121 Rue St Germain O, Rimouski, QC G5L 4B6, Canada
Great to finally find a restaurant serving espresso coffee after eight weeks. Great menu and service. Our server had been to Australia earlier this year. Very popular with locals.
Have google translate ready if you can't speak french. The service staffs are extremely patient and always service you with a smile. Food is good and fresh!
Ive never seen a more sad amount of potatoes in any breakfast restaurant before. They get it frozen too so i don't understand the poor amount for the price.
They understood my français. They deserve nothing less than 5 stars.
Very nice variety. Friendly staff even with language barrier.
Great food and good services. The staffs are friendly.
Service was decent, we were ignored for a while at first but I guess they were quite busy. Food was quite nice - I didn’t receive an item on my order and had to ask for it to be removed from the bill at the end. In a weird way I’m glad I went to eat here but will not be returning. I give it a gentleman’s 3
Ageist servers, terrible coffee, big slices of bread. Went here on a whim for coffee and milkshakes but got pressured into eating real food. After first sip of coffee we immediately realized this was drastic mistake. Even the smell was a complete turn off. They surely dumped an ashtray into every pot. The cappuccino however was sufficient in flavour. When the yogurt parfait was revealed, it was accompanied by two humongous Jesus sized pieces of Sahara like bread. However much to our relief upon the unfolding of the slabs of bread, we discovered it was buttered. Much to our satisfaction, it tasted heavenly. Especially with the classist strawberry jam. It almost outweighed the terrible coffee. Onto the decadent strawberry granola parfait. It was good. Was delightfully accompanied by a melody of exquisite fruit including a slice of orange, some lovely red grapes, one strawberry, a dry slice of watermelon, half a hearty banana and a delightful dollop of blueberries sprinkled into a pocket on the plate. Ambiance was neutrally bad, full of elderly lonely crossword puzzle solving Francophones. Were judged throughout our entire delightful meal. Will not be returning soon.
Beautiful very European atmosphere to see
We had lunch in this little roquet, very nice, inexpensive and very good I recommend
Excellent on everything...1 the service and 1 also the meals...
Despite the fact that my frappuccino was not made, what is striking about this restaurant is the friendly staff. This same staff, who strikes straight to the heart, was able to move us by letting us know that no matter what time we knock on the door, they will open it for us. Many thanks Café des halles and particularly Céline C.
Friendly atmosphere and service, however the eggs were overcooked and the onions too raw in the vegetarian casserole. My friend had the ham salad and the food quality was disappointing.
This was one of our favorite lunches. But recently, like several restaurants that seem to have been bought by the same people, the quality, quantity and service have taken a serious hit. Burning omelette, ridiculous quatite of potatoes, eggshell in our eggs and too long wait for eggs and bacon (45 min. and more). I would like to blame it on bad luck or bad day but the same scenario repeats itself in places belonging to the same people who I dont know but who seem to have the knack of giving as little as possible to their customers. At least the young waitress was smiling and courteous when we told her about our problems.
For a 1st visit, I have nothing negative to say, besides the lack of ice on this stifling day, but seems that the machine was broken. The daily menu was very attractive and reasonably priced. I ate a salmon pâté, egg sauce and salad. The portion of pâté was very generous, just the way we like it. The waitress was friendly, smiling and her service was excellent. During a future visit to Rimouski, I will have Le Café des halles in mind. Its the kind of place you sometimes look for, when you need to eat quickly, but without eating fast food. 9/10 (-1 point for the ice cream and thats it)
Super nice restaurant.. Beautiful decor.. exceptional service.. Recommended +++.. We returned at the beginning of 2024.. my father-in-laws birthday.. Again the food is superb.. they expanded and added in fireplace. . really NICE
Stop to buy coffee.... excellent coffee
Exceptional service
Good little local breakfast restaurant with reasonable prices
Always a delight to go for breakfast
There were 5 of us who took the same thing, gourmet plates with vegetables, vegetables were uncooked, 5 small potatoes, very little sauce and cold, the price could be very very disappointed
Delicious and good services
Excellent sausages
Super friendly and friendly place and what can I say about the food, it is delicious!!!
Too bad there is still a smell of varnish in the canopy.
Simple, quick and effective. The service is super pleasant and done with a smile. The plates are generous and everyone can find something
Way too expensive for the quantity and quality. First and last time I go to this restaurant.
Impeccable and personalized service! Excellent food, you have to try the big household bread! Thank you, we highly recommend.
Beautiful menu and very nice atmosphere
Menoum menoum les grosses toasts
Excellent and very good price! But you have to try their household bread! 1 inch thick, soft as can be!
We have known the place for several years. Big disappointment on our last visit. Excessively long, 50 minutes to be served, ordinary and incomplete plate (and cold) as mentioned on the menu.. Shortage of staff? So does a piece of toast take 15 minutes to make? Situation to be quickly corrected.
Cozy and charming
Eggs Benedict very good, Gourmet omelette with very good meat and breakfast of eggs, sausages, potatoes, good bread The small homemade potatoes were not very good. We informed the waitress who went to see if there was a problem in the kitchen. Indeed after tasting, she told us that they were bitter probably because of the variety of potatoes. It was noisy. Good coffee. Excellent homemade jam. Plate not sufficient enough for my taste.
Perfect!
I really liked the eggs benedict with ham. Very fast service and beautiful atmosphere with the fireplace!
Very good service.
Excellent service at an affordable price
Very nice personal atmosphere, very smiling, good meal
A long time ago, when I lived in Rimouski, the Café des Halles was the place to go for a good coffee or a bite to eat with friends. the place is no longer what it used to be. I experienced great disappointment during my last visit last summer with my children and my in-laws, both in terms of the service, the quality of the meal and the price we paid. Unfortunately, I dont think I will return to Café des Halles.
We took the trouble to place a reservation (validated and confirmed over the phone by a young lady). Arriving there at the agreed time, we were told cavalierly by who seemed to be the manager/boss that there was no place for us and that we had to wait for a table to become available...! Whats the point of taking reservations then?
Always excellent
Impeccable service, smile and welcoming, hot and delicious dish
Warm welcome and very good lunch with household bread.
Very good
I had brunch at the Café des Halles and it was a very good choice. Were not talking about gourmet cuisine, but the breakfast is very good and complete. Free coffee served with it. Incredible value for money ($22 for 2) hence the best possible rating of 5 stars. The service is also impeccable and super pleasant, thank you very much for the welcome.
Best breakfast around! The household bread is incredible and huge. It s fresh from the bakery on the other side of the restaurant. The jams are homemade and they are delicious and not overly sweet. Very generous and not expensive at all. The service is perfect. We went back the next day and the waitress recognized us. A warm welcome and impeccable service.
Very good service. Various choices on the menu adapted to taste. Average traffic. For my next lunch/brunch, this is where Im going back for sure Parking: Parking available in the halls parking lot
The olives are super good
Good food, friendly service
Good service
Always a very good lunch
Excellent service and very good meal
I love this restaurant
Very disappointing. For a restaurant called le Café des Halles, the coffee is more than ordinary (your first sip convinces you not to have a second one). To quote my boyfriend, it tastes like an old, unwashed coffee machine... The portions are not very generous (if your lunch costs you $10 you can expect to have $3 worth on your plate) and the quality of the ingredients is frankly disappointing (the meals at the Rimouski hospital are more interesting in my experience). My panini consisted of instant pizza sauce, pieces of raw (and cold) tomatoes and onions, grated cheese that wasnt even melted, and barely toasted bread. When I said it wasnt cooked they brought it back to me hot, fresh out of the microwave. So those who like crispy grilled sandwiches I recommend Brûlerie d ici which is right next door and also has a beautiful terrace (and great coffee).
Excellent place to go eat!
Very good
Super good as always the bread pudding is the best
Super good and exceptional service!!
Very good food, courteous service
I like this restaurant when I come to Rimouski. Good food and good portion. Excellent.
Friendly staff, lunch was very good.
The staff is welcoming and the prices very affordable.
The coffee is tasteless, my dish water is literally more interesting than the coffee served at this restaurant. I enjoy eating at the hospital more than at this restaurant. My omelette was burnt and tasteless, wasted on my plate to get rid of and was more expensive than other restaurants in the city center. Seriously I enjoy eating more in the hospital or at home and thats what Im going to do next time.
Super tasty Treats
Very good and nice!
Good lunch nice place
Small, unpretentious café restaurant, pleasant atmosphere in the greenhouse, the coffee is good but you have to have the Americano. I recommend the big toasts with HOMEMADE cretons, a treat. The thin pizzas are good. The atmosphere is good (better than at La Brulerie in any case).
The bread pudding is to die for! I also recommend the house blend green tea, it s delicious!
Warm
Very good good service
Always personalized service.
I am publishing this photo, it is June 19th. I have been eating mayonnaise for almost 2 months. I wanted to discreetly talk to the waitress about it and she replied: well, did you taste good?..... No sorry, no same thing from the manager, Im 5 months pregnant. If products with dates are forgotten for 2 months and served to customers, this makes me doubt the quality of food in general. When its time to pay I have to pay my bill I ask the manager if she has at least thrown away the mayonnaise she says to me: Why? I answer: well, it doesnt make sense to serve that to the world. To which she doesnt respond and simply hands me the interact machine.
Its a cafe with very good service and very good food
The service!!!
Great service
Very nice place. Lack of parking.
No service! When I came to pay, the owner at the cash register left me waiting to go chat with customers at a table. Quite ordinary..
Good popular table.
Excellent services and I love lunch there
Great place for family lunch
Beautiful place.
Nice place. Interesting products.
Alright
Peaceful place and very good service.
Welcoming and friendly for a meeting of two or a group, perfect place for reunions with friends. Fast and personal service with customer care.
A bit cramped place, but still pleasant. (During rush hours, it s quite noisy) The setting is also warm. The staff is friendly. However, I have been going there from time to time for breakfast for two years now, and I find that the quality is less and less present. Very simple requests such as the type of cooking of eggs or not to serve peppers in dishes are not respected (far too often). Its a shame, really. The desire to come there to enjoy their good homemade bread, their generous dishes and the few meat-free dishes that you can order is dwindling... To try why not, but a loyalty to this place which is inevitably approaches zero. Effort would be required.
Very good!
Cheers!
Very good
nice place good very good coffee
Very slow and still courteous service. Limited choice of fruit...
Eating well is ok
Endless wait for Telus 2019 holidays; 1h30-2h00 wait for eggs and bacon that wasnt even hot!
I recommend the marshmallow hot chocolate, delicious
5 star service!!! And the food is excellent
OK, sometimes the service lacks professionalism but nice atmosphere and the food is good.
Very good lunch. Good service.
Very good service and very good bread pudding Thank you
Very nice place!!!
Very good service and very good lunches thank you
Very welcoming staff, impeccable cleanliness. Menu for all tastes and all budgets.
Very good. Small space we are sometimes tight. Recommended lunches and their fries are excellent
Its good
Warm, beautiful glass roof and terrace. Delicious lunch and dinner
Always good and good service
Excellent service. Very good food. Nice place. Easy to access.
