100 Rte de l'Anse-au-Persil, Rivière-du-Loup, QC G5R 5Z6, Canada
Modest inn offering basic river-view rooms with free WiFi, plus a restaurant & a sundeck.
Cheap and cheerful motel, dated furnishings, great bed and super clean. Claudette who took my reservation was very friendly, if you find a super clean room to be important this motel has nailed it.|Nice balcony to sit out on and watch the sunset over the river
This small hotel was very cute and quaint. The retro furniture takes you back in time. 😁 the room is clean and tidy, the beds are comfortable and the water is hot. No microwave or fridge but there is wifi, television and a kurig coffee maker. All rooms face the St. Lawrence River. There is a terrace on both floors with tables to sit and enjoy the stunning views. Our room had 2 double beds and a surprise Murphy bed, single so would be perfect for a small family. Thank you!
Darkest room ever, no hair dryer, no fridge, cheap toilletteries. At the front desk the lady asks us why we are too late cause she is waiting for us to check in (we arrived at 9 pm.) Balcony's front view is blocked by trees. Old fashioned TV. The shower was good and comfortable bed. Does not worth the price.
This was a one night stop on our way home from the Gaspé and it was a great choice. Close to restaurants and nice waterfront park with walking path and picnic tables. The view from balconies is outstanding and we saw a family of belugas playing. Breakfast is well worth the money also.
Little gem of a motel. Clean, a little dated decor but worth it for the spectacular sunset! Amazing view! Fridge in room and comfortable bed. Shower floor was spongy?? Water beneath? Owners were very polite & helpful and tried to speak English with my own lacking French! Close to restaurants in the area.
The other reviews are spot on when they say this is basic. A small room, no coffee making, never found the hairdryer BUT a view to rival most places we have stayed over many years of holidays. The sun slowly sinking behind the hill oposite was amazing and the veranda was a good place to watch the tides. There is good WiFi, plenty of parking and a very good breakfast for an extra $5.
The room we were in was very very basic. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but rooms are small. It didn't suit our needs. There was No clock, No phone, No coffee maker, no where to put luggage, limited plugs, And you had to pay a small fee for breakfast. Also, no place to leave key other than in the room if you wanted to check out early. Tried unsuccessfully knocking and ringing the door bell. We could have and should have stayed at the nearby quality inn where for the same price we would have had all that.
From the rooms at the back you have splendid views, especially at sunset (we were told by others staying there) over St Laurent, we were "upstairs". Rooms otherwise are large (at least the one we got for family of four, with even couch and reasonably large seating area), but somewhat run down (curtains allow much light), and television is probably the oldest model we had on our trip. Compared with the very friendly welcome in Quebec generally this one is quite "cautious". Breakfast can be taken for 5 cad, choice made from menu. Evening there would be some choice for dinner but we arrived too late for that part. Boat to other side is very close, city centre is a few kilometers away. It is next to the road, so best not to sleep with room open on that side of room.
3 nights over Thanksgiving which completely met my expectations: very clean room, very comfortable bed and incredible view. The welcome was very friendly.
Good welcome. Clean room but big problem with air conditioning too strong, not accessible to reduce it. Positive point, the receptionist managed to have a more pleasant temperature in the room. Decent breakfast. Nice view point at the back of the building.
Lovely and relaxing stay! Very nice motel. Own. Beautiful flowers. Charming rustic decor. Comfortable bed. Nice surprise from the fridge! Patio door and beautiful view of the river on the magnificent wooden terrace. Each room has its own small private patio. Very cool! The Auberge is super well located just at the entrance to Rivière-du Loup (vehicle required to get around). The owner was kind enough to give us the end room so that our Golden Retriever dog had direct access to the side land :) It was a really pleasant stay! I recommend! The ceiling being poorly insulated, we hear a lot of people on the 2nd floor, but we slept well, peacefully at night. A hair dryer would be welcome. The hot and cold water in the sink are separate, the old-fashioned way, so its impossible to wash your hands with lukewarm water. We were a little cramped in the room with all our supplies, the cage and the big dog, but I dont regret my choice. I loved the place! When its not windy, which is rare, you smell a little cow manure from the farm across the street. The dining room is closed at the moment. Nearby activities: Kiskotuk coastal park, Gros-Cacouna sector: marshes and mountains. We even saw belugas! Rivière-du-Loup Falls Park: super beautiful, several different ecosystems, varied landscapes, Parc de la Pointe at the foot of the Auberge and belvedere within walking distance.
The view is incredible! On the other hand, I was very cold even having turned the heating up to 20 C°
Small, unpretentious inn, well located and pleasant welcome.
We really liked it a lot. The staff is very welcoming and directed us to good places like restaurants and things to see. The rooms were impeccably clean and the view from the rear balcony was truly magnificent. Nothing to complain about.
Magnificent place and an extraordinary and friendly welcome
I paid for a Queen bed and I got a double bed, when I booked lunch was included except that on arrival there was no more staff to do it, my room price was no has not been lowered however. The lady was alone to do everything (poor her) BUT the view was magnificent
Beautiful view. Clean but dated room. Too bad there is no mini-fridge and microwave like most motels. The wifi didnt work!
A little old and shabby! No internet service Not soundproofed Magnificent viewpoint
Very nice view. Good service with a nice welcome Rooms: Very clean, despite the years
Magnificent view, very clean room and very courteous staff. Although well maintained, the establishment would certainly benefit from some renovations in order to bring everything a little more up to date. Please note that the hostel is located in front of a farm and that there are sometimes smells and noise. (personally this was not disturbing).
Noteworthy details: Près du traversier St Simenon bon petit resto beau panorama Rooms
Clean nothing more but the view is worth it
superb view... its all amazing!!
Unpretentious hostel. The rooms are clean. Super welcoming owner. Breathtaking view. Perfect for a stop on the way back from Gaspésie.
What a view!
THE... breathtaking landscape. Pure vintage decor.
Rooms: Très belle et propre Hotel highlights
Very clean and an exceptional view!
Very beautiful view, impeccable welcome and dedicated owner. A little outdated but worth visiting.
The beds are not comfortable but the view is splendid
Breathtaking view, sunset spectacle
Very quaint motel. Right on the edge of the St Lawrence. Just on the fringe of town. Excellent experience.
Everything has been said... The bedroom door doesnt close.... and luckily the manager finds a piece of wood exactly the right size to jam the bedroom door. The light and the TV turn on by themselves during the night.... The manager is at least frank enough to tell me that this is the last room available in Rivière du Loup... To be avoided... unless its This is the last room at your disposal....
The view is superb but thats it! No comfort, you can hear the neighbors in the next room and the passing car. Outdated furniture, the floors are crooked, it smells musty. Im really disappointed, the price is way too expensive for the offer.
No soundproofing between rooms. We got poked on the head all evening and from 7:00 a.m. the next morning. Motel stuck on the 132. Very noisy. Bathroom from the last century (1950). The bath descent is a paper placemat. unstable wifi. Armchair in the room even older than the bathroom. We didnt dare sit on it because it looked so dusty. No small fridge in the room. Imagine everything at $120.00 plus taxes which gives $145.00 at the end of September. You have to do it. Unfortunately, I forgot to check the comments before renting, something I usually do.
We got a mini 1 bed room on the ground floor for the same price, instead of the large 2 double bed room on the 2nd floor. In addition, the view was obstructed on the ground floor. Zero comfort is not worth 2 stars. Very disappointing
The place is disgusting. A smell of urine invades the room the furniture is very old not to mention the bedding which dates from the 50s The carpet smells musty. Do not walk barefoot.. We can hear everything that is happening in the others rooms. Not recommended, Its really not worth the asking price of 130.00 per night. Avoid at all costs. Dont get caught like us.
A somewhat outdated 2-star motel, owner-managed. You can see that efforts are being made to keep the motel/rooms up to standard. Somewhat simple furnishings, which is probably why only 2 stars. But: Fantastic terrace in front of the room with a view over the St. Lorenz Stream, great to watch at sunset. Definitely bookable for 1 or 2 nights when passing through!
Near the river
Super clean and beautiful sunset!
The room, sheets and bathroom were clean. The decor and the bed are from another era.
We were surprised by the place which lacked maintenance. We had a room in the back on the second floor. We had to leave the room door open for several hours because the musty smell camouflaged by cleaning products penetrated our nostrils (it is true that there is also a farm in front of the inn, so , we avoided opening the only small window despite the heat). Too much bulky and unnecessary furniture (in poor condition and not comfortable). No space or small table adequate to have a meal inside the room. Only one small trash can and its in the bathroom. Our garbage bags were left outside our room door during our entire stay (two nights) without anyone picking them up. Could really do with a bit of updating up to date. The owner could be more welcoming and warm. When you decide to work with the public, you need to know yourself well enough to know if you have or dont have this sense of customer service! Too bad, because the view is superb. But I would not recommend this place for people who want to enjoy their stay with a minimum of comfort.
Very clean, a little dated, but worth its weight in gold. Claudette is a most pleasant host. All rooms have stunning views of the river. Suitable for couples, young or old, as well as families.
Claudette the innkeeper is exceptional
Very beautiful, peaceful place and the landscape took your breath away
Clean and good service from the kind owner. Good homemade lunch for $5.00 dollars.
Kind owners, dog friendly, great view...
Arrived on the go received with a smile incredible view and what can I say about your pancakes Mme Claudette they are simply excellent. Looking forward to it!
Quiet, simple, clean, nice welcome from the manager.
Comfortable and warm place. Very well received by the owner Claudette. Superb view of the river.

Clean and comfortable room ,beautiful view ,good breakfast.
Lovely place. Modest, comfortable and very clean. Large balcony with river view. The lunch food is of good quality. The innkeeper is very friendly.
Amazing view, dog friendly
Very nice view from the balcony. On the other side of a farm, do the smell comes with it by moment. Cozy stay.
Nice room (a little rustic), breakfast was good, and the view in the morning was amazing!
Very good value. Room was very basic but clean and the views were absolutely amazing. Breakfast was good and affordable. Would stay here again.
A little rustic but the view is magnificent and worth the stay.
Extraordinary view of the St. Lawrence River
Great view, comfortable and clean. Breakfast on site
We had a very nice stay at the Auberge de lAnse. The view is magnificent. The rooms are very clean and the owner is very helpful and friendly. Lunch is served at a modest price.
The best holiday I have ever had! Loved the comfort, cleanliness and personality from Claudette. I will be back...many many times!!
Nice river view, clean, old, expensive
We are very well received. Everything is very clean, clear and quiet. Im going back for sure
The view from your room is amazing, and the host is really nice. Well, thats pretty much it! Its a small motel with a beautiful view.
A breathtaking view of the river, very clean rooms, impeccable service! I strongly recommend this hostel to anyone who wants to spend a quiet time in a small hostel.
Spectacular view of the river
