Qui ne connaît pas le Casse-croûte La Licorne, situé dans le quartier Saint-Ludger à Rivière-du-Loup? Depuis 2002, jeunes et moins jeunes s'y régalent et profitent de la meilleure poutine en ville, de pizzas, poulet frit, hamburgers, tous plus délicieux les uns que les autres. C'est en 2011 que la petite roulotte à patates frites est passée de cantine érigée sur le même terrain, et c'est en 2020 que 4 nouveaux actionnaires se sont portés acquéreurs du réputé casse-croûte. Oui, les licornes existent... Et ça goûte franchement bon!

I like the food but i was desappointed when I order a submarine and was told that they did not have bread for it. They suggest to me other items on the menu no extra charge.Good service and friendly personnel.
Awesome poutine . We indulged in both the classic and the all dressed. Generous portion of those irresistible cheese curds. Service was friendly and seating outside if you prefer.
I came here because of the previous Google reviews. And it was underwhelming. Average at best. The "sausage" poutine was chopped up hot dogs... Fries had decent crisp to it but the gravy was bland and barely melted the curds. I tasted my friend's regular and "all dressed" and they were equally bland. Again, not terrible, but if you were hoping for the definitive Quebec poutine experience, this isn't it. You'd be better off at one of the chains like Smoke's or Poutineville.
This place is just okay. The owner didn’t know English but she was friendly. The patty in cheese burger is quite dry. We enjoyed the poutine until we found a long hair in it so we had to throw the all the rest.

I couldn't speak French very well and they couldn't speak English but they were very kind and I ordered a poutine. They add a herb that gives the gravy a unique taste, the right thickness, very good portion. I was so very please we stopped on out 17hr trip back to Ontario from New Brunswick. This little place is a must stop, just remember to get a fork before you leave lol I thought they put one in my to go bag but there wasn't one lol but it was finger licking good. Thank you, MARCI 🥰

Excellent fries
You have to eat a unicorn burger poutine once in your life. A kind of hot hamburger but with a homemade Catalina style sauce instead of brown. Surprising but DELICIOUS. Delicious poutine: homemade fries, cheese and well-balanced sauce. Smooth and well-organized service. Quite simply a must-see on the road despite its location in an industrial park. Plan the stop its worth the detour!!!!!

I had the 12 inch licorne pizza with a small fry, and it was more than enough for 2 people. Amazing fluffy yet crispy crust and with a very respectable amount of cheese and toppings. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised as it was my first time coming. Will definitely stop by again in the future! I ordered door dash and I shouldnt have! In short, poutine delivery is not the best idea! It looks like soup when it happens. I must say, however, that it is one of the best poutine sauces I have tasted in my life. It saved everything. Ill go back to eat a fresh one in person. I believe there is strong potential for poutine to make it into my personal top 5! I also took a submarine ! The sub sauce is mayo. It s usually vinaigrette that should be there, but hey, everyone has their own tastes. The bread was very basic and soft. The pepperoni not cooked enough for my taste. It looked like it came out of the microwave and hadnt been grilled and whats more, it was cut into strips so it wasnt really a nice presentation. All garnished but no steak? I would remove it from the menu altogether. Well done for the poutine though!
The wait was a little long but reasonable. I chose the fried chicken. It was tasty, crispy skin with tender, flavorful flesh. You have exceeded my expectations exponentially. You are definitely worth the detour.
Super good popcorn chicken poutine, the fries are nice and crispy, brown sauce on top and the cheese too :)! Finally, a really good poutine as we like it. The dining room is very pretty and the toilets are clean and well cleaned. Impeccable customer service at the same time.

Good pizza. I just dont like the kind of Peperoni used . For the all-dressed poutine, I really didnt like the peppers (pronounced spicy taste and vinegary taste). Fresh, simply roasted peppers would have been much better. Otherwise, its a good snack that offers plenty of choice at a fair price.
$60 for a very large veggie with a small fries the pizza wasn t even cut and we waited 30 minutes even though we were the only customers I won t go back there again

I went for the first time to try a galvaude (Poutine with chicken and green peas). For $13 I got the smallest size and when I opened the container, to my surprise, I saw what looked like parmesan cheese on top. So I started eating only to realize that it was ground chicken, almost powdered because it was so ground up. I have never seen such finely chopped chicken before. There were about 1 or 2 tablespoons of it spread on top of the poutine. I will never take Galvaude from this place again. The fries were hot and good, Im confident the poutine should be good. Not much cheese, but the little I had was good. In summary, this galvaude, if we can call it Galvaude given the powdered chicken, was worth, in my opinion, more or less $6.

We got up with a crazy desire to eat a club sandwich to cure our terrible hangover. The unicorn therefore seemed like a logical choice before embarking on the many hours of driving towards New Brunswick. First, the welcome was colder than the river that morning. But hey, it happens, we tell ourselves. We took advantage of the few minutes of waiting to visit the sanitary facilities present (where the few points for cleanliness and atmosphere inside the business come from). Once the dish was received, we carried out a visual analysis before leaving (like, am I going to run out of mayo, salt vinegar?). My friend went to ask for some stupid looking mayo only to receive two measly packets of Hellmans (for 3 people). Get over it, were hungry, were leaving. First mistake: the club is cut into a rectangle, bruh. First bite into the long-awaited sandwich: it is as dry as my mouth when I get up. Not a drop of mayo. Not a drop of oil. No meat juice. Just a bitter disappointment. Were going to fall back on the fries we say. Too bad, they were cold, undercooked, without salt, without taste, without love, a bit like the highway which passes in front of the building. To end on a more positive note, this experience was a running gag throughout our trip and we didnt have to take a detour to get there. THANKS :)

Very disappointed... my order of a peperoni poutine, too much sauce (the taste needs to be changed) the fries were drowned in the sauce, cheese ok and I had 5 pieces of peperoni. I also ordered a chicken roll, the portion was small, it didnt overflow with a piece and there were 4 fries on it all for around $19.

The pizza is excellent but eating there brings some difficulties, the pizza is served in an aluminum bowl without plates (ordered for 2 people), the plastic utensils provided are not ideal for cutting the crust, that being said we have loved our meal.

$30 for the smallest poutine and a 10-inch pizza. The poutine was forgotten and instead of giving me the pizza before as requested, I received a poutine with undercooked fries and little cheese. The pizza was no longer hot enough. What can we say about the door that deserves to be repaired. I heard it slammed at least 10 times while I was eating. According to an employee, she has been like this for a long time.

Absolutely WOW. One of the best canteens, very clean, fast and delicious service. This is definitely one of the restaurants to make a detour when you pass by Rivière du Loup, the detour is definitely worth it, you will not be disappointed!
