Central Cafe in Rimouski

There were 22 for dinner, 22 very satisfied people, very good service.

Excellent destination on all levels and, whats more, its a co-op.

This is the 2nd time Ive been to Central Café. The first time was a few years ago. It s still so beautiful and welcoming. The service was efficient AND with a great smile. There are a few local beers (Les Fous Brassants, LOctant and Le Ketch), which are very popular. For the meal, I had a small deluxe smoked meat with whole grain mustard. All accompanied by their good homemade fries sprinkled with parmesan. A delight! I gave one star less for the kitchen because the bun on the bottom of my smoked meat was very wet.

Great cafe with a great atmosphere

Very ordinary food for the price. My burger with fries was worth at most $15, not $24, and thats without counting the tip...

Long live good pasta! And also good company of course.......

As you know I have a sweeter tooth than the average bear and this time I tried the Central Café. Aside from the difficulty of finding parking, it is a must in Rimouski. And if youre wondering why the parking lot is full, its probably because its really good. Good dinner.

Beautiful atmosphere with superb character. Warm welcome and good service. I ate the chicken brocolipesto penne dish and it was delicious! Excellent portion, the sauce creamy and in more than sufficient quantity. In short, I really enjoyed my experience!

Very pleasant place, courteous service and pleasant food, as always. We will continue to stop there. Each of the five guests was satisfied, at lunchtime and in the evening. We didnt try the onion rings but the fried squid is clearly made on site and pleasant, the same goes for the pizzas and bruschetta. The decoration centered on birds is also admirable and warm. The prices are very affordable, with the certainty of supporting an employee cooperative as well!

Were all ok as far as food goes. Location and service were very good. The fried squid was good, the salmon naan too. Disappointed with the pizza...it is, in my opinion, not the best pizza sauce. But I want to be clear, its a matter of taste!

While passing through Rimouski, our host recommended this establishment to us. We were very well received in a very pretty cocooning setting decorated with nest boxes!! On the other hand, the service is very very very long, we waited 1 hour 15 minutes before having dinner. Correct meal

Coming from France and restaurateurs, we were amazed by the setting, the atmosphere and above all the quality of the service with a very young waitress who was adorable and very involved in her work. The dishes were also very nice. In short, we had a great time. Well done !

I loved the dish we ate! Excellent quality regarding the menu. I was surprised by the cheese croquettes with the almond breading, it was SO good!! The service was relatively slow though, but the person serving seemed lonely and it was a busy evening. Maybe hire more staff? Otherwise, the person was smiling and calm despite her situation, she did her best! The atmosphere was very good, but it was noisy. People were talking very loudly and I would have preferred to have a table in a quieter corner. I found my cozy little café for fall and winter, that s for sure!!

The food was good and they were lovely enough to find us a seat even though we hadnt booked and the cafe was packed with people but the coffee unfortunately wasnt to my taste... It was burnt and we Served me a latte rather than a flatwhite Disappointed.

Dinner at one of my old favorites for the restaurant in Rimouski, at the central café. Take a timeless chicken burger and an unfortunate mistake has occurred, they bring me a burger with the ingredients as sautéed additions (mushroom, onion, hot pepper) but improbable addition in my burger, curry. I mention it to the waitress who asked the kitchen and they tell me that I imagine the curry in my burger, that the chicken tastes like curry sometimes in a burger and that I imagine the taste. Being called a liar in my old favorite restaurant in Rimouski is unacceptable and a shame. Clearly the customer service was lacking, my partner and my children recognized the curry in my burger. None of their burgers on the menu include curry and the waitress even confirmed.... It was unfortunately the last time, the management has changed, the rigor and the quality too. Its sad for an institution like Central which had won my heart in the past. A wedding anniversary that fell through in my case. I no longer recommend it.

Nous n avons malheureusement pas aimé ce restaurant et n y retournerons pas. Nous avons été très déçus par la nourriture qui n était vraiment pas goûteuse (burger au boeuf sec et sans goût, saumon bien cuit, mais l assaisonnement était déçevant). Le service et l ambiance étaient corrects. Nous ne conseillons pas le Central Café lors de votre visite à Rimouski.

We wont go back there. Retirees, this place is not for you in my opinion. We are a couple in their sixties and I find it hard to believe that it is a coincidence that the sixty-year-olds (and older) found themselves at the back of the restaurant, a place which really does not have the character of the front part of the restaurant. building or mezzanine. People with children also found themselves in this rear part. Its our first evening in Rimouski, I hope its not the kind of coincidence that well see repeated in several places. Pleasant setting, decor made up of shelters and photos of birds, dishes offered: pizza, pasta, salads, fish and chips, but also other interesting dishes. There is a certain apathy in the service which means that we waited for everything, the welcome glass of water, the beer for the aperitif and the main course. If we had ordered dessert, we would still be there!

The place is full of birdhouses but they dont serve seed dishes, I guarantee that. The parmesan fries are a must try if you like fries and parmesan.
