Never going back to this place again. I ve been here twice. The music was loud both times. The bar tender / server seemed like he was more interested in picking up girls than serving food and drinks. We ordered the steaks. The meat cuts are definitely smaller than what they advertise on the menu. The steak was blend. It had no spices on it, seemed like they just through a piece of meat on the grill. Cesar salad was missing a dressing. For fish tacos they forgot to put tar tar sauce. The quality of meat was also average. I can head over to Sobeys and get bigger piece of steak and bbq it myself better. The place is way over priced for what it is. The worst part is that the bartender said he took off the salad off the receipt but ended up charging for 1/2 the salad. Pretty scummy!

great option in Saint John, we had a fantastic meal here last night. I ordered the fried chicken and the spices on it were delicious.

Very disappointing ,we had ribeye steak which was burnt and taste like propane . The baked potatoe was so overdone you could not eat it.They brought out another and it was just as bad. We will never go back. Food

Pleasant atmosphere. Small portions. Hands-off service. Tasty burger. Good selection of draft beers. May come back to look around the neighbourhood which seemed like it may be interesting.

Large selection of dishes and good beer. We ordered 2 x beef ribs, mine had a high fat content. Unfortunately the bottom part of the second dish was cold. The staff was very attentive and friendly.

Lots to choose from. Place is nice. Service is great and friendly. Tons of really great beers to choose from. Big menu. 1 Star gone because of portion sizes for the money. Meager portions. 2nd star gone because of the quality of my meal. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. No way was it hot or tasted like Nashville sauce. It physically tasted like watered down Franks Red Hot. Chicken was small. Friends meals were better in flavour but not in portion size.

Food was sad. Got absolutely no coleslaw with my fish and chips and couldn t get catchup for the chips. Skip the food and just go for a drink

We had a horrible experience dining here on Canada Day after fireworks. There were only 2 staff and the guy was barely doing anything.. the girl had to manage the whole place. She asked us what we would like to drink as soon as we sat down. Since this was our first time there, we (party of 4) requested to give us a minute to go through the menu.. she left saying she ll be back. We tried to get her attention for a LONG time and she took the order of all 4 tables around us but wouldn t even make eye contact with us. I don t want to bring up the skin colour issue but it sure did feel that way after a while.. nevertheless we finally caught the attention of the guy and started giving him our drink order and all of a sudden she pops in and takes over as if we weren t trying to get her attention for the past ~ 15-20 mins.. finally when the drinks and food arrived, the pasta we ordered was very clearly spoilt.. it had a smell and had no Salt .. I haven t tasted spoilt food but I m pretty sure food that s not spoiled is not supposed to taste that way.. we did inform her of the same and she said she ll inform the kitchen.. that was it.. we had to pay full price for something that was not edible.. since we had already wasted a perfectly good night at this place we really weren t in a mood for an argument so we proceeded to ask for the bill. To our surprise the bill had an extra item we didn t even order. Thankfully we caught it and asked for a revised bill, paid and got out of the place. TLDR - horrible service(probably due to being severely understaffed) and inedible food (at least the pasta that we ordered. The other items were okish). Will never go back nor recommend to anyone we know. Visit at your own risk

The steak was a huge surprise. Im usually never impressed with steaks from restaurants but the flavor and texture of the steaks on the asiago pasta and the steak n frites was phenomenal. Price is slightly high but easily justifiable for what you get. The atmosphere is a pleasant pub vibe but it isnt what Id usually expect from a restaurant that serves such high quality steak and other food.

Our server Kelsey was so amazing, genuinely fastest service we have ever had! And she was the only one working! Also, best margaritas we ve ever had. Simple and strong! Food also came out so quickly and was delicious!

Excellent little pub in Uptown Saint John. The food was very good, the service too, bartender Rui was excellent and the selection of on tap brews is up to my liking.

We ordered muscles, brisket sandwich with spinach salade side, and 8 ounce steak with garlic mash. Awesome flavors, great value, excellent service.

I ordered medium and got salty well done. The meat itself was tasty. Wouldnt go more for steak.

Dinner was so delicious. Well-balanced flavors, a great variety of items, and fantastic beer selection. We couldnt decide whether to indulge in a main or feast on apps and desserts! Will be back!

Super accommodating staff. The food was excellent. Family friendly (although getting out stroller through the door was a challenge). Patient with our kids and long dinner. Food was excellent, some of the best pub food we ate in Saint John.

Great food, great service

Had a phenomenal steak here. Then came back three more times and had three bad steaks. It s hit and miss. They have Guinness so that s always a solid win. Parking: Located in a kind of alley. Park on a nearby street to get here.

It doesnt matter what you order here you will enjoy your meal. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. On a recent visit my wife said This place knows how to do food and I cant think of a better way to describe the way the food feels. Like it is made masterfully by the best chefs in the land.

Right off the bat. The food was fantastic! The steak was cooked in a rub, which gave it a crispy outside and soft texture on the inside. Carrots could have used a minute longer to steam but the broccoli and zucchini was perfect. The Ceasar was nice and spicy. Service is where it lacks a bit. especially when they drop some of my food onto the floor! Pity.

Had the Rib-eye with the char crust and the mashed potatoes as my side. It really was an amazing meal. If I m back in town again, I will be back to Churchill s for this steak for sure!

Hands down the best steak in the city. The char crust is unreal! Perfect inviting atmosphere Really good selection of draft beer. Prices are absolutely fare.

While the food was great (and expensive) Everything came out cold... We were however able to have them remake everything without much hassle after raising the issue. Only been here once, not sure if this is normal for them.

The food and service are always amazing. Their home fries are crunchy and full of flavor. Each item I have eaten has been wonderful, so far. Typically the meal of choice is burgers, but had the fish & chips twice and both times were delicious (thin/just the right amount of batter). Staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Todays server was Elisha (this is probably the incorrect spelling for her name - hopefully this isnt completely wrong and the business isnt going who?). She was quick, friendly and overall great at her job. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful meal each time.

My mum and I, along with a good friend, dined here on Monday night, and we all had a wonderful time. My steak was absolutely fantastic, and the carrot caramel cheesecake was delicious! Will definitely be back when we are in Saint John again!

Its a really nice revamped menu. The haddock tacos were excellent with a crispy batter and moist fish in a soft shell, The winter chopped salad was a perfect pairing to the meal. It is a really nice, smart, and refreshed space too and all done by lical artisans. Friendly and efficient service capped off the visit. .

I m a Mexican who loves this place and I go there every time I come to St. John. Love the service, the crew, and the food is unbelievable. Just the best steakhouse in town.

Food and service is always amazing

We went with our friends and ordered the charcuterie to share. We had high hopes but it was a disappointment. There were odd ingredients on the board almost like they ran out of items. There was granola, trail mix and very little bread. There were no sauces, pickles etc. It also took quite awhile to get. The cheese curds were good though. All in all, we would go back but would order something different.

The worst meal I have had in the week we have been in the maritimes. My husbands steak was ok. I had a salad that I would say EXPIRED at least three days ago. I picked most of my arugula out as it was varying shades of yellow. The scallops appy was far less than stellar. It looked like they dropped five scallops on a dollop of slightly puréed peas. Slightly mashed, and unseasoned and the garnish was severely lacking. I was disappointed as our check in gal at our hotel highly recommended them. Our wait staff was pleasant, and she did not charge for the salad after she saw the pile of yellow arugula on my plate. I will not return to Churchills.

Its our go to when we cannot decide. The steak is best in NB.

We popped in here twice while in Saint John for a late night snack and the food was definitely the highlight. The mac n cheese hit the spot and the trio platter was a great deal for the price. The service was as friendly and prompt as you could hope for!

The food was divine. That spinach dip -to die for- the nachos were amazing, everything was. It is a hidden gem, a hole in the wall thatll leave you surprised!

My girlfriend and I went twice, during our three day stay in the city. Nice bar and good local beers. The food was better than I expected it to be.

Travelling from southwestern Ontario. With stops including Quebec this was by far the best dining experience we have had so far! Great service. Amazing food. Highly recommend.

Have not eaten here since Covid. Went last evening. Will not be going back anytime soon. My meal consisted of a very large and unappetizing baked potato and gristly steak. That was it. I had to ask for butter and the meal was lukewarm. For twice the price my husband had a steak no larger than the palm of my hand, half a baked potato and some vegetables. Big price for such a small meal! Way overrated!

Extraordinary food in a variable atmosphere. The service depends on the person serving you, but I found them either too chill (slowness and lack of follow-up), or too concerned about the extra on your plate ($$$). But the food is just too excellent not to give it a 5 star rating. 3 days in a row I had the special for 38 piastres: steak+scallops+shrimp with baked pâté au gratin and vegetables cooked to perfection!

So lets be real: Im not a foodie. Im mostly an eat-to-live person, and while I appreciate a great meal, Im not one to seek out the absolute best in anything I eat. That said, one of my favourite comfort foods is fried chicken, and Ive eaten a ton of it, from restaurants all over the world...some even claiming to have the best *in* the world! I can say, without question, Churchills Sweet and Spicy Fried Chicken is, by FAR, the best fried chicken Ive ever had in my entire life. Honestly, I was blown away by how perfectly it was cooked, how it didnt need any sauce...it had me saying things like flavour profile and talking about textures...this chicken has CHANGED something within me. Thank you to the chefs, and also to our server Alicia, who was absolutely awesome!! We also loved the atmosphere, the perfect volume of the 90s/00s alt-rock, and the comfy booth! We will be making a point to come back to Saint John just for a meal at Churchills!!

Headed there for the first time with some buddys after a seadogs game, service was great food was good. Id definitely recommend!

The place is horrible so are the servers, theres this guy with a Mickey tattoo hes drinking while serving in his side stand, they are rude servers, the place has no vibe , and only two servers are there for like pax. They can barely touch every table and when you call them to take orders they give you an attitude and never come back to you. Full of garbage on the floor.

By far the best place we ate at during our 9 day cruise. We like to try mussels when we travel to see how fresh they are and I have to say, In my opinion, the mussels here were some of the best weve ever had. The atmosphere is great. Service was superb.

The sign hooked me in. Very relaxing atmosphere with a touch of pub charm. Many choices on tap and the menu offers lots of items. I just wanted a couple small things. The cheesy bread wasnt quite what I was expecting because it was actually some rolls, but still great. The corn/potato chowder was amazing. Great spot!

We decided to go last minute for some drinks and food, the beer was a little warm for our taste but and the food was ok.

Poutine was overly salty. Mac cheese wasnt very chessy with too much flour. But the maui wowi was really a delicious drink, and our server was super attentive and friendly. Food

Always LOVE Churchill s. We go here at least a few times a month and any time we ve EVER had a slight issue with anything (I can be picky), our servers are always on the ball and compensate when the bill comes. Love their food, drinks, service and location. Dietary restrictions: Has gluten free options!

Quite possibly the best food in the maritimes. Best muscles ive ever had and we re from pei absolutely delicious and surprisingly reasonable prices. They use real Real cheese, tender beef, everything perfectly seasoned it was heavenly. As long as they keep the prices reasonable we ll be back!!

The management abuses wait staff and the owner turns a blind eye. Ive seen grease leaking through the floor onto clean glasses in the bar, and Ive seen the dishwasher leaking through the floor (your dishes werent cleaned properly). Proper worksafe injury protocols were not followed in the past.

Great food, and service good, too. Was too noisy for conversation the night we were there as a very large group was having a celebration.

as someone who is ...very familiar... with this kitchen/restaurant ill say that yes there were unwanted guests roaming the kitchen at night, dirty tongs were constantly used, steaks were held under a heat lamp for extended periods of time for no reason, steaks were kept in canboros with blood in fridges that if i recall correctly were not getting up to temperature. it was quite a nasty place to be honest. montanas has better food just gonna throw it out there. and the blackened dredge they use as an option for their steaks would sit in a container for multiple days if not weeks which should be thrown out after every shift because its been contaminated and i think realistically is only safe for up to 4 hours. but what do i know

I ordered a burger from door dash they sent me this . Completely raw when I asked the dash driver for the drink that I ordered and he said he never got a drink. Please avoid this place at all costs

great bar staff competitively priced late night draught and wings/nachos is my favorite. I havnt gone as much in my 30s as i did my 20s but still a saint john nighttime staple

The staff members were friendly and pleasant. They spoke French, enough so that we could ask a few questions about the menu. It was really great! Bathroom in the basement, less accessible.

Really good food, pleasant staff, general service could use some polishing in the steakhouse to align with the experience expected with a $200 meal for two. Ie. If Ive ordered a starter with the meal please ensure there is time allotted between enjoying the starter and the actual meal being served. This makes the patron feel rushed when served too close together. Despite this I will be sure to go back one day.

Food was amazing, our app were frozen but the burger was to die for so they are focused on the most important part and our service was phenomenal! Would definitely come back if we are in NB again.

Normally very pleased but last time had very bad experience where my chicken came out looking like croutons on the top of my potato nachos, seafood chowder tasted like it came from a can, chicken burgers look like they were Janes chicken strips. Don t get me wrong I like Janes chicken strips but not when I m paying $30 for a burger Service was phenomenal per usual but the food has really went downhill. I hope they do something quick because it s actually one of my favourite places to eat.

Absolutely delicious meal! Started with the mussels so good!! Then I had the Nashville Chicken sandwich with a Caesar salad portion size was perfect. The sandwich wasn t massive but large enough. I could actually fit it in my mouth! And great salad! My mom had the Caesar salad with steak. She loved it!! Busy spot. We had to wait for a table then quite some time for our app. I d highly recommend this place tho!

Stopped in on a Monday night and it was well worth it! Great little rustic pub atmosphere with an attractive menu. Portions were just right and our steaks were cooked as ordered. Friendly service to boot. Strongly recommend the Parmesan and rosemary home cut fries too.

Food was great ! A little pricey but honestly didnt even matter once you saw the portion and tasted the food ! Service was very nice and explained drinks to us. Cant wait for the next visit ! Definitely recommend !

This place has the best service/steak. Arrived to a warm greeting. Cocktails and cheese board for appys. Delicious. The meals were excellent and well presented. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

Nice little spot thats been successful for years. Located on Grannan Alley, it has a nice selection of beers on tap and bottled. The bar area on the ground floor is a popular spot to socialize, have a beer and a bite or you can dine upstairs. Simple menu but the grub is good.
