L'Intercolonial in Rivière-du-Loup

I like this restaurant, the food is good and the staff is smiling and even funny at times. Warm atmosphere thanks to a vintage building located in the city center of Rivière-du-Loup. I highly recommend! Vegetarian options: No vegetarian menu.

If you are looking for a great dining experience in Rivière-du-Loup, L Intercolonial Bistro might be a good choice. Their cuisine highlights fresh and local ingredients, served in a friendly and warm atmosphere. Whether for a romantic evening or a meal with friends, it s a very beautiful restaurant. The menu is very varied. There are stir-fries, pastas, pizzas, and much more. For my part, I went there for dinner and I was able to benefit from their lunch menu including soup/salad as a starter, main course and beverage included. For $2.50 you had access to a dessert. For the latter it was disappointing, we were promised something resembling strawberry shortcake but we were treated to a slice of a baking tray style cake with a chemical strawberry flavor. For the main course, I had an excellent veal liver poutine. I was given a beef and salad sandwich. Very affordable quality/price for a good midday meal.

As there was a wait, we went for a drink at the triangle bar (right next door and run by the co-manager, a very nice Frenchman who took the time to speak with us and give us advice. We continued the evening for dinner at the restaurant generous portions and very good welcome with a lovely waitress. See you soon we will come back during a next trip to Quebec

We were at your restaurant on October 14, 23. We waited easily a good 25 minutes at the table. No one, no waiter came to see us... other customers came in after us and were served. The waiters passed by us and none came to see us. We were ignored by the staff. I dont know if it was the manager I spoke to but no manners from him when I was mentioned to him. We left seeing that no one was coming to see us. Really disappointing in terms of staffing.

I went to the Intercolonial for the first time yesterday (February 17), super good service, it was fast, the food was super good and fresh. Inside, it s a really beautiful restaurant style. Variety on the menu, lots of alcohol or wine choices, clearly a new favorite restaurant Im going back very soon

All the meals are super good! On the other hand, the only problem is that the majority of meals are sweeter. It s a shame I like my savory meals more but it s still very very good

We arrived at the restaurant without a reservation during a big rush, we were seated and served in record time despite the circumstances. The food was to die for, the look, the flavor everything was there. The staff was also very knowledgeable and friendly! Excellent experience this evening, there were 4 of us and we all chose very different dishes and everything was perfect, tasty, hot and very well presented. The exceptional service even if 2 people were missing, the boss and the whole team took care of us and all the customers present. We highly recommend them!

The starter was delicious! 5/5 Classic options, but reinvented with flair and delight! There was quality there. The sauce choices were tasty. An interesting choice of appetizers. Rib Burger 4/5: Great combination of ingredients, every bite was a delight. On the other hand, the meatball didnt taste anything... but overall, it was still in good taste. I would get one like that again! The fries are excellent but I dont recommend poutine :s Mac & cheese 5/5: An ideal option for Mac lovers! Once tasted you dont want another recipe. Having it au gratin makes it even more perfect. Cocktail 2/5: Recipes that seem special instead and have potential. However, I found a light taste, even diluted. A normal presentation in glasses. Its not a must-have for cocktails, but it enhances the meal. I would rather opt for a wine. Service 5/5: Fast, smiling, good advisor. Bonus for me, it clears everything as it goes so no unnecessary clutter on the table! As for the atmosphere, it was a great experience. The smallness of the restaurant doesnt detract from anything, we feel good at our table. The music was diverse. The bistro-style lighting was well subdued and provided a relaxing climate. Avoid at all costs if you eat late. The kitchens close early and you are informed quite bluntly despite the fact that a reservation had been placed in advance. Pressure to order upon arrival. Despite this unpleasant welcome from the manager/owner, the service was impeccable thereafter. Correct food nothing more. Too bad because we chose the place based on the very positive reviews from previous customers.

Excellent food. Generous, tasty and meaty ribs (no pieces of fat!!) several choices of side dishes offered (no extras). The salad is excellent with its homemade vinaigrette, delicious baked potato with sour cream, succulent beets with honey sauce and raspberries, pork tenderloin was also perfect. Delicious house wine and affordable price. Clean bathroom. We will return there next summer for sure!!!.

Good food, good wine, superb decor

Waiting time to get our plates rather long, but acceptable. My drink (cosmopolitain) tasted only of cranberry juice and seemed to contain no alcohol. When I received my plate, the rice was cold. My friend also had rice on her plate and it was also cold. I then realized that my salmon was not cooked. I tried to call my waitress without success. At no time did she ensure that the dishes were to our taste. 5 minutes later, a man sitting at the table next to us mentioned that his salmon was undercooked, so I was able to return my plate as well. The owner apologized and brought me my plate. The rice was still cold. The water jug emptied within the first 10 minutes and remained empty until we left. Disappointing.

Warm atmosphere and good food!

There s not much opened on Monday when I arrived. I looked it up and decided to give this restaurant a try. The staff is so friendly and helpful with recommendation. I really like the beer cocktail and the food is good. I was quite surprised with the price since it s the cheapest I ve ever had in Quebec. I would highly recommend this place.

Excellent general tao, the starter of cheese/bacon sticks is to roll on the floor and the ribs burger won my boyfriends heart. 6 stars out of 5!
