Food is very good, portions are good, staff is friendly, turn around is fast. I do find the prices climbing fair steep over the years, this is ether impacted by their supplies have increased or beyond the curve of common inflation. I have been ordering from the Golden Wok for years and have seen pricing increasing a fair amount from only a few years ago. I eat there less because of this.
Give it 1 because chicken balls were good, but all the rest had no flavor, and ribs were not tender at all
The best chinese food in the city. Always hot, always fresh and the restaurant itself is spotless. The staff are extremely friendly. I love their combo 3 and their Canton chow mein. Prices are extremely good for the amount of food you get. Highly recommend
So far this is the best Chinese food we've had in Saint John. The food was fresh, tasty and the portions were generous. My wife and I both liked that the vegetables were not over cooked. I have to admit that this is only the second Chinese place we've tried in SJ in our first year here. The first place was so bad, we got a little gun shy - it had rave reviews on Trip Adviser. We talked to a lot of locals before we braved the waters a second time. We actually had a number of folks point us to a restaurant in Fredericton! Golden Wok was an absolutely refreshing experience. If you're looking for good value and good Cantonese style food, this is the place.
This place was DISCUSTING!!! After waiting for what seemed like forever my friend came out with cold nasty undercooked food. I asked them to give the money back but she was like no return no return. Got my money back though I showed them my food was undercooked. I cant imagine what the rice was like if the chicken was that gross. They cant cook. They need to get out of the business of cooking in my honest opinion also very rude woman and man.
Quick, friendly service and delicious food. This was my first time eating at Golden Wok Take Out and I'll definitely be going back. Might just get my chicken balls with sauce on the side ! Combo #2 !!
Best Chinese food! Hardly any wait time what so ever. Longest I've ever had to wait is 15 minutes. Love the staff theyre amazing. The ribs are a little tougher than most but a solid 9.8. Highly recommend
I am so disappointed. They used to be so good with fresh tasting food but recently the food has seriously declined in quality...every so often, I get a bad order but now my last few orders have been terrible... Rice was bland/tasteless and mushy, the chowmein tasted "off" like the meat had started to turn bad in it and the garlic spare ribs were very tough and full of grissle. The egg rolls don't taste homemade (taste like the frozen ones you get at the grocery store) and they only have packets of plum sauce...not real stuff made there. The other weird thing is .... Why on earth are they closed on Mondays?

Perfect foid Excelkent , Parking: One disabled parking but usually taken without a permit police next door should check and fine them if they dint have licence, permit or that person with disability not in car ( permit not fot family usage) .

Fast and delicious food.
The food was very lousy the chicken chow mein had only I peice of chicken if lucky chicken fried rice had only few tiny peices of chicken and none of it had any flavor at all wont be back anytime soon

Great place for Chinese food
this is by far the best Chinese food in the city I think it is so well-prepared and so well organized and very filling the staff do a really good job here at preparing the food you can tell that they work really hard and put in a lot of effort at making their food stand out from some of the other places I highly recommend anybody looking for a good Chinese restaurant to check out this location you wont be disappointed cant wait to come back here and eat again with my colleagues real soon.

I had Golden wok during the pandemic after they re-opened, and I was impressed with the food and friendly service. IMHO its the best chinese food in Saint John!!!!
Ordered chicken soo gai, pork fried rice and shrimp chow mein with noodles. They forgot the noodles and the chicken. I called them and they argued saying you didnt order the chicken we talked about it but you didnt order it. I didnt write it down????????????? We ordered on speaker phone with multiple people present to confirm. Arguing with customers is never a good sign. The food we did manage to get was greasy and bland. AVOID.

I find their food disgusting . Anyone who actually eats chinese food knows that honey garlic ribs should be cooked enough for the meat to almost full off the bone, not to be chewed on like a dog toy. The chow mein should not have lettuce in it , there are alot of people who has that diverticulosis and cant eat lettuce. It is ridiculous to have lettuce in it to begin with. Chicken balls were extremely soggy ,sauce was very running. Thats the second time I went there and was very disappointed.

Asked for lunch specials and they didnt have any. Who doesnt have lunch specials? My wife said the rice tasted identical to minute maid rice and they just used little sweet and sour sauce packets for the chicken balls instead of an in house sauce. Wont be going back again.

I would not recommend golden Wok for those looking for a traditional eat-in Chinese restaurant. But if you want generous portions of reasonably tasty Chinese fast food, its the place to go.

This place has my favorite Chinese food in the city. Very delicious and inexpensive. Portions are very large, my wife and I usually split a combo 3 and its more than enough for supper.

Not sure why they got 4 stars. Perhaps they dont have any competition. I was visiting from Ottawa and found the food to be average. The portions were half what I would have expected and she shrimps cut to make it look like there was more. Really not somewhere I would recommend but little choice around.

my first time ordering from there is certainly my last! high prices for such low quality of food...the taste is average at best more filling than satisfying.
The portions are more than generous, the service is very fast and friendly, and it is extremely economical. However the fare is very heavily skewed towards Canadian-style Chinese, with emphasis placed more on filling you up than pleasing the palate. Their chow-mein is about 80% cabbage with the remainder being meat and mushrooms, their fried rice omits scallion and egg which results in it being extremely bland. The Shrimp in Lobster Sauce, while being made of fresh good quality ingredients is a greasy pork gravy masquerading as an asian dish. Good for picky kids; not so much if you actually appreciate Chinese cuisine.
