Food is great and you get a free soup and green tea with every meal to snack on while you wait for your meal. Just wish they were open at 3 so I could get my lunch there.

I have been here multiple times, and now after my latest visit I can provide new feedback. The restaurant has always had a phenomenal atmosphere but the thing that impressed me was that with every guest that left, all the staff would thank them for their visit. Small details like this is what makes people want to come back, that and the food is amazing as always!

Came here and got food poisoning so bad I was in the hospital after 6 days. The fish was not fresh and discoloured, service was very cold.

Overpriced sushi. $36 for 8 piece sushi and 6 rolls. It was okay but there are places for Sushi in Saint John I would rather go. It is a bit crazy. They use to charge $18 years ago and that is much more reasonable. I can see prices going up some but double is a bit much.

Simply beautiful quality. Used to frequent top end places before and they can surely roll with them (excuse the pun). They also treat the regular customers very well.

The nigiri are huge and good flavours! The rolls were ok, nothing too special there. Overpriced for what you get for sure, but still tasted good. Probably wouldnt go back tho

One of the earliest sushi restaurants in Saint John and the quality has been up and down over the years. Lots of vegetarian options, but there are better choices for sushi in Saint John. Prices are good and the inside has been updated fairly recently.

This place is absolutely scrumdiddly! Sushi was fresh and flavourful, prices were reasonable, and I LOVE their menu showing the ingredients in each roll with stars beside cooked vs raw rolls. The service was top knotch as well. I ll be back for sure :)

I can only speak for their sushi rolls. Go anywhere else. Do not waste your money here. Rice to filling ratio, and lack of flavour, is not worth the price you pay. Better bang for your buck, and better taste, at Sobeys.(not recommending there either, but it is better than here). Dont know the rest of the menu, so cannot speak to that. They were quick in service though.

Service was very friendly but was a very slow wait considering it was only me and my partner there. Tried the California roll & the dynamite roll, was okay, but the rice lacks flavour. They didn t put sesame seeds either which I typically am use to, which made for even lack of flavour. Don t think I will be back based on lack of flavour, and the price is just about the same as any other sushi joint. Quick side note, we went on Dec 2, it was freezing inside with only a box heater on

Ordered the grilled eel with rice. Very good taste! (It just got cold fast due to blizzard maybe) with salad, miso soup, and green tea. All for $21+ after hst $25. reasonable price with good atmosphere and polite asian service. I will be a repeat customer.

In terms of quality this place is up there, the sashimi is buttery soft and delicious. Nice large sized pieces of fish in the rolls, sashimi is decent sized. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for here. Having been so disappointed with Naru in Fredericton Im happy to know I can go here when I am in Saint John. We spent $100 for two, the same in Naru. Night and day in terms of quality and portion sizes.

Great service, the staff were very kind and the food was amazing, the food display was great and very tasty, everything was fresh and the apatizers were great.

We went there on Saturday for supper. The atmosphere was nice and the servers were great. We order a few things. I ordered a black dragon roll, my oldest ordered a caterpillar roll, my wife ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl and my youngest ordered a bowl of rice with salmon sashimi. The meal was mediocre at best. The presentation of the rolls were not authentic. In my meal, it was just 2 rows of 4 small maki pieces with eel on top and for my son it was the same but with avocado. The rolls were very small, lacked flavor and presentation. For my wifes meal, they added too much cabbage to the meal, making it taste very blend instead of the sweetness that usually comes with those dishes. And for my youngest, he expected to get a bit more than just 1/2 a cup of rice. In all, the meal came to roughly 90$ and we left the restaurant still hungry. I have eaten in many Japanese restaurants and sushi bars. When a roll is ordered, it must look like its description. For example, a dragon roll would look like a shape of a dragon, a rainbow roll would be very colorful like a rainbow, etc. So unfortunately I give it 1 star for the service, 1 star for the atmosphere. The price does not reflect well the presentation of the food we were served. A bit disappointing. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day.

I was excited to try Sense of Tokyo again after living away for many years. Unfortunately my experience left a sour taste when, after an hour of waiting, the server came to our table to inform us that our order had been lost. For such a small establishment Im shocked it took this long to notice. Despite the bad service I was still handed a bill for my drink which I paid (although in retrospect I should have maybe just left). Terrible experience and one that should be reviewed by management on how to handle in future.

Frist time ordering from there and got the fried sweet potato roll- really tasty :) Im vegan and they put all of the roles we ordered in the same box, but ended up remaking mine so Id be able to eat it. Great customer service Vegetarian options: If youre ordering make sure to ask for your food in separate boxes !

I don t understand what the high ratings are about for this place. I found my meal unsatisfactory and prices too high for what you get. My advice is avoid if you can.

The sushi was AMAZING. It was all very fresh, tasted great, and we were super happy with everything we ordered. We were also given miso soup to start, it was super tasty.

Only good thing about this place was the service. Everything else was just disgusting. The restaurant smells musty, is in need of serious updating and not appealing to dine in at all. I was served a bottle of water that one of the staff had opened and taken a sip from and then put back in the cooler. The sushi and sashimi were stale, you can tell by the discoloration of the fish they used. Probably freezer burnt but still served to the customer. And worst of all, this place puts cream cheese in their some of their sushi rolls. First and last meal here.

Normally, a family of six would eat for about $240. The eel rice is very good.

We got takeout, (takoyaki, caterpillar roll, and soft shell crab roll, miso soup.) It was delicious! Best sushi Ive had in Saint John, hands down. The takoyaki was a nice treat, hard to find this dish! I will be a repeat customer. Thanks!

Amazing staff and great food at an even better price

We had such a lovely meal last night. We always get the sushi pizza, which is outstanding, and angry caterpillar and tuna rolls. We got another roll of something which was delicious too, and tempura vegetables. It seems like they pickle their own ginger, delicious! Service was excellent as usual.

Ive been a long time customer of SOT, at least for the last 10 years. Ive always had a very positive experience, but this evening when I came in, all I could smell was a very strong musty basement-like smell that would not dissipate. It was very humid as well, and I asked if they could turn on the AC, but it really did not improve the atmosphere. I really hope that they take care of the smell, because it is very distracting.

We ordered 5 rolls and a seafood salad and it was very delicious. Freshly made food and the restaurant was very clean.

Decent sushi and sashimi. Fast service.

Went for dinner here tonight with a group. Our waitress was very attentive to the group. I had the Tokyo Sushi, and Takoyaki (ended up taking home Onigiri to eat later). The Takoyaki had a great flavour and the portions of fish on the nigiri (Tokyo Sushi) was very generous. Presentation was great and everything was delicious. Will definitely be back! Itadakimasu!

Recently stopped by for a late dinner. Having never been there before we didnt realize they were closing in like 15 min. The amazing staff never even blinked they were so friendly and the service was quick and the food absolutely delicious.

Very good service and excellent sushi for a reasonable price. Went at an off time and it was super quiet and chill. Our server was at our table at all the right moments to make sure we were happy and had refills as needed.

Food is good but to have take out is impossible. You ask for a take out they you hear no sorry.

I usually really like sense of Tokyo but the last few times that I have been there have not been the best. I can easily understand when you are busy and understaffed that it may be more difficult to accommodate some dietary restrictions. If you feel that it is not easily done at all times, then do not offer that service. I am not trying to make your job any more difficult by asking for that option. I asked for the gluten free options, as I cannot eat gluten, and was told that because they were too busy that it was not an option. I then had to pick from the regular menu, which has no ingredients for the food, and was not given many options. If you cannot offer that service at all times then have other easy options that can be done instead.

It was highly recommended to come here by many locals. We like sushi and have tried many. Going inside, they have many pictures and slideshows on TV that show really nice and amazing presentation and quality sushi. We ordered 3-4 different dishes to try a bit of everything and none of them lives up to expectations. They were good but presentation was lacking. Friendly waitress.
