Since its been bought over , the quality of food has gone down. Coleslaw wilted no taste , Chaumiere salad no taste and the side sauce with steak horriable.
We went for steak dining and service from the server was very not up to par right away. We were not satisfied with the steak and right away asked return one of the steaks and server was not helping . The server Pointed the steak almost touching it. Saying the steak would be better in center if he keep eating it Had to argue and request the manager as the server did not wanted to return it Suppose to be high end service. Made it clear that it is not…. Very inappropriate servers and service. The only reason we gave it 2 stars it was for the manager service, she was good …. We will never return or recommend Speaking English customers discriminated I’m ashamed that I took my husband there as it’s my hometown and expected the service we had before. Very disappointing we will never return It’s black listed now
First time there and it will not be our last. This is a nice intimate restaurant with amazing service and great tasting food. Steak was cooked to perfection.

Great restaurant, best steak in the area. Returned almost a year after, what a joy to share a great meal with family and friendsl. The steak is absolutely incredible, their seafood dishes are also delightful. Great ambiance and great service, best meal have had at a restaurant this year.
OMG, The best steak ever! The filet is wonderful (always) and the service is great. Many options for the sides or extras, wonderful selection of wines, and quiet romantic or business meeting appropriate atmosphere. Harder to find English spoken here on some nights but not been a problem. Highly Recommend a visit the next time that you are in the area.
It's above average quality, service is ok the meat is good but definitely not the best I had. All in all in the area that is the best you can get but the proper ratio price /quality is not there. Bread is served cold, the plates they serve your meal in are not heated. Either, you will ask for RARE and you will get medium rare you ask for medium you will get well cook
Best Steakhouse in the lanaudiere area. Seating is limited and tight but worth it when you get to see your steak grilled inside a wood fireplace right before your eyes! Reservations definitely recommended.

Very little flavor. Ridiculous onion soup. No gratin with a big ball of cheese in the bottom. Fully garnished potato that didnt taste much. Extremely salty vegetables!!! The worst filet mignon I have ever eaten. The meat was pale and flavorless. The latter was surrounded by a piece of bacon like in a Greek skewer. Way too expensive for what they offer...

My favorite restaurant is losing more and more points Im going to start with our starters my husband escargot with garlic not gratinated he has to look for garlic butter I entered garlic bread not gratinated no garlic either barely a drop on each bread and barely toasted The chef must have run out of garlic butter Dinner my husband excellent sirloin steak, super hash browns Me filet mignon 5 ounces perfect BUT baked potato yeurk soaked in water, should be started in the microwave in my opinion What can I say about the béarnaise sauce OR your excellent béarnaise, in any case not on my plate and moreover a half-filled mini cup And if I want to think of the cottage from another era where the square of butter is on the cute one ON THE OTHER HAND, IMPECCABLE SERVICE
Its not the cottage, that I knew in the past it changed a lot our steak was not cooked properly and a small cup of béarnaise and load plus there are other restaurants better and cheaper. But we had very good service from our waitress. And they didnt have the desserts of caramel upside down cream or beautiful Hélène pear and my baked potato wasnt cooked enough. And the girls are dressed more for a brasserie than the value of the old cottage.
It was our first time yesterday and everything was really delicious the filet mignon tartare a marvel in the mouth and the filet mignon with the chumichuri sauce really delicious what can I say about the bloody Caesar la chaumiere just wow the service really very satisfied not the last time I Were going to go for sure, the plates are very generous :)
Very good service from the waitress! Good food but very expensive compared to equivalent restaurants! Disappointing shrimp cocktail at $21 on the other hand very hard to chew, you expect cream when you pay $21! No music in the restaurant its a bit cold! But all the same, a nice little find in our city!

arrived without reservation, a place was made for us on the spot! The best steak tasted in a long time, perfect cooking, seasoning does not mask the taste of the meat! finally a rare, really cooked rare and a steak that tastes like steak and not pepper on a bed of overcooked meat on the outside and blue on the inside like in other places.
Big disappointment! Excellent food after 1.5 hours of waiting for our skewers and warm vegetables. We had to ask to reheat our plates, it was done but they changed the vegetables and they had fewer, however the wine was served in less than 10 minutes... Courteous and welcoming service. A classic filet mignon in Joliette since 1972. Although I didnt go there when it opened , I was able to eat there several times. Always satisfied.

I dont go to eat at this restaurant (I have a meat-free menu) but I buy the bottled vinaigrette from La Chaumière which is excellent, so good and tasty.

For the price of asparagus as a starter, I dont recommend it. Beef Bourgi is onions in vinegar?? Never seen that. $250 for 2 people (with wine and aperitif) there are other restaurants that offer more generous portions and for less money. I tried but I dont think twice.

La fille du propriétaire est venue voir et cest tout. Pas d excuse, pas de réduction même si je men foutais,pas d offre de nettoyage de vêtements. Bonne soirée Alain. First time there and it was great.
Not too bad of a steakhouse, but the quality is pretty basic. Lots of fat in the fillet, not much research and originality with a tasteless béarnaise sauce. Service-wise, it was good, but the hostess had an air of disgust all evening which seemed strange and unwelcoming to me.

Fantastic atmosphere, wonderful ambience and delicious food! We chose this restaurant on the recommendation of friends, to celebrate my mother and father-in-laws wedding. Theyre in their eighties, it was so cute. The owner of the restaurant was very accommodating when I asked for a view of the hearth, the place where the meat is prepared, as my future father-in-law insisted on. The owner was incredibly pleasant and accommodating. Thank you so much for making this evening special. The food was excellent and the service exceptional.

It looks like a plate from Casa Greque. Come to think of it, for the price, its better at Casa Greque. Overrated restaurant.

It was an incredible dining experience from start to finish. A place that me and my wife recommend. Several establishments claim to call themselves good steakhouses. Here the proximity of the chef demonstrated to us the experience of the choice of cut and the impeccable execution. The access to the charcoal oven and the nice discussions with the chef were much appreciated throughout the meal. A big thumbs up to the staff! We didnt lack anything.
The filet mignon is perfect. We really enjoyed dinner. If I can allow myself just one negative point but its a personal opinion, the little oil lamp on the table really smells like oil . Despite this, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I loved this place. Very friendly, warm atmosphere. The steak melts in your mouth and the accompaniments seem to come straight from the garden. The menu is varied, there is something for everyone. Fish, seafood etc.

Nous avons bien mangé, les steaks étaient excellent, cuisson parfaite. Jai été séduite par par la sauce servie avec les crevettes. Vous perdez côté service... Nous navons pris ni apéro ni entrée ni vin... et on a du attendre 45 min pour avoir notre repas. Des clients (2 tables) arrivés après nous ont eu leur entrée et leur repas avant nous.

Impeccable service from our waitress. As for the food, it was not a great experience for us. For around forty years we have been going there from time to time and everything was always perfect. Yesterday April 4, 2019 the entries were correct. For the main courses, I had the surf & turf Filet mignon with shrimp but the shrimp were not edible. I spent part of the evening wondering if I was going to vomit in the toilet. My Monté Chirsto potato was lukewarm. The steaks we ordered medium seignant were blue and cold. Cold and/or warm accompanying vegetables. Very disappointed and we will not return. .

Je ne suis pas satisfait du tout mon filet de doré , goûtait le fond de jus de chaloupe. Le riz avait tellement de thym que je nais rien mangé . Et mon épouse sont filet mignon était même pas tendre. Nous avons aviser nôtre serveursse qui à aviser la gérante qui na rien fait du tout. Pour nous Cest la premier fois et la dernière. Bonne chance à vous.
The service was excellent, varied dishes accompanied by vegetables and a baked potato as well as béarnaise sauce. Additionally, they sell beer and wine either by the bottle or by the glass. For dessert there is a dessert menu otherwise they offer a dessert of the day which varies according to the seasons. When we went it was a fruit pancake with maple sabayon
