Good location but parking only on street. Fish and fries could have been crispier and they only had beer battered which I dont personally like that much. The gravy was bland. The onion ringswere excellent,as was their fries and small potatoes. And their hamburgers. They deep fried their cauliflower and put hot sauce on them. Big mistake ...theyre too hot and not appealing. My bill showed onion rings for $8.00 but no where on the menu did it say that. They were premium side for $6.00. What made it annoying is the waitress agreed with me over it. If the menu had of said $8.00 then Id have paid $8.00. She finally reduced the bills by $2.00.

The restaurant had an unexpected rush due to cruise ships. Our server was very busy and polite. It was appreciated. Food was very good. Oysters were fabulous.

The waitress was great! The food was meh! To be a little fair they had ran out of oysters so we didn t get to try that. We had the lobster Mac and cheese. For 50 dollars you get a lobster claw with macaroni noodles and crackers. That s how it tasted too. Way too many crushed crackers and barely any cheese sauce or lobster pieces.

Nice place to eat varieties and drink, it was the most famous restaurant in 1900, in Paris Fair.

This is usually one of our favorites in Uptown. However, we were there last night and ordered the nachos and cauliflower appetizer. The cauliflower was almost inedible as it was tossed in alot of buffalo sauce and with the blue cheese it was just way too salty and spicy. We had it there before but the menu has changed so unfortunately this new recipe is not great. Weve had great food here before but this fell short.

Un Pub très bien mangé . Jai pris un bon Burger. Mais ny allé pas un lundi dans ce coin. Car il y en a beaucoup de fermé. Celui là était ouvert on était un groupe. On a du se séparer. Pas facile à trouver de la placer un lundi soit et tout était plein . Service à fait son possible. Mais très bon . Soyez patient si cest un Lundi :-)

Hubby and I stopped here today just randomly picking a restaurant as new residents to the area. Service was extremely slow however I would like to give kuddos to the staff. Our waitress never felt flustered and kept checking on us. I even commend the manager for cleaning tables himself and constantly checking in with his staff. We waited a long time but man the food was amazing. We had oysters and the beef melt sandwich and honestly some of the best food we have had. Definitely will go back and they offered us a free beer for the wait which we did not even ask for. Would highly recommend this restaurant

Good food. Nice atmosphere.

We were sort of rushed looking for a place with vegan options. We thought we found it but it wasn t that great. I was disappointed with the burrito bowl and my partner had a very mediocre veggie burger. Maybe the rest of the food is great, but I would not recommend this place to vegans. Vegetarian options: They had a vegan menu but the items we tried on it were not that great and definitely not worth the cost.

I had higher hopes for this place. They were out of fish cakes, oysters and the special beer. All items I wanted unfortunately. Service was slow. They seemed flustered even though the place was not even half full. Due to the extra time it took to check in on us we didnt order an additional beer or any dessert.

We didnt have a great visit here. The staff was friendly but seemed disjointed. The kitchen was out of 3 of the things we were going to get. We pivoted. The calamari was a bit chewy. The curry over fries/ rice was mostly salty and not flavorful. The beer was fine. The server had to take the beer menu for a different table. I would have ordered a second beer, but it took so long that by the time they came to check on us, we were ready to leave. I would not return.

Food was great as per any Gahan restaurant. Unfortunately they lacked in customer service. We were there with a big group of my family. My husband and I had our 2 month old baby with us and he was being a little inconsolable so my husband was walking around with him to soothe him and didnt get to start his meal until everyone else was almost finished. The waitress cleared our plates which is fine but then proceeded to bring us all of our bills before my husband was anywhere near finished eating. She almost brought over the debit machine while he was eating too. We all found it pretty rude and we felt like we were being rushed out even though it was not busy at all. Probably wont be returning. Should train your staff properly for this kind of situation.

This place is for sure a MUST TO GO place if you re in uptown Saint John. We had dinner there 3 days ago and our experience was fantastic. Delicious food, friendly staff, very good beer selection, awesome atmosphere. We ll be back again.

The food was really delicious, their raw oysters was really good and the lobster roll was good also. Loved the sweet potato fries they were really crunchy

We ordered take-out nachos with rice and chicken bites. 1-the chicken was not cooked 2- the topping on the nachos almost non-existent 3-guacamole half mixed and too lemony.

We recently enjoyed a late supper here with our kids and it was nothing short of perfect. The food was outstanding with the haddock tacos being absolutely divine and the berry salad a delightful surprise. Our kids loved the Shirley Temple, which was the best we ve had. Our waitress, Charlotte Steele, made the evening even more memorable with her attentiveness, friendly demeanor, and great sense of humor. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that we hope to repeat one day.

My daughter and I visited Saint John and our first meal was at Gahan! We had the oysters and lobster roll and the meal was simply unbeatable. The atmosphere has a super cool vibe of brick and modern abstract art. The beer was the best in town and the staff was so friendly. We ate at Gahan 4 times in the 8 days we were visiting so that should tell you something. Lol We befriended Tristan who was so fun, kind and thoughtful. Also Thank you and to Erin and Taylor you all helped in making our journey to Saint John so special and memorable! Cheers!!

This is a very standard english style pub with excellent home brewed beer and superior pub cuisine. We had the calamari and sweet potato fries. They were delicious.

Loved the Vic Park pale ale and the 6 hours of sun cider. Bith nice and dry and flavorful. Oysters and tuna tarter right on point.

They were open late on a Sunday night off season ! There was so many options for food and it was fresh and good. Wait staff were wonderful. Kid-friendliness: Coloring placemats and special menus ans their plates with a pile of food.

We had a wonderful time at Gahan House, burger was great and I ve never tried so good sour like Kiwi Passionfruit Sour from their special menu!

Excellent food preparations and presentation. Both the Beef Melt and the Fish Cakes were the best we have ever experienced in our many years of eating out throughout North America. A very warm and inviting atmosphere, with lots of space provided in the seating arrangements. The Staff are top notch!

I ordered through skip, the onion ring burger and I ordered the coconut chicken curry for my son, both dishes were amazing. Fries perfectly seasoned, the chicken curry was amazing.

Its a cool spot with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Meal was ok. The burger bun was crumbly, The patty was a ball of meat and the onion rings tasted fishy.

Really nice pub/brewery. Loved the Mussels and the oysters were awesome.... Nice people but the service was a bit slow.. no big deal.. I recommend the place if you are in town...

An amazing experience tonight at the Ghan House. Food was outstanding and our server Alex was top notch!

Good selection of drinks and pretty good food, staff are very friendly and quick.

Despite not being very busy the service was slow and they did not check on us very often. The food came out warm not hot and had very little flavor.

We got there shortly after opening and had the pickled beets salad with Cajun chicken and Beef melt with fries. Both were delicious. Great service, too. Will definitely go back.

Gahan s was awesome. They did a great job at hosting our 17 person group. The food was 10/10 and good price too. The atmosphere is what you want on a night out and our waitress did an excellent job at keeping us organized and handing out meals. I recommend eating here for anyone.

My Bachelorette party went to Gahan house a couple weekends ago. We were a large group of approximately 18 people, and our waitress was fantastic! She made sure our glasses were full, we didnt wait too long for our food, and she did it all will a smile. We moved around the table multiple times as more people came in and she still kept it all straight. The food was EXCELLENT! Even the next day, the leftovers were phenomenal. I will definitely be back and 100% recommend Gahan House. Thank you for the great meal and impeccable service!

Our group had a reservation for 20. Four tables of 5. We spent 1000 lastnight. Included is. 18% that was demanded. At our table, we ordered two setups of nachos and the ring bearer burger. Nachos where sparse and no forks or napkins where delivered. No one came by to see how we where and we had to ask for them. Never got them. My burger was good but a total of 17 fries where on the plate. Yes I could count them and for the price. Not good. Three of our four tables had gotten their food while the fourth waited over an hour. Three where done and left while the others waited and waited. When they finally go their food if was way over cooked. For a place that listed their cooking staff on a menu, they should visit a food truck amd get some pointers. When you spend 1000.00 in a restaurant, it should be atleast be cooked right. If you have a large group avoid going, Pub Down Under accross the street have better food and service. 180 tip for bad food and service is not acceptable. There are other restaurants in that area, try them instead

A great night in Uptown Saint John. We had a group of nine adults. The wait staff was friendly and the food arrived very hot and delicious.

Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Was a little disappointed that the waterfront patio looked on to a construction site instead, but that s not the restaurant s fault :P

The food was incredible!!! But what stood put the most is how absolutely lovely our server Taylor was towards our toddler and dog Our little girl got coloring pages, and a take-home cup with funny faces and our dog was welcomed and immediately provided with his own water bowl with ice on a hot day. The patio was beautiful and it was the perfect place for lunch! Kid-friendliness: Amazingly welcoming towards kids! They had colouring pages, crayons and let our daughter take the plastic cup with funny faces home. She was SO happy!

Awesome spot down by the water, zero complaints with this place. Service and food were great. Beer selection was also awesome, PEI brewing is a great brewery.

Great food, super nice staff! We sat on the terrasse on Prince William St but there was actually a nicer terrasse on Water St. Ordered nachos, haddock tacos, fish n chips as a kids meal (1 pc) and as a main meal (2 pcs). Kid-friendliness: Crayons and activity sheet provided to children.

Willy was the best! We were instantly greeted and we requested the last table outside (it hadnt been cleared yet) and this young man made it happen . The food was fantastic but the service was outstanding! We will definitely be back!

My husband and I were visiting St John while traveling around Atlantic Canada and we went here for dinner. Husband had the Steak Frites and I had the haddock tacos. Both were extremely delicious. We had some beers as well and didn t love their beers so much but everyone has their own taste. Their Raspberry Sour is delicious though. Overall a great experience and recommend if you re in St John.

Fast and fresh seafood, had a cold honey wheat ale with brown bag fish and chips. Mussels for a appetizer. Good was excellent. Staff was very friendly, food was served hot.

The atmosphere and staff are really great at Gahans. The food and beer taste great! Dietary restrictions: Staff and kitchen is always accommodating to my wifes peanut/tree nut allergy. They bring her meals out separately to do their best to insure no cross contamination.

We were tourists from USA and decided to visit this establishment. We sat for 15 minutes before the server even acknowledged us she had just cleaned the table next to us. Then we were served our drinks. After we proceeded to pay for our food. This establishment refused to do the cost conversion from the American dollar to Canadian dollar. She was very rude and didnt even try to get us the right cost. If youre visiting from the states please either have your money changed or use your debit card. We will not ever recommend this place to anyone.

Love the sour raspberry beer

Fast and friendly service. Exceptional food. The pretzel bites, chicken wings, and pork belly tacos were delicious and generously portioned. If you like sour beers, the raspberry sour was worth the trip.

today i came in with 2 of my friends, Charlotte was our server, she was very kind had a bubbly personality and overall made the experience amazing( considering it was my first time there) definitely will be coming back!

Came for dinner with my boyfriend and our friend on a Monday night , food was great but this review is all about the service. We sat on the patio and were the only ones out there, and had Charlotte as our server. She was AMAZING. She had such a kind and bubbly personality. We had great conversations each time she came out to us and made us feel so welcome. Our drinks were brought out right away along with our appetizers and food followed after very shortly. Everything was hot and delicious and she kept our glasses full! We will definitely be returning and hope to have her as our server again!!!

Great brewery with a rich history. Our hostess (Jeremiah 29-11) was a breathe of fresh air. Offering a rich explanation of the different items brewed and samples. Highly recommended

Nice ambiance, great service, we didnt like the beer we ordered and our waiter had no problem bringing us a different one. We got lobster m&c and lobster grilled cheese, both tasted good, a bit more cheese on top would just make our day. Recommend!

Excellent quality for the price. We took the beef melt and the haddock tacos and both were very tasty. The kids had the fish and chips and they liked it. The home made tartare sauce is very good. Staff is very friendly. I dont like beer but they seem to have good products.

Not the best service when we went. We sat on the harbour side patio to take advantage of the late day sun. Service was slow even though the patio was quiet. When our food arrived we didn t get any side plates or cutlery. We had to ask for it and we also asked for salt, pepper and vinegar. We waited 5-7 minutes to season our meals and ended up having to go inside to get it. Beer selection is great and food is good. I would not recommend sitting on the patio at the back if you don t want to be missed or forgotten.

What an amazing atmosphere!! Our group of 11 was perfectly seated at the tables near the door and we felt at ease to be louder than in the actual restaurant. We were celebrating 3 birthdays and had drinks. Selection of drinks was great, the variety was greatly appreciated by many. Service was absolutely PHENOMENAL and helpful. Will definitely be back next time Im in St. John.

Lots of great beer options including rotating seasonal offerings from the PEI brewery. Good pub style menu with a fair amount of vegetarian options. We love getting take and bake nachos and beer to go.

Good food, we were a large group, and overall everything was good. Not wow, just good.

Noting special about this place. Went last week and automatic door opener was broken. - a pain in the butt with a stroller. Whatever though. Upon seating we asked about sitting by the window. Told they were all reserved and can t accommodate by the girl who sat us. Then learned that there was a leak on the main floor so only seating upstairs. also, their food order didn t arrive and something to do with their beer didn t arrive as well( nitrogen maybe). And lots of staff didn t show up as a trifecta. This caused one couple to leave before ordering so we asked our waitress about their window table and she accommodated us. By the time we left only one other window table were being used. Steak arrived cold and aioli was in a small dish but was told it s usually on the fries and the kitchen did it this way for some reason. Not a big deal but it was a lot of excuses for poor experience. Waitress Courtney was friendly, attentive and accommodating. No complaints with her service. Overall wouldn t be my top choice to return. Oh and floors were strangely slippery. Both wife and I laughed about that. Both were wearing sneakers.

Food was good, wanted badly to like this place. However waitress (alicia) was pretty negligent once she discovered we were not ordering drinks. Sad, we were intending to stay longer and order more food, but we didnt think she would actually come by in a timely manner.

Nice to have something to choose from that is designed to be vegan. My partner enjoyed his non-vegan food too. Great atmosphere and super friendly service.

The place itself was very warm and welcoming. I loved seeing families can all dine together. The food was very good, and the staff especially our server went above and beyond her job. I and my family will definitely be back there again.

We had a great experience at Gahan House this week. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was inviting with muted lighting and our server Charlotte was friendly and efficient! My wife and I had PEI Mussels as an appetizer, fresh and flavorful. I had the Coconut Chicken Curry with half rice, half fries. It was delicious, especially the curry sauce which was amazing. My wide had the Beef Melt which was piled high with beef. She said it was great as well. We shared a lemon bar with our coffee for dessert which was good. All in all a 5/5 worthy dining experience.

Just mediocre at best. Our meal came, steak was cooked to a medium well, far from the medium rare requested. Server came to take my plate and called me dear (a pet peeve of mine, especially since Ive worked in the industry and we were taught that no one is your dear or hun). He then proceeded to take my husbands empty beet glass not offering refill or any other drink whatsoever. Not our best experience at a Gahan location, however we find none are as well run as the one on PEI.

It is by far the best place to get oysters. My girlfriend and I stop in any chance we get. The staff are so friendly and attentive. I would have given 6 or more stars.
