I arrived at 7:55 p.m. I said good evening with a big smile. NO RESPONSE... I ordered a white mocha, but only received a glass of milk. I came right back and tried to speak with the two employees inside to correct their mistake, but they refused to open the door for me and ignored me despite making eye contact. September 18, 2024.

This afternoon I went to order myself a fruit salad and a glass of water with a wrap that I brought from home. An employee came to see me and spoke to me very rudely, telling me to leave the restaurant because of my wrap. I understand that eating food that does not come from this same restaurant can be frowned upon and even disrespectful. I work in a restaurant. But there are ways to address things and a more polite way. I understand that as a teenager traders can be more stirct but I had bought food and maybe worked on respect because even after what the lady had told me I remained respectful and I didnt eat my wrap anymore otherwise I had to eat it outside in the cold. Thank you for understanding

Cosy place for a coffee break or a quick meal

Late one Sunday afternoon, it was difficult to find a place to relax with my parents over tea or herbal tea. Everything seemed to be closed in the network of cozy cafes. Should we blame schedule cuts due to the pandemic? Regardless, my research led me to choose Café Van Houtte, an established and renowned chain. I quickly felt that the welcome was more or less courteous and disinvested; my almost unwanted good nature. My order was executed in slight chaos and confusion reigned even though there were obviously no new customers apart from us, and I must point out: we were thirty minutes from closing. I hoped that that was all, alas, herbal tea, coffee and pastries were placed randomly on a dirty counter soaked in stagnant milk, despite the blue rag which was just waiting to wipe everything with the back of the hand. . The atmosphere at the café was rather calm and the weather gloomy. Coming from the restaurant industry myself, I assume that bad days, lack of food, labor or experience are disadvantages affecting the quality of the work. My herbal tea was able to soothe me despite everything, after a day of intense caffeine. The chairs and tables were inviting and comfortable, the clientele full of life and happy to be under the charming roof of Café Van Houtte. Maybe Ill go back there one day.

For some time now I have found it really disappointing with my orders. I always order a caramel espresso parfait and I never get the same recipe. At the end of the week, I made it again and even more heat than before, its just caramel and every other time I put no caramel, no whipped cream. At the price it costs, it would be fun to have a coffee that tastes like what you order.

Usually, its a must-see during my stays in Rouyn-Noranda. But on my last visit, I was very disappointed. My mocha tasted like water. The two young girls at the counter didnt seem to understand my order... A mocha coffee with espresso. It might be good to review the recipes with them... Too bad

The atmosphere is always very warm at Van Houtte! The employees are helpful and very sociable. You can ask them questions about the products and they will be able to answer you efficiently. The wifi network is satisfactory and we dont bother you to consume. You can just come to enjoy the atmosphere with your cell phone without necessarily consuming. A+

I have a full breakfast or meal there about 2 to 3 times a week before or after my work shift or while passing through the large library located right next door. The products served are great. I never tire of two-choice or three-choice salads (Kinoa, lentils, chickpeas), hot soups and soups with asparagus or other vegetables as well as the very delicious chocolate-banana coated in Nutella and Nutella croissants. drizzled on top. As I wait discreetly while waiting for my colleagues and sit on the high bar chairs just to the left as I enter the café, she very quickly tells me to leave because Miss, this is reserved for consumers. What fly has bitten this woman? What inconsistency! (not to mention anything else). A complete break from the rest of the waiters and waitresses every day who operate behind the counter, are adorable and always have a kind word. To tell the truth, there were quite a few times when it cooled me to know that she was serving alone behind the counter in times of low traffic just to motivate me and go and give her an order. Sometimes I even let my turn pass so as not to run into her, you never know that Ill be spoken to badly once again.
