850 Decarie Blvd, Saint-Laurent, Quebec H4L 3L9, Canada
Relaxed atmosphere, chill reggae playing on a Sunday night. Warm place on a cold night. Simple unassuming restaurant. Food good
Menu slightly confused me but the waiter cleared everything up and served up a delicious meal and a pitcher of ginger juice
Best african food ever. if you want the best grilled (roasted) however they make it goat and lamb no better place to be than this one.
DO NOT GO THERE!!! This is the worst experience I had. It took over 45 mins to receive the appetizer which was all dough and almost no meat in the middle. It was not even hot. They only cared about the take out and uber deliveries. We were starving. Over an hour had passed and still no food. The waiter tried arguing with me saying some dishes take more time, yet again people that came after us got their food. We decided to pay for the appetizer and leave. While the guy behind the counter was arguing with me, this other lady came out of the kitchen asking what was going on, she told us to go back and sit, while we were waiting for our change back. 0 manner of customer service. WE NEVER GOING BACK THERE!! If I could put 0 star, I would.
I don’t know if these people think I was stupid or tried to play with me. But they literally gave me ALREADY EATEN goat. Disgusting for that. Literally an already bitten Goat was in my bag. But by the time I opened it I was already driving. This is no exaggeration either. Literally already bitten meat. Be careful eating here. Very sad they would do this. They’re lucky I didn’t see this when I was in their face. Especially after spending $75 CAD.
UberEats Order Everything was tasty, the food was delivered fast. I ordered the thieboudienne and the ginger drink(very tasty with real ginger as the main ingredient)!
Nice West African Restaurant. We had lunch here and the taste, quality and quantity is good. Fataya - Nice meat filled snack Poisson Braise- Grilled Fish with Fried bananas, casava is awesome. The fish is fresh and cooked well. Bananas are crispy and sweet. Thieboudienne - Tomato sauce marinated rice with fish pieces. The quantity is adequate and the taste is good. The restaurant and restroom are clean. Service is ok but they didn't provide drinking water. It's a must for restaurants serving spicy food. Overall, it's a must try restaurant.
Nice grilled fish. Rice is well cooked. Great tasty sauce, a bit spicy. I enjoyed the meal.
Restaurant has excellent food.
Incroyable
Especially the service
The bananas were not good at all like this since the early morning and the goat meat is not fresh super hard and the chicken has a strange smell also only the red rice is good and the patter otherwise everything else not good very disappointed!!!! And also the quality is not worth the zero price!!!
Mistreats abusive staff, hits, pushes. Physical and emotional violence. Coughing in the kitchen without protection.
I want to tell you that the owner is very rude. She keeps yelling at the staff. She talks and coughs on the food. His dishes are not authentic. She puts a lot of maggi cubes in the dish
I really liked the food, it was delicious, the service was impeccable, the atmosphere was relaxed, the prices were reasonable, I took it for takeaway. I recommend We will come back in sh allah
Maffe who smells and tastes burnt. A big disappointment for a first time at this restaurant! I wont go back
Discovered this restaurant on the Skip application recently and I must say that I am very happy to have ordered there. The Tillapia fish dish served with Aloko and brown rice was excellent . The size of the dish including the The fish was more than adequate for the price. The aloko were very tender and succulent and what about their vegetable marinade sauce which accompanied it all, Jau really liked the dish . Same thing for the chicken dish , aloko. and brown rice...well seasoned chicken and their accompanying sauce is REALLY a good restaurant to discover if you havent already.
We eat well there
Excellent Senegalese cuisine. Very good value for money
Do not reduce the amount of meat in the dibi based on the tip
The food is excellent, but I noticed that the vegetable portion is quite small compared to the amount of rice served. I often ask for extra vegetables, but my requests are not accommodated. I would be grateful if this could be fixed in the future.
Bad experience for me unfortunately.
Chicken without seasoning and not fresh. They say its grilling, but in fact its not at all. 0 taste what However, I was very eager to taste the dishes.
Good
This is Senegal
Recommends: goat with alloco and red rice Do not recommend: spring rolls
I ordered a beef dish cooked over charcoal, accompanied by semolina and cooked bananas. In principle it looked appetizing, but what I received was disappointing. The meat didnt taste like it had been cooked over charcoal; it simply seemed reheated after a first cooking. It was dry, hard and contained many pieces of bone. The semolina, on the other hand, was heavy and unappetizing. As for the service, the waitress told us that she could not advise us because she had never tasted the dishes. Im not coming back and I dont recommend it.
It was delicious, the service was good too!
Food was ok, no more. Looks like the rice was heated in the microwave and it wasnt fresh. A little disappointed. The service was good and so was the price.
I ordered fatayas and spring rolls for the first time, I had been wanting them for a long time. For the spring rolls, it was a disaster, you can see that it wasnt fresh at all, the stuffing was sticky, with a very strange aftertaste. The fatayas were good, but too much dough and not enough stuffing. RESPECT your customers, diaye lekk dafa sensitive, people can get very sick from eating products that are not fresh!
Frankly a little disappointed because we were very hungry and I ordered 2 dishes of dibi and when I got home there was just one dish with lamb and the other only with rice and bananas obviously we were not completely satisfied
A little expensive for the size of the portion but offers authentic Senegalese cuisine in Montreal, which is not very common. I probably would have been better off coming with friends to try several dishes and share them.
I was at Chez Khady restaurant today with my family. I had the braised chicken dish with atiékè and aloko like some members of my family. Honestly, we had a great time, it was very good. The bissap juice is also very good. Bravo to the waitress and cashier for their welcome and smile. I would happily return. Thank you Khady for taking me on a journey today. Kid-friendliness: Suitable for children
Good service best tchep in MTL
I ordered chicken with attieke but the chicken was not cooked so I couldnt eat it
A very good, reliable service with very kind staff, I highly recommend
Thanks to this restaurant I am a lover of Senegalese cuisine
Very very good experience, great staff and very affordable dishes
Very good, very well served and reasonable price
Thx you
I ordered Caldou and there is no bissap which is really important. The photos show that there will be a bissap but why not? I thought I was eating good Caldou with bissap but I am really upset when I opened my order. Do better please. If there is no question you should mention it or just do not post a picture that is not the same as the order. Im really upset
Exceptional restaurant.
I went to the restaurant with my wife and friend on Friday evening. Nothing was good right from the food to the service. I am not sure how this place is surviving by keeping this level of service.
Ordering on ubereats it was really delicious I recommend thank you!
Beautiful African restaurant. Meals always hot and of good quality. Take a look there.
The cleanest restaurant in Montreal, affordable price, well-stocked dishes. Well done
I went to Khady s house. I was missing an item that I paid for. I called giving the amounts I spoke to the representative (a young man) at the counter. I spent +$100. Imagine that he was not at all professional. Almost accusing me that I received the juice when I didnt. Finally he said that it wasnt his problem and that it was another person who took my order. He couldnt reimburse me. Honestly money is not a problem but the way to say it. Thank you for reviewing your customer service!! Otherwise the food was good.
Very delicious!
The quality of the cuisine is declining. I ordered Thiep the chicken was as hard as cardboard. Too bad because it was very good a few months ago.
I placed a large order for a baptism reception with them and I can tell you the service and the food were spot on. I recommend it if you have events.
I was there with my girlfriend for the first time wanting to eat good thiep, but the guy who was at the cash register on March 9, 2024 at 9:45 p.m. showed us so much disrespect at the time. to pay for stories about take-out containers that even the customers next door were surprised.ZERO PROFESSIONALISM
I go to Khady regularly but I noticed that the service was no longer the same. Rude staff, I was really disappointed. The cashier introduced himself as the owner which is not the case even though I had a complaint to file against his blatant lack of respect. Chez Khady is no longer what it used to be. However, the food remains good but the service is deplorable. There are other places where the service is more satisfactory. This will be my last time in this restaurant.
I ordered the maffe, the sauce is good, but there was only 3 very small pieces of meat in there and one of the three was just fat. Its a bit ridiculous for the price.
I baught from Uber Eats and the « dibi » was bland like zero flavour even the hot sauce was tasteless. The rice was good.
The food is delicious but the 3 small pieces of fish on the thiep especially when you order is lame...
Nobody came to take our orders, they are more concerned about their uber eats delivery orders than the customers who are in place in the restaurant. We decided to go at the counter so someone takes our order, we were left there with no care and when someone finally decided to take our order, he just left halfway taking our order to go serve another table, I swear to God this is no jokes. Horrible customer service, you either do delivery only or if you decide to do both delivery and dine in, then you gotta take care of your dine in customers too. Never coming back to this place. The food was not even that good.
As a Senegalese, I can say that the cuisine here is excellent! I had Thieboudienne and it was delicious, authentic and a nice portion! I will come back!
Very disappointed with the dishes we ordered today at Khady, the restaurant is no longer what it used to be, how can you order a fish thiep and you put half the fish and not even enough vegetables honestly even if everything has increased, improve your dishes and increase the price if possible so the customer will be satisfied with his order, the rice did not even have any taste and my friend who took the atieke was not at all satisfied limit I was ashamed to have taken him to an African restaurant very disappointed
Extremely disappointed. Food was cold. Looked and tasted like it was made 5 days ago. Nems were soggy. No ustensiles or napkins. Ordered from Uber eats
I have ordered chicken several times from them. I appreciated it.
The gentleman (cashier) has a lack of professional experience. Too aggressive
Cease is too aggressive
A very dynamic and helpful team Parking: Parking in front of the restaurant on the street Kid-friendliness: Airy space with beautiful decoration Wheelchair accessibility: Adapted entrance door
Good little spot. The service is nothing more. It s a place where a lot of young people come to eat. They buy a single dish and share it together. Otherwise, I liked the ginger juice made on site. The ballet of delivery men who come to take telephone orders is quite impressive. Parking: These are on the street. Its a busy street but easy to find parking Wheelchair accessibility: Not easily accessible
I went there with my little brother and since then I have become a regular because the food is so good!! You are the best!
Delicious, I find the flavors of Africa with these dishes. Generous quantity we take pleasure in tasting the dishes. The bissap does not taste like bissap, however I was disappointed with this drink. The only downside is the decoration of the place, I would have seen another decor. We are not transported by the decor and a little traditional music would have been great
Too slow in several
I ordered soupoukandja and its rubbish, an okra sauce thats not sticky and also its written with beef but its filled with rotten dried fish, frankly theyre terrible at cooking and the tchiep lets not even talk about it just geu
Whenever I m in Montreal I make sure to get something here ! And the service is also good
The rice really had no flavor and the meat let s not talk about it! Not seasoned well, there really was no taste! I had to put everything in a pan and add seasoning to save the rice! It s very disappointing especially coming from a Senegalese restaurant Not to mention the delivery man who did not follow any of the instructions provided and who left the order on the floor in front of my door!!! Truly, to date this is my worst Uber eats experience.
Excellent meals
Good place for African dishes. Grilled fish and fatayas were good.
Great yassa dish
Chez Khady is one of my favorite Senegalese restaurants in Montreal. The portions are generous, always fresh and delicious and the staff is very kind! I highly recommend
The food tasted very good, and great portions for the price. Cashier were not very friendly, but I will re-visit cause everything tasted delicious, and the place was clean.
Not bad
If only I can leave you a photo of the horror they call Kabaab. Be very careful with their sales once served, and I almost made a crazy gash in my mouth because of the small fragments of bones stuck to the pieces of Kabaab. And Kabaab is nothing other than burnt meat marinated in salted butter... No taste, no pleasure. The service is so long, the waiter scratches everywhere and a smell that I wouldnt dare compare it to a garbage dump. I regretted the day I wanted to try African cuisine at their place.
Its good, sometimes not and its still expensive.
Meat was very dry and there was a piece of cardboard packaging in the couscous
The leaf sauce from June 18 that I ate had no taste when I think I took several for the week what a waste Never again will I order this leaf sauce
The thiebou djenn and fatayas were excellent
I waited at least 30 minutes for a dishes that I ordered just for the cook to tell me that they didn t have any more of the dish I ordered. Yeah I waited at least 30 minutes for a dish I ordered only for the cook to tell me he no longer had the dish I ordered
Poor service , keep declining my call and not answering back , terrible.
AT KHADY: I am new in Montreal, with my mother who is a picky eater. But she loves Khady s food . The good is nicely seasoned, tasty, and adapted to a cosmopolitan taste. It is African style cuisine but nicely adapted for all to enjoy. When we visited, we found the atmosphere very pleasant, with nice African beats playing in the background. The staff is really very nice and friendly. Khady s herself is very customer service oriented and likes to see patrons satisfied. We have been ordering regularly from Khady s and we highly recommend ! Im new to Montreal, with my mother who is very demanding when it comes to food. But she loves the food at Chez Khady . The dishes are well seasoned, flavorful and suited to a cosmopolitan taste. It is African style cuisine but well adapted for everyone to enjoy. During our visit we found the atmosphere very pleasant, with good African rhythms playing. The staff is really very nice and friendly. Khady herself is very customer service oriented and loves to see happy customers. We regularly order from Chez Khady and we highly recommend !
We ordered on Door Dash 4 orders of grilled goat. It was 22$ per order and no side was included for this price. The taste was good but when I tell you almost half of the containers were filled with pieces of bones without even any meat on it, we couldn t believe it. It cost about 100$ for the 4 orders but I have had more actual meat in a single order of goat from other African restaurants in Montreal. I have ordered goat probably from 7 or 8 different restaurants in Montreal and this was the worst by far.
Delicious
Low energy attitude
The dibi has no taste, the Atieké also I m disappointed! The floor of the restaurant was very slippery, hygiene needs to be reviewed.
Awesome! Lamb and plantain with rice, also tried another dish Pure great food
Lackluster service and you are insulted when you decide to leave after waiting 40 minutes for our order. Its over for us at Khady! There are so many better African restaurants in Montreal anyway!
Maffé is excellent, large portions and the bissap juice is excellent. I will go back for sure
Always friendly staff
We ordered food at the office. Me and my colleague had food poisoning for a week. Stomach fragile for more than 2 weeks.
Good service, friendly and very good food. The dishes are copious, very good address, I will come back!
I liked this restaurant and went there frequently. But lately the service leaves something to be desired. I ordered a braised fish dish whose displayed price was 14.99 + tax: the cashier charged me 16.50 + tax, throwing me a menu from under the counter showing that the prices had changed. When I presented him with the menu on which I had seen the original price, he simply threw it in the trash, arguing that it was the old menu. On the menu, the description said that the fish was braised over charcoal, but to my surprise I discovered fried fish, very dry and without any flavor. The icing on the cake was that I got food poisoning. We want to encourage the African community, but with such deplorable services, it is better to safeguard its dignity and health. I am extremely disappointed, and I do not recommend it at all!
Well located and fast service
At Kadhya, it s really bad. They delivered me an incomplete and inedible meal. Furthermore, I wanted to contact them to ask for the missing part and they hung up on me. Horrible service. I will never eat their meal again. I spent about 30 dollars. Imagine the disappointment. For those who plan to go eat, dont be fooled. I am so disappointed.
I loved my meal delivered with Uber I think I was very hungry but I assure you everything was more than perfect I couldnt believe it was so good Thank you Khady
Nice African restaurant with tasty meals.
Not a bad restaurant
Very very poor quality of food for supposedly Senegalese dishes, It s quite poor I think.
My first time eating dinner at this location. I am amazed at the service accorded my family. The food is very delicious. We had a great time there and coming from Ontario, it was an awesome experience. Anytime I visit Montreal, I will come there to eat.
Excellent food. Good service.
the food is really good for those who want to eat African
Very good and I was hungry and I wasnt disappointed, I ate very well. This is the first time Ive ordered from this place and it wont be the last. I ordered a braised chicken dish with aloco and red rice, it was super good, I ate with gusto. I also had the fish mince pastels (8 pâtés) and spring rolls (6 rolls). Thank you very much
I placed an Uber eats order and I wasnt disappointed, it was very good, just maybe more vegetables but otherwise its great
Really friendly hosts. We discovered some really tasty traditional food!
I ordered spring rolls, I was shocked when I received them, burnt completely dry, in short, inedible, I called the restaurant, the waiter was extremely unpleasant and asked me to cancel the order to give me another one of course at my own expense.
I was there not long ago for a discovery but I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant. Although the food was good, the customer service was catastrophic.
Try the ginger juice thank me later I love the goat Great customer service Calm energy
Very fast service, tasty meals and very affordable prices
Still so tasty. Good value for money. I highly recommend.
Dibi not good doesnt even taste like grilling its a disappointment small portion with a lot of not fresh alloco bones.
I have been there many times, and to be honest the food is good , the portions are generous and the juices are amazing , for that no complaint, and I suggest you to try it. But but, in terms of service , the delay before you get to be serve is almost ridiculous . They gave a time that they never respect , you can order over the phone, they telling you to come in 30min you come even 40 min later and the food is still not ready !!! I always always always wait more than 20 min before getting my order , so to be short dont be in a hurry if you plan to order there , or order maybe 1 hour in advance maybe you will get lucky ( and that not even sure) .
Very good !!!
Amazing
Good african food, the place is very nice but little bit busy as they have just 1 cashier.
I had a hair in my food
Delicious food, excellent service
Very good food
We liked the food, but the service was AWFUL. A wait of 1 hour or more, I advise you to order a day in advance if you want your dish on time
Delicious
Warm welcome and very good service from our very helpful and really kind nurse! Very nice atmosphere and very good food
Very friendly restaurant, inexpensive and above all very good dish served and garnished. Not far from the metro and the staff is very welcoming.
The food is great
Good people good food I recommend
Quick background story: I am Canadian with Eastern European roots, who happened to also live for 10 months in Senegal during a university exchange in 2007-2008. At some point during my stay in Senegal, I developed such a total obsession with tieboudienne, which I had it for lunch nearly every day. Many years had past since my stay in Senegal, but every time I remember Senegal, I remember tieboudienne .. and my mouth starts watering. I now live in Toronto, where tieboudienne is hard to find. Visiting Montreal and having delicious tieboudienne Chez Khady brought back many great memories for me, especially because I paired it with jus de Bissap. What a special and delicious experience it was! Merci. Jërëjëf!!!
The braised chicken and vegetable salad are delicious. The service is courteous and attentive.
I didn t receive one of the two meals ordered on UberEats. Very disappointed.
The food is always exceptional; however, there is always a wait time. I only do take out but plan at least an extra 5-10 mns wait on top of the pickup time you were given.(Ill blame it on Covid) My favorites are: tiebou dieune, fish pastels, thiakry and oooohhh that ginger juice... I have yet to find a ginger juice as spicy as theirs.. Love it. Keep up the good job
Very good
I ordered spring rolls and fatayas. The worst experience Ive had. The order went straight into the trash. A total lack of respect for customers. I strongly recommend the restaurant.
A very good restaurant at an affordable and delicious price I recommend it to you Kind Employee Thank you so much
Ordered on doordash it s a great discovery, generous portion, and a delicious and authentic thieboudienne
the food is good but I found a hair in my gumbo sauce
You really dont even have shame. I ordered from you at 8 p.m. with the Uber Eats app and waited 1.5 hours to be delivered and I didnt even receive the order. Instead of even calling to say that you dont have the ingredients or something else, you dont do anything. If we could die of hunger, you would have already killed me. Its really not good to do this, customer service should be reviewed.
Excellent food, the restaurant is clean, the employees are really nice and helpful.
Let me tell you their food is amazing ! No I am The quality the quantity the price bro you ain t getting better believe me the wait time is hectic but it s worth it anytime i would go there
I read all the reviews and couldnt wait to order, I took a lamb dibi with brown rice, the meat was dry, overcooked and tasteless and the rice had no taste. I was super disappointed
I tasted the yassa it is SUCCULENT however the wait for the food is very long both for meals on site and for takeaway. the portions are generous and taste authentic. The only disappointment was not having any plantain with my dish even though I had been told there would be some....
Generous portion, good service, ordinary atmosphere. Food is good for the price. Im not going back. The cleanliness of the restaurant walls also bothers me.
The worst place in the universe. The waitress of October 16, 2022 has an arrogance that does not speak its name. Onion skin in my food. I will never set foot there again. 0 stars, hygiene 0
Good food
The food is amazing, so tasty with generous portions ! !
Just great
Ordered from Doordash. Food was extremely fresh and very tasty. Also, portions are generous.
Before the food was good but now its disgusting, no taste
Delicious
I drove 30 minutes to eat Senegalese food worthy of the comments. They made a mistake in choosing my meat for one of the dishes and for the other I chose goat. It was hard to break your teeth on, burnt, tasteless like it had been soaked in water and had been prepared days before. I cook better myself. Dont be surprised if people eat elsewhere. I spent $40 for nothing. Its shameful. I will never come back to your establishment again.
Cool
If you are in Montreal, please stop by there and you will thank me later . Brought me back to my parents dishes in Africa. Dont forget to order the ginger juice. It was my favorite!!!
Honestly, it s the best restaurant in the neighborhood. The dishes are very good. The chicken, rice and plantains are succulent. The staff are very nice. The place is very quiet. I will return!
The dishes are delicious the braised goat is nothing to say. The restaurant is very good, I recommend it without hesitation. And finally, fast delivery.
Very unpleasant restaurant, the person on the phone was extremely unpleasant and speaks very badly to customers. I strongly advise against it. Worst experience!!!!
