Once seated, the atmosphere was perfect, cozy, finally a restaurant that is not cacophonous! Our server Antoine completely stood out! His detailed explanations of the different parts of beef and pork, wow! From a frankness that we really appreciated! We ate well! Excellent. The only downside of our meal was the pudding chômeur which lacked sweet liquid... a little dry in our opinion (its really personal). The cuts of meat were delicious and cooked perfectly! Hello, we had St-Jérome beef and pork dinner yesterday. The steak (cowboy ages 45 days) was overcooked and cold. In fact the whole plate was cold including the garnished potato. The service was impeccable. We will not return to this place again.

Dinner with friends (4 people) on Sunday November 17, 2024 Waitress mixed. She comes to show us the pieces of meat but constantly gets the names wrong and has to ask her colleagues to confirm the different pieces. For my part, the cooking of my steak was good, on the other hand that of my partner was not cooked at all as requested, and all the sides were cold. I also ordered a lobster tail to share with my partner. This one arrived raw, I had to turn it over after 2 bites. For $270 I expected to have better quality control of the plates served. For my part, it was the first and last time. Paying $270 is not the problem, but it seems to me that at this price everything should be up to par. Very disappointed

I went to dinner this evening with my loved ones. I really liked the place but the atmosphere lacks a touch of relaxation and comfort. Perhaps soft music or even the place deserves a jazz band on site? But this is my vision and I share my opinion. At first the welcome was rather cold but once a table was assigned our waitress quickly took care of us and was very professional. We were treated to aperitif suggestions, attentive towards my young people, professional service on the wine service as well as visual explanations of the cuts of meat as well as its desserts. We ate meat as good as we could have hoped for. I will not hesitate to return to this place to try the land and sea menu to share which I should have tried this evening ;) THANKS ! Until next time

Not coming from the area, I tried Boeuf Cochon about 6 years ago. Since I was in the area this evening, I wanted to go back with my husband. I would like to highlight the excellent service of our waitress Nathalie. Although this restaurant presents itself with class, Nathalie made us feel welcome and comfortable. She took the time to explain the cuts of meat and their menu to us. I felt like she was taking care of us. This kind of quality of service in 2024 is on the verge of disappearing. The Terre et Mer meal for two...simply delicious. Thank you to the entire team of the Boeuf Cochon restaurant. I will not hesitate to make the trip again to enjoy this culinary experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant is calm and warm. The noise level is low, which makes it very easy to have conversations without having to raise your voice. The food tastes good. The meat and the freshness are there. The presentation of the dishes is correct. Some dishes were served on ecological supports. The fries are also very good (crispy on the outside and soft on the inside). Access to the restaurant is very good. A bit of a hill so, if access is on foot and not by car, you must keep that in mind. Parking spaces are shared between a few restaurants. On weekends the parking lot is quite full.

In my book, receiving an overcooked steak in a restaurant where it is a specialty is definitely not okay without management taking matters into their own hands. I ordered the cowboy steak worth $115 + tax to receive a well-cooked steak even though it should have been medium rare. The bill included drinks and ultimately amounted to $175. Despite the mistake in the kitchen I did not penalize the waitress for her service. I was credited $9, the value of a glass of house wine from the 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. special. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the waitress because this compensation is a little ridiculous compared to the invoice value. My contact details were taken and I was supposed to receive a call from the manager who was away which never happened... (We are now a week later) I must add that I have had this same plate at least once a month for almost a year as a ritual, my attraction to the place was linked to the quality of the plate which was usually there. Although this is the first incident, I am left with a bitter taste regarding the houses policy relating to this problem and especially the follow-up. Diligent follow-up would have spared my dissatisfaction and would have demonstrated the class of the establishment...

Edit: Sorry but I have to add following the owners response... First, the price of a dry-aged steak is justified by the time required for aging and the weight loss generated by the process. Absolutely not by the sides served with the meal. You are also absolutely right that firing a dry-aged piece is much more difficult and requires more precision. Cooking is therefore the primary focus of any self-respecting steakhouse when a customer orders a piece of dry-aged meat. With your response, you have just eliminated any benefit of the doubt that I gave to your establishment and I will reduce the initial rating of 3* that I had originally assigned. -------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- Service was good, sides were solid and dessert was excellent. However I ordered a dry aged rib steak and it was less then impressive for the price... I was told they could not cook dry aged steaks any rarer than medium-rare, which I found odd but would have been okay if the steak did not end up being overcooked. The waitress also seemed very surprised when I asked an 85$ cut to be served without sauce which is the point where I should have ordered something else in hindsight... The steak ended up being on the medium-well side and fairly flavorless which was extremely disappointing. Overall it was a decent meal and others in my party that ordered regular cuts were very pleased, but do yourself a favor and avoid their expensive dry aged cuts as they do not measure up to what I would expect for a good steakhouse around these prices. -------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- The service was very good, the sides and dessert excellent. However, I ordered a dry-aged rib steak and was very disappointed... I was informed that they could not serve dry-aged cuts less than medium rare, which was a bit strange but would have been acceptable if the steak would not have been overcooked. Also, the waitress seemed completely surprised when I asked to not add sauce on an $85 cut of beef, in hindsight thats when I should have ordered something else.. The rib steak arrived medium well cooked and tasteless, which was really disappointing. In the end, the meal was satisfying and the others in our group who ordered regular cuts were very satisfied. But avoid their expensive dry-aged cuts as they are not up to par for what I normally expect from a steakhouse in this price range.

Very courteous service, we asked for a quiet corner on a Saturday evening when the restaurant was full and the owner offered us the single, huge bench seat. Having an ASD and having difficulty with places full of people it was even more appreciated. Thank you Alain

Extra ordinary experience this evening. Pleasantly surprised, ultra fast service from the manager to place us at our table, a surprising courtesy. We were lucky enough to meet Charlotte our waitress for the evening who was able to show us everything and explain each piece of meat. Barely a few minutes after ordering we were already served! Faster than a drive-thru at McDonald s! The food was perfect! Impeccable cooking, exceptional taste and everything was very hot. (Beef cheek and flank steak) we took a coconut shrimp starter, and strangely it tasted like beaver tails, but it was deliciously surprising! All served with a smile and professionalism. The manager Alain even came to speak to us after the meal, which I found greatly appreciated. We will return there as often as possible. The only thing I find unfortunate is not having known this place sooner. Thank you all.

For the service very good, but my wagyu hamburger was dry and a little overcooked, for the snails it was good but not extraordinary, we were a group of fifteen people, most were satisfied with their meal but lacked a little refinement for the cost of our dinner and I found that it lacked a bit of atmosphere, I dont think I will return there soon

The service is really great, our waitress was very attentive. For example, me and my partner had a plate of 2 for $205, the lobster tails were horrible. I took a big mouthful and then got a huge taste of ammonia. As I was holding it through my nose I thought I was going to have a nosebleed, I felt sick to my stomach and I still have a lot of stomach pain this morning. We had to ask for compassion and they reimbursed us for the 2 lobster tails on the plate. But anyway, dinner was ruined and I didnt feel well, so we left without dessert. I would have appreciated not having to ask for my compensation! Otherwise the rest was excellent, it was a great discovery but we wont go back.

Much too expensive in these times of inflation. We eat 21 times a week, its starting to get expensive for just one meal out of 21 a week!

We went Sunday February 18th snow day and I am in a wheelchair. The manager Alain had cleared the access ramp just before our arrival and even some time before our departure. This is a service that I havent seen elsewhere yet. Warm welcome. Excellent food. Attentive services. If I go back to Saint-Jérome, I will definitely eat at B uf Cochon. Wheelchair accessibility: Access ramp easy to use but a bit narrow. Parking is right next door.

I feel bad describing my experience as a disappointing evening, but the reviews are there for improvement. So, I didnt like my last visit to Boeuf Cochon and the penultimate one. The famous expression never two without three was put into practice, since the first time a little over a year ago it was delicious, the portions were very generous and very tasty except for the last two times. This summer I had the shrimp macaroni which cost me too much, which was recommended to me as the best pasta they cooked here. I had the shrimp pasta dish, and it was both extremely salty and bland. 3 large shrimps with perhaps a dozen overcooked miniatures, a white sauce that is too liquid and slightly raw pasta. A macaroni that isnt macaroni, plus a macaroni that doesnt taste like cheese at all, I was disappointed. I said to myself It doesnt matter, bad batches happen and Im just not lucky, and what possessed me to take pasta at the restaurant, frankly So I took the blame and I just had doubts, except that at $33 without taxes for the small bowl which really didnt taste like $33 macaroni, I was angry and disgusted. It was after February 14 for Valentines Day with my partner that we went back. Thank goodness the ambiance was better than the last few times, but why serve food that costs too much for the customers minimal eating experience? The fried squid, fatty and oily, also very bland that you need to eat the sauce on the side for it to be good. At least the squid wasnt rubbery, so bravo! Then we ordered a porterhouse steak to share because we were told that they usually put so many fries and vegetables in the kitchen that well have enough. Guess what ? Obviously not. So, reduced portion but its OK, were happy until we eat the vegetables which literally taste like 2x4. I guess that was all that was needed to fuel the fire in the kitchen, but cheers for the 5 vegetables that taste like the 2x4 board I use for home renovations. The fries were good with their Cheetos aftertaste, the same seasonings are used in almost all restaurants so nothing original, but its the only thing I had pleasure in eating. Then the steak, it was correct, it was juicy, with Montreal steak spices like you buy on the shelves in the store. Then comes the dessert which comes to the rescue of the evening. Ill cut the fun right away, I was still disappointed that the other restaurants were closed to save my sweet tooth. I dont know what the thrill is of putting the smallest dessert at $11 that tastes industrial that I could buy at the IGA, but its not strong. Even in CHSLD the desserts are homemade. I cant believe the $167 bill for an unpleasant experience which will never be repeated at Boeuf Cochon and which also destroyed the fun of the restaurant on Valentines Day. In addition the waitress was not able to explain the desserts to us, she tried to make a money grab to give us a thicker slice of steak without warning us that it cost more. In short, if you want to have a restaurant experience that seems fancy, and then spend as much money to feel like youre eating well, go there, but for those who have a more developed palate and a desire to like what they eat , go away. Dont serve food in which your cooks are not expert or the recipes are low end because you will make even more disappointed customers. Boeuf Cochon deserves to improve. Hoping that it will eventually no longer be a regrettable experience eating at your place. Pepitos Vegetarian options: Very few vegetarian options, at the same time its a steak bar Parking: Little space near the restaurant, we had to park at the hotel next door Kid-friendliness: Its not really a restaurant for children in my opinion, the atmosphere is more adult. Wheelchair accessibility: Too narrow in my opinion, Im glad Im not in a wheelchair.
