The restaurant was a great discovery. The food is excellent, the service friendly and professional. We were served by Marie-Eve who welcomed us warmly and took good care of us throughout the meal. The chef-owner was able to accommodate my food allergy and make our evening a memorable experience. She even came to our table twice to speak with us, which she did with every customer at the restaurant that evening. We will return to this restaurant without hesitation the next time we are in Edmundston.

Great food and great service. The only negative was that it was too crowded.

The meal was delicious. I had the sirloin which is one of the best I have eaten. My girlfriend had the lamb. The lamb portion could have been a little larger, but was still reasonable. The meal came with an appetizer (a mini mushroom soup which was excellent) followed by a very good salad. The sauces and accompaniments with the main dishes were also excellent. My girlfriend also had a snail starter which she enjoyed. The only downside, and its personal, was that we found that the dishes came together too quickly. Around 1h15, everything was settled, even the bill. We would have preferred to take our time... To mention (which we did not do) at the start of the meal and we are sure that they will adapt. In short, an incredible meal and courteous service. About $140 for 2 with tip. No alcohol and dessert. Its expensive, but at restaurant prices now, the quality was there.

Good, unpretentious cuisine. Everything was good. We appreciated the chefs surprise which was a mini mushroom soup. The trout is very good but the carrots which come from frozen products and which are served in all the restaurants in the region I would avoid putting them on such a good plate. There are so many good seasonal vegetables. The service is impeccable, warm and the place is pretty and relaxing. The owner Chantal is friendly and takes care of her customers. The chocolate fondant is to die for. Prices are reasonable. Thanks for the relaxed vibe and atmosphere. We had a lot of fun.

A favorite for this establishment! A happy mix of simplicity and distinction! We were filled with hearts, stomachs and eyes! Lovely place! Hidden Gem. Its a definite step above The Keg, Mr Mikes etc. Great Seafood Menu and Fantastic Steaks. The Atlantic Chowder and the Surf and Turf were The Best we have ever had. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. This place requires reservations. French first language staff but no issues ordering and asking questions as staff are bilingual. I ate at Rittenhouse restaurants in Philadelphia, the Ritz Carlton in Montreal, at Europaa, Gordon Ramseys restaurant in Atlantic City, and several others. I confirm that Chantal Steakhouse in Edmunston is of the same caliber of cuisine. And the service offered by Jennifer (our waitress) and/or the welcome offered by Mathieu (the host) were perfect. This is a great restaurant to discover.

I blame myself, I forgot the 3rd rule of dining: Dont order seafood at a steakhouse. I was shocked that they covered the scallops and shrimp in cheese and baked them into oblivion. The fish was also overcooked but had a good sauce. Learn from my mistake, the steaks at the next table looked excellent.

Every year we stop in Edmundston on our return trip to Ontario from Nova Scotia for the sole purpose of dining at Chantal s. It is so worth the added hotel expense for this experience. The service and food are second to none. Definitely check it out!!

Probably the best restaurant in the area. Both the lamb and steak were great. Just be prepare if you ask for anything between rare and medium it s going to be over cooked. I asked the waitress for rare and explicitly said It should only be pan seared, I wanted it red. Rare came back as a medium but the meat had great flavor and wasn t dry so I didn t want to upset my guests, I keep it. The other medium rare steak was also served as well done/ medium well. They might want step up their game in the dessert area. Considering the quality of the restaurant the desserts weren t up to par. (The table had all 4 dessert options) Overall great restaurant, I d go again but I d skip dessert. Connecticut Traveler

And by the way its magnificent. Oh, and by the way you are started with a lovely little truffle broth. Wonderful!!. Take a very special person to this tastefully decorated restaurant. Last but not least; the menu is a delight from great steaks to wonderful seafood. The price also wont make you faint.

My husband and I were there for supper this past summer and we absolutely loved the food, the experience, the service. Everything was just perfect for a special date night. My husband had the ribeye and I had the filet mignon. We are planning another date night this weekend and cant wait to go back to our favourite date night restaurant. Chantal Steak House!!! #1

My husband asked me to choose a restaurant as we were traveling through New Brunswick, home to Nova Scotia. We stopped in to Chantal Steak house without a reservation and were greeted by a very friendly waitress. A table was quickly prepared for us and we were seated. The restaurant itself has a beautiful atmosphere and is very nicely done. We were served a starter of homemade mushroom soup and then a house salad with warm bread and tomato butter. Then our meal came. it was plated so well and everything looked so appetizing and looks were certainly not deceiving!!! This meal, the service and the entire experience were EXCEPTIONAL!! The owner even came out and went to different tables checking to see how their meal was! I was blown away and stuffed beyond belief I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to EVERYONE!!

Despite her hard day she came to meet me at my request. Despite some I am not an important person or rich. She welcomed me and my boyfriend at closing time and prepared a delicious SOUP FROM HER OWN RECIPES, HOMEMADE BREAD. AND SHE CAME TO SIT AND CHAT WITH US. EVERYTHING WAS VERY GOOD, RELAXING AND FELT WELCOME. SOME HAVE GOING TO RETURN THERE AND ADVISE TO AND ALL THOSE WHO KNOW AND TOURISTS. The audacity of the decoration surprised me a little, but the quality is there. Ideal for spending a good evening with friends or colleagues. Chantal is an extraordinary hostess.

Yes, you can grill a steak - but thats about it. The fish trio was inedible and the side dishes were bland. The service isnt exactly attentive either. Shortly after I informed the staff about my allergy, I was given an appetizer that contains exactly this - an absolute no-go. I only tried two bites from my plate and there was no request. Its too expensive for that. If you want a steak and an IPA you can go, but you might as well leave it alone.

Very very good but its wrong to be in a hurry 1h 1h.5 wrong give your place the people who have reserved arrive and ask you to eat and the waiters dont tell you that the table is reserved!!!!!!

I entered in the restaurant and first thing I noticed, smell clean, looks clean so good you could eat of the floor. Ambiance and decor make you feel like a very distinguished person. The waitress was very polite and full of attentions. During the dinner, she discreetly came 4 times to fill up our glass of water and make sure everything stayed perfect. She never interrupted us while we were talking and I appreciate such professionalism. The chef gave us, to my opinion, the best fillet mignon I ever had in my entire life!!! It was melting in my mouth. At on point in the dinner the chef came to see us to get feedback on the dish and again I felt very appreciated as a client. I could keep on and describe my dish in 4 pages of notes and it wouldnt be enough to cover it. I went to the bathroom at the end before I leave and again, bathroom was spotless!!! They make you feel like a king and they take pride treating you like it. They had to roll me out the door!!! I was so full!!! Under 60$ getting a meal like this!!!! Unbelievable!!!! I will recommend this steakhouse in a heartbeat. Believe me it worth every penny.

DeLIGHTful surprise! Online description said cozy and casual so we walked in with a 2.5 yr old and a 3-mo old after long travelling day. So much glassware on the white-covered tables, very stately decorated...stay or go? Wait staff made us feel very comfortable (removing much of the glassware), highchair and NEW colouring book/markers to keep for little one. No liquour license, but could bring your own wine, which, fortunately, my daughter stocked up in Ontario before we left...corking fee? Not 20$ like in Halifax, $1.10 per person...$2.20 extra for our nice, delicious wine. She brought an amuse-bouche in a very small bowl of mushroom bisque topped with a rosette of real cream. Omgoodness... incredible. Small spring mix salad with sparse/but enough poppy seed dressing...Great. Brought out, unbidden, a plastic plate of veggies, crackers and cheese for little one as we said we would just share our meals. Then came oven roasted French breads with roasted red pepper butter rosettes...who comes up with this? Excellent! We shared appetizers of escargots and scallops, both done to perfection in to-die-for sauces (wish we hadnt eaten all the bread). I had a seafood crêpe, small scallops/trout pieces in rich sauce, daughter had filet mignon, a bit over the medium rare order but unbelievably tender. Incredible Mothers Day treat...looking forward to going again in August!!

A beautiful, delicious gastronomic adventure with a warm welcome and very good service

This was my and my girlfriends go-to restaurant, until yesterday when the waitress chased me in the parking lot because she thought we didnt tip well. I went without bringing my girlfriend for our anniversary to a chic restaurant but when the waitress chased me, I felt like a thief who hadnt paid for her meal. Thats what the other customers must have thought when they saw the waitress rushing out.

Great dining experience! Dining is an hour and half that includes soup samples, salad, and a bread bowl. Meal was excellent and service was suberp.

We came to Chantal Steak House for a dinner for our road trip since it s my mother s birthday. The owner Chantal is a very nice lady that answered all questions about the menu. She is very sweet and cheerful lady. The server is also very helpful as we had quite a few request for our dinner and she managed to satisfies all our request. We ordered steaks and lamb and they are all fantastic. Since it was my mother s birthday, she also gave my mother a small cake which was very tasty. It was overall a delightful experience and I would definitely recommend Chantal Steak House!
