129 Rue du Mont St Louis, Rimouski, QC G0L 1B0, Canada
Quaint, seasonal eatery featuring regional dishes made with local products & sommelier service.
Supremely disappointing. Drove 5 hours to dine here on the basis of the Food and Wine article. From the indifferent service to the erratically seasoned and belabored food - it was painful to spend 4.5 hours at the restaurant. Would like to suggest the chef spend more time in the kitchen and less grandstanding with a microphone. It was rather angering to spend nearly $500 for such a galling meal
Best culinary experience I have ever had. Do yourself a favour and get the drinks pairing with your menu. Definitely worth every single dollar. The fresh local ingredients, the service, the ambiance, everything is simply perfect.
I ordered a "Turbot 101" at the cantine. The small half filet of turbot tasted fresh and delicious, but the sides were very Cucumber-heavy... a whole deep fried cucumber, AND a cucumber salad. Je me suis trouvé pas mal concombre d'avoir payer 35$ pour ça.
Nice “Cantine” menu, but no gluten free options or alternatives at all. In response to my incomprehension, the employee said that the “cantine” was open just for a short period of time and that the goal was to make as much money as possible”. Cheap shot…. It’s 2021, you guys need to catch up and have more consideration!
Amazing evening in the church parking lot in front of Colombe's restaurant. Because of COVID, dining room not open but instead an innovative outdoor coastal market. We had tons of oysters with a creative emulsion. Proposed wine was also a hit. All and all a memorable moment!
Delicious, quality food. Best shrimp roll I’ve ever eaten. Bread was just really soggy, that was the only downside.
One of the best restaurants in North America! Colombe os the best! Ingrédients are so valorised and respected. It's heaven on hearth! Worth the travel all the way from Montreal! 6 hours! Will be back for sure! Colombe is an inspiration for all women and men chefs in the world!
Obtained a reservation after I called in last minute. Staff was amazing. Food even better. Great wine pairing. Will definitely come back next time in the region. Hats off to the Chef Colombe and her team
Exceptional dining experience. A jovial team that doesnt seem to be working but having fun. Discovering local products whose multiple possibilities we were unaware of was a unique moment for us. I would go back without hesitation! THANKS!
Everything is perfect! EXCEPTIONAL food! The service is incredible. Great atmosphere! A big thank you to Colombe and his entire team!
Uneven. We had booked months in advance with a lot of waiting. Once there, small table in the restaurant near the kitchen. Everyone eats the same thing, which is a good idea to optimize work. The service is efficient despite the fact that the restaurant is full. At this price I expect no errors, but it looks like I was experimenting with the recipes. The zucchini flower appetizers were light, not greasy, the fake mustard caviar with squid ink was brilliant. Next, the Asian inspired tuna was good, but not wow, too many elements for nothing and very large portion. The risotto was only in appearance. Very pretty and surprising in its presentation, but just a tasteless green juice with a brunoise of raw kohlrabi. The latter would have had an interest in being cleared. The pasta dish was the worst of the evening, a rather flat presentation, a lacto-fermented tomato sauce so acidic, that even the creamy cheese of the stuffing could not balance. The chicken with morels and yellow wine was the highlight of the evening, served in a salt crust for all the guests, a very good mastery of cooking and taste, well done! Huge portion. We tried every other dessert because we were no longer hungry. The chocolate ganache was sublime, velvet expertly executed. The atmosphere was very noisy and had the feel of a New Years party at the end of the evening. It was a good idea to explain the dishes and the origin of the products, but perhaps not to bring out the glasses, wigs, progressive jazz pianist, shooters, champagne...it was confusing. Im happy to have been there, but I dont think Ill go back.
Rather disappointed with my experience. +/- successful atmosphere, concept where the chef explains the menu in the middle of the restaurant with a microphone. Not very personalized, forgot to talk to us between services, a bit chaotic. The dishes are good, but not an out-of-the-ordinary dining experience. The price, however, is $1116 for 3 people for the food and wine pairing. Not very attentive service, I asked for a latte at the end of the evening and was told that their machine was closed, so she offered me a filter coffee coffee that I never received because the staff was busy taking shots at the bar at the end of the shift (and we were no longer the last customers in the restaurant, it was 11 p.m.). They didnt bother to ask us what our experience was like, they werent interested. I left bitter with the impression of having been cheated. It s sad I think, it was a matter of local pride which unfortunately fell victim to its reputation and they inflated the prices unreasonably. I will unfortunately not go back there.
The fries were good, the rest of my lobster roll, really not impressive especially for the price. Its not vegetables (???) that I want but lobsters on a roll and the poutine looks really good.
Dinner at St-Pierre s was a very pleasant and very disconcerting experience! The chef was able to take us elsewhere, highlight local products, raise awareness about food waste and share her professional journey. Quebec products were in the spotlight: the superb Bine with balsam fir emulsion, the compostable risotto with a beautiful chlorophyll color, the well-flambéed blood dessert, wow what a delight! Furthermore, no Canadian wine or Quebec cider appeared on the wine list, only wines from abroad. However, with global warming, Western Canada and even certain Quebec vineyards are producing excellent products! And if your health does not allow you to take alcohol, no alternative was suggested. Despite this downside, if we have the opportunity, we will probably return. Good continuity.
What an incredible evening ! Chef-gastronomy-services-ambience where the taste buds are truly exploited with local Qc products where the presentation of the dishes, the description of the foods, the creativity and the composition of these amazes, the energy deployed to harmonize and us introducing people to regional products fuels curiosity, the colorful dishes, the textures, the presentation Harmony of the wine pairing is offered in 3 or 5 glasses. It s still a good stretch of road, a trip from Mtl that s worth the trip. Essential to plan a $$$$ budget to appreciate the offer. Generosity of Colombe, accessibility. It s really I recommend!
Red salmon on fennel, tomato paste, imperial roll and Micro Dove.
An unforgettable night! It s difficult to name a favorite dish because they were all divine! And above all the warm and fun atmosphere, it feels like a big family dinner in a chalet. I have eaten at several fine dining restaurants and really found this one unique!
An experience in itself. Madame Saint-Pierre must inspire a whole new generation of chefs.
We had the chance on May 24 to go to Chez St-Pierre. What happiness, WOW!!! Let us hope that Madame St-Pierre will offer us the same experience for the 2025 season. We wish him the best in all his projects.
Magnificent experience at Saint-Pierre! The quality of the dishes, the multitude of flavors, the originality and creativity behind each service was astounding! The food and wine pairings were more than successful, the rhubarb spritz was a real delight! Special mentions to the redfish in escabeche, to the halibut dish in all its work with its corn puree, its chanterelles, trumpets of death, etc, etc. Definitely our favorite dish of the evening!
Fabulous canteen!
Big disappointment. Perhaps we should prefer the canteen? While the restaurant was not yet full, after inviting us to sit at a table of four people and promising us that the missing chair for the fifth guest would arrive quickly, they seemed to have forgotten us. The deafening music made us change our minds after a quarter of an hour of waiting on our feet. The more than excellent ones convinced us to take everything to go. Problem, for $40 per person before taxes and service, the portions were very modest. As modest as in the inn at the citys gourmet restaurant where the prices were notably lower. A small salad mixing fresh/crunchy cucumbers and pickles wasted because the brine from the pickles had soaked into the rest creating an indistinguishable whole. Only the focaccia portions were substantial (three pieces per person), but at $40 for three pieces of bread and a small salad, it just doesnt seem worth it.
Regional products. Innovative and tasty cuisine.
I ordered a large fries with ketchup. The total was $17.25. Its laughing at people charging this price. Inflation is not 500%, a bag of potatoes costs $4.
A place of delight for a gourmand
Sublime meal
We took a detour to return a second time the same week. Delicious!
High-end street canteen. Delicious shrimp roll.
The food was very good and the servers were excellent! However, when it was time to pay, I informed the manager that I received a gift card, but that I no longer have the card number in question. He replies, in a nonchalant and haughty manner, that he takes the card number, although he also keeps the dates of purchase and the amounts of the gift cards sold. I told him that I had in my possession the bank statement showing the exact date of purchase of said card, the amount and the name of the buyer. He tells me that he has too many active cards and that nothing is possible. Of course, we suspect that with the closure of the restaurant during the pandemic, there must not have been such a large number of cards sold since the purchase of our card (November 2019) while the restaurant has reopened only 5 days ago.. Indeed, the pandemic delayed our visit to the restaurant. That being said, the lack of collaboration from the said manager and his attitude were more than disappointing and tarnished our experience.
A treat from every point of view. Haute gastronomy in a relaxed atmosphere. With the festive presence of Colombe St-pierre.
Dont be fooled by the opening hours of the canteen. According to Google it was supposed to be open today, Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Its not open!!! I showed up at the restaurant and got a sorry we haven t updated our opening hours response. How do I know its not up to date? Little advice, call dont trust the information given. So disappointed It was a favorite last year so if its open, youre in for a treat.
Great, excellent food
Coastal canteen: Disappointing experience, Provençal poutine and very ordinary turbot. The portions are huge, its a waste. The slushies are also ordinary at best. We were advised an extra fries even though it was not necessary with these portions. In short, the quality/price ratio is really not there - To be avoided.
Our visit to the coastal canteen was very disappointing. At first we were confused to see no chairs set up near the tables, a bit of a shame for a $90 experience. We are always willing to pay for good food, especially to encourage local restaurateurs, but having to pay extra for mayonnaise to go with fries (which dont come with any accompaniments) is a bit insulting. If youre curious to taste the menu, it might be interesting, but for the overall experience, I dont recommend.
Very disappointed! We were excited to eat here but 7:20 p.m. (on a Thursday in the middle of July) seemed too late to order when the opening hours said until 10 p.m. So we werent able to eat there
We havent tried the restaurant yet but we stopped at the coastal canteen. Its an interesting concept that allows you to try excellent dishes quickly without having to set aside a few hours of an evening to go to a restaurant. The ingredients were fresh and local, the dishes were out of the ordinary and the portions were generous. It is obvious that you should expect to pay more since fresh, quality ingredients as well as know-how are not free. My only regret is not having taken advantage of it earlier in the summer. We will definitely try the restaurant when it reopens.
We went to the canteen, what a great culinary experience! A must!!!
Succulent! Nice atmosphere :)
I was excited to go to Chez Saint-Pierre, but was greatly disappointed that the unique menu did not have a vegetarian alternative. Yes, its a local produce restaurant and in this region there is a lot of seafood but an alternative with less service and more vegetables could have been offered, but this was not the case. However, this is what another restaurant in Rimouski did, which also had a menu only. Its not very 2022 not to offer an alternative. We fell back on the canteen where there was a vegetarian dish; three ultra-salty tempeth croquettes with a ton of poorly cut salad with no other vegetables. I also tried another dish which was ok but nothing more. Really overpriced for what it is and portions too big. In my opinion, there remains some refinement for the canteen and flexibility for the restaurant.
On August 1st under a radiant 27 degree sun, there were 4 of us to finally go to the canteen, an experience which was disappointing!! 65 minutes of waiting to receive our dishes, cold fries, lukewarm chicken, hamburger meat not well cooked, on the other hand the poutine was excellent. However, no umbrella, eating standing up and the unacceptable toilet, a chemical toilet dating from the war, no paper and completely filled with...really disgusting. This was the only option because they locked the restaurant door after a few customers went there. $75 per couple more concept to be corrected
Everyone really enjoyed their dish, it was very well done. The prices are a little high but we were still happy to have had the experience.
It has to last over time. That we can repeat this unique experience. We made more than 150kl just to have the chance to taste Saint-Pierre. Well done
Meal taken in the canteen, really excellent shrimp roll (the term roll doesnt really do justice to the dish). On the other hand, I understand the current context but for the price, I would have liked to have maybe one or two fries with...
While passing through Rimouski, we wanted to visit the coastal canteen and, frankly, we were delighted! We got our moneys worth with this delicious meal. Since we wanted to taste at least two dishes, we shared the shrimp roll and the turbot. These were two ideal dishes to share and absolutely delicious! Don t miss the adult slushy topped with Saint-Laurent gin A treat!
We were very disappointed with the canteen. Maybe we have too high expectations given the chef-owner?! To give an example We would have liked to take advantage of the quality of the ingredients in our poutine. Unfortunately, everything was placed haphazardly in the box, in an incredible pile of ingredients of all kinds. The flavors were too disparate and lacked harmony and research. The quality was unfortunately not there compared to the price (we paid almost $50 per person).
A great gastronomic experience and adventure. Sophisticated and authentic dishes. You have to plan a good budget for the wines...An excellent restaurant that is worth the detour.
Parking: Situé sur le parking de léglise donc suffisamment de place.
We visited the canteen at the end of the day. Interesting choice and good portions. Check closing times before stopping by.
Frankly disappointed. The menu and the concept are attractive but the creation of the menu is flawed. After a long wait we realized that everything had been overcooked or burned. The burguer was not edible, the meat was too dry and tough with a lot of sauce. The fleurant was mashed in the zucchini and fried to black coal in the Poutine. What a shame
Mine! more la guédille and la poutine
Thanks to Colombe and his entire team for this unique and tasty culinary experience.
I didnt dine at the restaurant, but at the Cantine cotière. The halibut fish and chips were cooked to perfection.
Very good food, good service.
Good portions especially the shrimp roll. Nice mix of savers. Tasty.
Very good but service a bit long, we ate at snack bar
Restaurant at St-Pierre: A hearty culinary journey that introduces you to flavors. The dynamic and welcoming chef in the room for explanations makes the experience human. Local products exploited to the maximum. Huge work, well done to the whole team. We traveled to Montreal and we are happy to see the gastronomic vitality in the region!
We were lucky enough to have a table in September at St-Pierre, with their new formula of only one table per evening and quite simply WOW. I loved eating a 5-star menu in a relaxed atmosphere. The service was A1, we loved the small presentations of the dishes. Nice selection of alcohol-free, we dont feel excluded from the gang and we dont sense judgment from the sommelier as often happens in other places. We ate like kings. Each service was exquisite, original, with a generous portion! We really had a wonderful evening! we will definitely come back!
Extraordinary gastronomic experience
Exceptional cuisine, unique in Quebec. If you are a tourist and want to discover the flavors of the Saint-Laurent, no one, really no one knows how to highlight them like Colombe. Im from Quebec and I dream of being able to return to Rimouski to immerse myself in this unique world of flavors.
I have been a regular customer of this place for a long, long time! A time when it was not necessary to book to go there! My rating has always been 5/5. Today I have to give it a 3/5. Questionable value for money. An incentive to take the wine pairings questionable. My last meal was very very average for certain items on the menu. A regional ham dish that I would describe as very, very average and a celery risotto that seemed closer to a poorly spiced soup than an original veggie risotto contributed to the rating I give today. My hope is that this last experience is just an accident .
Succulent, and picnic tables right in front of the river with magnificent access to the waters edge.
Delicious despite the high price.
Best poutine Ive ever eaten yum yum.
Great cuisine, you absolutely have to make a detour there, even if its on your way.
Simply perfect!
We went to the snack bar at Saint-Pierre. Very good but not exceptional. Really huge portions, we had to throw away half of them.
Coastal Canteen; in the best meals Ive eaten this year. An exceptional dining experience, the gin slushies are a MUST.
A must-see in Bas-St-Laurent. Definitely worth the detour.
So expensive for a hot dog. The super hard sausage. Black bread tastes nothing. Add a little less shrimp and lower the price. Average bills are more than $100 for a sandwich and hot dog at an outdoor canteen where you eat standing up and no service included, garbage collection, not even a busboy. Didnt expect that. The restaurant is closed for 2021.
Really wow! A new and very pleasant way of seeing the guedille,
Poutine and a club and I had to mortgage my house. Canteen! Normally it sounds affordable! But its good!
A must-try absolutely!!! Tasty and good quantity for gourmet...
Very expensive price for the quantity Very good, but too expensive for what it is
Superb menu at a fair price
Very nice presentation but disappointing! Very ordinary shrimp roll for the price
Very good, very friendly, but very expensive.
How beautiful and how good it is! The choice of wine and the welcome of the employees were all perfect
Too expensive for 2 poutine $47 The potatoes were not cooked enough but the taste was good, the sauce was very good. Putting this in every dish is a waste of cost and the cheese was cold and hard. So!
Too expensive for the quality and quantity
Excellent taste creation! To be recommended! The Nordic roll (in an ink-black bread already tasted at the restaurant, two years ago) was succulent. The fries with mayo were delicious.
Excellent
The dining room being closed, an outdoor canteen is installed, superb service in the canteen from start to finish. The welcome for the oyster and wine tasting a little less unfortunately. The price for a poutine and gedille and dessert 95.43 but worth the price, the taste and the presentation faithful to its reputation. Worth the detour.
Stunning ! It was excellent. Beautiful atmosphere, amazing food and very fresh food! The Gin slushie is SUBLIME!!! We had the Poutine and their shrimp roll. YUM YUM YUM! The staff is smiling and helpful. BIG THUMBS UP for the environmental effort! Everything (or almost) is compostable (glass, utensils, containers!) or otherwise recyclable Thanks for the dining experience. I recommend +++
On break... So had no chance to eat
We tried the coastal canteen and we were disappointed. It was a good meal and well presented, but too expensive for what we got. The dishes have no side dishes, so it doesnt take long for us to rack up a $100 bill to eat on a plywood table in the sun on hot asphalt. The menu is more suitable for an evening in a restaurant with service and a table than for takeout.
Limited opening hours, reservations essential, interesting menu but exorbitant prices, for street food, served in a container!!! $45 for 1 fancy hot dog and 1 fries...We ate elsewhere, imitated by several other disappointed customers...
We ate at the coastal canteen! Gourmet canteen cuisine If we had been with family I wouldnt have gone there because I find it expensive but for my boyfriend and I it was perfect! We wanted to treat ourselves and we werent disappointed at all! It was excellent!
Big crush. Friendly service and the friendliest crier! Halibut 101 and delicious roll with an inimitable herbal touch. Compostable dishes, thank you for the planet and yes everything has a price. For our part, really appreciated it.
Nordic Guédille was SUPERB!
wow top 5
You have to go to this restaurant! The oysters were prepared in an extraordinary way. The wine selection is superb. The people are welcoming. All the food is incredible, with varied and local flavors. Its absolutely worth the detour.
The Coastal Canteen: It s worth the (very small) detour! Around $25 to $35 per person for an excellent summer meal to eat outdoors. I was impressed by the work in preparing the dishes. However, you need to have a somewhat adventurous and open mind to appreciate the unusual combinations of flavors. To give them the honor they deserve, the dishes would benefit from being explained in more detail when taking the order even if a description is offered on the slates at the entrance; ultimately be given a small sheet explaining the different foods included in the dish and their origin. Personally, I had the poutine and I believe that everything was made on site or nearby (potatoes, cheese, cabbage, bacon, sausage, herbs); it was super good and generous. Downsides...sorry...the fries were a little undercooked and I prefer the cheese hot and a little melty...but when Picasso makes a slide, it still remains a masterpiece ;).
Exquisite!
Very expensive for the product offered. They seem to be way on top of their stuff. I arrive at 3:45, I am shown a poster and told that we are closed until 4:00. No sorry sir, our apologies, no usual courtesy or smile, we disturbed the waiter at the cash register. The food is good but to know how to live, go elsewhere.
Good but too expensive for what is served. We eat standing up. No toilets nearby. Sad!
A treat! Everything was perfect! Tasty, well presented and expertly made. Booked a good budget, but a must. Bravo Colombe!
Delicious!
Excellent, we greatly appreciated it. Looking forward to the end of covid to take the experience further to discover the dining room.
Very good premium quality for canteen food. Also higher price compared to traditional canteen food.
Best restaurant? Is never open and does not display changes to the schedule.
Great wine selection, oysters, food and atmosphere. Im sure when the actual restaurant is open again it would be incredible.
A spectacular way to enjoy these canteen dishes. Worth the detour!!!!
Menu and dishes from the Cantine Côtière to discover and taste. Really good!!!
Restaurant: incredibly delicious, beautiful wine list, 5/5 experience!!! well done! Canteen: disappointment, over price 2/5
Very kind staff, very clean to recommend for sure
I have just tasted the tempura halibut, really delicious, an unusual combination of flavors, yes it is expensive but large portion and impeccable freshness of the fish! Im going back tomorrow to try the guédille!
We ate in the canteen: The positive: Beautiful presentation; great employees and good service with a smile. Large portions Points to improve: poor quality of bread; especially tasteless and hard black bread. Burger not very tasty and very unrefined, same for the roll Very expensive $$ for little refinement! I have the impression that it s a tourist trap! We tried the experiment but this will be the last time.
Much too expensive ($66, tip included) for two sausage rolls and a mayo fries. Nice place facing the Bic church.
We really enjoyed our meal, excellent, copious and original (roll and grill cheese). Its a little expensive but worth the detour! Small detail: better identify recycling/composting bins.
A detour is necessary! A pleasure for the eyes and taste buds.
A must-see if you pass through Bic. Lamb shank; Flinkstone is succulent. It explodes with flavor. The problem is that it s a little expensive, it must be said But it s worth trying at least once.
Gorgeous
Excellent!! We have to stop there!
Great gastronomic experience!!! The Burger with fries and the shrimp rolls on black bread are delicious. The flavors and textures are there. A burger, shrimp dumplings, fries, paprika mayonnaise, a beer and a glass of wine $105.00 before tip. (The portions are generous). I will add patio heaters to allow people to enjoy everything comfortably standing in the church parking lot.
Super congratulations to Colombe for this magnificent work, excellent food
Such a great discovery! Super good, well thought out with local and fresh products
Simple menu, not many choices, but everything is excellent. A little expensive, but the quality is superior and the plates generous.
The snack is expensive but worth the price The quality of the products is impeccable
Always a pleasure to enjoy the canteen. Colombe is often present, she is charming and very funny. The food is delicious. Very (too?) generous portions. I advise sharing ;)
The Canteen menu... Simply disgusting... our uncooked merguez sausages.. Avoid this tourist trap for the summer... For the restaurant outside of covid...its delicious
An incredible dining experience. If you want to discover new flavors, combinations as delicious as they are improbable, let yourself be tempted by this gastronomic adventure.
I have tried several good 5-star restaurants in my life but Chez St-Pierre is WOW. I was really delighted, I will go back next summer.
A must-have, its just perfect.
An extraordinary taste experience on each of my four visits.
Very good initiative, the containers, it was really delicious.
Very good meal!
Magnificent like Colombe. That says it all... Very nice moment, great experience with my family. THANKS
Wow!!!!!!
Kind of truck background in the church parking lot, beautiful view and vacation atmosphere. Great experience. The service began around 12:30 p.m. We ate a shrimp quedille with dry ink bread, a smoke meat hot dog, a hamburger and mussels and fries. The breads from the first 3 meals were all wet and the mixture of flavors was unsatisfactory. The mussels were very good but the fries too big to be a good complement. The price is high, but the food still requires a little more research to justify it.
An unforgettable gastronomic experience at the coastal canteen at St-Pierre! Everything was sublime, the shrimp roll, the pop burger, even the fries and the mayo!
Very interesting menu with local products. However, what a disappointment. We ordered hot dogs, pogos and fries. The biggest disappointment was the pogos: adequate taste but undercooked. The breading was still liquid and leaked when eating (see photo). The fries could also have been cooked more. I believe that the coastal canteen is a victim of its popularity: lots of people and waiting, so I think we are trying to hurry. I had higher expectations for a $73 lunch
The Chez Saint-Pierre canteen offers very interesting gourmet fast-food cuisine. Everything is delicious and the portions are generous. The preparation of dishes is done in containers, which adds to the originality and curiosity.
The container idea is awesome! Really happy to have had the chance to enjoy your unique and SO exceptional cuisine. Dont give up on your good work, it was exquisite!
An experience like no other, a delight for all the senses.
A promising restaurant but whose business model is currently nuked by covid. Its now converted into a grocery counter with a few things you can eat there, but really more for cooking at home. The on-site experience is limited to sitting on the sidewalk in the sun, picking at pots with your penknife and drinking your bottle of wine from the neck like a pirate. Its not a fantastic experience, although its good. Opposite, there is the Cantine Côtière, a snack bar from the same gang which offers very good quality fat. Again, it s in the grab your stock and fly mode. The people who work at St-Pierre seem super motivated and proud of their products, which is generally one of the indicators of a good restaurant. I cant wait for this virus story to be over so I can go back and experience Colombe St-Pierre full metal jacket: something tells me it must be very interesting.
Very good meal from the Coastal Cantine. Everything was perfect. Ill come back. THANKS!
Luxury street food, truly enjoyed, quality food, innovation, generous audacity and simply delicious!!
Delicious original dishes that are worth the detour! We took advantage of the coastal canteen. Everything was fresh, well presented. Its hard to think that you will find better elsewhere in terms of originality and freshness! The price is still expensive, expect to pay but you will not be disappointed. Small downsides in times of covid-19 which explains the 4 stars, while the majority of customers wear a mask when ordering outside, none of the staff (kitchen and cashier) wore a mask or visor.
A little too heavy
A family owned restaurant that serves exceptionally tasty poutine and shrimp rolls. Really the best in North America hands down!
when a place is called a destination, I would take the plane to go there! seriously, one of the best meals of my life!
Delicious. And Le Bic is really very pretty.
Canteen... Expectations were very high. Really disappointed and very surprised by the bill!!! Also, poorly advised on portions... We really had too much!!! That s still only $150 for a canteen meal, it s very expensive!!! Except that a lot of people, so Im probably one of the only ones who think that...
Superb canteen!
Impeccable service! The food is delicious, Ill definitely go back there when Im in the area!
A place to discover, welcoming people, an unparalleled gastronomic experience!
Everything is excellent, the service, the food and Colombe! Very pleasant evening.
Very good cuisine made from local products...
Great atmosphere, attentive staff, exceptional menu, mix of exclusive flavors, best meal to date. Recommended! Congratulations to Colombe and his team!!!
Very good beef Corsican price
An extraordinary gastronomic experience! Please note, the price is accordingly...
Excellent dinner, everything tastes heavenly.
Wonderful evening, incredible dining experience. We took the 5 course choice which was delicious. The tastes were very sophisticated and the service was very attentive!
We came in 2018 for the 3 courses (lack of time) and we were delighted. Back in 2019, we had high expectations for 5 services this year. Unfortunately, (perhaps because of the hindsight of a 2nd visit?), we were very disappointed. Generally speaking, yes, the cuisine is very inventive and innovative, but frankly, the quality-price ratio is not there. Negatives We took the 5-course food and wine pairing version (price $80 + $55 = $135 per person). Right off the bat, we are told that we will be served the equivalent of 2½ glasses of wine (between 13 and 15 ounces according to industry standards, which is still modest at $55). In fact, we were served 5 small glasses in which we generally found less than 2 ounces. When we pointed out the small portions to the sommelier, she responded cavalierly It s a tasting, we serve 2 ounces . One, 5 times 2 ounces is not 2.5 glasses and two, the portions served were certainly less than 2 ounces. $55 extra for traces of wine in the bottom of our glasses, that s steep. In short, having known, we would have rather bought a bottle of wine together. Another problem is that the wine is served too long before the corresponding dishes. In some cases, our thimble of wine arrived more than 20 minutes before the corresponding dish. So not really a food-wine pairing . When the dish finally arrives, we have to delve into our memory to remember the taste of the wine that could have accompanied our dish. Only once did we get a few extra drops of wine after waiting 30 minutes for our dish. Several others have pointed this out. We leave the restaurant and we are still hungry. Yes, I know, it s gastronomy, but still. Out of 5 dishes, 2 are essentially herb emulsions, 2 include small pieces of fish and 1 includes red meat. Its good to eat rare mushrooms or sea herbs, but when I think of terroir, I also think of seafood, game, poultry; not just a leaf of sea lettuce, celery and samphire. We are often presented with the dish and told It s the result of our R&D work , as if that justifies everything. Positive points The dishes are all very inventive and the flavors sought after. Our taste buds taste new flavors. The service is generally very attentive, with the exception of the sommelier who was assigned to us. The place is very well located, in the heart of Bic in a very beautiful region. The building is very charming, decorated with modesty and good taste. We were in the glass roof and it wasnt too noisy, despite the presence of a group. In summary: Minus 1 star for the sommelier s cavalier responses Minus 1 star for poor value for money Minus 1 star for not being able to take advantage of the food and wine pairing due to the long delays. Christian Bégin should perhaps pay for his next meal out of his own pocket. It s clear that if my meal was offered to me by the boss, I would be delighted too. Madame St-Pierre, as kind and sympathetic as she is, should take inspiration from masters like Normand Laprise to develop food and wine pairing menus.
For more than two years I have wanted to go to St-Pierre with my partner. We dont go to restaurants often, but when we do, we like to go to gourmet restaurants. We finally managed to get a table in mid-July 2019. When the evening came, we dressed up to honor the table, and we headed to the restaurant. A surprise awaits us on arrival, the restaurant door is wide open. Its still over 30 degrees outside. As we enter we see why the door was open. The restaurant does not have air conditioning!!! It is a restaurant with an open concept on the kitchen. The heat is truly unbearable. How can you put your customers through this? How can we also let our staff work in such conditions? This is a place where you will still spend more than $400.00 for a meal for two. We have the right to expect a little more consideration from the owners. I ask if we can sit outside. I am told that it is impossible, even if there is a free table next to another couple who are eating there. I tell him that I dont understand why we are forced to eat in an oven. The response from the young lady at the restaurant reception: You can leave, sir, we wont hold you back... Well, were off! Really sad for a couple who drove more than 5 hours and rented a room at Bic to live the St-Pierre experience. A message to owners, it will get hotter and hotter in summer with global warming. Consider having an atmosphere and comfort in your room worthy of your kitchen, Madame St-Pierre. The customer experience in a restaurant is not just about the plate.
Simply the best restaurant in Canada... Everything was perfect, from the wine pairing, to the food and the funky but extremely professional service! Im going back next year without fail!
The best restaurant in Quebec, a discovery with every service and enthusiastic staff
A divine experience that far exceeds many culinary experiences that I have had. Thank you Ms. St-Pierre.
Very good restaurant. The dishes were original, although some had a lot of acidity. The piece de resistance was the sommelier, who was able to personalize the experience as desired. Small downside; the host had forgotten to note our reservation. They managed to accommodate us with some delay, but the host never apologized for his mistake.
We had a wonderful evening. A five course. Each of the dishes were excellent. The gazpacho of salty greens and herbs tasted like heaven. My daughters particularly liked the fir ice cream as well as the wintergreen fruit. The chef is really friendly. There is a lot of research effort that goes into developing the dishes. I dont understand why this restaurant is no longer in the top 100. In my opinion it rivals those in the top 10 such as Montréal Plaza. Honestly hats off!
3 first services disappointing to the point of changing my 7 services into 5. Incredible slowness between courses with a completely ridiculous wine pairing between each course. 45 minutes of waiting between each course with a small 2 ounces of organic wine to wait....I didnt experience anything apart from spending $400 (which I expected), I dont recommend it. There is much better in this wonderful region.
What a joy the table at Colombe St Pierre is! Surprising, inventive, full of discoveries of flavors and colors from the bottom of the river! Thank you for offering us a small place, even if it s at 5 p.m., even if we had to leave before the time of the other reservation! As the English say: you made my day! And Colombe St Pierre s good humor is contagious!
Exquisite, warm, organic, bioenergetic, authentic... But a little expensive!
I was very disappointed, not much food for the price and no menu choice.
What a delight this surprise dinner offered to our Romanian guests! To your credit for having such smiling colleagues! Thank you for this wonderful evening... we will definitely be back!
Hiiiii! What a culinary experience!!!!!! You have to experience this at least once in your life! Small downside: $$$$$$!
Disappointing experience. I had a lot of expectations for my evening at Chez St-Pierre. We celebrated my birthday there. A series of small hiccups made my experience below my expectations compared to what we had announced. A reservation error, a table set up in the entrance, an error in the sequence of services of our tasting menu, a dish of cold fish giving us the impression that it had been left on the counter because we had changed places during a meal... in short, a meal which unfortunately was not worth the $175 spent. A great culinary research overall but the overall experience spoiled our appreciation of it. Too bad because I would have liked to become an ambassador for my friends who will visit the region.
A GREAT team...an extraordinary chef...what a welcome!!! and what finesse in the dishes...
No words to describe my experience! Just amazing!
So my opinion will be a little mixed, we wanted to discover this restaurant for my girlfriends birthday, and we opted for the 7-course menu, with the food/wine pairing, i.e. $175 per person, with taxes and tips we arrive at $500 for 2. For me what we ate was not up to this price. Allowed these 7 dishes, 2 were Consommé (soup) containing an egg yolk cooked in a particular way...the first tomato soup was good, the second, egg 2898 it seems to me, n It was not pleasant at all and also accompanied by a wine that we couldnt drink because it was so strange (and not good to our taste)...otherwise the rest of the dishes were good. At this price we would expect more noble products on the plate so that the bill goes better. I dont think I will return there, the region is full of very good restaurants, much less expensive. Nothing to complain about for the service, and we really appreciated the advice and knowledge of the sommelier. Far from being of the opinion that it would be the best restaurant in Quebec.
