The atmosphere was very well decorated and bright, clean, the waiters service was excellent and the food was delicious. The price I thought was fair for the amount of food they offer, we shared a full dish between two people and still had some left over. I recommend!

Lovely place for a date night dinner for my husband and me. Food was good. Our falafel was hot and fresh and so tasty. All of the skewers were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I thought the chicken shawarma I got was dry, but the potatoes and salad that came with it were well seasoned. Nice dessert options, but we were so full from the big dinner plates that I couldnt eat another bite. I would try again!

I was so wowed by the food at Taste of Egypt. They have familiar dishes like shawarma and also some ethnique choices available. Portions are hearty and well worth the price point. If you love Baklavah like myself I believe this restaurant to get the best baklava in Saint john.

Not only will you walk like an Egyptian after Tasting their Delictable Quisine you will, Strut Like King Tut !! My daughter and I Had the Caprese Burger omfg Sooooooo Friggin Flavorful !! Such a Beautifully Herby taste on the Tastebuds and The Fries.......Thicker than a snicker and both soft on the inside and Crunchy on the outside. My wife had the Fallafa Balls... I did try a bit of it and it was Delicious as well Herby with Crunch and a Very Flavourful Sauce. The Decor is pretty cool and the Seating it was as Comfortable as your fathers Comfy Chair .The most comfortable Restaurant Ive been to yet. Thanks Taste of Egypt. Been twice for dine in. Great service, fresh food, tasty.

Went at 5pm on a Tuesday and we were the only people in the restaurant for the duration of our meal. The service from Tanner was amazing, the food was great and the portions were huge. Great to take home for lunch the next day. The menu seems to serve much of the same food at lunch for less money. If we happen try this restaurant again, it will likely only be for lunch, 11-4.

My husband and I were in St John for one night prior to catching the ferry to Digby, NS. We love Mediterranean food and try to find these restaurants wherever we are. Taste of Egypt was an excellent choice! Our server was great! There was a slight issue with the lentil soup I ordered. When I told him it didn t taste good to me, he did not question me but quickly took it away and brought the chickpea soup out. But, when he found out the spices and salt had not been added to the lentil soup prior to serving due to an oversight, he brought a bowl of the corrected lentil soup for me to try. The lentil soup and the chickpea soup were delicious! The chicken shawarma was the best we have ever had anywhere! We had a vegetable entree that we shared. Everything on it was so good! We would definitely eat here again if we are back in St John!

We ordered chicken curry with rice, chicken shawarma, pita and baba ganoush. All were great, the shawarma was tender and moist, the yogurt dip delicious. Rice was flavorful and salad was fresh and tasty. Place was spacious and clean. Highly recommend.

I supposed we had expected something more authentically Egyptian but the fare was pretty much the standard Middle Eastern westernized fair. Sorry, there was little in the way of original dishes to try. The restaurant is also not licensed but the mocktail we tried was nicely refreshing and well presented.

Been here a few times and the service has always been impeccable. Quick, friendly and thorough. The mocktails are really really good - honestly dont care they dont serve alcohol. Food has been quick and excellent. Slightly limited menu for vegetarians (but still enough to choose from) and the falafels seem a little inconsistent... But since they have ranged from good, to omg, best I ever had! - I wont dock a star :) . Great Turkish coffee as well. Ive been to the Middle East for work and theirs took me right back.

Always the best choice for Middle Eastern cuisine, have been their loyal customer since 2019. Their Kebab platter definitely the best but also their lentils soup is my one of favourite!

Our first time at Taste of Egypts new location at East Point shopping center. We arrived on a Friday at 11:30 as lunch was starting. Exterior: New building shared with Taco Boyz. Parking lot is new with ample space for the seats in the restaurant. Entrace: The atmosphere throughout the restaurant has been appointed to provide an authentic Egyptian vibe with replicated egyptian artifacts and symbology throughout. The ceiling has black sheets draped to give a bit of a streets of Cairo vibe complete with regional music Service: During lunch, front of house duties and service were handled, attentively, by the same server. She made 3 rounds before our mains were even served and 6 or 7 rounds total. This shows me that staffing numbers are wisely managed to balance the business and the service. Food: For our appetizer, we selected what we thought could be the most authentic experience. We selected Arayes (GF+DF) for $14.00 (at the time of posting) it consists of grilled beef kofta, cooked in pita bread, served with our house garlic mayonnaise and hot sauce. Think of a thin hambuger with a pita bun, except this burger has a far deeper taste profile that you would expect from the region. My wifes lunch selection included a lentil soup appetizer. I expected plain bland lentil soup. Instead, we were greeted with a blended soup that had a layered and yet smooth taste and consistency that was delightful. Both were fun, had great taste, and had perfect texture. The meat in the Arayes was juicy, and the pita was soft. For our mains, again, I selected what I hoped to be the most authentic experience, and my wife selected a more fusion dish. I selected the Key of life as my main (GF) for $25.00, a plate of hummus, topped off with chicken shawarma. Served with garden salad and pita bread. I judge the passion for food creation and for the customer experience from the back of the house in the little details. I judge management based on little details as well. My plate hummus was shaped into a heart, the dressing for my house salad had an excellent taste balance and was a simple yet elegant mix of Olive oil, vinegar and Oregano. A restaurants management can manage one of two ways and I look at a salad at the start of the day to help me with this. Management can instruct the back of the house to save any remaining prepped fresh veg at the end of the previous day to be used up first at the start of the next day OR they can instruct the back of the house to ALWAYS use fresh. We were the second people in for dinner at restaurant opening, the other customers didnt get salad and my lettuce wad cut fresh. That is very important to me....the little details. My pita was moist and fresh and my hummus was excellent as was the chicken it came with. My wife selected the falafel burger with greek potatoes. It was the best falafel she ever had and the greek potatoes were on point. Her selection came with baklava for desert. We have had it at many of the Mediterranean themed restaurants in the area and this offering trumped all of their BAR NONE. It was flaky and fresh it had not been sitting for days it was presented fresh and crisp, from the base to the flakey top. One other thing that made me feel like the customer was put first: the tap water is filtered. There are not many restaurants in Saint John that add that detail. Facility: 10/10 Authenticity: 9/10 Food: 9/10 Service: 10/10 Overall: 9.5/10 I doubt you will find a better egyptian dining experience. Our first time in Saint John. We looked for a Persian restaurant, but we didn t find one, so we decided to try an Egyptian meal for the first time. We liked the taste. The only thing that I would recommend to make the meal even better is to cook rice a bit more oily. The rice was so dry. We used salad dressing to make it a bit oily. Besides that, the restaurant is well-designed, and it feels like being in Egypt our waitress was so welcoming, and everything was so clean and pleasant. Overall I would recommend trying.

The service was fast and our waiter was very kind. I found the prices are reasonable as you get pretty big portions of quality food. The restaurant was tidy, and had a great mood to it. Vegetarian options: Good selection of vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: A good portion of the menu is gluten AND lactose friendly, with the rest having the option of alterations to make them as such. As opposed to what I find in a lot of places, the vegan/vegetarian/gluten and lactose free options werent bland at all which was nice to see. Kid-friendliness: There was a kids menu with regard for children who may not be as adventurous with their palate yet. Kids orders come with the usual crayons to keep them busy. And with mocktails it makes the whole experience a lot of fun for all ages.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here! One of our favorite things to do while traveling is try new kinds of food that we don t have access to at home, and we were not disappointed. We had the vegetarian mousakka, falafel, and arayes, then finished off with Turkish coffee and the basbousa cake. Everything was delicious and all of the employees were so friendly. I love everything about Taste of Egypt! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is classy, perfect for groups of friends or a couple. I ve even gone by myself with my young kids and they love it also. The service is impeccable and everything is delicious! The Key of Life dish is a must try. I had a highly disappointing experience at Taste of Egypt. The food quality was shockingly low, making the entire dining experience a complete waste of time and money. Its hard to believe that such substandard fare is being served under the banner of Egyptian cuisine. The dishes lacked any semblance of authenticity, and the flavors were an absolute disaster. It seemed like the ingredients were of poor quality and poorly prepared, as if they were hastily thrown together without any consideration for taste or presentation. The service was equally abysmal. The staff appeared indifferent and disinterested, and it took an eternity for our orders to arrive. When the food did finally make its appearance, it was cold and unappetizing. The ambiance of the restaurant was dull and uninviting, with an overall lack of cleanliness that made me question the restaurants commitment to basic hygiene standards. Overall, my experience at Taste of Egypt was a regrettable one. I would strongly advise anyone considering dining at this establishment to reconsider and find an alternative. This restaurant falls far below the mark, offering an unpleasant and lackluster dining experience that fails to deliver on any level. Save your money and your taste buds and steer clear of this place.

I have known the owner for sometime and I had the chance to visit the restaurant couple of times ,which were all satisfying,while I was residing Saint John. Its really sad to see people throwing rating based on political stand rather than actual experience they may have had, I have noticed a continuous 1 star rating for past week just as a payback for owners spouse request to cease fire at city hall for the ongoing war. I understand how biased world we might be living in but some integrity all we need just a little of it so we can still believe we deserve to be called Humans.

My husband and I had an amazing time at the Taste of Egypt. The food was excellent, the service was impeccable and the restaurant is clean and beautiful. I have also brought my mom and brother to the restaurant when they visited some time ago and they loved taste of Egypt as well. We will definitely be back.

Ate here a couple weeks ago with my spouse, we really enjoyed the atmosphere, the waitress was very attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious! We had the Shisha Tawook, and shrimp, as well as the basbousa for dessert, was fabulous, glad to be able to get Egyptian food in Saint John!

This restaurant is a very nice place to eat! Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, the food is fantastic. You call tell everything is fresh and made to order, the flavour and portions are on point.
