Great food at a reasonable price. Always fast and friendly service.
Good prices on food and drinks. Eat and drink for half the price of other nearby establishments. If youre looking for elevated food and microbrews go pay double somewhere else. We had 3 double caesars, a beer , fish and chips and philly sub with fries and a side of gravy. $50. Would go again during the week i hear theres a great specials each day.
Let’s start off with the customer service. This is what attracts to the bar. We are A couple from New Mexico visiting this bar thousands of miles away. Our bartender Holly had the best customer service. She was at one point A fellow Harley Rider. She knows the meaning of customer service. Loved her! The food and beer were very good. Lobster rolls and fries served with gravy. Amazing. We never looked at the ketchup bottle. She let us sample A few beers until we found the perfect one. If we’re ever back this way we’re coming back!
Everything was great. Prices were super reasonable and our waitress was awesome. We got the lobster rolls and i got the lobster grilled cheese. We also got a side of gravy for the fries. The whole meal was delicious. And the drinks were perfect. I cant remember what the drink was called but it had southern comfort in it on the double menu and its the best mixed drink ive had in a long time. Thank you!

First time in SJ and at this fine establishment, service was awesome, food was great came out nice and hot and no long wait times, beer was ice cold and lots of options on tap. We went on wing night(Sunday) wings were good size and cooked perfectly To top it off you can’t beat the prices we had the 2 lobster rolls with fries, 60 wings(photo only shows first 40), a pint and a ice tea with a double shot of peach schnapps and with tip our bill was only $105. Will definitely return here our next time in SJ!

Having eaten in several restaurants in New Brunswick, this is the place where the prices were most affordable. It was an excellent meal of Lobster rolls, much better than elsewhere and really less expensive. Great experience for my partner and me. We will definitely come back.
Clubhouse sandwich here is awful, not even real chicken, compared to the north establishment, and service was slow,inconsistent and had to chase for refills
Great food, for a great price! Not anywhere you can go and get 2 haddock and French fries for $7.50. I feel like Im stealing from them. Jk Great value!
The restaurant was full of fruit Flys. I could not eat my food once I noticed that there was fruit Flys on the fries.

Weekday lunch service was friendly but a little hit or miss. Food was large and properly executed. We had the fish n chips special. No special twists on it but I appreciate it, a classic done right. Beer was good, bar was a bit sticky as they often are. Good experience, will go again. Great value.

Very rude staff working today May 25th, we sat at the door waiting for a table, had the girl behind the bar say you can seat yourself. Then when she walked by she threw the menus on the table and kept walking very poor customer service.
I had one of the worst experiences at your Uptown Pub Down Under - at about 2:30 pm today, I went into your pub to have a meal. Upon entering it was busy, but I went around the corner and there was a table for 2 and a table for 4 (both were not cleaned, and nobody sitting at them), so I asked the waitress that was that was serving 2 customers at the window if anyone was sitting there, she said no and that she would be there to clear the table in a few minutes. I sat there an waited, the waitress came by me 2 times while I was sitting there (going back to check on other customers at window) and didnt even acknowledge me. After sitting there for just over 15 minutes, 3 people came in and they sat at the table of 4 beside me, the same waitress came over and took the dishes off the table, and gave them menus, she then looked at me and said are you still waiting....I replied yes. I felt like me being there as a single person my business was not wanted and the group of 3 was more important. I asked to get a card/name for manager, a few minutes later a lady came over to talk with me and I asked if she was manager, she said that Uptown Pub Down Under doesnt have a manager and that I would have to go on the facebook page so the owners would see it. She also went on to say that the girl was new and it was busy. I acknowledged that it was busy, but she the same waitress walks by twice, then takes a table of 3 and clears their table and give them menus before me is not fair and makes it seem like business is not important. I have never experienced such a feeling in all my years of going to any restaurant in my life. The lady did ask if I wanted to be served at that point, I told her no and asked how she would feel if that happened to her to which she didnt reply, and at that point I just left.
Super rude staff!! Terrible experience with the chubby brunette server. I dont know what is going on here?? everybody acts like they think they can be as rude as they want without any consequences. This place needs better management!

I went to the restaurant today may 6 at around 11:00am(as I normally do).I waited quite some time for the server( a blonde lady) to even give me a Menu, but she wouldnt, so I went with her and asked her if she could at least give me a menu, but her response was to tell me there were people before me, and I have to wait(with a very disgusted and unfriendly face and attitude), then I told the other server the situation, and my discomfort with the present situation and her response was to basically call me a liar and say You do whatever you wanna do man in a sarcastic and unfriendly way, and almost pushed me to take my food out. Very uncomfortable and aggravating situation to say the least...
We ve come here many times now for food and drinks and always receive the best service! Staff are super kind and friendly and the food is alway amazing!! An absolute recommendation if you re in the uptown area! Desert is a must have!!!

I had ordered the 10oz steak that was on special. After you got through the fat, silverskin, and gristle it turned to about a 4oz steak. Wasnt impressed at all. The fish and chips looked good. Location was good, and they had a few tvs on to watch the games.. the restaurant is nice overall. I just wasnt too impressed with the quality of their steaks. Parking: Paid Street parking only, no parking lot. Paid parking lot available nearby.

Good prices, AMAZING food. Most of the staff can be iffy and most of the restaurant is always off limits leaving the rest of the space very crowded. Ive gone with and without the kids had wonderful experiences either way.

They had a great deal for 2 burgers for $7 when I was passing through. It was great value and the burgers were excellent. Would definitely go back next time Im in Saint John.
Food was good. We wanted a second drink but our waiter forgot so we finished our food and didnt bother with another, otherwise it was great, just got busy I suppose.
We had wings, fries and beer. Server was very friendly and courteous. I would have given the food a 5 but even though the wings were hot the sauce on them was ice cold like it had just come out of the fridge so it took away from the meal.
Came into here today by chance- and my word, it definitely lives up to the other greats reviews. Staff was excellent and accommodating. We had gotten the nachos and chicken club wrap, everything was amazing quality and big portions. Will definitely come back

I like that it s in uptown, very convenient, food is okay I don t like that when I went with my family it was paper plates, and the staff are extremely rude, they tell us we can go anywhere but when we find a seat they said you can t seat there, made us feel very uncomfortable, not to mention when we ordered takeout we got wings but we got less then what we paid for. It s a cheap restaurant, very convenient if you re on the run and everywhere else is full.. but it s not great and at your risk, and be prepared to be treated bad.

Atmosphere is great, fun karaoke and good dive bar sort of vibes. Only thing is the food is really really poor. Would get a 0 stars if possible it was On the questionable side of safe to eat. We ordered a cheeseburger poutine, chewy beef, had maybe 8 cheese curds on it with gluey gravy and store bought frozen french fries. Definitely Dont come for the food, but for a cold beer its a good time.

Great little spot we discovered. Definitely not a high end place, its a pub with great prices and great pub food. Fish and chips were super tasty and not super thick breading. Prices cant be beat!! Will definitely return!!

Ambience was good. Mozza stick was fantastic. Fries were good too. But burger patty was stale and unacceptable for all 4 of us. And this is the second time in 2 tries I have experienced sub par burger there. Probably will never order Burger again.

A great downtown old fashioned tavern. It appeared to be a favourite place for locals or regulars. Chatty and friendly. We were there for breakfast. It was a great old fashioned breakfast. A good way to start the day. The service was friendly, jovial and attentive.

Long waits for drink, food and even the bill! It s insane. The food is good sometimes. We just stick to wings and nachos now. The nachos lately have been burnt every time now though.

Wont be back, no acknowledgement from any staff at the door, at the table or anything with the 5 mins we were there waiting for even a I ll be right with you . Just a female worker twerking behind the bar at a male coworker & goofing around. After waiting long enough, we left and went up the road where we were greeted at the door immediately and seated.
Friendly staff,clean washrooms, I had the steak and eggs, the steak and eggs were cooked perfect!! My partner had the crispy chicken wrap..She said it was delicious!! We will definitely be back!
If I could give this establishment 0 stars I would. My first experience at the uptown location tonight was not one bit good. Ordered take-out, takes 30 mins to make two sandwiches and two poutines. Get home after waiting a half hour , so its been about 45 mins at this point, open up the bag , and no poutines. Tried to call the restaurant 4 times before going back , absolutely NO ANSWER. So I go back with my food which is cold now. I ask for a refund as my appetite is lost. I tell the women I want my money back, 15 mins later the manager comes back and tries to give me two cold poutines (they were made originally, just not given to me, so an hour after I ordered) and tries to gives me half my money back. Absolutely not. I argued with him to get a full refund as I was not eating this cold & soggy food. He finally gave me a full refund. It took me a half hour just to get the money back from the second I stepped foot into the restaurant. Your manager needs to lay off the pot.

I got their BLT wrap, fries with gravy, and a Caesar. All delicious. But I followed what my sister did and squeezed my lime garnish into the caesar... which elevated the spicyness, and I am not a fan of spicy so that was my fault haha. Service was great! Music played was immaculate!
Wonderful location. The waiters are extremely friendly and helpful. The food is also very good and youd be pressed to find another location that serves you food of this quality at a lower price, 10/10 recommend!

Prices cant be beat. Really good breakfast. I prefer the potatoes here than the North location. Only downside is the coffee is the worst. Three creamer and 2 full sweetener just to make it drinkable. Food and servers are great though.

Service super slow. I wish I had of taken a picture of the salad over half was croutons. I guess thats why you dont go to a pub for salad. Onion rings great. Poutine had about 4 little pieces of cheese Good place for Grease and beer.

We were walking all over uptown popping in to different pubs all day. We came upon this place. Anyone reading this and planning or are here you have to stop in and see them. You will not be sorry. Great food and prices. There are 2 of them going to the other one tonight. Cheers

Thought wed try the $6.00 fish and chips and $15 pitcher of beer. Husband had the southern fried chicken. Shared the deep fried pickles. Food was good, server quick and friendly. If youre looking for fancy decor this isnt the place. Come for the great prices. $49. Including the tip

The beer was cheap and the staff were friendly. Food room a while but was pretty good. Atmosphere is somewhere between a pub and a sports bar, with a very small bar section but lots of tables. Very clean and follows new health guidelines.
Food and service was excellent
The wife and I come here at least 3 times a week. The wings are always .50c and always excellent. The food is almost always spot on and very reasonably priced. The main reason we keep coming back though is the staff. They are always friendly and do a great job. If I had any complaint it would be the occasional music playlist is bad. I have a hard time sitting and relaxing when Billy Ray Cyrus or Kenny Rogers is playing. Stay away from the country pop and get some speakers on the other side. 5 stars.
