BONNE BOUFFE GARANTIE, Ambiance, Musique, Culture, Vibe. Wifi Gratuit, Livraison Disponible, Service traiteur sur demande POUTINE GRIOT 😋 #Bon Manjé!
Cute little place with very reasonable prices unlike most places nowadays. Food was ok, not 10/10 but not bad at all.
Unfortunately the place seems to have lost its quality. Might have been good years ago, but feels like stale canteen food now. Poutine griot : found no plantain in poutine with potato, chicken was utterly over cooked Tasso dinde- felt like dee fried bone in turkey, covered barely in sauce and rice was stale
We had read some of the reviews.and a few was WRONG. We have been to other Haitian restaurants. And by far this one is a jewel. Outstanding service. And all the food was on point. Don't read the negative reviews .because they don't know food.
Worst haitian food ever. Im a big fan of haitian food, but this one is just plain horrible. The rice was dry, the legume was cold af and didnt taste quite right, we also bought fried chicken that was totally burned. The cashier was watching a movie on netflix television was extremely loud. That made us laugh cause we couldnt here eachother while eating. Not a good experience at all.
The rice was over cooked and burnt! The sauce was awful pure flavour of canned tomato! Not at all a slight of great Caribbean food flavour! Totally disappointed!
OMG what a find! Who would expect such and authentic African dish in downtown St Jerome? Placed just off the Petit Train du nord bike path, near kilometre zero, you will find : Bon Manje! Hailing from Cameroon, Africa, Gothard, the owner and chef prepared us the beef dish, Griot, the house specialty. As well as the peanut chicken and extra vegetables, all of it, fantastic! The unique spices Goddard brought directly from Cameroon i(t would seem) all exploding with unique flavours that leave you with a medium-nicely spiced smile on your face. You can ask to recharge your EBike battery and the answer is a resounding yes! We will rerun again, without question!
The food is good, I just don’t think it tastes like Haitian food. I had a griot the meat was tender but the rice was too soft like a risotto and tasted like there were italian spices in them. The sauce you put on rice doesn’t taste like traditional sauce. Coming from a girl who’s had real Haitian food from a variety of places in Montreal!
Omg this is the best discovery in Saint-jerome. As a big fan/connaisseur of poutine i have to say this is the best i ever had. I love poutine and haitian food so this is the best mix. The cabrit was also phenomenal, pikliz is amazing. On top of that the owner is very friendly. Definitely a must.
When I went to the restaurant everything was closed although on Google it said open so it is no longer this restaurant which is at this address but the corners of the islands
You laugh at the people in parcels we pay 50 dollars with extra for mini pots of disgusting shit worst restaurant in Saint Jerome here is the extra sauce I dont even want to eat it Im throwing it in the trash Im going to Macdonalds
No sounds nothing. We hear the sound of the fryers in the kitchen. Im a griot lover and I try to find new spots quite often. It s a real shame but it s the worst griot I ve eaten. Pork not very tasty. The spicy broth is also bland. The pikliz is also really the worst I have eaten. Only good point! The best banana weighed!! Unfortunately unless there is an extraordinary radical change. This experience will not be repeated at all.
Seriously, but hes 5 years old, now its really no good, sorry to say that :( Ill never come back again!! I threw everything in the trash :((
I came from Mont-Tremblant to eat African cuisine The restaurant was closed when I arrived, and it said it was open on the site
The portion of rice and griot meat was generous, but very little plantain. The food is very well seasoned but the griot meat was just fat. **this is the first time Ive eaten a Haitian dish so it might be the norm. I would go back but try something else
First and last time. The only employee not smiling, dry, sitting on her cell the whole time. The meals were not what was supposed to be. Everything tasted like cloves and was spicy even though it wasnt supposed to be. My vegetable meal: mini portion of boiled vegetables and a mountain of rice. The chicken in peanut sauce had no peanut taste and was not sauced... really bad and not what its supposed to be. Poor service. We dont recommend it at all.
I ordered fried chicken by delivery. And my chicken arrived raw. It is not cooked in any way. And no refund possible. I was never able to contact the restaurant, always without a response. And impossible to leave a message.
Nothing to say other than a little smile would sometimes be appreciated otherwise the food is perfect
Its changed a lot compared to the beginning I went there very often I loved the food and now its leaves something to be desired I would say close to unsanitary a shame it will be the last time for me
Impeccable service, good food
The best griot in the Laurentians
Super good and authentic cuisine.
The best Griot in the country. Very warm service, the team always has a smile and they even already know my order by heart.
Quite simply the best Grio Ive eaten (and I compare it to several Creole restaurants in Montreal!)
The food was good but the service was quite long.
Simply perfect!
Delicious! The griot is juicy, the sauce is delicious and the rice is bursting with flavor. Underrated!!!!
Excellent! The griot was juicy, the rice was to die for and the welcome was simply impeccable!
Delicious and always well served!
Authentic flavor, generous portion. My favorite dish, grio! I highly recommend it.
Always satisfied!! It s a place that I stop every time I visit St Jérome!! I even make detours to go there ;) it s so worth it!!!
Have a good meal! Courteous, friendly staff, authentic comfort food.
Worst griot I have eaten in my life, in fact I threw it in the trash because it was so bad!
IT WAS a good place, a good manje. Now its overcooked meat thats not fresh, dry and shows that always play really loud. Its no longer the same food as it was 3 years ago when it opened and that saddens me to no end.
OMG best poutine ever! The staff is really very nice!
Griot and plantain was so dry and hard!! Rice was ok!! Not worth it! Will never be returning!
Amazing new find, will definitely be going back and referring other people too. So much better than i could of imagined! Keep up the good work!!! Kid-friendliness: Owner was very friendly with my daughter and us! Great experience
I really like restaurant
Really delicious
The griot is too gyuuuu
Really very good! The value for money family special is excellent. Good for 4 large adults or 2 adults 3 children. Tasty, the rice is perfectly seasoned and the pork is very delicious. I will definitely go back.
A damn delight!!!
We must respect the hours midnight is midnight Not 9 p.m.
Hello, here is my opinion! I was one of the first customers when it opened a few years ago! Im disappointed to see the quality and flavor disappear over the years. Tonight (July 23, 2023) the griot and overcooked Beef Tasso!!! I cant believe they dont have a timer so you dont overcook the meat! It all starts from there!!! The sauce and rice barely taste and Im not even exaggerating!!! On that! This was my last time! RIP.
Im from Montreal and Ive eaten griots often! But this, the meal looks like it, but the taste is not there. The wrong spices are used here. I really didnt like it. Not every dish is a griot. For an authentic griot, you have to go to Damesara in St-Georges!
Disappointed
When the restaurant opened a few years ago, their food was really good, the griot was tasty and tender. Now its dry and very bland. Too bad since it was really delicious before..!
Delicious full of flavors...so much so that I had lunch with the leftovers from dinner...what a discovery
We moved to St-Jérome with a big smile to see that Haitian culture was part of the decor. We couldnt wait to taste their dishes. I think we practically ate in every Haitian restaurant in Montreal and the surrounding area. In addition, we have been cooking griot, chicken and vegetables for years, so we are good eaters. The first times, 2 years ago, very surprising to see the quality of the dishes. However the macaroni sauce and salad were not Haitian. But for the rest, on weekday evenings when we wanted to treat ourselves to a good meal without any hassle, this was the right address. However, over time, the taste, quantity and quality have changed. Why change a winning recipe??? The employees have difficulty saying hello and thats without forgetting that one time in two, we dont have a banana in our dishes and the food is overcooked. For what ??? Dont change your recipes or your way of cooking. Loyal customers want consistency. We tried again recently and again, very disappointing. Please do what.
Not the best griot I have eaten, the meat was dry and the rice was cold and not very tasty. The portion of the plate was ok, but definitely for one person.
It s delicious, the meat is tender and tasty
Wow for around $34..griot poutine (lots of meat with a really good taste) banana weighed sweet delicious griot dish rice stick omg delicious. THE FLAVORS ARE SICK
Worst meal ever!!! Worst griot ever!!! Those who rated 5 stars eat too many microwave meals! Because thats what I was served at this place... a supposed plate of pork stew and rice with beans reheated in the microwave for 2 minutes because the dish was more or less hot. The worst part... everything was covered in a spicy sauce that tasted like the bottom of the pan burned. I confirm like the others that half of the pork (which was not fried in oil like the real griot) was just pieces of fat. Basmati rice was old rice from the day before or the day before in motton. Everything ended up in the trash, including my $$$ money. This restaurant is a disgrace to Haitian cuisine and culture! It is strongly recommended that the owners of this restaurant take cooking classes and visit leading Haitian restaurants that serve fresh dishes of the day! Citizens of St-Jérôme, flee this restaurant!!!
We had a pork dish with rice. I forgot the name, but damn it was good! We will return to visit you soon! Good day.
Disappointing... the first time I went there it was authentic food. Now yuck. The rice and sauce accompanied the griot.. Way too salty and taste of spices which have no connection with Haitian food in my opinion!? I felt like I was eating meatballs with Italian sauce... Why did you change the recipe!? to accommodate St Jerome!? Come back to your authentic food please. The pickliz isnt great either, it looks like coleslaw. It lacks color... 2 stars pcq I received good pieces of griot, the meat was tender even if fried and not a lot of fat...
Good, inexpensive food.
Very bad. Truly a shame for the Haitian community! Looks like a COVID-19 dish. Large pieces of meat, tasteless! Sticky rice, ouff without taste First and last visit! Not recommended!
Very good family meal. Nice welcome!
Thank you very much for the good service.
Delicious and tasty. We took DJ chicken and kid. Very friendly staff.
The best Haitian restaurant in the Laurentians!!!
Owner love!
Very good service
Super good service! Truly delicious! It was the first time I ate a Griot and it wont be the last! I recommend to everyone.
Generous and delicious dishes
A tasty taste and generous portions .very good Haitian cuisine I found my new favorite restaurant thank you
Good delicious dish, generous good service reasonable price 5 stars to return without a doubt.!
Delicious, just delicious. And the staff is always smiling and friendly. :-)
Super good and very well served with a smile!!!! Im going back and recommend you wont be disappointed!
Delicious and they are very welcoming
Great place to eat griot, very friendly staff
Very nice place where you eat well, the staff is very friendly
The best griot in town. Very friendly staff. Go ahead
Excellent!
Mask lowered, touch your phone to post a fake review and then take your food directly with your hands.
First time and frankly possibly the last. Jamaican paté we would say cooked in the microwave, vegetable dish with large carrot and cube of beef full of fat and 0 white rice. The griot was ok. The tasso beef dish the beef was so hard to eat and full of fat. The rice tasted only like cloves and the OMG sauce was definitely nothing but oil.... very disappointed but the pikliz was good. Probably the only thing I said wow! Pikliz lolll and the tasteless macaroni salad. The pieces of meat were so big in tk 0/10 for the presentation.
Excellent, especially when its International Rum Day. I recommend it.
Super good and even better than before I understand some of the reviews that date from the pandemic... But right now? Its perfect!
Much anticipated Asian restaurant in St-Jerome. Courteous, smiling staff, cleanliness assured since we see the kitchen and it is very clean. Excellent food. Go there in large numbers, you wont regret it.
I tried the Tasso de cabri: Very tasty! The portions are generous. THANKS.
Yum yum Bon Manjé
the food was moldy the food was moldy
It was delicious, beautiful place, well maintained and the person who served us was super nice. Thank you for this great experience I will return
Excellent griot
Excellent Cambrit tasso. Griot a little too salty on the other hand. The portions are generous. The service is courteous and efficient.
Its incredible every time I receive friends, its the place. Absolutely delicious, Im completely under the spell of this restaurant, my favorite, in St Jérôme
Fried chicken was delicious 10/10
I am Haitian, and I have only been there twice. For the welcome, unlike Montreal, I think it s the only restaurant that welcomed me with a smile I have to be very honest Food wise it s to be desired unfortunately The griot I ordered once was not cooked. The pikliz was too liquid and didnt even sting, it looked more like a salad. The bananas are either too soft or a little burnt. The colored rice is not very good, it is not the famous shrimp rice that we are used to eating. It looks like Uncle Ben rice. The sauce is unfortunately not good, it lacks a lot of taste and it is too liquid. Jamaican pies, what a shame. I was really disappointed, they would say those sold in certain schools in Montreal. To tell you honestly, I was ashamed when I went there with a friend of Quebec origin, because it does not represent Haitian cuisine. I went there with my (Haitian) friends and we were very disappointed and I would not recommend a Haitian to go eat there. If you have a craving for Haitian food, I would recommend that you make the small sacrifice to go either to Laval or Montreal, you will see the difference!
For my part, I went to get a beef Tassot and Manuella was incredibly kind and for the beef Tassot I recommend it. For those who criticize let me explain a little thing to you, know that the young woman behind the counter is the owner and the only employee who works in this beautiful little restaurant, she kills her day job and goes home and prepares the menu for the next day basically she works 7 days a week because for her and her husband opening a small restaurant was their dream. Certainly sometimes there can be things that have perhaps been overcooked or quite simply that you dont like because you didnt necessarily have the right dish for you, tastes are in nature but know that behind a beautiful little restaurant this hides a woman, a mother and a wife who kills herself every day so be kind in your words because she is simply adorable Continue your fabulous cooking, I love it and above all keep your beautiful warm smile From the girl who tells you not to give up and above all to pursue your dreams
Chicken, what a delight!!
Very friendly welcome, griot poutine, really good!
I saw that the restaurant had a good rating and I am used to Haitian food, my partner had beef tasso and I had griot and everything was really bad, the much overcooked meat was as hard as a rock, the rice also way overcooked with bits that almost broke your teeth, pikliz with a strange color not bad but really not the best I have tasted. The only thing that is good is the Jamaican sauce and pasta. The portions are huge though!
Very warm service with good music and the grio, quite simply one of the best I have eaten!
I had my order prepared for a grio dish.. I arrive, I pay and then I look at my dish and I have 4 LARGE PIECES of grio the salad is yellow and the rice looks like a leftover from yesterday I asked for a refund the madam try to explain to me that the salad is yellow because I pre-ordered 20 minutes in advance anywayz what should I expect from a Haitian restaurant in St Jerome Worst Haitian restaurant... and by the way she didnt want to reimburse me so I said she can keep the money and her rotten dish I went to the McDonalds
Very bad, dirty place and terrible tasting food. We threw away our two plates. We felt sick all evening. Dont be fooled by Good old reviews
I dont recommend.
The meal was good. The service was good too. I didnt give the 5th star simply because the meat was cooked too dry and too hard, almost impossible to chew. Stove or cooking problem, I cant say. Other than that everything was good!
The comments were once good, but now its really bad. Its a cafeteria, probably for CEGEP students. On the weekend there was almost only grilled chicken, I had overcooked turkey. We also had 1 chicken empanada and 1 beef empanada. There is no chicken, they bring us 2 beef without telling us. I eat there and I am served in a Styrofoam dish with plastic utensils. This false service is really harmful to the environment. You need a real fork to cut the turkey. We should do honor to your country, it must be better there. The floor is dirty too.
Apart from the fast delivery (thanks Livro, really disappointed. First, macaroni salad goes straight to hot rice, who likes hot salad? The weighed bananas are not very heavy! With a mini piece as a second banana, really ridiculous. The super thick sauce, the griot or rather the 3 huge pieces full of unedible fat, the piklis, one of the worst I have ever eaten. Rice ok. Definitely the last time.
Very tasty and fast service but price a little higher than my expectations. The portions, however, are generous!
Its really good
There are good discounts. It would be very interesting if there was sometimes a senior discount 65 and over. Knowing the great respect that all my Haitian friends have for the wise... Thank you for your presence. We really appreciate your good food!
The taste is good in the mouth but there is little on the plate
Delicious
Super nice culinary experience! The food is excellent, the portions generous, there are pikliz sizes to take away! The atmosphere is warm, always a pleasure to go there and see the owners! They are super nice! Thank you Have a good meal!!!
The best griot
Top food, generous portions, very welcoming staff
Ayoye, its good in yeule en tabarnak.
Close your eyes... Savor and everything is magical... Thank you, recommend without moderation...
Excellent griot plate. The sauce could be hotter. But overall it was very good. THANKS !
a dish of sticky rice (without meat) and a 30 ml of pikliz 11.49 its up to you to judge or its me who is cheap
The white rice that came with the chicken in sauce was tough and was undoubtedly cooked the day before...
Impeccable service, incredible welcome
The griot was very good, however, the rice dry. The service was very long because the cashier/cook was alone during rush hour.
Really excellent, friendly staff. Cheap
Beautiful atmosphere. Very nice people and excellent food, well done
Very good but lacks a bit of speed in terms of service
This restaurant is truly excellent!!!!!! I order regularly and the service is as good as what they serve us!!!
I love it I ordered 2 40N dishes (Tasso and griot) for a dinner of 8 people and it was delicious and the price affordable
Very good place! Unbeatable value for money!!!
Super friendly owner, good service, plates full of flavors and well stocked. We will return there for sure
It s a very nice welcoming place with good music and good food. The owner is super friendly. I recommend x1000
Too bad... excellent meal for my first time....but for the 2nd time I was very, very badly received by the cook when I ordered my order he really wasnt happy and he gave it to me made it understood very well, very unfortunate
We had 2 grill dishes. really good. The prices too. We will go back to taste other dishes for sure!
Absolutely delicious!
I loved the food
Best griot in Quebec, warm staff close to their clients, extremely affordable. No complaints!
My boyfriend and I were very warmly welcomed and the food is delicious and generous. The service was fast, and I like that our dishes are already in Styrofoam containers that we can leave with the rest, to take a little souvenir home . I was amazed to find bottles of sparkling banana, which drips like good banana candies 10/10, I recommend it, especially if you are a student, with a generous student discount!
I went there on recommendation but I was disappointed the rice was very sticky and the griot was not fried enough. In short my experience was not positive.
Always excellent, wonderful service, we feel like in their family well done
Too much fat in the griot. Dish can generous
Honestly its not Haitian food, start with the sticky rice, its really not good (0 taste) Beef tasso, (0 taste) Pikliz looks like cabbage salad The sauce tastes like nothing, Please be more professional in your field
Excellent meal, refreshing with all these flavors . I adore!!!
As an haitian woman I m disappointed this doesn t taste like haitian food AT ALL.
I am absolutely disappointed this is not a Haitian restaurant. I never want to set foot there again. The rice is salty, the meat has no flavor. Finally we had to throw everything away.
Im Haitian and to be honest Ive never eaten something so hideous. First time eating at this restaurant and well the LAST TIME. the rice tasted like cloves, salty and mushy. Waste. if you want to eat REAL Haitian food, this is not where youre going to eat it
Very good but every time I go there is something missing. Either plantains, pikliz or today, for example, my sauce only tasted like oil. If everything was still done well, I would give 5 stars
WOW! Homemade! Good manjé!
When the owner is there, its really good! When hes not there my dishes only have fat and the rice is clearly not what Im looking for
If you are simply looking for a place where the dishes are more or less decent to eat, this restaurant may do the trick. But if your goal is to discover Haitian food this is not the place to go. I am Haitian and I found that the dishes did not taste AT ALL like Haitian food. Plus everything was way too salty. In short, to taste authentic Haitian dishes I very, very strongly advise you to go elsewhere!!
Best griot
Excellent !
I do not recommend this place in any way. The first time the food was bland and salty. So, I gave a second chance only for the cashier to judge that I was not a student worthy of having the discount since I am in the DEP and doing an internship at the hospital. Even with my card she wouldnt give me the student discount. Worst place ever
Really disgusting... as if he had dipped the entire dish in a pot filled with cloves.
Succulent and good portion
I tried the Griot Poutine. It was okay! Not great, but not bad either. However, the cook forgot to add the plantains, which I imagine would have added a nice touch to the dish. I dont know if its worth a second visit!
It was my first experience of Caribbean food. I was expecting something new, nothing more. Listen, the lunch I went to get last Thursday warmed my soul. The griot was sublime, the rice, the spicy sauce, wow! I felt like with every bite I was forgetting the apathy and anxiety that the covid crisis brings to society. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who needs something new or simply wants something tasty, fresh and full of flavors. Thank you to the very smiling staff and the fast and courteous service!
Really excellent, lovely welcome and really good meal, we all loved it We ordered the movers meal, good big portions, the sauce mmmmmmm really very good and everything else too.
Super good poutine
Tasty and delicious dishes! Plus the people are super friendly. Absolutely not to try
Super good griot!!! Friendly service :)
We just finished eating and MY GOD it was good! The best griot I have eaten in my life. My family and I are really happy to have found this place. We will return there for sure!
I dont like spicy food, but its a good restaurant!
The best Haitian food I have eaten. Good quality but slightly expensive.
Excellent food!! Great dining experience
Excellent griot, unbeatable price. Their Jamaican pâté is the best Ive had in a long time good manjé, recommended and now a quick choice
Outstanding service and excellent food!
It s really good food
Super good beef
Excellent
The food is good, the service is good, sometimes the meat portions are small but its still worth the detour.
Very good beef tasso I recommend to everyone
The food is really excellent, super happy that there is a restaurant like that in St-Jérôme! Be careful, some foods are very spicy (which I personally love), but some people wont like it.
Delicious!!! I have been a regular customer since I discovered this place.PS. The owner is welcoming and very friendly. Absolutely worth trying.
Very good. But I find it quite expensive compared to the Creole restaurant in Montreal..
Very good and spicy
Super good very good service and pleasant surprise it was a first but not a last
d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s.!!!
It is closed because an employee got Covid-19.
Succulent meal, warm welcome, reasonable price and student discount. Pleasantly surprised first time and certainly not the last.
Still so good! The Griot is perfect!
Better then anywhere im montreal that Ive eaten. Fresh!! Good food in st jerome. Trop bon
The grilled meat and the beef were really overcooked, very very dry and hard to eat, only the chicken was good and the rice even if it lacked a little taste. We dont like waste but more than half of it went to the compost . It was our first experience at this restaurant, although I love Haitian cuisine.
Its not my type of food but there are always people there so that means its good. On the other hand, the coleslaw is way too spicy. Its lucky I dont smoke otherwise I would have exploded as soon as I lit my lighter. That said, the employees were perfect and the service very fast.
The food is great, the staff is amazing, the prices are affordable, but the delivery...very long!
The dish eaten was chicken in sauce... It was very good and very spicy. But the price was rather expensive for a chicken leg and rice.
