really like the restaurant, but tonight doesnt make me want to go back there and thats a shame. The evening started well, we received our starters which were very good then, we were asked to move our table, because a table without reservation was added and the place is already quite limited, its finding each other on the others, the customers and waiters had difficulty getting through, we were bumped into, not very pleasant. A waitress was having shots with the table in question so I guess they were friends of hers. For the main course, we waited 1 hour 30 minutes to get our plate which was very ordinary. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating, but the experience was really unpleasant and definitely not worth the final price.

I have visited this restaurant several times, and although I have never been completely satisfied, I have never been as disappointed and frustrated as I was this evening. As soon as we arrived, the room was so crowded that it was difficult to move around. After 30 minutes of waiting, our starter finally arrived only to be asked to move because a table of the waitresss friends had been added (she even took shots with them, lovely! ). The problem was that when they moved our table, they pushed us against the wall, so tight that I literally had people in my face. The pinnacle? I even had to direct people to the toilet. In terms of atmosphere, it was anything but pleasant. Loud music as if we were in a nightclub, and a flashing light (a sign that it needs to be changed)... nice for a relaxed dinner with friends. Not to mention the endless wait (1 hour between the starter and the main course). My burger finally arrived, accompanied by onion rings. Total disappointment: the meatball was tiny and tasteless. As for my friend, she ordered cheese sticks and a flamigo-style chicken (strip) burger that had clearly been taken out of the freezer. It looked like low-end fast food. All for a total of $76, just for an appetizer, a burger, slices and a drink. And to top it all off, we are offered tips of 15%, 18%, or 20%... seriously? In short, it was an unpleasant evening and clearly not worth the price. This restaurant has just lost loyal customers.

Excellent beer-battered potatoes accompanied by a tab. I recommend it and will return to these places during our next visit

Maison du Spaghetti: By far, the best GLUTEN-FREE pizza dough I have eaten in my entire life! We fell in love with the Matane shrimp Alfredo (without flour), a crazy delight! La Maison du Spaghetti and La Vieille Forge are among the best restaurants in the region, without any hesitation! Dietary restrictions: This restaurant is gluten-free and safe! They are sensitive and very honest about it. You can eat in peace :)

Nice wine list. Lots of private imports. Interesting cocktail selection, but not a great selection of microbrewery beers. We drank a glass of red wine from Médoc (2014), a glass of white wine from Venetie, an espresso martini and a cocktail made with vodka, basil and lime. We didnt eat there, but the food looked good. We had a nice romantic 5 to 7 at one of the rare places open on Sundays in Rimouski!

Very nice experience, neighborhood bistro atmosphere with attentive staff, especially Thierry! Plus, the ketchup from the ketchup mine...is a revelation. Whether youre from the region or passing through, its a must!

The food was great. I had a tuna tartare as a starter. I like it when its quite spicy and this was the case. The others who were with me ate burgers with delicious homemade fries . Good service. Good atmosphere. Parking: The free customer parking lot was full, but it is still easy to park a block or two away with the parking meters.

Very friendly atmosphere and excellent service for decent burgers but much too expensive value for money. The ingredients were fresh but the end result lacked punch. In the end we paid $50 each for a pint and a decent burger but nothing more. I also want to remind you that the service was really excellent, thanks to the two employees who managed the packed restaurant while keeping a smile.

Beautiful evening. The server Thierry was attentive. Beautiful presentation for the food. The only downside was that I found the steak a little too salty, but still very good. I shared this with the team and they were receptive to my comment. I noticed a nice working atmosphere between the employees. They showed mutual respect. These little details did not go unnoticed by me!

The restaurant being very well rated, I expected better. The hamburger I chose was good, nothing more. The meat being perhaps dry, and the other tastes discreet, it was a mid-range burger. Nice choice of menu and nice atmosphere however, good for an evening with friends

Horror story. For my friends party, we made a reservation for 4. When we arrived there, we were told that there was no more room even though we had reserved and that they were going to call us back. late when he had room. We got called an hour and a half later and when we got there, it was finally sold out for the evening. We returned the next day, our black-haired waitress was under the influence of alcohol (because we saw her having drinks at the bar) and took absolutely no care of us. The worst thing about it was that when it came time to pay and my partner tipped 12%, this same waitress started to insult him and raised her voice because he hadnt tipped her more for its poor service. I am very disappointed with the service and unfortunately I will not recommend this place.

While passing through the region, we discovered this bistro, the lobster and shrimp roll as well as the fromage blanc cake were excellent. We had a very pleasant time there, largely thanks to Manus advice and good humor, as well as his playlist. We will come back to it...

Varied Hamburger menu offering something other than fries on the side which is already very good! Nice setting, the young woman who served us was very pleasant and very competent! The Quebec lamb hamburger with goat cheese is excellent!

The menu looks really good. However, we were unable to enter because our group of 10 seemed much too difficult for the people there to manage... We were therefore redirected to another restaurant in the same building. Finally, we ended up on a *terrace* with a more than reduced menu. In addition, our order was not placed on time... Half of the group left when we received our dishes... We had 2 different waitresses for the same group... Well then it seems that the 2 or 3 restaurants in this building are not recommended for groups of 10 or more... The food on the *terrace* was, however, plentiful, but very good. Especially the fries.

Poorly organized, mixed with the purchase of their food truck. Outside on the terrace. So no access to the usual menu. The waitress didnt give us the right information and the food was overcooked. However. Beautiful layout for children outside during activities.

Big disappointment. Disappointing mussels and fries and the vegetarian burger came without any mayonnaise or accompaniments. Similar to cafeteria food. The most expensive meal of the stay in Rimouski AND the most disappointing. And the service did not redeem the experience.

The service is excessively long at the spaghetti house, 55 minutes to get our meal after ordering. The food preparation was sloppy and very ordinary in taste. We will not return there.

Intimate atmosphere, great for a dinner for two or a reunion with friends! I had the tuna tartare, I loved it! With a slight kick of wasabi it s really a must to try!! My boyfriend had the blue and apple burger and wowwww what a lovely hearty plate! This is my stop in Rimouski, I love it!

Its good, not refined, but hey, its a bistro, a bit small, should have a terrace. We eat too much. We could drink better.

When I called to complain, the lady on the phone told me, well, its just a small mistake, as if it were a trivial and usual error. Shes never had food poisoning, thats for sure. I do not recommend this restaurant. Caviat Emptor!
