It’s a local brewing restaurant, we dine in. Had burger and poutine. Burger is juice, and lots of gravy on poutine. And a lot of arts hanging on the wall. The staff is nice and patience answering the questions of the local brewing. He recommend one named “ all about out “ ( can’t remember the exact name. I got two packs of that. And a mix combustion of the rest. This beer has a delightful citrusy twist, making it incredibly refreshing. The bright citrus flavors are perfectly balanced with a rich, smooth wheat aroma, giving it a fresh and invigorating taste. It's the kind of beer that's perfect for a sunny day, offering both a zesty punch and a comforting wheat undertone. A must-try for those who enjoy a flavorful and aromatic brew!
If you're in downtown Saint John, NB, you absolutely have to try Union House by Trailway! They serve some of the most delicious smash burgers I've ever had. The simplicity of their toppings combined with the variety of yummy sauces makes for a truly satisfying meal. The service here is fantastic and fast, ensuring you won't be kept waiting long for your food. Plus, the prices are fair, making it a great value for the quality you're getting. Overall, I highly recommend giving Union House a try. You won’t be disappointed!
This is my favorite place to come for burgers. The atmosphere is very nice with lots of beautiful artworks. The staff is very friendly. I will definitely come back
We went there to catch up with a friend. It's a pub with very self aware kitchen. They have more bears on tap than menu items (even with the different sized burgers counted separately). But the few food item they are comfortable preparing, they mastered. My wife had the smash burger, and I had the best chicken sandwich. The fried chicken, tender and juicy, with crunchy breading, complimented with dressing with just a little kick to it and lots of flavour. And at a very favourable price point.
This has become our go to burger place. The smash burgers are amazing, the fries are great, and the beer selection is good. The vibe is really low key and comfortable, and I love the local art on the walls. Update: new menu items are awesome and love having the options!

Food - P.E.I beef, very good smash burger they are thin but very tasty. Prices are reasonable. The flavor is all from the meat not the toppings which is how a burger should be. I've lived out in Alberta for 12 years, trust me when I say the burger has what your looking for. Sorry never posted the burger I took one bite and couldn't stop myself Service - very kind, laid back good service. Was quick and to the point ! Atmosphere - very clean and uptown vibes. Bathrooms are nice and clean as well.
Really enjoyed this lovely spot to grab some good food and have some delicious beers. We were there during the Poutine Fest, and both of their entries were delicious. They have a very wide selection of beers both on tap and in cans, and brew their own right here on site. The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed, yet sophisticated.
Food was amazing and portions were big and well worth the price point. It was nice and chill place to sit and have a burger. It got loud and busy as Trivia time approached and thats when I headed out.

The beer is to die for, the staff is friendly and the burgers and fries are my favourite in the city! One of my favourite spots to visit in Saint John. Don t miss out on their beer slushies! They are so good!
A great selection of draft beers. The food menu is short (and affordable) and the burgers are SO GOOD! Friendly staff. And my gluten free daughter said the gf roll was better than most. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options!

Not sure why the rave reviews but one of the worst burgers I ve had in a long time. A&W burgers are better and that s saying something as I don t like those. Sad as reviews seemed good and grass fed beef got me but terrible.
The smash burgers here are top notch. I probably had the strangest beer of my life here. Some type of fermented fruit beer. The normal beer on tap is meh, but that is all preference. Parking: On street parking.

Best chicken burger ive ever had.
Our first visit to Union House and it wont be our last. Great selection of craft beers and ciders, many made in-house. You have a selection of on-tap and bottled. If you are unfamiliar with any draft, they will give you a taste. I had an Italian Stout, a strong dark beer with tones of chocolate and hazelnut. My partner enjoyed an Eclipse beer enough to order a second. We were told to try the Smash Burger and I have to say it is one of the best if not THE BEST burger Ive had in many many years. Get at least the Double burger as individual burgers are thin but so yummy. They have vegetarian and vegan options as well. The buns were grilled to perfection. We shared an order of poutine fries and they were delicious. We bought 6 beer to take home with us. Please check this place out. You will be glad you did.

Had the classic buttermilk chicken burger, delicious!! Hubby had the single cheeseburger which was enough for him and it was great too. Burger is a 2 ounce patty that is smashed so if you have a bigger appetite than us, I would suggest the double smash burger. Fries were also yummy, just the right amount. We shared the fries, again, enough for us as seniors. They have done a fantastic job on the makeover of this place, very nice! Beck was super friendly, had a great conversation with her. Prices are fair, atmosphere was great, staff friendly! A new place to go to in Saint John and enjoy!! Thanks!!!
Was a bit of a let down to be honest after having waited a while for it to open. I understand the time needed to iron out the kinks but tbh the fact that having flights at a brewery/pub was never a consideration right off the bat is a huge let down . For me personally its a huge part of the appeal. Id much rather pay $2 more per person but sample 4 beers rather than 1. Then, even though I follow all the Facebook updates, I come to find out that Physica was no longer on tap. Another let down, which couldve been avoided with real time FB or Untapped updates. And last, Poutine which again was highly spoken of before, was served to us lukewarm and cheese curds not just not melted but rubbery and cold. Really ab offense to poutines all around. Im obviously a huge Trailway fan and this wont stop me from filling a growler here but in my honest opinion it just doesnt measure up to the Fredericton location, the vibe and service just isnt there...yet- hopefully.
I really enjoyed my visit. Kudos to Trailway for opening the Union House location in Saint John. This area of uptown Saint John is undergoing a revitalization and a transformation in the neighborhood and good things are happening. A friendly, cozy little spot, albeit it was exceedingly loud. Great selection of beers on tap and a nice selection of offerings to take home. Had a couple of burgers W/ fries and the food was good and the service was friendly. Will be back!

For less than what youd pay at most food place you can get a locally made burger with customizable sauce, and have access to some of the best beer in NB. Fries are tasty too. I ordered pick up but the inside was clean and inviting with lots of tables. Next time!

Had the burger Week burger and it was fantastic. The large portion of fries is enough for 3 people. The quality is like none other in the city!

Love this new uptown eatery and craft beer house. They have a beer for everyone, including myself, as I like a lighter beer. Their burgers and fries are delicious! Though, their home fries tend to be a bit overcooked. Great prices too!

Fun spot with great smash burgers and Trailway beer (so you know its awesome ). Our server was wonderfully nice and knowledgeable.
I went here to try the beer and asked if they had served sours. I was made aware that they didn t serve them on tap and they only offered them in bottles. When I purchased two sours it was very expensive (over $20), and only after he charged me, I was made aware that I wasn t even allowed to open them in store (because apparently they are to go only). When I asked why, he provided no explanation. This is very strange and frustrating as they serve bottles in many restaurants and bars. He could ve told me their rule before I made the purchase. Also, their cherry sour tasted like really bad wine, would not recommend.
