It's edible I guess. The food isn't quite good. There was no distinct flavour in the gyudon and the miso soup tasted like warm water, that was under salted The place was really clean and nice. The waiter and service was the best. I just found it weird that my friend spoke in French while he replied in English.
Nice Ramen place! Came around 5:15pm Sunday, didn’t need to wait and the place was 2/3 full. Ordered the black garlic ramen and friend chicken ramen, both great! Was hoping that they will be served burning hot, but it wasn’t. Doesn’t take away the good taste though! Staff were very nice and friendly too. Great experience overall.
It could be a 10 stars ramen restaurant. After a few try at this place, its still surprising me so much, i went there with someone and she realy liked it too, look like it wasnt my only taste. I suggest this little quiet place for your eyes and also because its realy taste realy good. 10 stars for us. Ty we ll come back next week end again. Thank you KUMAMOTO RAMEN. From Sebast.
Good portion of food, nice ambiance. There are booths for dining alone, so it’s very convenient. The only criticism I may have is that the prices have gone up, 30$ for a bowl of ramen with a coke is a bit much in my opinion but it’s still a great place with great ramen. Will still be going back despite the slight price increase haha
Not what it used to be when it was on saint-Catherine!! Not enough chopsticks in a Ramen restaurant… Very very salty chashu limited stock on the menu I aksed the server: should we write the order on a paper as shown on the picture. Responded by ‘’ just tell me’’, then forgot two items… Save yourself peeps, not worth the price and not worth the trip.
A nice, quiet and cozy place! I went there with my husband and we were satisfied with our portions given ❣️ We usually going the one downtown but when we saw this one while we were walking in the area, we had to give it a try. It was a pretty chill place to go there, will come back again!
I came here looking to experience the booth seating where they serve you through a “wall”, and it was definitely something I would recommend doing at least once. The booth comes with a little filtered water tap that you can use at your liberty, which was very cool! The service was fantastic, our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The Ramen was lacking a little flavour in the broth and the pork, overall this wouldn’t be up high in my list of quality ramen places - but it’s definitely an experience I would recommend!
Overall I liked the food. We had edamame, fried squid, fried chicken and their Kumamoto ramen. Everything was good, but imo the ramen lacked an extra kick in the broth to truly hit the spot imo. The fried squid crust was quite tasty (reminiscent of Cantonese fried pork chops), the fried chicken crust was almost flavorless. Service was very friendly. The decor is quite special.
Guaranteed change of scenery, exquisite meal. I would give 5 stars if I go there several times and everything continues to be good.

Dont understand people giving bad review and saying it cost too much a damn Trio at Mcdies is almost the same price as their main course Food is always good and service to ! The only thing that happened was one time we ordered a beer ln tap, and it was flat Food

I travel 50 minutes to get ramen soup and it shows up on google, their website and the Maps app. I arrive in front of the restaurant and its closed. There was no closure message. Very disappointed since I often ate in Kumamoto when they were downtown
Long wait, longer than usual when customers that came after us got serve 2x faster for same meals. Been told they had no chopsticks when others customers around us got given some. Been going there since they first open back when they were on St-Catherine so it kind of sad that the service was more than ordinary.
Overall liked it. Might go again. The food was good, the broth is savoury, the egg was good, but the pork was not that great in my opinion, too salty and not tasty enough. Edit: the A/C has been working this year and no complain anymore! The atmosphere was ok, I sat in an isolated booth, a la Japanese, which was fun for me, first time in those booths. The only negative comment I have was this huge fan in the back that was loud. I guess their A/C broke down or something. Service was great, super friendly.
Great concept of a Japanese traditional restaurant, with tasty food and good staff.
This is worse taste of vegi ramen, I never have before. I couldn t eat the ramen at all. The soup is just like water, no salt, the ramen is hard to eat, the sprouts is not cooked. I tried to change the soup base, the staff said no, it was too late to change. The Unagi Don is good. Mostly disappointed at the service.
Cozy little ramen shop. If you can handle a little spice (its not super hot or anything) try the red stuff for a pinch of flavor!
Ive given this place 3 chances, because I love ramen, and really wanted to love this place; but, Ive been mostly disappointed. This just tastes very bland (the Kumamoto ramen). Its not bad bad, but it is lackluster. The ambiance though is cool, having the individual stalls is a fun Japanesque experience. Id have preferred if the waiter bell rang less loudly, kinda stressful to have it shout next to you; And coupled with a server that spoke at the speed of sound and seemed to count the seconds for me to leave, today was not an enjoyable experience.

One of the best broths I have tasted. They forgot the eggs 1 out of 2 times. But in general follow the delivery instructions. The Karaage is really meh honestly. Very fatty and little meat.

Best ramen in Montreal. Hands down! It is are go to destination on cold and rainy days. Comforting food in a cozy lovely spot. And we also love the Japanese style eating cabins.

- Update review Went back and tried the karage spicy soup and takoyaki... The soup was pretty good, we liked the soup, decent balance of flavor and spiciness, but was disappointed with the thin noodles, soggy, I think they used the same kind of noodles from Tsukuyomi Ramen now. The Karage barely had any batter around it. Takoyaki were a bit smaller than expected. So Im lowering this to 3 stars and most probably wont be back for it (mainly because of the noodles). - First review Cool ambiance, they tried to make it look like a Japanese style ramen shop, however it fell short as the kitchen isnt right behind those counters lol... Wouldve been cool otherwise. We liked the noodles, their spicy one packs some punches, it has the flavor, the broth is not heavy and the pork was tender and has the charred flavor to it. We tried the fatty pork and would recommend that. A few things they could change would be to get rid (or move those) decorative blinds right in the MIDDLE of the damn pathway, they are literally in your face when you try to walk around! Secondly, tune down that bell, it was so loud every time people hit the bell trying to ask for service or to order things... Overall, we enjoyed the ramen here, this is definitely better than Tsukuyomi Ramen in St-Laurent and I think I like ramen here a little bit more than Kinton. Parking: There are some free parking during weekdays after 5pm about 2 blocks away.
I used to love the downtown one and wanted to give this one a try! The ramen was good but the portion of the toppings seems less. The karage was really good but the porc dumplings were just okay. We also took their katsu cause the downtown one was so juicy and tender but it was so disappointing, we couldn t really chew the meat, definitely frozen! Disappointed overall.

The tonkatsu was excellent, the black tonkatsu noodles were great, and this meal was cheap for its quality, and the service was great.
This place has fast service, excellent food, and the katsudon was perfect.

Service was A1. The lady was sweet, quick and attentive. The kitchen dropped the ball though. My chicken. The egg was disintegrating and tasted extremely, but extremely salty. My broth had an inch of fat and when I started getting to the bottom, it tasted like the ocean= salty The chicken in it was obviously very salty too. I wonder if the chef tastes his food cause its disrespectful to the customers and to ramen culture in general. All the best from here but I wont be back. The appetizers were pretty good though
Pretty average food. Would consider it the fast-food of ramen, since most of their meals taste rather bland. The red tonkotsu broth is spicy but not flavorful. The appetizers were good, but didnt feel as fresh as what you would find elsewhere. Overall fun experience for quick dine-in!

I like the downtown location so I was really looking forward to this place. But the bowls are so cheap. My friend and I both got different rice bowls and mine had 4 thin pieces of eel. My friends bowl had a thin layer of beef and our bowls were mostly rice. Even the presentation and taste isnt as good. Overall same price but poorer in quality. Really great service if only the food was as good as the service.
The place is cool. With the singles arrangement. The ramen is not my style , but of a bitter taste but still good . Also still not too cheap for descarie street. Same prices make more sense on St Catherine but here ....

I usually go to Kinton ramen and Ive noticed their quality has gone way down since they opened. On the other hand, Kumamoto ramen seems to be much better!
You can eat at the counter, in a style that I presume is typically Japanese. Each seat has its own water spout. Its a different setting that usual, which the kids especially enjoyed. The food is delicious, and the waitress was very friendly. Really enjoyed the place.
Best ramen I have ever had. Friendly staff. Affordable. I never ever leave review, but this place felt really underrated.
Overall: I do recommend for beginner ramen s foodie testers. Food : 3/5, the prices aren t competitive, they are higher than other noodle places. Service : very polite and nice but they do take very long to serve you even when you are their only client. Atmosphere: there is this huge fan background sound in the restaurant. Place : the restaurant is very clean and there is plenty of seats. Also, their washroom are very neat too.
Overall, the experience was good. I ordered take out and it was ready within a reasonable time, but the price to proportion ratio seemed off. The Ramen at 25$ is high in comparison to other places and the seaweed salad at 5$ seemed reasonable but it was tiny! Barely two bites.. Maybe the price is for the ambiance? Ill go check it out and report back.
This place is really good other Kumamotos have dissapointed me in the past but i just cant get enough of this one. Recommend trying at least once and you dont have to only order ramen other items on the menu are also good.

Im thrilled to have discovered this restaurant its one of the best ramen spots in Montreal. Whether you prefer sitting with friends at a table or opting for a solo booth, its affordable and offers fantastic food.
First visit ever. I wanted to try a real ramen. I had spicy pork broth. It was very good. The service was great, I give a plus to the waitress who really made an effort to speak to me in French and she still speaks it well even though its obviously not her first language. Small boxes for peace of mind is a good idea but with my XL size I felt stuck. Ill definitely go back there when Im in the area but I would take a regular table.
Nice little ramen place in VSL. The broth was good and the appetizers too. They also offer the authentic Japanese ramen experience where you can dine solo in little cubicles. I would recommend coming here for lunch or supper for a quick no fuss hearty ramen.
Room temperature broth that didn t taste so strong, msg, pieces of thighs that tastes old, (should use breast) the noodle weren t bouncy,

Food wasnt good, french wasnt good, location looks very good and has an authentic look. My karaage was made of tough low quality chicken thigh and unimpressive breading and served with a dab on the plate of regular kewpie and spicy miso right out the commercial jar, the broth was way too fat and had little flavor, same for the chashu, just like their downtown location. When I spoke to the staff in French they switched to english. Menu and signs were google translated very poorly into French, zero efforts made. All I really care about is food, and the food is worth 2 stars anyways, but the total lack of efforts towards French is also kind of pathetic and worth pointing out. Its a shame that everything else is bad, because aesthetically the place looks really good. I will need to keep riding the metro downtown to Tsukuyomi to get good ramens.

Ramen was not bad, but definitely not what I was expecting. Staff seems to be nice and the place looks wonderful. Just a bit sad they dont offer any creamy broths. That aside, i would give it around a 6.5/10 experience. Make sure to ask questions if you arent sure about the menu.
