I ordered a Phat thai it smelt like wet dog, it was mushy like slop, i took a few bites and told the waitress it was disgusting, and couldnt eat it, i had to pay for it anyways , i was sick after leaving the restaurant. The WORST Phat. Thai, I ever ate! DISCUSTING!!! This restaurant should be inspected!

Love ordering from here. They are friendly and food tastes great. They are usually pretty accurate when ordering on busy days. The other night was busier, so the wait time was 30 minutes longer than expected, but food was hot and tasted great.

Parking: There are holes that follow one another, they are everywhere and there is mud. Not interesting for parking. The asphalt has to be done otherwise well go elsewhere. Its regrettable.

If I could give 0 stars, thats what it was worth! I went to eat there today with my mom, we ordered a la carte, nothing we had ordered was edible! My moms chicken friend rice tasted burnt, her chicken balls tasted freezer burnt, and her vegetables spring rolls had a chemical taste like fermented cabbage. My open-ended egg rolls tasted freezer burnt, and my pad Thai was soaked in a liquidy red juice with a sour smell and taste. We also had order a combo 2b for 2, to go. Unfortunately we couldnt eat what we had in front of us. It wasnt so so but edible, it was unedible! I went to explain our uncomfortable situation, quietly in the corner outside the kitchen, but she turned around to scream in her language, to the other women, who came out asking me loudly, what my problem was, I then quietly tried to tell her but she kept raising her voice and telling me that they served food all day yesterday with no complaints! Ok thats great I said, but today we have an issue. She boldly told me: she didnt believe me and I had to pay my food! My mom spoke up and said, its not edible, its bad, we will get sick if we eat it She replied: I dont care, you have to pay. So we paid and left! We had been ordering from them for all our parties, always around 200$ plus, and my mom often stops there to eat the buffet, no issues until today! Unfortunately we will never order from there AGAIN, and we unfortunately we can not recommend them, since they did not even want to meet half way, no solutions at all, all she cared about was getting paid! She didnt care about anything, thats all she kept replying: I DONT CARE! Super sad! good luck new ruby! I donated 25,25$ My mom 11$ Total 36,25$

Unless you want to spend your night on the toilet throwing up & regretting every morsel you put in your mouth.. Avoid this place & opt for something else. A health inspector should visit this place on a regular basis.

Definitely good in a crunch. Typical American Chinese food. Pretty much the same as any other of the same type of restaurant. The restaurant itself is straight out of the 80 s and could use a renovation. Kind of grimy in places. The service is fine but nothing to rave about. The odd thing was whoever was working the counter one evening was prepping ground pork or some type of raw meat right behind the cash counter. Wouldn t say it was appealing to see nor would I think it was sanitary. However I m not an expert. Whatever the review you have limited places in Rockland and will still go back unfortunately.

Fresh made food made the way you request. This is a family run restaurant, that take pride in their food not only the presentation, but also quality, quantity and attention to making very delicious food. We love their General Toes Chicken, S & S chicken balls and Singapore Noodles. Ken and his family go out of their way to make the best Chinese food in the area.

When I call this restaurant they are always backed up 2 hours plus. Its hard to order from this place.

Do yourself a favour and drive to orleans, no good chinese restaurant in Rockland. We ordered panang beef(stiff chewy cheap steak), lemon chicken (what was that), eggroll so so. The chicken ball were good and rice was good. As for the main meal it was wasted as disgusting.

Long waits. They say 45 minutes. More like 1.5 hours on pickup. Dont mind waiting but Id rather do the waiting at home with an honest pick up time. Thats more than double and not the first time. Food is ok at best. Not worth my time or money. Im done trying.

Absolutely love this place!! We ordered the Chinese family dinner for 5 & WOW!!! We are 5 grown adults living in the house and we still had leftovers! The quality of the food is amazing as well! Definitely recommend!

Poor service. Everytime I call to order we have to hold the line for several minutes. We waited an hour and a half just to cancel our order because it was taking too long. We were told the delivery driver still hadn t picked our food up yet. By the time we left our place to go eat somewhere else after canceling our order the food showed up.

I went to Willys a few weeks ago, after i finished work. They heard me coming in, but they were busy, and after ten minutes of being ignored, i walked out and headed to Rubys, since its closer to my house anyway. I got prompt, courteous and polite service RIGHT AWAY, from this lovely woman. Thank you. I waited maybe 15 minutes for my food. It was Friday, and they were busy with delivery and take-out orders. The food was good. Just wish they were opened during the day. But I get why they arent.

Always a great meal, which is nice and hot when it arrives. They always say its about an hour wait for delivery but it usually takes less than 30 minutes to arrive. The best way to go (budget friendly wise) is to order combination plates rather than individual items.

My new favorites include general Tao and crispy beef. But everything so far is good, even the vegetables, and I dont eat vegetable, lol

Simply delicious!

Overall very poor experience. Ordered pad Thai and a wonton soup. The soup was good but wasn t that hot. Don t order the pad Thai! Tastes like noodles tossed in sweet and sour sauce. Had a couple bites and couldn t eat it anymore. On top of that when I originally called that had told me an hour wait for delivery. After an hour and a half I called back and they told me the driver was on his way back to pick up my order. Fast forward another hour, my food still wasn t here (two and a half hours after I ordered originally). Once again, called them back and they had told me the same thing. The food finally came soon after, but like I said earlier the food was not good, waste of time and money.

1 star.... I really wish I could give 0 stars. They advertise delivery but they clearly out source their delivery service to carrier pigeons. We ordered our food and it took a very reasonable 2 and a half hours for us to get our order and we only live 3 minutes from the restaurant. When the food finally arrived it was pretty good. Granted at that point I was so hungry I had contemplated eating my own arm. I guess my point is if you really love yourself, your belly and your physical well being just do yourself a favour and order take out from literally anywhere else than New Ruby House.

2 hour wait for take out. Dont tell me its an hour, when its a 2 hour wait.

Really wish I could leave a -5 star as this place is a real joke now, tells you 50min to 1 hour and have to wait 2+ hour and still have some of the order wrong and still charged me full price.

Great open end egg rolls. Combination plates can be served for 2 people. Lots of food.

Always lovely to order from here, due to gobal situation I havent had the chance to dine in in a while but when I did it was clean, well maintained, and the buffet was great. Now, you can order delivery or in-store pickup. The food is tasty, diverse, and a good price. The staff is always kind and happy to help.

We visited family in Rockland and ordered Ruby Chinese food for 4 adults. We were humming in statisfaction at every bite it was so good. Better than the chinese food weve ordered in Ottawa. We had : the chicken general Tao, spare ribs, chicken fried rice, chicken balls, Wong ton soup (generous portion), egg roll, beef and broccoli... All delicious and generously portioned. Will definitely order from them again on a future visit.

What a pleasant surprise! The dishes we had were delicious. Curry chicken, almond chicken guy ding and versatile chicken with vegetables were hot fresh and affordable. This is the go to Chinese food restaurant in Rockland.

Good food. But dont have it delivered * Waited 2 hours on a Friday for a small order delivered. When I called to check in the lady yelled and said it was leaving now. Might consider a different place next time.

I have been a fan of New Ruby House cuisine for over 10 years. I moved from Rockland to Orleans 5 years ago, and I admit that I did try some Orleans Chinese food restaurants in Orleans, but Kenny & Ann New Ruby House food is so much better, and totally worth the drive to pick it up! I usually love this place to eat. I eat it alll the time. But last night on February 13 2020 I ordered over 60$ of food and while I was serving to my family I found dead maggots in my beef with broccoli. I am beyond disgusted. I called and they wouldn t give me a refund only a free appetizer next purchase. Beyond disgusting.

We went for buffet with our kids. The hadn t refilled the items for a while and so there wasn t much selection. What was there was cold and questionable. The restaurant itself also could use a cleaning and paint job. The washrooms were unsanitary with pee on the toilet seat and broken porcelain. I definitely won t be back and would not recommend dining there. Staff was friendly though.

Fairly decent

This place was okay in food, great in atmosphere. The place is beautiful, it has nice looking lamps and it was quite and peaceful. I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce and I got shrimp with brown water. The shrimp was good but there was a great amount of that weird looking water and I was kinda disappointed. The waitress and cashier were very polite and had a great time with my friends. I should have ordered something else.

Always loved this place. I have yet to find a Chinese food joint that has food this good, we drive back to Rockland just to have this stuff

Very tasty fresh cooked meal

Updated from a one star to a 3 star. First review, I had gone to the place during advertised open hours and the place was deserted. Tried calling various times with no answer. New review: I was finally able to order from here. I got some general tao, chicken fried rice, kung pao chicken, and sweet and sour chicken balls. They forgot the sauce for the chicken balls, thats fine. I wasnt about to drive another 20min to go ask them for the sauce. The general tao was so hyped up, but fell a little flat for me. It was good, but not the best Ive ever had. Cant mess up chicken fried rice so no complaints there. As for the kung pao chicken, that was me branching out and trying something new. Safe to say I wouldnt order it again. It was maybe 20% chicken and the rest just mixed veggies. Might be my bad if I read the description of the dish wrong. Cashier was very kind, at least. But otherwise I dont particularly recommend.

By far THE most unprofessional establishment. They hardly answer the phone. (In a time where they only offer delivery and takeout) Takeout wait times are always wayyyyy over the time they initially give, with no notification that they are running behind. Which leaves a lot of customers waiting at the restaurant for half hour to an hour longer than the original pick up time. Customer service is very poor. Food is okay, they have little competition in town and think it is okay to treat customers terribly.

They have added pho to their menu! I love a great bowl of well done beef pho and I am extremely picky when it comes to their broth, so, I decided to be brave and try Ruby house Pho and I was not disappointed! It only comes in one size which seems to be a typical small sized pho, beef was extremely tender and the broth was delicious. The only gripe I had was that they only have the beef brisket with beef balls and I am not a fan of the beef balls so I just ended up taking them out. Word to the restaurant, offer it without the beef balls. I also decided to try their pad Thai, now, my favourite is the one from Thi Fusion on hunt club (ate there often when I lived in Ottawa) and was reluctant to try this one... it s ok. The pad Thai sauce that is used is flavourful, however, the full sized peanuts on top were a little much, I think they should be shaved or even just crushed would be better! The pad Thai needs some dimension too, it only comes with chicken. It would be great if they offered it with Chinese pork and used some colourful green onions and thin spears of carrots to make it more appealing and more flavour dimensions! These are merely suggestions, I hope the owners read them and take them into consideration. Otherwise, I have no complaints, great for the price!

Worst Chinese food I ve ever had in my life I discourage people to eat this garbage I thought this would be delicious like the Ruby King that was in Orleans but boy was I wrong! I would give it 0 Stars if I could! Go to Maison De Xin down the street much better food and service!

My deepest apologies. Im sooooo embarrassed. I had this place confused with an Ottawa take-out of the same name. This New Ruby House, in Rockland, is a humble family restaurant with a small, but highly adequate and decent buffet, at a decent price. Your Chicken Soo-Guy was mouth-watering, and the staff were relaxed and personable.

Very poor first experience. Ordered takeout, told to come in half hour. Got there on time, waited for another 45 minutes. Guy at the cash took my number at least four times to check and would tell me its almost done everytime. Got home and found that they had not given us the free chicken fried rice. At this point, I was not going back. Food is mostly soaked in sauce, and chicken chowmein had traces of chicken. They have no competition, so I guess business will continue as it is.

I placed three items for takeout order: Cantonese chow mein, Singapore noodles and Shrimp with mixed vegetables. I was told it would be ready in half an hour. When I arrived there was one couple finishing up their buffet dinner and paying. I payed for my order in advance and continued to wait.... a total of an hour and 15minutes from when I placed my it was finally ready. I expressed my disappointment as I exited; This isn t the first time this has happened, but it will be my last time ordering from here. I ll have to opt to the one down the street Maison Xin... or resort to Orléans.

Excellent buffet

Everything is pretty good and fresh, staff is always super friendly and service is great. Any issues are quickly resolved. Great location, parking can be a challenge if busy.
