I was simply amazed by the quality of the meals served. An extraordinary culinary experience. The sauces, the cooking of the dishes, even the small vegetables had a special touch. It s great gastronomy. Congratulations.

Best restaurant in Rivière du Loup by far. You pay, but you get an incredible dining experience. I ate at the bar while watching the chefs cook. They are attentive and it shows as much in the taste as in the presentation. Parking: No problem, there is plenty of room.

I was blown away by everything I ate here. It was absolutely delicious. Our waitress knew her menu well and was cheerful and courteous while having a good sense of humor. The atmosphere is both joyful and cozy. The perfect place to treat yourself to a classy meal!

OK, just WOW! What a great discovery. The menu choices are a little limited, but very high quality. The food was beyond excellent! Truly high-end gastronomy. The price is worth it. For main courses we had duck and octopus. A delight for both. For dessert, the toffee was very good. And to top it all off, on the wine list we had a white wine from Slovenia, a wine that we had been looking to find for a long time! And a 10/10 for the service. Our waitress was perfect!

Wow! My expectations were high when I booked. Achieved and exceeded! Oysters, halibut and asparagus as starters, sweetbreads and blood sausage as main course. Succulent!!! To repeat!!!

I would have liked to know that the tuna was served raw. I wasnt able to eat the tuna because, in addition to being raw, it was hot and bathed in uncooked fish water juice sprinkled with a few grains of corn. Since I barely ate anything off my plate and was still hungry, we ordered some bread which arrived with a square of candle butter with a string in the center supposed to melt it...but the butter was frozen hard, it wouldnt melt and the bread was starting to get cold... after trying to melt the butter with my knife, I realized that the butter was so salty that it was just inedible. My husband liked his cubes of blood sausage on gnocchi but for me it s really not my type of restaurant.

Summary: yes!!! In detail: a diverse menu that leaves a lot of room for local products and processors. Great choice of beers local or elsewhere in Quebec (a real sour beer is missing, but hey, the hibiscus pale ale was great!). Great cocktail choices. Creative dishes both as starters and main courses. Dont let the lack of vegetarian choices put you off: the chef is very accommodating and his fresh (homemade?) pasta is extraordinary. The Italian-Quebecois in me assures you that ! Cashew ricotta is perfect too! Arranging fresh tomatoes, cream, samphire and other secret ingredients was a very good idea, as was pairing parsnips with cream and soy-glazed veal sweetbreads. the oysters (Carleton) were just wow. And its hot sauce made from lacto-fermented red peppers? Love of a job well done and fire combined! The dishes are well presented just as recommended and served with a smile and pride. Choose to sit on the street (there is a shaded terrace): you can admire the vintage Princess Theater which still shows popular films. A tiny shadow on the board. $2 for bread and butter ok. But for 2 slices that are too small, it s sad .

It was a quality restaurant in Rivière du loup, the dishes were well constructed, with lots of flavors. I tasted a macro as a main course and a duck carpaccio as a starter. Even though Im not a fan of beets I still enjoyed the dish. What surprised me the most was the desserts, we tasted the crème brûlée, the monkey bread and the cheese pot and there was not one that disappointed me. The staff is very welcoming and knows what they are serving, my glass of white wine was very tasty. Finally, the concept of the restaurant is refined and very spacious. The kitchen being open we could see the cooks who sometimes came to deliver the dishes themselves. The menus are constantly changing which gives you the opportunity to return more often. I will come back there when I return to Rivière du loup without hesitation!

We finally tested this restaurant which received so much praise from the population of Louperivoise, we had a whiskey cocktail, a starter based on foie gras, the dish Sweetbreads with mushrooms and Brussels sprouts, the taste was unique, a flavor that you cant find anywhere in Riviere du loup, I didnt like the sweetbreads but thats just my personal opinion. The Back Door is probably the best restaurant in Riviere du Loup in terms of unique flavors and dishes.

Probably one of the best restaurants in the Lower River. Four young people, two couples, who decide to cook quality cuisine without compromise. Creative cuisine, warm and impeccable service. Try the foie gras torchon with calvados with brioche bread and a bacon-candied onion mousse. Then the sweetbreads and blood sausage or even the beef cheeks with foie gras. In short, a meal you will remember.
