The food is always delicious, and the people are wonderful and very kind. You can't go wrong ordering here. In my opinion, this is the only truly GOOD Chinese food in town.
Bamboo East has always been a family favorite but never more than it is tonight. I have been so very very sick for a full week now, I have eaten nothing solid and I haven't gotten any housework done. I wanted to give my family something good and filling for supper and I was hoping to try to eat again for myself (the last warm thing I chewed and ate was seven days ago today) so I ordered two huge combos and I ordered for myself a wonton soup and a side pack of crab wonton. Let me say the soup is the most full delicious thing and I am almost in tears because the broth tastes so perfect. The bowl is so stuffed you literally could not fit another wonton into it if you try! And I have never eaten more rich and fat crab wonton in my life. I love you Bamboo East, there are no words in this moment for how happy you have made me.
Amazing place to get food. It's a family run business with the owners being super friendly. Take out only and it opens for the dinner meal usually 4pm -10pm, but that does not slow this business down at all. The food is really well made, fast service, large portions and comparable prices. Give this restaurant some love you will not be disappointed.
At the end of the day, they’re bland and overpriced. The lack of flavor is a big issue. If you’re desperate and willing to accept that, while drunk enough, it can be good. Most of the time it’s a bland/expensive deal. Skip it. $55 for 3 half entrees (Last 3 photos). Definitely going elsewhere. Loyalty is zero with these folks. Greedy, giving not enough for my money; below minimum standard portion. Again, skip it.
Great food and fast, fast service. Combo 4 today was the best that I have ever had. The best chicken balls and the best egg roll-everything was delicious. And at 80 yrs of age, I have had lots of Chinese food but never better than I had tonight. Awesome price as well. Thank you Bamboo East-still the best on the city.
My family visited Saint John in April 2022 for a Karate tournament. It was very late when we arrived. Most of restaurants were closed that time. My daughter: the soup was yummy. Me: I love the fried rice and beef. The boss and chef were very nice and hospitable. I must visit and eat there again!!!

Google update there menu please meal for 3 wasnt $40 its was $67 I got steamed veggies 3 cans of pop I also didnt want the rice so I got noodles which he said $7.00 extra my total was 106.00

The food is very good. The portion size is large, everything is fresh, and service is great -- I never have to wait to pickup my order. I am a repeat customer. Note that the dining room is closed, so the place is currently take-out only.

Got delivery, it was alright but not super great. Typical fare neither terrible not phenomenal.
I dont know if new owners took over but this was the worst chinese food we have ever had from there. Portions are smaller and the 4 ribs I did get were all fat. Rice was so salty you could barely eat it Never will eat there again Food

Absolutely amazing restaurant I m a very picky person when it comes to ordering food I order here every month. my food is always fresh amazing friendly service always leave with a smile. Such good prices 10/10 Combo 4, can of pop, 2 egg roll, rice. 21$ tax in. The gentleman who served me today February 26, 2020 4:30pm was very polite as well! Had to leave this review

Ate here a few times while working in Saint John on assignment. Decent food, a little better than mall inspired chinese food, but certainly not the best Ive ever had. Fair pricing, and good size portions. That was in 2009, and the place still looks exactly the same. lol.

I ordered a vegetable beef dish and there were no vegetables in it. I told skip the dishes and they actually penalized me for complaining too much. I said that they want us to report how we feel about the food and even sent them a picture but it made no difference to the lady on the chat. Its no wonder that I havent been using skip the dishes much lately. I think it will be a very long time until I use their services again.

Food is previously cooked, maybe cooked in the morning. The flavor is bland bland bland, you better off going to House of Chan or Linn Chau. The first time we went there was 2 years ago, and we had the same results. You can tell when a food was just made versus a re-heated left overs, the way you know is that food reheated will most of the time have different temperatures throughout. So you might eat a very hot piece and then a medium hot, and then hot again. This also usually happens when you use a microwave on high and the center doesnt heat well. So you mix it up and thats how you get inconsistent temperature. Leaving temperature aside, I never tasted so much MSG in a Chinese food before. The highest level of Saint John so far. I surely dont understand how you could put so much MSG in a dish and still coming out bland?. MSG should enhance a flavor, but then again how could you enhance a flavor that was never there before. I know these people are not bad people, dont get me wrong, what I know is that they dont know how to cook a flavorful meal, thats all. They just think that cooking in the morning or previous day is OK because is still food. If you like leftovers then this is your place, but make sure you like bland tasteless leftovers when you arrive. I hope this helps to people like me who enjoy a good dining experience.

Absolutely revolting. Food seemed to be old and re heated with nasty re used oil. Even smelled really off. Chicken and beef should not smell like old fish. How this place stays in business I have no idea. Does not deserve one star. Hands down the worst Chinese food I have ever had.
Super busy, still friendly as ever
Had Combo #6 today, loved the egg roll, chao ming; pork ribs and the home made chicken balls, everything was so flavorful and fresh I will order it again. I enjoyed the side dish with the sweet and sour sauce detail as i prefer to dip the chicken balls on it rather than having it poured. Thank you Bamboo East I will be back!

I found the chicken balls were delicious, but got soggy before I got them eaten. The rice was overcooked, It has a burnt flavor and tasted greasy. The ribs were tough..too chewy for me. The vegetable were great, but they chicken they used in it had a fair amount of grissle, making it chewy also.
I just receieved my $43 order....not worth it at all!!! ....chicken in the chicken fried rice tasted old and was so dry!! Chicken balls ok. .Bamboo rice only had 2 shrimp but the rest was so dry. ..I usually order once a month but no more.
We had a number 6 combo and it was delisous. We had to drive from North to East Saint John and it was still hot and so good. It was fresh and the dish was so full you could hardly get it all in. I will most definitely be going back 100%

One of the worst Chinese takeaway in Saint John North NB.We bought a chicken lomein and it was not cooked well so we decided to go back to store and expected that they could replace it and cook the new one for us but it went opposite because when we went to store to report it then their behaviour was extremely rude and instead of making noodles again and offering us return they start arguing and dont wanna accept their mistake and said we don t know the taste and refused to recook for us which was very bad customer service and bad customer handling and it was so embarrassing moment. On the top of that they were being very very rude with my wife in front of our 3year old child which was so disrespectful.They don t know the meaning of customer service. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED and Never recommend anyone going to this takeaway if you want a good Chinese food there are lot more options.Anyways after this whole experience we went to different Chinese shop because our 3year old was very sad so we found a place called house of chan and lady their was so nice, caring and respectful and food was awesome so thats how we changed our mood. If I would get a chance to give zero star to Bamboo east then I would give it.Worst place we even been in our whole life.I dont know how this shop is still operating in saint john with this much of poor customer service.Highly upset and do not recommend this place .
Decent place for Chinese fast food. On the night I visited the lineup was crazy and it took an hour to get the grub out however, I know they were working hard and as fast as possible. The bonus was the food was freshly prepared and hot. Ive never had a poor experience to date. I remember when it used to be located on Charlotte Street, uptown.

Placed an order for a meal for 4 and wontons, wontons arrived but no dinner for 4. Paid by debitcan called back, they resent out the order, waiving the delivery fee, but new driver didnt have debit terminal. Asked us to give them credit card number, we refused due to security. Sent food back. WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!!

Very nice people and good service. Egg roll and rice was good, but I found the chicken balls undercooked. The outer shell was soft not crispy and the chicken center was just warm. Not terrible at all but I probably wont be back.

Last night we ordered from here. We called and the lady helped us pick out some gluten free options and even kept the soy sauce out of some of the dishes they were making for us. They took such good care of making sure everything was washed off before cooking. The dinner was amazing! Thank you so much! We will definitely be back. Wonderful service from a wonderful couple. Its so hard to find gluten free food in Saint John and this cared enough to make it for us. They also said they have no MSG in any of there products. I highly recommend them.
