Splash Thai Cuisine in Saint John

After just having been shut down due to a failed health safety inspection, I noticed a roughly 10 inch blonde hair (my own being about 2 inches) in my mango chicken curry. This after having order a take out meal for myself and partner to enjoy entrusting that the establishment would take better care in the control of the quality of what leaves the kitchen. I was wrong. When I tried addressing this with their management, I was told there is nothing that can be done due to the time lapsed since (I kept in in my fridge as I work rotational shift work and do not have time to go on a whim at any given point). To which the lady simply turned away from me leaving me standing at the door. I made sure to alert the kind couple I held the door for to enjoy the hair in their food, smiled and went on my way. I previously very much enjoyed the atmosphere and food at splash. NOT anymore, nor will I be recommending that others try to do so. Obviously concerns aren t taken seriously here.

Good size meal, had enough for next day.

Our experience was A++. It started with Lydia our server was very Pleasant, knowledgeable of the menu and made sure we were always tended to.

Massaman Curry and Pad Thai chicken. As always, the curry is delicious and good value for money. The pad thai would likely have been good if we had eaten it right away but because we had taken it home which was an hour and a half away it was a bit dry so I may, in the future, ask for additional sauce if ringing at home

Beautiful restaurant. Very clean and nicely designed. Food is always consistent and delicious. The Massaman curry is always as go to.

Food is no longer great! Its even below average. No taste, no flavor. Very disappointing.

First time, I went to this res, ordered Greek Fries and specially told the girl taking order that it must be Vegetarian - no meat - still after that.... after reaching home in other city- found bacon everywhere in the bowl.. worst experience ever....will never ever visit it again

Upon entering, there was no staff to be found. My co-worker decided to wander around to find someone. Upon finding staff, we were seated and given the menu, which consisted of limited dishes from the med (which has the same owner and is directly next door. When we asked if i could order anything else from the med we were strictly told absolutely not In the past this would not of been an issue but for some reason it was today. The food was amazing. Recently moved here from Ontario and have been finding it very difficult to find any good ethnic food but now i have one place to go to. Everything we ordered was delicious and I will be back again and again. This restaurant is a franchise but the Saint John location is much better than the other locations I have tried.

Wouldn t take a one item take out order minutes before 8 because they stop taking takeout orders at 8 but are open until 9. I ll never eat there again

I have been to Splash many times with great reviews every time. We booked our reservation on New Years Eve with my brother and his g/f. Our waitress was very rude, slow and behaved as if we were a bother. We watched others in the restaurant and she was the same to everyone. It was obvious she didn t want to be there. The food was amazing. I will go back, but if she is our waitress I will ask for a different section.

Quality food and good service.

I cant stop thinking about the yellow curry!!! It was delicious, but i thought it should have been spicier when i asked for it to be Thai Hot, which according to our serve is too hot for most. Wish they were open for lunch.

If the food was exceptional, itd make up for a lot of the sins on the service side. Unfortunately, the food now seems to come with mistakes in technique as well. Shame to see the decline here, it used to be reliable.

It was okay. Portions were huge but not overly tasty. Nice enough night out. Parking lot was very crowded but there had been a recent snowstorm so maybe that contributed. Kid-friendliness: No one would go here not expecting kids to possibly be present.

So from the get go, I have to apologize to Splash because I walked in with little to no expectations and was ready to be disappointed. Boy was I surprised. We started off with the shares appetizer for 2. I was really surprised. Very tasty with complex flavours that work together so well. Our main dishes were garlic chili Pad Thai for him and the Coconut Curry Noodles for me. I was blown away. The level of spice was spot on. Spicy and enjoyable. I loved the creaminess the coconut milk brought to the dish and the subtle lime taste was just out of this world. I will be going back. I highly recommand

I love Splash! Very friendly staff and great food. In my opinion they serve the best Chicken Pad Thai. Huge portions, lots of meat. I have tried dozens and always compare them to Splash. They have some fantastic dishes on their menu. The Massaman Curry is also amazing. I ve never been disappointed. Make sure you call in your order early if you want to pick up, as they get very busy.

The flavors in some of the dishes seemed a little underdeveloped or subdued. The food was served hot, and our wait time was good. Our server was pleasant and was doing a great job with the multiple tables he was responsible for. The atmosphere seemed a little dark.

Our family has been eating here since they opened many years ago. We have had just about everything on the menu. We have yet to have a subpar meal or poor service. Its our go to spot for obvious reasons. Highly recommend.

Going thru cancer and having to travel regularly to Saint John for treatments wasn t fun but as I hit milestones my go to place to celebrate was always Splash!! Food and service was No1 every visit and I recommend your restaurant to any and everyone heading to Saint John! Keep up the excellent work- I m planning on a visit again soon and not a cancer visit cause I ve got that beat!!

I recently dined at splash Thai restaurant and tried their tom yum soup, which leaned a bit on the sweeter side, not quite to my preference. The chicken basil dish showcased the familiar Thai flavors of salty fish sauce , thai chili pepper, sugar, and basil which a touch more Thai basil would have elevated it. All in all, my experience was middle-ground; it wasnt the finest Ive encountered during my travels, but it certainly wasnt the worst either. But the service made up for it. Music playing In the background must have been someones Playlist from ranging from techno to Indian which was head scratching while eating thai food.

My significant other and I love going to Splash for date night. The servers are always fabulous, the food is delicious and most importantly in my opinion consistent. We normally get 3 dishes so we can have some leftovers for lunch the next day. Atmosphere would have been a 5 star, but the table we were seated at was a little small for the food we ordered. I will likely ask for a booth or a 4 top table in the future.

This is unfortunately not very good Thai food. The curry and pad thai were subpar. Sadly, even Thai Express is better. We absolutely love Thai food, have been to Thailand, and tried many restaurants in many cities. Stay home and make it yourself. So many recipes online that are better. I promise you wont regret it.

Splash Restaurant Rothesay Av, Saint John NB This, by far, has been my families favorite restaurant for many years. During covid, they kept a bit of normalcy to our life by providing great food for takeout. My family and friends enjoy the cuisine, the atmosphere, and the staff. It is by far my favorite place to go for a meal, eat in or take out. If there is an issue with anything, they will handle it with an open mind and try to rectify it. I have only had 1 technical issue that was handled with grace and understanding. So Im saying thank you once again for providing great service and delicious food! T Vegetarian options: They have several delicious stir fry options as well as noodle dishes Dietary restrictions: They offer some gluten-free items on the menu Parking: There is a large parking lot that is on both sides of the building.

Every year for our anniversary.

The food was absolutely fantastic! The lemongrass and coconut soups are the perfect balance of hot, sweet and sour. The splash Thai noodles was one of the best noodle dishes Ive ever had. The service was phenomenal and the waiter was really attentive even though he was super busy. We ordered 2 soups a platter for 2 appetizer and 2 mains and is was under $100. I would highly reccomend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys authentic Thai food.

We love Thai food, have eaten it all over the world. This place rates up there with some of the best. The wait staff did a great job even suggesting a change to our meal that was Excellent. If we are back in town we will be back here again. Food

I had mixed feelings about my recent visit to Splash. The coconut curry noodles left much to be desired, as the beef was quite chewy, making it difficult to finish the plate. The Massaman curry was passable. However, the appetizers mixed platter was delightful and disappeared within seconds at our table. What truly stood out was the excellent service and the inviting atmosphere. While the main dishes could use some improvement, the overall experience was made memorable by the attentive staff and cozy ambiance.

Splash Thai Cuisine is like stepping into a classy establishment in Chiang Mai. The atmosphere is that of Asian elegance mixed with flair. Thai curry greats your nose as you open the door, a mix of coconut, curry, and peppers that sings a culinary crescendo and confirms, if you like Thai fare, youve come to the right place. Table availability has yet to be an issue. Any time Ive gone for an evening meal. It is typically busy but has room. There has been the odd occasion when there is a wait. It is best to call ahead for a reservation if in doubt. The food is prepared with the care you would expect from a specialized culinary establishment, dishes present as fresh offerings and the taste reflects the appearance: fresh, well seasoned with the spice influences one expects from Thai and burma/Myanmar food. Personally, my favorite appetizer is the Som Tam Salad, and being a spice connoisseur, i typically gravitate towards the high end of the Scoville scale for my main dish. At splash, that dish is the green curry. You know the type of food that you like so much you can just keep eating it after your stomach tells your brain that youve reached satiety. To the point of possible food induced paralysis. Splashs green curry is that dish for me. I usually get it paired with chicken. Pricing is on par with uptown pub and steak house prices and, in some cases, lower than what one would expect for the value. If you are new to the area, from the area and looking for a new food experience, or looking to try Thai food for the first time, then this is your safe bet. The only complaint I have and for me it is a serious one: the food is so good I typically forget to take my pictures before eating some of it.

Having never been to Splash Cuisine, I was very surprised to be asked to comment on it. What I can say that it is next door to Mediterranean Restaurant where the food, service and value is really excellent. It seems to me that two restaurants could not coexist with one being excellent and the other being a total mismatch so on that basis I can say that Splash. Cuisine is probably pretty ok.

WORTH THE RAVE! Have gotten food from here MANY times and will continue to do so as it is so good. Both dine in and take out is good... Even after my half hour drive home, the food is still good!! Tasty, spicy, mouth watering as Im typing this.... Highly recommend trying this place if you havent! Parking: Crammed tight parking, very busy. Kid-friendliness: Not really kid friendly inside, more of a date night atmosphere.... Dim lights, wine glass, relaxing music

We ordered crispy spring rolls, red curry with tofu, cashew chicken, and splash udon noodles and were very pleased! Staff were lovely and the food was tasty, with good portion sizes that allowed us to have leftovers for a second meal. Well definitely be back.

Ordered take out was very disappointed with the quality of the food.....I had to slop up the grease from the rice, it was terrible and the amount of the grease from the drunken noodles was no better.....very disappointing. The beef (which was to be ginger) had no taste to it and it seems like the dish was about 40% water and about 10% meat with vegetable mixed in for the rest. Not a great experience, very disappointed.

We choose to take-out on this day. The food was good, not great. I feel the food is much better overall when dining in. We also paid for an order of extra rice that we did not receive. Usually, I would have checked my order before leaving, but I didnt on this day. So, 4 stars for you!

Ordered coconut curry noodle with shrimp and it tasted amazing. Very flavourful and generous amount of shrimp! It was spicier than I expected but I still love it very much.

One of the best Thai restaurants EVER!!!! A chef from Thailand and she used Authentic spices. My mouth was so happy to taste such delightfulness. We ordered the Mango Thai Curry and coconut curry noodles. You must stop in and try this place, reservations a must as its so busy.

Best curry Ive ever had, the yellow curry chicken is PERFECTLY balanced, the sweet potato adds JUST enough sweetness to compliment the heat and vice versa! Definitely recommend the yellow curry, but if you like curry you cant go wrong with any of them!

There are those must eat locations in every city you visit, Splash is one of those locations. Reasonably priced, great customer service, and the FOOD! Soo delicious. Its become our go to location at least once a quarter for an evening date night!

Best Thai restaurant in our region and absolutely fantastic service

I really love this restaurant. The food and staff are amazing and the atmosphere is great. Its a little pricier but its totally worth it, especially if everyone shares dishes. Which is a fun unique way to enjoy a meal with friends and family.

I thought with all the good reviews it would be good but we left spending 50$ each wishing we had gone elsewhere. Outstanding guest service and went above and beyond in accommodating a 9 y/o w/a severe dairy allergy... verdict, he LOVED that he could share in everything on the table as the Chef made a couple of modifications to ensure that he could safely eat and try everything. Well done Splash!

This was our third time there, and our first since they re-opened during the Covid-19 pandemic began. The food, as always, is divine! The wait staff are beyond personable. The only downside (and it is due to the pandemic) was how eerily quiet it was. Regardless it was a great way to celebrate 21 years of marriage!!!

This restaurant has never disappointed. Always make a reservation as it is generally full each weekend. An average couple will spend between $ 60 - $ 80 for appetizers and main dishes. But again, I have never been disappointed. The waiters are always prompt and among the best. The atmosphere is very nice. I would return again.

It doesnt matter what dish you choose, they will all be great. Great service and good food, what more could you ask for? As a caution, some dishes can be very spicy.

Stopped in for supper with friends. Great atmosphere, staff were first class, and food servings were over the top when it comes to amount of food served. I was disapointed in the Quality of the food, Pad Thai with shrimp was dry, noodles were sticking together from lack of sauce. Was also served with a huge plate of white rice? Massaman Curry was amazing however served with rice and a fork however really enjoyed it. Cashew Chicken was also very good. I will give this another try, soon.
