Wonderfully prepared food in a great fun environment. Thank you Jose for all of your choices when we decided to do a chef’s choice for our table of 4. Every plate was delicious and mouth watering, you can’t go wrong with whatever dish you order! We will be back soon.
Great attention to walked in, didn't felt left behind. Thomas was my bartable server. Great service comes with great smile. The environment is clean, warm, welcome, and well-maintained and -decorated. Foods are nicely plated and delicious! Highly recommended for date nights, family's resto night, friends get-together, even company events. Price range above average.
The food is excellent, I would highly recommend this place if you like Mexican food. Its more expensive than your average Mexican place but I think considering the quality of the dishes the prices are fair.
Great mexican style food. Excellent service with a relaxing atmosphere that fits all occasions. Was there for a Xmas work party and everyone left satisfied. I highly recommend for intimate dinners, or even if you just want to try something different. Bon appetite.
Waited 2 weeks to get a table here but probably wont go back. The restaurant itself was beautiful and great ambiance. We were super excited when we got in but left beyond disappointed. Our apps were delicious, I had guac and chips my husband had chicharron but our main dishes were overpriced and not so good. My tacos, 3 for $18 were basically pulled pork and red onions, i had not side dish because the guacamole was plentiful. My partner got the pork chop and it was mostly fat, he had to cut most of it off and wasnt cooked enough. He paired it with the Mexican french fries. We were very upset it didnt live to our expectation and I am Latino, so I know good Mexican/Latinamerican food and this place could improve.

Great addition to Uptown Saint John! We tried Abuelita’s tonight for the first time with a group of 4 and it did not disappoint. Our table had a number of items from the menu and everything was exceptional. Top picks (some pictured below): Chicken Flautas, Birria Croquettes, Guac + Chips, Braised short ribs, Carne Asada, Birria Tacos, Broccolini and the Mexican fries. Would also highly recommend the Brazilian Limeade for anyone looking for a mock tail ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely beautiful!! Service was excellent & food was awesome!! We had our Xmas party there for over 30 staff & everyone had a blast , thoroughly enjoyed everything!!
Tried this new place: food was OK but nothing really jumped out as outstanding especially when you factor in the price (a lonely porkchop on a plate + rice on a side plate was $32; $30 for a vegetarian pasta dish is a bit much given the portion size); the service was excellent; but what we didnt expect and definitely didnt like is the family table we were made to sit at at rather uncomfortable metal chairs - it is one long table that sat possibly 20 patrons (or what looked like approx 40% of the available seats) so you are potentially literally elbow to elbow with complete strangers and have to listen to their conversation (or vice versa) - and while this might appeal to some, it was not our preference. We asked to sit at a table instead (we had made a reservation) but the only other option offered was for the 3 of us to sit awkwardly at a table for 2, next to the door. Instead, we did sit at the big table and found it impossible to carry on a conversation due to the noise. We also noticed the empty table for 4 we asked to sit at was still empty when we left....
Beautiful space and the food is solid. Fun for a hang out and chat with drinks and snacks.
Went there last night. The portions are pretty small and overpriced for what you get. My girlfriend and I shared the queso and chips - the queso was flavorless. For our mains she got the Birria tacos and I got the street corn pasta. Her tacos were ok. My dish was just canned corn with a tomato Alfredo sauce for $30?!?! lol the price is a joke when the dish itself is a) vegetarian and b) not authentic c) lacking in flavor. Our drinks were tasty. Overall, I d go back for the cocktails but not for the food. The restaurant Casa Latina on the west side is way better. They have traditional Latin food , good size portions and actual flavor! The atmosphere and service at Abuelitas however was great but the food is underwhelming. We left the restaurant still hungry and wishing we went to Casa Latina instead

The atmosphere was great! We had the streak, quesadillas, and the flautas, and all of them were A+. The owner came and chatted with us for a hit and seemed like such a genuine person. Highly recommend!
Authentic Mexican cuisine, a must try Saint John , affordable, Carne Asada was a 10/10. All the appetizers are guaranteed to please. The right amount of spice to enhance the flavour, something for everyone. Great service, quality food.

Booked a reservation for my fiancé birthday, this spot is amazing. This what Saint John needed, very classy spot. The drinks and food were great. Perfect spot to bring a first date or anniversary!
