Was amazed with service even though I haven't been there since 2015 excellent Donaire pizza and maybe one of the best pizza 🍕 restaurants in Saint John
First of all I live East St. John, I happen to be on the North end so I stopped into big Daddy's and ordered a 12-in pizza when I get home with it myself and even my two children could not eat it as It was extremely salty to the point of not being able to eat it I called up to speak to the manager who took my pizza order and explained to him what happened. He offered to make me another pizza telling me that their pizzas never have any complaints and everybody loves their pizza looking at the reviews that is not so their donaires seem to have a good rating but their pizzas are very inconsistent. Instead of refunding my money and have me as a returning customer ordering something else they serve, he opt for a bad review versus a happy customer.? I am a business owner and my motto is to keep my customers happy so they will return and possibly refer a friend. So very poor business from the manager of big Daddy's unless you love salt equaling the amount that's on three bags of chips. I don't advise you to invest or waste your money on their pizza
First off - I ain't no chump. Took me three years to finally try this place. Super friendly staff, amazing value: THESE PIZZAS ARE SQUARE!! Good amount of toppings, dispersed evenly & with care, tasty sauce - kinda sweet & smoky? Great dough - quite light with a good crunch. Decent amount of cheese. Great on my gut (which is unusual with pizza for me)... Place was clean, two dudes working the ovens, having a couple laughs. Pizza was HOT, ontime...possibly the best dollars for donuts in SJ right now. Was truly impressed, as were my peeps. Maybe more garlic + butter on the cheese fingers? But jeez - they really knocked it outta the park. And so darn friendly. You don't get that sometimes here...I was honestly surprised! Not the usual SJ, "Yeah, what can I getcha?" as if they're doin' YOU a favour 🤪
Food quality isn't consistent, really depends on who's working. When you order the same thing frequently. I don't order extras, I don't expect for the entire bottom of my Donair to give out. Sloppy made and the gentleman on the phone wanted to complaint Book it and remake for next day when they close at 1am I called them at 1120 to let them know. I didn't order food to eat it the next day.
I had a donair sub. It was my first experience with anything donair. The bun was nice and fresh and the taste of everything worked well. There was a bit of a sweetness in something (maybe a sauce, but it didn't seem saucy) that was a bit too sweet for my personal preference, but it didn't ruin it for me. I loved the garlic butter and that definitely elevated the taste of the sub for me.
I love pizza, and being from out of town, it's often fun to try new pizza places. That's what brought me to Big Daddy's pizza. The location is in a strip mall. The location has 3 or 4 tables, but I'll be honest, it's wintertime and I know a pizza oven can get warm, but I froze while waiting for my pizza (I didn't order in advance). The cold restaurant is my only negative. The food: I ordered a 15" three topping pizza. Their pizzas are square (at least mine was). The pizza was cooked perfectly. I had read some reviews where people didn't like the sauce, but I thought the sauce was amazing, but I get that it is a personal preference. Pizza was fresh and hot, and the toppings were generous. I normally don't eat cold pizza, but without a way to heat it up as I am staying in a hotel, there was no way I was leaving any behind. It was still good cold! Next time I'm in Saint John and looking for pizza, Pizza Daddy will be on my list!
Decent spot, the food is okay to be honest. It would definitely hit when you're drunk and need something to eat late night. Had the donair sub and while the meat was good the sauce was way too sweet. If the sauce wasn't as sweet it would have been really good. The wings could have been cooked a bit longer. The pizza was pretty good as well.
Always very delicious and the sweetest people working there. The place is not really cosy to eat in but the food and people make up for that Food

My first time eating there. Its something about the pizza sauce I just found my new favorite pizza and they arent cheap on their toppings
If I could give this a zero star I would called to place an order for my family for supper was told that traffic was too bad to deliver to the west side today wouldnt even take my order till after 6pm, I work for a delivery service traffic was not backed up also wasnt even put on hold had to listen to six people yell about taking a delivery to the west side didnt even have the courtesy to put me on hold just yelled on the phone I only order for the chicken wings always find their Pizza undercooked lacking in sauce and they always forget my dips.

I will say first, Ive been there on lunch. There was two ladies who were very nice and friendly. The personal sized pizza was okay minus the pepperoni being under the cheese why would i want soggy, uncooked meat on my pizza? The men who work here are generally rude and off putting. I asked a simple question about time as I was on my lunch break and they snapped at me. Seeming as your establishment is now in competition with pizza pizza across the street, Id get your customer service skills polished because Ive spoken to many people with the same experience. The quality of ingredients is as expected, the same as dominos or any other fast food chain. Eat it quick or your hardened slab of cheese makes it borderline unedible. I have concern for them as pizza pizza is across the street and this place is only beaten by pizza delight for disappointment. Though I havent built the courage to try Romanos, the pictures alone are enough to keep me away.

The subs are very good, but I was disappointed with the pizza. The tomato sauce tasted undercooked. The staff were friendly and very efficient; my phone-in order was waiting when I arrived.
Everytime I eat here I regret it badly. It makes no sense because the food taste good but for the second time now, Ive eaten a pepperoni pizza and gotten basically food poisoned from this place. Guts start hurting, then it comes out of both ends. Check your dates on your sauces or something. Insanley dehydrated and soar from this experience. The pizza actually hurts you.
Bought from then numerous times, usually just their Manhandler its like an all meat from any other place just named differently, I bugged then to cut their biggest pizza up until smaller boxes so I could fit it in my fridge, they had no problem doing it, definitely recommend them to anyone.
Great price and pizza.
This was my first visit to Big Daddys Pizza Shop, it wont be my last. I ordered a small pizza with pepperoni, bacon, onion and extra cheese, I was not disappointed! The toppings are good quality and they didnt skimp on the cheese! It was delicious! The pleasant young man behind the counter told me that they make their own pizza dough daily, it is excellent. He also told me that they make their own donair sauce as well. Im looking forward to seeing how good that is when I get a donair on my next visit.
Food is terribly sloppy the last few months... Will NEVER order their Donaire again last time I ordered one it looked more like donair bowl or salad poorly wrapped in tin foil. Pizza has still been good thankfully although would recommend avoiding their salads also as their mostly lettuce and NO dressing. Staff assigned to phones and orders have VERY poor communication skills and are often not able to speak English fluently enough to understand customers. Not enough delivery drivers, food is often delivered cold.

Half the garlic fingers were burnt and hard and we were missing our donair sauces. The garlic fingers literally had zero taste to them. Pizza was great though!

Well, firstly, I would like to clarify that I am not related to anyone at Big Daddys nor do I know anyone working there. I was visiting family in Saint John and we decided to get pizza for a family get together. I dont know any pizza establishments in SaintJohn, as I live in Dartmouth, so we decided to support local and try Big Daddys. I ordered two meat lovers pizzas from a lovely gentleman named Mac. He was very helpful and friendly. He made the ordering easy and when I arrived to pick up the pizzas they were piping hot, fresh out of the oven. 10 minutes later we sat down to dig in,and the pizzas were still hot. I order pizza in Dartmouth fairly often but nothing compared to the square meat lovers we devoured. I was impressed with the crust that was not greasy, great toppings and delicious sauce. It was very tasty. So much so, that the night before I was driving back to Nova Scotia, I had to have another Big Daddys pizza. Definitely my go to pizza place whenever I visit Saint John.

Called at 1:20am after a night out with my friends and was told the pizza would be there shortly. Waited patiently until around 3:00am. Called again at that time and was greeted with excuses about the delivery service and how they had no way of getting ahold of them and said that the 3rd party delivery service ended at 2am even though we placed the order 20 minutes after 1am. They then said that they would get our order remade and send it out asap. Again, we waited until 3:45am and we called back to see where the pizza was and they instantly got defensive and accused us of threatening them when we just wanted to know where the pizza was and when it would arrive. We told them that since we waited 2.5 hours we would not be paying for the pizza because waiting that long for delivery is a bit ridiculous. They then resorted to cussing, yelling and completely talking over us on the phone. In all they have horrible customer service and will not be ordering from them again which is a shame because all of my previous experiences with them has been great until now. Ps we never got the pizza

Called order in, when we arrived the order had been lost, resulting in us having to wait again. Usually, businesses offer a small discount or additional product to keep their customers happy. The order was also wrong and the pizza was so spicy , my husband and children couldnt eat it. I used to like this place but I wont go back.
I wish there was a plus option here. Because the pizza was quite good.. the dough was much like homemade. There was an abundance of toppings. The only negative thing I can say was about the sauce. We all found it spicy ( and a little more then we like on it). I had one slice.... and ibs... I was in agony all night... so Because of that... unfortunately we wont be back.. Parking: Typical mall parking lot.. didnt seem to busy. Wheelchair accessibility: Same as parking... there was a ramp and a side walk.

Absolutely amazing! Super friendly staff, great deals and prices, fantastic quality, and they are open late! No other pizza place in Saint John is open until 4am on weekends. Being a shift worker, I find them very convenient. I highly recommend. Their Hawaiin pizza is incredible. Thank you for the wonderful service. Of course, I will be back!
I always loved big daddys one of my favorites ,but we ordered our subs 2 hrs ago, still nothing. We call just to be told it would be another 10 minutes and still waiting, very frustrating.

the donair was good. the pizza...was also good, but it wasnt cooked enough, we had to put it in the oven when we got home to make the slices separate without tearing it in half. it was great after we did, but the fact we did was kinda annoying. the staff are friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the food is great, if they do it right. which isnt always. still, this is a pretty good place. ask for ya pizza well done!

Pizza was awesome, but when delivered they stacked our pasta on top and all the cheese on the pizza was stuck to the top of the box, luckily i was able to save it. The fettuccine alfredo was amazing coming from a pizza shop. The spaghetti and meatballs was meh and weirdly spiced, it had cinnamon or cumin in it. The meatballs were like eating old boots.
The customer service cant be beat. She was obviously enjoying her job, so friendly. There was so much to choose from and we did get a slice to go as well as a Donair sub with double meat, it was fabulous. We also had chicken wings which are baked, not fried, they were ok. Promise we will be back.

Veggie sub with Donair Sauce. One guy said was the 3rd person in 9 months to order a veggie sub and the other guy had never made one. Both were very friendly and the sub was awesome. Theyre the top rated pizza joint in town according to trip advisor so I was hoping their oven baked subs would be as good and it was awesome.

Placed an order at 1am, and was confirmed it will, get there as fast as poossible and was given a deliver price. Waited 2 hours till 3am patiently, maybe too patiently. I called and they said they cant find my order, and then eventually said a lady called and cancelled the order for my address. sounds like an excuse. First of all Im male, and there no possible way some random female called and cancelled my order for my specific address. This is impossible. Nonsense, lies, and mismanagement.
Tonight is last time I will order here again. Food was ok no cusromer service at all. Didnt mean to put the fella out by paying for the $55 meal. Wow not even a nice hello or thank you nothing. Ignored the waiting ppl in store invluding the elderly woman who came i. After me. Price is reasonable but id pay more elsewhere to be appreciated as a paying customer.

Hi, I plan to visit Big Daddys one day. He looks like a stellar gentleman, who could easily have my heart with his (I presume) amazing food. My friend, Jordyn, has told me all about Big Daddy and his delicious meat, I look very forward to one day, sampling Big Daddys exquisite spread. I plan to visit, roughly, sometime, in 2021. If you see, a tall THICCC gentlemen with a rough, course Scottish accent, more than likely dressed in a red lumberjack shirt, then rest assured, that is more than likely myself. You either love Big Daddys, or you do not. I do! (Just havent been able to visit lately). EDIT: I loved there pizza and donairs. I still get a Donair Pizza now and then. Emotional eating, eh? But last time it had no lettuce, tomato, and the thinnest glazing of donair sauce. I still ate it, but I cried. Thanks a lot #bigdaddys you made me cry.

Fantastic in-house made crust and sauce with fresh toppings. Alotta great pizza and great pricing. Locally owned and operated as an extra bonus. Much better pizza than the chain stores. Love it!!

Big Daddys pizza is a guaranteed stop any time we are in Saint John. The last time my mother-in-law came to visit us in Ontario she brought up a pizza for my wife - that should say enough! The pizza is great and they have the best donairs in Saint John. The prices are good with a 15 pizza starting at $13.99. They are locally owned and the owner works at the store too.
