Great service great price great food

Portions are huge. Great value. Simple but good menu. I dont get to St. Johns that often, but each time I do, this is the place for dinner for us. Its been 3 or 4 trips stopping over in St. Johns and weve eaten here each time.

Ordered a Hawaiian pizza with anchovies and it was honest to god the worst pizza I have ever had in my entire life. The crust wasnt burnt, but it was just hard and overcooked enough to be at the point where it tasted chemically and was so hard the lava hot toppings slid of like it was piece of slate. Evidently the crust proved too strong for the pizza cutter because half the pizza wasnt cut properly, which made a lovely time of pulling the hardened bread apart while the toppings are sliding off with no attachment to what is the bread that it is laying on top of. Not to mention alien treatment from the staff who appeared to be having dinner, who questioned my presence while I waited for this abomination of a pizza. Literally would have rather paid not to interact with this pizza place

Id give this a 5 star rating but they dont accept debit so its a 4 for me. Food is best in town though which lets be real is why we all go there. Dont matter what ya order it is going to be good

Ate there tonight for the first time, it was excellent , our waitress Corina was the best, the fettuccine polo with chicken was to die for, so creamy and delicious, the works Pizza was yummmmmy and our starter of Greek salad was so good, cant say enough good about this visit, we will definitely be returning for another great meal !!

Ordered Works Pizza & Garlic Fingers for take out. I did not find neither very good, & the donair sauce was watery. I wanted to support local restaurants so I am hoping to have better luck next time.

I have to say i am sorely disappointed with this restaurant. I am a former resident of Saint John who moved away many years ago. As a kid i used to eat at Romanos regularly and we teenagers loved their big pizzas. Everytime i come back here i eat at all my old spots. Bobs takeout, Romanos, Grecos. Kind of like a trip down nostalgia lane. Well the last time i was here we ordered a pizza delivered and it was not fully cooked. Dough was raw in the middle and the pizza very greasy. We called in and spoke to a man who was extremely rude. He had no interest in our issues at all and dismissed us out of hand. Passing us off to a nice young lady who feverishly apologized. Explaining that he was the owner and she would take care of us. He was too busy apparently. She sent us out another pizza right away. Problem solved. Due to my soft spot for the place i chalked it up to a one off. Well tonight, after being away for several years, i arrived back in town with family for a few days and as usual, looked forward to eating some food from all my childhood haunts. I called Romanos and tried to order some food. I immediately recognized the voice as the same guy who was a jerk the last time. The owner. Right from the start he was impatient. When asked a couple simple questions about his menu and whether or not he still carried on the menu a dish from before, he became extremely rude. Stating that someone else would take my order. Passing me off and leaving his staff to assuage the customers ruffled feathers as it were. I guess he looked at the phone, saw the out of town area code and decided being a dismissive jerk was ok. Well i can tell you, as a business owner myself, never assume you can treat people like garbage and they will keep coming back. This is the second time. There will not be a third. I will never order here again and thanks for ruining a hometown memory. You are lucky your staff has manners and professionalism. Because you sir, do not!

Some of the best pizza and garlic fingers ever. The reviews complaining about the ingredients in the sauce and thickness of the crust are wild to me. Those folks need to go back to their plain Jane Dominos and Greco and leave the rest to us! Great pizza, authentic ingredients.

Pizza toppings great but was very doughy inside the slices even after 25 min in the oven, all pizza places are the same dough not rising inside but raw. Press and it does not rise again raw

I called to order and there is no website and it was difficult to order as communication was not clear it should have been my warning. I ordered a large pizza and large lasagna and it is disgusting. Both the pizza and lasagna taste the same they have some weird spice in the sauce that makes in inedible. My daughter loves lasagna and she could only have 1 bite. Having had good pizza from Chicago to Vancouver. This is one of the worst. There is something wrong with the reviews if they have 4.4. Pizza pizza is 10 times better which is saying a lot as it just commercial pizza. I just spent $75 to now order elsewhere!!!!!

Great comfort food!

It is a one time visit to this place. I went with high expectations but the only conclusion I can come to is that the place is living off former glory days.

Why the cinnamon man? Why? Based on the comments people don t like it. It doesn t belong in the cuisine you re cooking. I had the chicken parmesan and fettuccini Alfredo. Bottom of my chicken parm was fully charred and inedible. They had covered it with sauce which is not cool. It takes less than 5 mins to fry up a new breaded chicken breast. Pasta was super overcooked and I m almost sure they used yogurt in their cream sauce. The sauce was sour and by the time I got home it was separated. Just like yogurt would, in a curry sauce. Instead of oregano or basil, they had used dry mint in my Alfredo sauce lol what an odd choice. Cinnamon, clove, dry mint and etc don t belong in the menu you re cooking brother man. Listen to people.

The only reason this place still exists is nostalgia. Its like half of Saint John was hit over the head with a bat. This place is ASTOUNDINGLY bad, and anybody looking for a good slice should look elsewhere. Vitos isnt even that great and it runs laps around this place. For the love of pizza, do not waste your time here. No the cinnamon doesnt taste good, you just think it does becsuse youre 65 and cant taste anything.

I ve lived in quite a few provinces and tried a lot of different regions pizzas. From the tasteless, cardboard crust to the sickly sweet cinnamon sauce, Romano s is without hesitation the worst pizza I have ever eaten. The service was friendly until the waitress asked if we would like dessert when there was still a half of pizza sitting on the table and slices on our plates. I felt rushed to finish and leave. Not a good experience on any level.

As soon as I placed my order I regretted ordering from here, buddy on the phone was rude said the pizza was going to be 25 mins so figured they were busy and that s why he was so short on the phone but still no excuse we came to pick up our pizza and garlic finger 35 mins later giving them a little extra time but that didn t do any good because the bacon on our pizza wasn t even cooked! & the seasoning was weird tasting and didn t go with the pizza plus the crust was thick and also not completely cooked. First time eating there and definitely the last.

Been eating this pizza for years, moved to Edmonton and havent found nothing like it since. Best pizza in Canada. Moving back in July cant wait to eat it .

Always on point!!

Our first visit to Romano s. Came in hungry, leaving all 6 senses full. :) We had fried mushroom for appetizer. Not your run-of-the-mill deep fried mushrooms but delicious sautéed in red wine mushrooms. I also had a tossed salad. Vegetable were fresh and crunchy. Unlike most (especially franchise) restaurants, my request for a lemon wedge and olive oil instead of salad dressing was received as normal. Bonus points :) For main dishes I had Fettuccine Alfredo Polo and my wife had Chicken Creole. Both dishes looked and tasted so good, first time in 23 years my wife and I swapped plates halfway. :) Polo: Pasta was cooked just right. Generous amount of chicken pieces smothered in alfredo sauce. Creole: Chicken breast was butterflied and cook well. Generous amount of Rice (which we found out was their own mix) cooked just right; grains were not left wet. Plate comes with a mound of Caesar salad which would be easily enough for two. Our waitress Corinne was very attentive. We mentioned her that it was our first visit. So, while we were having our food and she was serving other tables, she showed us pretty much each plate she served. I though it was very thoughtful of her. So, now we know what to order next time we visit. Delicious food. Superb service. A must try experience. Food: 10/10 Service: 11/10

Waitress was fantastic, portions good size, garlic bread and salads great but the pasta meat sauce was dreadful! We both questioned each other as to the odd aroma upon receiving our entree and then the taste as well. Never had a pasta sauce made with cinnamon. So much cinnamon that it was overpowering. Couldn t finish our meal.

10/10, sauce is unreal

I went here in September because it was the highest rated pizza place in town. I don t know how. I have never thrown pizza away, it s always good even when it s bad, right? There was something off with this pizza. The sauce tasted weirdly sweet and had an odd spice I couldn t place, the pepperoni seemed like it was made of spam, and the crust was way too thick. I had two slices and had to throw the rest away. I was so sad.

Iv eaten romanos twice and there pizza was completely undercooked the first time and had almost nothing on it, the second time i tryed the spaghetti and all i could taste was cinnamon. Vary disappointed both times. Ps maybe you should also check the rolls before you serve them to see if they are dusty dry

The food was good and our waitress was fantastic. However, we got a surprise when we went to pay - they only accept cash and credit card. Strangely not debit which is way cheaper for merchants than credit cards. They didnt have a sign on the door, nor were we told when ordering. When I mentioned to the cashier that they should at least have a sign on the door, he smugly said its been this way for years, which out-of-town visitors like us would never have known.

It pains me to say this, but the food here is really, really, really bad, not bad quality ingredients, but bad preparation and recipes. For starters, the Caesar salad is really sweet tasting, I would venture a guess that they re using donair sauce as a base, and adding Caesar dressing ingredients. Chicken souvlaki, super dry and overcooked, nothing else to say. Pizza, super thick crust, which I don t mind if the crust is good, but there is some type of seasoning in this crust that doesn t work, it tastes like cinnamon, the pizza sauce is closer to a paste. I m not one to let pizza go to waste, even bad pizza, like Little Caesars, I ll still eat, but this is the worst pizza I ve ever eaten, and the only time I ve thrown a pizza in the garbage. When I tried Greco Pizza for the first time last year, I never thought I would ever come across a worse pizza, but this one, I hate to say, is worse. Romanos needs to have someone re-do their menu and their recipes.

We stopped overnight in Saint John on our way to Halifax, and the staff at the hotel we went to recommended this place. I m here to tell you that I don t quite understand the 4.5 stars. The wait staff was interesting, and kinda rude. They seemed confused when my mom told them she didn t need silverware because we were eating pizza, no quite sure how else you re supposed to eat pizza. First of all, the Caesar Salad has bacon on it, which was not on the menu, and I m not particularly fond of bacon, and didn t expect it on Caesar Salad. Next we were served Garlic Fingers, which didn t actually taste like there was much garlic, and more like sweet cheese. When the pizza finally came out and we were hoping something would finally be good, the pizza sauce tasted like there was nutmeg in it, and a lot of it, which was pretty off putting. We didn t intend on taking the rest of the pizza with us, but the waitress packed it up without asking, and it ended up in the dumpster outside when we left. They also don t take debit cards, which isn t very clear when you walk in the door. Needless to say, if I ever end up in Saint John again, I will not be returning to Romano s.

Great dough, Cheese is cheese...sauce I found it to be heavy on the nutmeg (just one mans opinion). Loved the garlic bread.!

Really awesome restaurant, excellent location the staff are very friendly easy to get along with the facilities extremely clean very well organized. The tables are always clean. The bathrooms are clean. They do a really good job at not mixing up your order. Never a long wait here to get your food really enjoy coming here to great place to come and dine with your friends or family or get takeout. Thank you so much for everything guys. I highly recommend anybody looking for a great restaurant to come and check out this location. You wont be disappointed. Hope to see you again soon. Cheers

Ordered a large double-pepperoni. The crust had decent flavour and a good chew, but was far too thick. The sauce was overly sweet. The pepperoni was a bit over the edge of spiciness. There was so much cheese it was like a mass of plastic on top of the pie.

Just finished take out chicken slouvaki pita with Greek salad. Everything was super fresh! The greens were crispy, generous feta slice and the slouvaki pita was awesome! From out of town....this place reminds me of my favourite authentic greek/Italian restaurant home in moncton.

Went here with my wifey Wed night for supper, we had the chicken parm and chicken creole. The waitress was AWESOME and so was the food. Portions were HUGE and DELICIOUS.
