The service was a bit slow, staff was friendly, our cups were empty for much of our time there. I had to get extra utensils myself, but I didn't really mind. The food was good, certainly home made, and not out of a bag and heated by a 17year old ( looking at you food chains like Swiss Chalet, Montanas, etc). I'd much rather return here than those other spots. Great family business feel overall.

If you’re looking for an old fashioned, home cooked breakfast, K’s is the place! Unbelievable! We drove by for years - not noticing this restaurant. The Maritimer’s Breakfast gave us 2 eggs, thick cut homemade bread (white, whole wheat, or raisin), home fries with onions, baked molasses beans, fish cakes, jams/marmalade, endless coffee… no need for lunch today!!!😆😆😆 All for under $40 (for the both of us). We’ll be back!
We stopped in today for breakfast and had such a wonderful breakfast! The atmosphere is exactly what you want for a breakfast diner!! Our waitress, Krista, was so attentive and lovely and the food was absolutely amazing! A simple breakfast isn’t as easy as we all think, but every part of our meal was outstanding! The bread was made fresh I’m guessing at the restaurant and was tremendous! It set my day off on a positive note because every part of the experience was amazing! Well done Krista and team and my hats off to the beautiful women in the kitchen!! Great job!!
This place has absolutely amazing staff and atmosphere. Although I didn’t completely enjoy the pancakes, cause they were not buttermilk pancakes. They are the best version of this style of pancakes that I’ve ever had. They’re an actual cake style. The owner was on staff when my husband and I went there this past Sunday and she’s a true delight, absolutely fantastic. It was our first time going there and I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to have a good old-fashioned breakfast with great stuff and a great atmosphere. I would recommend a buttermilk-style pancake with an extra egg to the recipe as it will allow the moisture and the collective connectivity of the ingredients to deliver a truly awesome and wonderful pancake. I make this style at home and my family and I super enjoy them We also had hashbrowns and eggs with our meal, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The onion flavour of the hashbrowns was absolutely superb. The wonderful little home-style teapot was delivered (coloured purple) as my husband had tea and he enjoyed it. I like my eggs over hard and they were cooked to perfection. They weren’t overcooked at all meaning the over-hard part of the yoke wasn’t just simply a hard clump in the middle of the egg, but they actually broke the yoke and made sure to cook it on both sides so that you have a perfectly cooked egg. To date, my husband and I have been in St. John for just over a month and this is by far the best breakfast restaurant that we’ve gone to so far. Planning on making a trip again next weekend and look forward to the food and the atmosphere. It’s worth mentioning that the price of this place is fantastic. My husband and I walked away totally satisfied and paid less than $25. Amazing!!

Well definitely on the best cafe's I have been to in saint John . Very friendly staff, orders were taken very promptly, food was served hot and it was delicious. Even though they seemed to be very busy with seniors coming in, the service was never short of amazing. My friend loved it , I liked it ( but I was hoping it will be on par with the other diner in west part of the city but it was not , nevertheless food is good here too) Price is very very reasonable . Hoping to go soon when in the Rothesay AVE.

Well let me tell ya, my first visit didnt go over well. They were busy, but it took me flagging down a waitress to get served. PLEASE dont let that scare you. I have been going every weekend since. The coffee, breakfast and service is at the top!!! I cant wait to see you again this weekend!

Ks is a great spot if youre looking for real homemade breakfast. Homemade bread, jam, fish cakes (these are delish), and many more homemade items. Portions are generous, and the service is excellent. Just keep in mind before you go that they only accept cash or e-transfer.

We were looking for an all-day breakfast place and hit the jackpot with this place! Not familiar with too many restaurants in Saint John and had no idea it was here - but glad we found it. Beautiful, delicious food including homemade bread! Everything was amazing. Staff was very friendly. Clean bathroom. Highly recommend and we will be back!

Dietary restrictions: The staff fixed a made-to-order breakfast of grilled fish, beans and fries, gluten and dairy-free. The fish was melt in your mouth haddock, fries were seasoned perfectly and also melt in your mouth, and the beans to die for . I heard a breakfast customer ask about lunch food. The response was, You want lunch, you got it basically from the time we unlock the door! All this delivered with a delight in serving the customer, and our needs their first priority. Then the production of fantastic food !!! Plus, I even met Kevin Bacon !!! Ask the waitresses. They all know Kevin

Absolutely love this place for a delicious, home cooked breakfast, and very reasonably priced. Their bread is house-made and is the best part of the breakfast! Yum! The coffee is also great and fresh! It can be very busy but they have a quick turn around time. Worth the wait if there is a line up. The staff are very friendly and fast :) 10/10 recommend.

New renovated building is beautiful and bright. Food is still just as wonderful. Service is always great. I cant say enough good things about my experiences here. They bake bread fresh every day and in the summer, they have fresh made jam. So so good.

This was my first return to Ks in 3yrs and such a beautiful change: newly renovated, warm and inviting. The staff were beyond accommodating and friendly. Comfortable seating for 4 adults and 2 kids at a large round table, it felt very home-like. And of course their homemade bread never disappoints. We will not wait so long to return next time. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast this morning, I had the Traveller. Great friendly service with decent coffee, I particularly liked the home made bread. The pancakes were pretty good too. Definitely a place I would go back too, reasonably priced with the Coffee included in your breakfast, or Tea.. cash or E-Transfer only though.
Great food. As others have said, the homemade bread makes this place unique among breakfast spots. Only issue is the actual building. Its not the prettiest or most modern, but the food makes up for it. Updated 2022: Recently renovated inside and this hidden gem is no longer so hidden as lately its been very busy there. Still amazing food!

We went in and had thier maritimer breakfast. It was like a hug from my dad. The fish cakes are just like my dad used to make. The restaurant is clean .the staff friendly. It is the one spot we must go to for breakfast.

One of the waitresses was beyond rude barking direction. No receipt offered, cash only. Food was mediocre, restaurant looked like something from a David Lynch movie, a bizarre reflection of idyllic small town life. Brought to life with overwhelming clatter from the echoing dining hall. Hasbrowns half cooked, service abrupt.

Uhhh what is this place? A secret world where breakfast blooms like roses. Local joint. A pleasant portal into St John of past times thats still alive. Very friendly service. Very friendly patrons. Very good homemade breakfast. Ángels are singing from above when the plates arrive. The place looks like a dump but lawdy once inside you cant help but love it.

There is no obvious signage, which is why it took 2 passes up and down the street and pulling over to re-consult Google maps. It looks dodgy as hell going in, but power through and turn right and head into the diner. Excellent friendly, attentive waitress and the chef/cook helped my friend improve her keto-friendly meal unprompted. The food was delicious. We have been to restaurants in bigger cities that have never offered or dug in their heels about such things so this was a wonderful bonus. Show up hungry and bring cash. Portions are large and the ATM in the bar lounge is pokey and charges a fee. Glad to have found this place and will definitely be going back.

Easily the best breakfast place in Saint John the food is great the servers and always super friendly. I highly recommend the the maritimer which comes with fish cakes, home made baked beans, eggs, home fries and home made toast.
Good homemade food
When on vacation my husband and Id like to eat at non-chain restaurants. We asked the locals where they eat. The food, service, portions and everything about this place was great. You have to get past the fact that its attached to a following down motel. But they keep the place very nice. And Trish, who has been there for 19 years, was very kind and warm-hearted and chatty.
Always and l do mean ALWAYS, excellent service and the home cooking second to none as it is painstakingly prepared with love.

Good little local joint. Dont let the exterior and hotel facade fool you. Had the corned beef hash with two eggs, excellent. The bread is made in house really good as well. Bring cash as they do not accept any checks, credit cards or debit cards.

Desperately searching for a decent breakfast while vacationing in Saint John, I trusted a few random and out of date reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor for Ks. So lucky! You would not think to stop at this tiny spot way off the main drag tucked into the corner of a worn out motel, but this is a serious breakfast with all the special touches. Lovely, warm waitress who was actually interested in us and our meal. The home made bread and home made strawberry jam were way above the norm. Perfectly scrambled eggs, excellent quality bacon. Just a really good and affordable breakfast. Hopefully youll respect the plastic tablecloths and simple surroundings and understand the owner is thinking more about the quality of the food than the decor. Wish I could eat here every day.

not fancy, but the food is delicious. makes you feel at home because the food is very well home cooked style. service is very fast and prices are reasonable. i would highly recommend especially if your looking for a nice lunch or breakfast. the only thing i wish the hours were a bit longer. A+ ! one of my favs in saint john.
