Beautiful little restaurant, beautiful view but the meals a little disappointing, lobster rubber lacks flavor, snails look much too liquid, salad made with balsamic oil you have to like it without asking for choice, the service great, little paradise just missing of love, very expensive for this quality

Very disappointed price-quality. a lobster for $73 plus tax and tip which was tough. A quarter pound hamburger with nothing in it except a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato even the bun was a cheap one sold by the dozen. An overcooked cod fillet. Finally a plate of paws for $40 which was half eaten because it wasnt good enough. This is the last time we go there, too expensive for a quality canteen

Very good, no-frills restaurant that emphasizes the quality of the seafood. Yes, some will say that the side salads are ordinary with the iceberg lettuce and parsley but after all, we go back for the taste of the dish main. The roll is on cold flatbread; I would have put it in the pan buttered a little to give it taste and heat I loved the scallop. And my partner enjoyed the seafood chowder.

We had the homard dinner and shared it. Delicious but a bit pricey for the lobster. Worth it though.

All seafood was overcooked (scallops, shrimp and fish). There were 3 of us who had the same thing and it was overcooked on all 3 plates.

Only two dishes to take out: Lobster roll and Lobster Club Sandwich. We took the club...$38. A little abused. Its a regular club with lobster instead of chicken. The fries are very good, but the iceberg salad is cheap and stale. Tomatoes in the club too. I find that at this price, a little love, beautiful greenery or something less common would be in order. A little seaweed or samphire salad, quality bread... there are plenty of opportunities to do better. And above all, it would be easy to add other dishes to bring. Fish & Chips for example.

Strongly suggest lobster poutine/Butter lobster . Although you need to have pre register. But any good restaurants Ive ever been needs pre book. And compare to them this one is like a, a, a shining diamond...

I had a salmon fillet. The cooking was perfect but lacked flavor. It was bland. The side salad was also average in flavor. The fries were good. For a $25 plate I had a longer wait. With the name of the restaurant I was expecting some smoked products. Unfortunately the only smoke offered was that of forest fires on the north coast . It is very hot and no air conditioning is available. The service was impeccable.

Friendly service, Flavorless food for our 4 dishes Crab salad bread X2. The crab only tasted like water. Lobster club sandwich tasted nothing. Scallops just potato and 2 mini shrimps thats all. Very expensive to eat without flavor.

Typical restaurant with a view of the river. Very friendly employees. Pleasant atmosphere. We ate tiger prawns served with delicious fries and salad, golden fillet served with rice, everything was excellent. Seafood crepe too browned and loses the flavor. Very varied menu. I recommend. Parking: On a weekday evening, with a cool temperature...not too busy. Maybe not the same thing during the big holiday period.

The food is excellent, thats the only positive point besides the benches which are at least comfortable to wait 45 minutes for a lobster gedille... They charged a final year fee to a gentleman because he used a card to pay and we stubbornly told him but our machine is expensive, sir (the costs should be calculated in the meal... Are you charging for the toilet paper? The ice cubes in the water?) really no respect for the people who have no money count... Waitress texts in the kitchen when we try to ask for service... I only recommend this restaurant if you want to get food to go

Amazing seafood, among the best I have ever had! We were a large group and they accommodated us with a fews eatings. We joined a group late and our food came with everyone elses Service was fantastic.

When you get kicked out at 4:30 p.m., they tell you its full, you have no reservations and no dishes to go out, you come back 1 hour later and its empty, it doesnt deserve not even a star for politeness... Avoid

Great seafood place by the sea. The view is amazing and the food is exceptional. Its a small, charming family-run spot. Highly recommend trying their seafood platter; its fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is perfect for a relaxing meal.

We were a group and only 1 person liked their meal. Mussels served cold and without sauce, very dry seafood pizza, lack of seasoning in the dishes. Start of season for the restaurant so Im doing this assessment to help them improve. For the price: $95 for two we expected more.

The whole menu is a little expensive, but the walleye plate was very good. The atmosphere is cool with a view of the water. Good service too!

Nice place. Very good service. The starter was delicious (seafood shell). The main course was less satisfying...seafood pizza...the crust tasted weird...like pie crust and the topping was a little lacking in flavor. I loved my evening and my meal all the same because the starter had already won me over!

Nice place on the riverbank where we ordered a lobster roll that only tasted like salad for 30 dollars. Suggestion for this restaurant, change the recipe because there is too much salad here versus the lobster which takes away the taste of the lobster. And not very tasty lobster.

This is a lovely place to enjoy a holiday meal.

We went to the restaurant and made a reservation for two. When we arrived, we had to sit in a corner where there was no good view. I kindly ask if we could sit at one of the two tables that werent even taken or reserved yet. The young woman with curly hair said to me: Its a table for four while two people (like us) sat at a table with a view also, at the back of the room. I say nothing. She proceeds to serve the couple who had arrived AFTER us while completely ignoring us. No requests for drinks or anything. Another couple arrives after us, and before they sit down, the young dark-haired waitress GIVES THEM THE CHOICE of sitting at a table with a view or in another space in the room. My question: how come 1) We werent given this kind of choice? AND 2) Why was our request for a table with a view denied WHEN TWO DIFFERENT COUPLES WERE GIVEN THIS TABLE WITH A VIEW, WHEN THE TABLES HAD FOUR SEATING? Is it because my partner and I had different skin than white skin? Because yes, we were the only people of color in the room and the treatment was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. You were disappointing! We had the best day of our trip and wanted to end it with a nice meal. Instead, we had to leave the place in tears because IT REALLY HURT ME to witness and experience your racism.

Bad service from our entrance to the restaurant until the exit, the staff making us wait to be seated while 4 tables are free, even though they had claimed not to give reservations. Very expensive dishes for a taste that is simply correct. Would not recommend

This is a very good restaurant with many customers and good business. Reservations are generally required to get a table. The environment inside and outside the restaurant is very good, every corner is carefully decorated and very warm. The waiter was polite and friendly, and arranged a seat for us without a reservation. Although it took a while, it was worth it. The two of us ordered the famous captains set meal. The portion was large enough, the dishes were fresh, the taste was good, and the presentation was beautiful. Apart from the price, it was impeccable

Insufficient staffing! Staff on site are overwhelmed, but work hard! Prices are excessive for the products. Line ups to gain entry, prepare yourself for a wait! Premise is overrated! It is essentially a Burger Joint with lots of seafood available on the menu!

The best lobster bread. An exceptional place on the banks of the river with breathtaking views, this restaurant is a must. Copious plates, offering freshness, excellent homemade fries, a kind and smiling waitress. We will definitely come back.

In Rivière du Loup, a small restaurant with a Herman Melville atmosphere in a very typical little port. The food is typical with crab, shrimp and lobster at a very reasonable price. The service is excellent, dont hesitate to leave a good tip. Parking: Very easy, free parking at the ferry boarding place.

They have some delicious foods and the location is beautiful. Service was also good and we were squeezed in without reservation. The only reason for the 4 stars is the above criteria in relation to price. The ingredients were of high quality, but the portions a bit small. I will gladly return, and recommend the Au Boucaneux to everyone (my favorites are the appetizer eel and the seafood poutine).

The whole family loved the cod fillet and rice, land-sea plate and beef-lamb gyro. In addition, the waitress was cheerful and very friendly and the service was fast. THANKS!

We are made to wait until 8:30 p.m. but lots of people walk past us without reservations. Honestly too expensive for what you get on the plate and the volume. $12 for Iceberg lettuce in a small soup bowl. $9.50 for a small bowl of soup. Seafood pizza ..pizza ..? Seafood shrimp and a few small scallops don t wait too long. Well, our waitress was pleasant.

The fish and seafood are excellent. The cooking is good. Impeccable service. However, the asides are like a cafeteria. Tomato iceberg salad, sprinkled with parsley for the look..., white rice, ish. Seriously, you change your accompaniments and this restaurant scores a solid mark. Im not talking about anything very complicated. You have access to a wide range of local products, such as sea spinach and samphire, take advantage of them! You sauté this in a pan with butter, thank you good evening! Note for restaurants: sprinkle on the parsley. It doesnt look good, it looks cheap, it tastes like nothing, and it costs you money for nothing, which you could reinvest in something other than individually packaged factory bread that comes from Ville LaSalle. That s good, there are plenty of local bakeries ;) (I include the butter cups in there) As the owner, I would reduce the menu to 1 page. By the way, this is the 3rd or 4th time Ive been there. There is potential and every time I cross my fingers that the era of parsley is over.

Ive eaten in seafood restaurants all over the USA and never had a seafood dinner (their captains platter) that was any better. Service was good, the ambiance was quiet and comfortable. If I could give this place a 10, I would!

This place is truly a hidden gem! Incredibly friendly staff and even more incredible food. I got a very large and decadent seafood pizza with toppings ranging from scallops to shrimp for 22 CAD. It was so good I actually came to buy the same pizza two days in a row. The restaurant itself is also in a beautiful location and theres nothing quite like watching the ferry come and go as you eat. Highly highly recommend :)

Honestly I expected much better, the seafood shell was bland and the small scallops werent great when we tasted the Quebec product I dont see why we take the stock that comes from elsewhere! I ate a surf and tuff for the main meal, the cooking was perfect but the sauce, the fat floated on top, the giant scallop was far from coming from Quebec, such a big disappointment for $115, honestly, it wasnt worth it at all! !!! On the other hand, the service was very good, the waitress was kind and courteous and the view was magnificent and it was still a pleasant moment! But I wouldnt go back!

I went there for lunch and had the fish bisque. The reason I give 4 stars is that the soup was a little too salty and that the portion for a meal was a bit small for the price. ($18.29) I ate outside overlooking the river which was very pleasant.

Already came a few years ago. I really appreciated the cooking, the quality, the preparation and the value for money. I was very disappointed on my last visit. The prices have increased by 35% ~, the portions have decreased, the fries are overcooked, the langoustine tastes nothing, the tiger shrimp have become frozen maxi shrimp, the cod is seasoned in the same way as the fish. Popular place as we couldn t get a spot for dinner. Came back for next day lunch. Friendly staff. Food was very good. Dore fillet was fresh and tasty. Seafood crepe was also very good. We saw a lot of people having the seafood pizza which also looked delicious.Recommend eating here.

Prime location. Dine-in menu appears to be different from take-out menu. We didnt get the opportunity to try dine-in, as to the take-out experience, I personally feel it is not as great as I expected so I didnt even bother taking pictures for the dishes, overall its a bit pricy and tastes just everage.

An update is necessary. We took 2 dishes, BASED ON THE GOOGLE COAST, salmon and spaghetti with lobster. Well, quite simply disappointing, even inedible! On the one hand, little or very little lobster in the spaghetti and on the other hand salmon served half frozen without taste. It was squishy and waterlogged. It s clearly a low quality salmon steak. Its time to bear witness to a reality in a restaurant that is on the side... We informed the waitress, who cut us off by continuing our sentence: was it undercooked? But Im dreaming! She knew it was undercooked. We didnt have the right to speak to the chef, and the bill was steep... Move on if you can... Worst meal of our vacation, even though we also went camping.

Simply DISGUSTING! I dont know where all these suspicious goggle reviews come from that we unfortunately relied on. We are a family with 2 children and took: seafood pasta (recooked spaghetti dipped in glutinous béchamel and some shrimp here and there), lobster bread (super dry, we look for the lobster and the fries are inedible), the salmon steak (not cooked, clearly frozen, you will have the impression of eating a sponge) and the shrimp croquettes (too salty, where are the shrimp?). A nightmare waiting for the ferry. Unacceptable! All this for over $170!! And not even a gesture at the bill when we mentioned all these problems. The waitress was just sorry . Truly shameful! Run away and instead enjoy the picnic tables while looking for belugas

Was excited to try it. Arrived at 4pm and was told theyre booked until 8pm. Ok fair enough. I asked if I can order take out and well sit outside as theres picnic tables nearby and was told no, theyre too busy. Congrats on the success but why not just take the order, tell us to wait 30 mins and all is fine? The restaurant was half empty when we got there.. How could it be too busy to place an order for take out? Ridiculous.

Le Boucanneux is quite simply the best place to eat seafood in Rivière-Du-Loup, the owner Louise is dedicated to serving you excellent dishes, from club sandwiches to lobster, shrimp and scallops. cooking is precise and the taste of the sea is really present. The view of the river with the sunset in the background is definitely worth the detour!

And the atmosphere in this little restaurant with a view of the river was incomparable. Sans doute je serai toujours là à toutes mes visites soit à Rivière du Loup ou comme arrête obligatoire dans toutes mes vacances et passages proches du resto. % époustouflant!
