I was expecting something with more of a quality culinary experience seeing as the hotel is a 5 star experience. Unfortunately the food is over priced and lacking in flavor and quality. The service on the other hand is top notch and helps saves it from being a bad experience. There are a lot more local restaurants that offer a better quality at a lower price. Do not recommend.
A nice place with great service and atmosphere! The food was good but not great. Particularly, the wild mushroom ravioli were unimpressive. We all liked the appetizers though!
No Quebec wines and only one Quebec beer on the menu.
Food was good but very pricy. Beef tartare was the only thing worth the price. Octopus salad was ok but serving was so small for price. Service was okay. Nothing great but not bad. $21 for a large glass of wine and $16 for a Cesar. Food needed salt and pepper and we weren’t offered either. We had to ask. I would go back for beef tartare.

The place is very nice in term of interior design, the menu is diversified but just enough, there is no chicken for exemple, the plates are delicious but not the mini burgers and finally the service is good, covid19 measures are seriously taken, it is recommended
I asked what was the choice of free drink that comes with the room. Cocktails on the menu or a very small choice of beer/wine. Once sit : Things explained to me at the entrance changed, just simple cocktails, not those on the menu. Guess I should have read because the staff was wrong. Got served a 1/2 glass full of pur low quality gin and tonic. (I asked for choices : only Tanqueray) Then I got told that I needed to buy a main course to be able to enjoy my free drink. Even choosing an entree pricier than a main course won't save you. The menu is very expensive and pretty simple. All the show on high quality pieces of meat whitout work in the plates. (Ex : Big cut steamed vegetables, no salt, no butter, no love) The place is all for your eyes. Very nice and catchy decorations. More employees than clients with the place half full. Have less doing nothing and more quality ones that can serve good basics drinks at least ? Put some love in the plates. Switch some of the huge amount of alcohol for quality ones and good tonics instead ? A very good place to waste large amounts of money on pricy meat and wines.
It tastes good but its really expensive, our group being 12 we didnt have the option of taking the regular menu, the only option is the table dhôte at $84 per person before tax/tip (so $115 per person) Vegetarian options: No vegetarian option on the table dhôte
My favorite restaurant for food. But unfortunately, for a group of 12 people, we were not entitled to the à la carte menu and were obliged to take the table dhôtes even though the restaurant was not very busy. Note that it was for a birthday and not during the holiday season. So I strongly advise against going there for your group events.
Just like that of Sherbrooke, the b fish is undoubtedly one of the best, or the best restaurant in the city of Saguenay. If you go to this restaurant and you like it stop looking this is the place. Oysters, scallops, sirloin steaks are big musts. The person is professional and very very friendly. I arrived 15 minutes before closing and was served a memorable meal. Me and my wife are here for a special reason: to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. In summary: its not much... The atmosphere is too black, the main dishes are OK, nothing extraordinary. The remark remains for the desert. A very good Cheese Cake. The service of the civil servants too: quite ordinary for the price! By the way, the famous irritant of the machine which offers you the tipping options of 15%, 18% and more. Note that in Quebec, tip percentages are BEFORE TAXES, so the 15% given in a $100 bill at the credit/debit card machine will actually be $32 +-, and not the $15 because taxes are already included in the invoice.

The atmosphere, the decor, the tables, chairs are very good, everything stands out. The August table dhôte according to the choices I made was so-so. The Salmon Ingot starter: nothing more. The grilled veal chop was stolen by the caramelized root vegetables, and there was no more Caramel Pecan Brownie the sweet treats thus offered... worthy of a Chinese buffet. Its expensive overall. I would have made other choices and perhaps the price would have been worth it. Overall its a nice restaurant.

Cuisine: The food was excellent and very tasty. I had the Porterhouse, a plate for two and it was a very good portion and more than enough! I love seeing the cooks at work, you can see that all the work surfaces were maintained and clean. Of course the service wasnt the fastest, but the wait was totally worth it! Service: The waiter who took care of us was extraordinary, he presented the menu and explained it to us. We had a presentation of all the meats available. When receiving our food, the waiter served us our pieces on our plate, it was an impeccable experience! The menu was very clear and everything looked delicious. Atmosphere: Everything is well maintained, its incredible to be around. You can see that the staff takes care of the restaurant and their customer. Like any amazing experience, the toilets are also impressive. I found it nice to be able to look at a screen while urinating, the negative point is that we have it next to our face and it is very unpleasant to have it so close.
It was super good I had the foie gras starter which was delicious... then the 7 oz filet mignon with mashed potatoes and vegetables of the moment it melted in the mouth and what about the dark chocolate mousse dessert I am delighted from start to finish
A carnivorous experience like no other! My partner and I shared a starter of beet salad and goat cheese, then a Porterhouse steak, with garnished potato and grilled asparagus. Everything, absolutely everything, was delicious, we enjoyed it again. We were advised and served by a charming waiter, Vincent, who has perfectly mastered the art of being just enough present, available and discreet at the same time. Dietary restrictions: Exemplary attitude towards dietary restrictions. There were 4 of us, including one who has a long list of allergies (soy, nuts, several vegetables), a situation to which the server was very attentive. We noted and verified in the kitchen that allergens were not included in the composition of the dishes chosen and proposed changes which ultimately did not prove necessary but which nevertheless demonstrated all the goodwill and flexibility of the staff. Hat!

You want to bite into some meat, this is the place! Smiling service from Ariane. Comfortable place and nicely appointed place The cocktails are good, the wine list for all tastes. The tomahawk arrives on the table... The cooking of the meat, nothing to complain about, extra quality and generous, the extra mushrooms are in quantity and very good. The puree is fluid, it is well seasoned but I would give a B- for the vegetables which accompany the piece of beef...crunchy vegetables certainly but not at all seasoned...on top of each other...they are sad in the mouth and frankly not interesting.. the pepper sauce I have mixed feelings about the fact that it is homemade, it reminds me of BERTHELET But in any case, it would be sacrilege to sauce a piece so well cooked and so good. Boefish! You know your meat! You manage the cooking and your service is cute! But your vegetables need to be loved more! If I will go back? Certainly !

Perfect for a romantic dinner or an evening with friends. Located in the OTL Saguenay hotel, its nice to be able to eat so well at the hotel. The restaurant offers virtually the same menu for room service.
Atmosphere, decor, service, comfort, bathroom = A1. I suggest you prioritize meat because the cooking and flavors are exceptional. The presentation of the plates could be improved. Aside from the meat and the exceptional cooking method, its a bit expensive...

I m shocked by some who have reviewed it poorly. This restaurant was fantastic! I went twice on back to back days. The food was delicious (if you go, get the veal. It is amazing), the service was amazing, the ambiance was excellent. My husband and I had an amazing time. Definitely a fancy and pricey restaurant, but totally worth it!

Our recent dining experience at Boefish restaurant in Chicoutimi was simply incredible. We chose this restaurant for a post new year celebration night with friends and we were not disappointed. For the foie gras, steak and lobster thermidor, we chose the Fontanafredda Barolo 2018. This Italian red wine was a perfect choice to complement the delicious dishes. The foie gras was rich and creamy, perfect to start the evening. The steak was juicy and tender, cooked to perfection. The lobster thermidor, on the other hand, was an explosion of flavors and textures in the mouth. I decided to have something different and opted for the tomahawk with foie gras, shrimp and asparagus. The cut of meat was incredibly tender, juicy and packed with flavor. The foie gras and shrimp added an extra touch of delicious flavor and the asparagus was crisp and fresh. For accompaniment, we chose a bottle of Brunello Di Montalcino 2017 for dessert. The full-bodied red wine added extra depth and richness to our dining experience. The restaurant decor was welcoming and comfortable. The service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff who made our evening a memorable experience. Overall, I highly recommend Boefish Restaurant for an exceptional evening of fine dining. The meat dishes were fantastic and the wines were well matched. As you already know, I have more of a sweet tooth than the average bear and this time I let myself be tempted by this restaurant. Not all restaurants that are attached to a hotel are a guarantee of excellence. This one is excellent. The service is courteous, the menu is varied and the only downside is that they advertise their desserts with Häagen-Dazs ice cream and it is not Häagen-Dazs. I was disappointed to see that the price of my apple pie remained the same. I am greedy and this gluttony means that I can criticize this element. Please ladies and gentlemen correct the situation or remove it from the menu. Otherwise enjoy your meal.

Really a nice, clean restaurant with a nice ambiance. The service is impeccable and what can we say about the food, just excellent! We had the leek velouté and mushroom ravioli as a starter. I had the beef tartare with a side of bacon mac N cheese. The tartare was good like any traditional tartare, but the mac N cheese is really underrated! Really tasty and delicious for a slight extra of $15. Had I known I would have taken it as a starter. My partner had the sweets for dessert. They were light and very good. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!

OMG seriously my favorite restaurant in Saguenay. The gourmet meals are extremely high quality with the mirror above the kitchen making us salivate with the arrival of our plate. The price is comparable to the quality.
Excellent haute cuisine restaurant for carnivores. Presentation of the platter of meats aged at least 40 years, possibility of sharing pieces of meat, really our favorite is the Tamahack to share between two. A delight for the palate. The ravioli as a starter are delicious. However, the Caesar salad sauce is not adequate, the taste needs work in my opinion. I made the comment to the waitress. The wine list is superb. Grand Cru Saint-Émillion, Pope s new castle, etc. They even have private rooms, really, I couldnt ask for better, thanks to the whole Boefish team for our memorable evening!

An agreable place with good service and good food. Almost excellent in every aspect. Saumon tartar was acceptable, the tomahawk excellent.
4 visits to the OTL (hotel connected to the restaurant). No time has the restaurant been able to accommodate us, they are always fully booked They should keep a few tables unavailable for reservations for those at the hotel wanting to come and have a drink or eat after a long trip.

(Review of a group of 4 with 4 different dishes) **There is already an opinion which very well reflects our appreciation #Max Fournier Most: .building/place decor/furniture/bar/very classy cellar .Atmosphere, music, personal clothing, politeness But..... For people who have visited others .Modest wine list (lack of wow factor for a classy restaurant) .We recalled our aperitifs twice (forgotten??) . Had to cancel 2nd bottle of wine yet request in the middle of the meal arrived when tlm had finished waiting for dessert. .Plate great presentation too bad but nothing wow in taste (4 different) for a restaurant of this class and price should have a wow in the palette of flavors not found elsewhere, my fish Bar bland and..... Half cold In short, beautiful and good restaurant but for a class of this kind it should be impeccable and the reference (other places in Chic are at -$$) But I highly recommend ;-)

This is my second time to this restaurant. The first time was great, with a demo of the cuts and their characteristics. That is gone. They do not put bread, butter or water like in most restaurants. We were not even asked even though we first drank beer and then wine, bread was a most to clean the palate. The food was good, though not great. The only thing that you should not forget is your money and the TIP, because the server might come and demand that you give them a 20% tip or more even if your bill exceeds 500 CAD, which it will for 4 persons easily. I was embarrassed in front of my guest, since she did not even care to call me apart and ask if I was not satisfied, but asked me in front of my guests and demanded a higher tip. This is the most embarrassed I have been in a resto in my life. I will not go there again of course. Go there at your own risk.

We went for dinner on Saturday October 1st, there were 6 of us, everything was excellent, served by 2 very nice young men. The only problem with all this was that we had 2 birthdays, mine and that of my sister-in-law, my partner specified this to the waiter and denied, disappointment for our partners.

I thank the restaurant for its availability despite our delay, on October 18 for a group of 30. We arrived very, very just before the kitchens closed. However, the restaurant received us very well and we had an excellent time. The food was good although a little expensive for the quantity. However, the quality was there so if I ever come back to the region I know where to go and eat!
They sold us the special oven for cooking meat, for which they have the patent. The meat was dry and overcooked. I had to chew all evening. The server was very nice and helpful.
We went for a good lunch on a Wednesday especially for me to eat a RibYes no Rib that evening, starter of foie gras pois 2 times as big as a $2 at $26.00 no wine, 2 beers, a false filet of pasta for my wife at 18% tip for $260.00 not sure i will return.

Quality - VERY ordinary price Very trendy and elegant decor. Nice idea of corner mirrors to have a direct view of the kitchen. Direct access to the hotel which is practical. Kind staff. ON THE HOWEVER** no taste wow for the prices on the menu... Raviolis (7 units) really small portion, pasty sauce, no taste... Extra grilled asparagus ok but nothing more. Seared tuna (tataki style) served on salad: bland vinaigrette (almost non-existent), a few pieces of salad, tomatoes and tasteless cold potatoes. Tuna without any marinade, spices or sauce... Grocery store display quality cheesecake. We walked out with a $200 bill and were still hungry. Very disappointed... We had high expectations but were not at all won over.
The food is good, its not extraordinary but its good. Little work to be done on the accompaniments side in my opinion.

Big disappointment for me. A 12oz strip steak that looked more like a 10oz. For a $68 plate, I would have liked to have vegetables on my plate, I had a vegetable decoration instead. No searching and marking in mashed potatoes. A loveless sachet sauce in the most standard imaginable way, in no way worthy of a great restaurant. A standard strip steak, no better than what you find at the grocery store. I paid $68 for a plate that was worth no more than $35. I think they should review their vision of support.

I was disappointed when I found out that restaurant was full. However, I ordered food to be delivered to my hotel room and I have to say, it was really worth it. Food was delicious and in good portions. I hope next time Ill be able to try the dinning room and check the restaurant ambiance.

This comment I hope will be taken constructively. This restaurant has a decor worthy of large hotels, but a wine list that would not make St-Hubert BBQ jealous, with I believe no privately imported wine, and few cocktails available (no sommelier on site or mixologist , the waitress cant pronounce the bottle of wine for example). A menu with little taste (and no, it s not by adding salt), and what s more, very ordinary service. (No water to welcome us, no taste when buying wine, we just fill the cup.) For a bill of more than $200 for two I can recommend several restaurants in the Montreal and Quebec region where the experience will be incredible and this restaurant is unfortunately not up to par. Hoping that the problem is a lack of staff due to covid. In short, a beautiful container without content.

Very good service received, nice comfortable place. On the other hand, I didnt like the duck wings, nor my steak, nor my boyfriends ocean burger. The fries were crunchy and tasty. However, my boyfriend really liked my steak.

Super good restaurant..Wow! First visit and not the last. Very nice menu, beautiful atmosphere and what can we say about Audreys service...so kind, we could detect her smile despite her Covid-related mask. We are from Sherbroke and we didnt have the chance to try it but we will go soon.

I highly recommend this restaurant, the service was extremely professional, they have a meat presentation to help you choose which certainly elevates their restaurant. It was nice to sit in front of the kitchen and see the chefs at work. I had the lobster which was undoubtedly one of the best I have eaten, presentation and quality. Truly a pleasant experience and I would definitely return. - I highly recommend this restaurant, their service was extremely professional, they have a meat presentation to help you choose. Very good restaurant. We loved the experience sitting on the edge of the kitchen with the chef who took the time to explain the dishes to us. What can I say about oysters hmmm. Nice bar also with a nice selection of drinks. The only downside is not enough local products
Worst dining experience ever, My business partner invited us there for a meeting, telling us he gets royale treatment, but i guess when you dont speak French they treat you like garbage, i didnt say anything to be polite, not a single glass of water was offered, 30 min passed before anyone offered services, not a single waitress knew how to speak English (hard to believe for that kind of establishment) I could say more ,but I think you guys know what Im saying. So if you dont speak French, stay away from that place .
We ate there on 2 occasions during our visit to Saguenay this week. Very nice menu with just enough choice, A1 service, steak with divine blue cheese and very good cocktails. Note that the ceiling of part of the kitchen has hanging mirrors which allow us to see the cooks at work, its very interesting but its a little less so when we see a man who seems to be the manager (who works on the service side) dipping his hand into a container, over the serving hatch, to pick out a cherry tomato. I am aware that actions like these unfortunately often occur in many kitchens, but I think you should be more vigilant! Despite this, we will return there during our next visit to Saguenay!
Service, location, interior, ambiance were amazing. Food was great too, but there the meat arrived - and it was a burnt to ashes (ok on the side only), which was a shame as it seemed to be their specialty , also THEY PUT ICE IN OUR COGNAC! (Shaking head emoji)
Delicious and congratulations you are open late... we came from a ready hotel that closed at 9 p.m.
