Dirty, smelly room, toilet even worse, common areas are falling apart, five minutes into this mistake I couldn't get refunded but I left anyway, stay away folks.
rented room 22 at the hotel next door with a panoramic view of the river, the room is really spacious and very clean, and we thank Mr. Samir for his very warm welcome and sympathy. And I'll come back next time with more days just to relax!!!!!!!
I made a reservation for about 55 people at the last minute for July 2023. It was difficult to find a place, but when I called Mr. Samir, he arranged everything for us and provided us with the room we wanted without any deposit. But unfortunately we can't make the trip, so I called to cancel and he was really kind and understanding of the situation. I really recommend the hotel for the hospitalization and the welcome of Mr. Samir. All the best
Place was very sketchy and dirty. I dontvthink the rooms had been cleaned in a while. I cleaned everything before touching and was very dirty. I thought I was going to get stuck in my room as to open the door I had to put my entire weight on it to open or close... the door jammed. Beds were old and saggy. Microwave is from the 80s with a dial to cook... there was even garbage on closet shelf from someone else making food there. Definitely not worth the money spent there
Very old motel. It was clean though. I didn’t like that all of the outlets were occupied and I had no where to charge my phone. Also there is no bedside table to put items that someone might need to have close by at night. It’s a narrow spot next to the bed but there is room for a small shelf or narrow IKEA type nightstand. No clock radio either. They have a decent size mini fridge in which we were able to fit our small cooler without having to empty its contents and refrigerate all the items separately. I found that to be practical. They have a toaster, coffee pot and a microwave. (We didn’t have a need to use any of these.) They have dishes but the drinking glasses were grimy. Wifi is free but the signal was weak and non existant in the back part of the room. There are other motels in town that are about $20 more a night that I believe I will try next time I am in this area. I would still describe this place a decent place for the price you’re paying (we paid $80/night + taxes).
We stayed here as a stop over on our way to the maritimes. We payed $125CAD for a room for 5 people. If you have more than 2 kids, you know how expensive rooms can be for a family of 5 or more. After reading the reviews I knew what to expect. I agree with other reviews, It does need to be refreshed. That said, the hotel room we had was huge, with 3 doubles and a kitchenette. The beds were comfortable. No problem with WIFI. It was clean and everything worked. Staff was friendly. I would recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay again.
Parking: very tight when we stayed.||Kitchenette: A/C was located in this room instead of the bedroom; the A/C unit was so loud, we had to turn it off so we could sleep in the bedroom; mini fridge wasn't very cold even with temperature down lowest; freezer door in mini fridge was missing; the chairs and table reminded me of my grandparents old table and chairs; decor was beyond dated.||Living Room: very dated; cracked and loose floor tiles throughout; modern TV with good picture and sound; nice lamp; armchair and love seat okay; painting on the wall was okay; only one spare plug.||Bedroom: cracked and loose floor tiles throughout; no available plugs at all; reading light behind bed did not work; decor was beyond dated; bed was very loud (squeaky) and rigid (hard); if I could have slept in my car, I would have.||Bathroom: beyond dated; very bright (good thing); toilet kept tuning after flushed and had to take tank top of to stop tank from constantly running (draining) toilet not likely cleaned as I found a "hair" of sorts on the seat; towels we okay.||Overall: not worth $88 dollars even with kitchenette; didn't feel comfortable while staying here.
Everything in the area was full, so with reluctance (after reading reviews) booked a room here. However, it was not so bad, clean, not too expensive, we got a room 19 overlooking the lake on the terrace were chairs and table perfect for breakfast. ||The room had a stove fridge microwave toaster and a little old tv. In the bathroom everything workedand we had a shower gel haha;) air conditioning worked. Close to the main street (10 minutes walk ). We stayed for two nights, we were in town to watch the whales as we did.||It is a motel with two stars so dnot expect miracles

New owners lots of renovations already done. Very good service.. We are received like friends if something is missing just ask and the response is very quick.. very clean.. thank you for the stay.. large bedroom with separate rooms. ..much appreciated..

Phewff. Although the owner was nice, I have two comments about him. 1) I had to argue so that my dog could be accepted even though on its website every room accepts them. 2). I think hes a little too insistent on leaving positive comments. Hence the little videos presented here and captured by himself from mature people, I understood. As for the room (10), it was clean and repainted but the old smells of cigarettes and humidity were present and very unpleasant. The bed is too soft for my taste, the towels were stained and the neighbors a little strange ..I think they are more or less long-term tenants. Strong smell of cannabis outside. I do not recommend this motel, especially at this price.

Its a real dupe!!!If you want to be woken up at 3am by crackheadz who chatter to themselves all night AND EVERY NIGHT!!!In a magnificent 70s room with no room service, no paper no toilet or towel and lots of plaster patches on the walls this is the place for you. On the other hand if you are a worker and you need your 8 hours of sleep and a detailed bill go elsewhere the receptionist will yell at you for that you you ask him. The showers work well and the view is beautiful for a party, it s perfect

Best value for money around. This roadside motel exceeded my expectations. Arriving without a last minute reservation following a mechanical problem at 10:30 p.m., we were received like kings. The owners even brought us a meal!!! Our experience here was a truly relaxing mid-trip, and I wouldnt hesitate to return on future trips. A big thank you to the team!
Motel très vieux et qui a besoin dun gros effort de rénovation. Toutefois laccueil a été sympathique et les chambres propres. Notre chambre avait 4 parties : chambre, salon, cuisine et salle de bain Le propriétaire nous a assuré quil nétait là que depuis une semaine. Nous avons dû payer en cash car la machine à carte ne fonctionnait pas.

Smell of damp in the room. The place really needs reno, dangerous walk to get to reception among other things.
The new administration brings a refreshing atmosphere to the motel which is worth the detour whether you are alone or with family the quality/price will be there, I recommend it!!!
I would like to point out that I had a very nice experience in my trip to Rivière du Loups thanks to this magnificent place. I thank the warm welcome from Samir who was able to provide for our needs, he provided us with a very clean room. and peaceful. Im definitely starting again (dont worry, its a very successful family place) !!

I have been here for 2 weeks and I am very well served. The person who takes care of the rooms is a really good person when I arrived. The housekeeping was impeccable. Good people with a lot of empathy

Made a reservation, arrived at 730pm as discussed with staff, room had a small kitchen so we went to Maxi and grabbed frozen pizzas, stove did not work so called office and we were told there was nothing they could do. Bed was very old, smoke detector didnt work. Do not stay here, nothing has been updated in probably 30 years. Very disappointed
The reviews are true, the person at reception was completely charming! The rest also remains true, the places are in great need of refreshing. Overall it was clean, but you cant erase 60 years of history from a carpet. In short, it does the job for a stop.

Stayed here for one week. Room with kitchen was very good with reasonable price. Wifi had surprisingly very good speed. Calm and quiet place. Owner was very friendly. Will go back there for sure
Stifling damp and musty smell. No possibility of opening the windows. No ventilation system after the shower, ceiling affected by mold and temptation to cover it up with white tape... Fridge that doesnt work, no WIFI, old TV that doesnt work... Very hard beds. Questionable cleanliness. We left for our home without sleeping there, ultimately preferring to drive and not stay in this place a moment longer despite having paid $100 for the night!!!

Our night was exceptional, this warm motel made us discover that the Wolf River was a gold mine. Founded in 1940, this rare gem allowed us to refresh ourselves with no air conditioning, a toilet that gave the impression that the shower left with a hint of a whale in the ocean which made the place indelible in our eyes. Additionally, I recommend this motel to people who have no self-esteem and are looking for a place that smells like pogo dipped in ranch dressing with an amalgamation of whole-grain Dijon mustard. Finally, if I could give a 10 star, I would. As Gandhi said: Life is a mystery to be experienced, not a problem to be solved. » DROP THE MIC!
Very quaint little Motel, one of the highlights of our trip, amazing views of the River from our room and in a great centralized location in RDL. Not too fancy but perfect for a night or two on the while travelling. Our room came with a kitchenette. Wifi was very good as well.

Je vous déconseille ce motel ! Jai été dans plusieurs motels et jai jamais eu de chambre aussi malpropre ! Ouff !! Odeur d humidité/ impossible douvrir les fenêtres car aucun moustiquaire/ le plancher sale/ il y avait une arrachide sur la table et des miettes de pain sur le poêle et cest sans parler du lit incorfortable et oreiller en galette.

To avoid !! Only positive point: the lady at reception is very kind and welcoming. Neglected, dirty rooms, abandoned balcony, broken air conditioning so option of a window that opens from the outside and does not lock... with a neighbor who listens to television until midnight or another who lets his dog wander around the balcony, barking: terrible night. Balcony offering a view of the water but everything is so messed up that I was no safer there than on the stairs to go up to the room. Close to town and points of interest. Sleeping in the car is a better option.

Cleaning the building still requires a lot of cleaning, I do a lot of motels and but the view on the second floor is magnificent. But the lady is very friendly, laughing, and the prices for the rooms are lower than the price and much less expensive. other hotels, so come and encourage this in friendly. It has rooms with up to 3 large double beds, you wont find me expensive.
It was small quick just a night
If I could give it a zero I would. House keeping attempted to kick me out of my room at 8 am to clean our room. Used their key to burst in while we were sleeping. The bed felt like cardboard with a very thin quilt . 10/10 will never return to this godawful hotel

I was woken up by the cleaners screaming from one end to the other. And whats more, they came knocking at 8:00 in the morning to clean! Totally absurd... When I complained to the owner she told me that she had been nice to me because she had opened the door for me when I arrived at 1:30 in the night and that I had not no reason to complain... for $20 more its worth staying in a real HOTEL

Room was decent with good little kitchen. Great view on the second floor deck. AC was incredibly loud and sounded broken, bathtub did not drain well at all. What makes this two stars is that two men were able to open our locked door in the morning well before checkout time. I was sitting on the bed undressed and a man just opened the door wide open without knocking. Before that, a younger man knocked and then opened the door on my boyfriend. The door was locked but clearly can be just pulled open anyways. Its not a deadbolt lock. When approaching the front desk about this, we just got a sorry. I was totally shocked in the morning with someone opening the door wide open on me, and in total two people able to open the door that was locked. Beware, the doors barely lock.

Room that stinks the shower is not recommended because it is stained. Not recommended at $100.00 per night. The door hangs and closes poorly and dusty
Bed was comfy and it had a kitchen. In serious need of groundskeeping to restore the view. The motel and historical home are in disrepair, restaurant is closed with some lonely abandon chairs on a deck patio.

Pros: Great value, awesome view of the water from the balcony. Staff very friendly. 15MBPS wifi which is surprisingly great. Cheap. Clean. Cons: Beds not very comfy, ac was leaking for some reason but besides that great experience.

It really doesnt smell good... it smells like humidity. Cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Big hair found in our bed. Very old and extremely noisy air conditioning. We have visited several hotels on our route and this is the worst. For 10-15 dollars more we got a lot better. What struck me most was the smell...

This hotel is on the old side and although it was renovated, it was likely only cosmetic. My room somehow only had warm water. The owner was really nice though and the price was adequate.

Location was good, and room was adequate for the night. Beds not comfortable, but not uncomfortable. Only major complaint is the bathroom door didnt have a lock. Slightly musty smell from the AC.
The main building is quite striking, but most (all?) of the rooms are in a non-descript motel behind. Not at all glamorous. When you walk in, you are struck by the smell of disinfectant. The interior design is quite depressing. However, once you get over that, you find a suite that is quite spacious, clean and liveable for a short stay - or longer if you need to save money.
Clean motel, people are very friendly. We are plunged back into an atmosphere of the 80s, for the cooking to be done on site it is a little archaic but doable. Do not provide vegetables to peel, rather simple and basic meals (cans, pasta, rice).

During Workers Day in 2016 we booked a room for one night in this motel.....This motel was shabby and very poorly insulated. He welcomed customers accompanied by their animals but he hid this information under the accessories tab on his website. The welcome there was rather shy and absent. Poorly identified parking lot. Part of the 2nd floor patio was summarily blocked because it was dangerous to walk around on. I dont know why the Ministry of Tourism tolerates the rental of this type of establishment. I would have given no stars but its impossible to publish without displaying one.?????

Extremely unclean place.... I go to a lot of motels for work and this one is one of the worst. When I lifted the mattress I found several hairs as well as food. Not to mention the wifi which barely works. I do not recommend staying there, thank you.
Fairly clean rooms. Out of date, but friendly staff.. Dont speak English well, but I dont speak French well! The decor was hideous, and a lot of works needs to be done.. Pillows were terrible, but we both slept.
