2760 Côte Saint-Charles, Saint-Lazare, QC J7T 2H8, Canada
Warm, intimate restaurant with a rustic charm featuring French-accented Canadian fare & a pub menu.
Great food definitely recommend the Hamburger the fries are great I just don’t recommend the coleslaw I even got the chefs special ice cream on the house. The service was great the waiters are super kind. The atmosphere was super cozy I really like the moose head on top of the fireplace. Alek,
We have been coming to Mon Village once or twice a year for several years. It has been our go to restaurant whenever out of province friends visit. The old Quebec atmosphere is great. The food is consistently excellent. We have never had a bad meal there, and over the years we’ve sampled a large variety of choices. However, unfortunately, what is also consistent is the poor service. To be fair, the last time we were there it was very busy and if this had been the first time for poor service, it could be forgiven. But it wasn’t. The wait to be served at first, the wait to receive each item we finally got to request - from drinks to the cheque - was unacceptable. Yesterday, we arrived at noon, and did not leave until 3:00 - not because we had planned a leisurely lunch, but because we waited and waited for everything. We were offered a refill of pre-meal drinks and finally, after 25 min, had to go to the bar to ask again and the manager kindly brought them. Where was our waitress?? We had to ask a bus boy for our take out trays for our left overs because our waitress didn't return. She never offered us coffee or dessert nor did she bring our bill. We just got up and went to the cash. We have had her as our server in the past and she has always been very friendly, pleasant and polite. But she has never provided the service expected. We have enjoyed lunch in the garden and in the pub area. Each time the service was below par. We have decided not to return to Mon Village. This is too bad because the ambience, and food are excellent.
We have eaten at Mon Village Restaurant many times over the past 30 years or so. Never disappoints. Great value for money. Food is excellent. Service was pretty good. My wife had the prime rib table d'hôte; we shared the blue cheese Waldorf salad before digging into our mains. I ordered the rib & chicken dinner. Everything was cooked, seasoned and sauced well. My only complaint is that they hid a bunch of *vegetables* under my fresh cut fries! (The sauteed veggies were actually very good, and the mountain of fries would have been a bit much anyway.)
What a lovely, warming, happy and overall great experience! The food was spectacular the service was wonderful as the waitress was kind and very attentive. Everything was exceptional to taste. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with care, politeness and just overall a happy environment as though every member of the crew is happy to be there and cares about your experience. Worth every dollar and we will be back.
After living in the region for more than 30 years, this was a first time at Mon Village. Having heard good things and seeing it just off the highway so many times passing by, finally arranged a lunch with a couple close friends and we had a great time, enjoying a delicious lunch in the old traditional setting of this exceptionally fine dining destination. Service was similarly outstanding and the very courteous server was very helpful, friendly, but not intrusive in the least. For a unique experience in an extremely homey and comfortable atmosphere, make Mon Village a definite dining choice - you won’t be disappointed! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The terrace is like an oasis. Peaceful, relaxing and calm. I had a delightful afternoon there. The server was pleasant and I even had a chat with the chef Rowen. He recommended I try the prime rib on my next visit but come early as it's goes fast.
No real issues It's a good restaurant. It's very rustic; that's the idea. I got pasta because I wasn't in the mood for steak that night. But at the party I was at, a lot of people got steak and enjoyed it. It was pretty expensive, but that's about what I expected from this type of place. If you feel like driving out here to check it out, you'll have a good time. The place was clean.
The cozy atmosphere paired with impeccable service creates the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. Indulge in their expertly crafted dishes, and savor each bite while enjoying the picturesque views. Whether you're a food enthusiast or simply looking for a charming escape, Mon Village is sure to exceed your expectations.
Went there last night, right next to a huge fireplace. Food was AMAZING, EATING THE leftovers now for breakfast and taste just as good (homemade potato fries and new york strip loin) added some eggs and WOW. The garlic bread is INSANE literally like 6 mini pizzas with TONS of cheese. Our waiters for strangely super young yet super efficient, funny and professional. This place is truly a 5 on 5 no doubt
The service was too long. The food was good and the atmosphere, near the fire pit, was excellent.
Excellent restaurant . Perfectly cooked salmon / Al dente veggies / lovely service ! Highly recommend!
Lovely old house converted into a restaurant. Service was amazing as always. Food was delicious. Food
This place always hits the bullseye for service and quality of food. My wife and i have been going here for years. Its right next to the highway but when you walk inside the atmosphere is amazing. I always say its like you traveled to a cozy ski lodge. 1000% you will not be disappointed going here, just make sure to call in advance to reserve a table because it fills up quick. i would eat here every day if i could afford it. Vegetarian options: Yes there is vehetarian options Kid-friendliness: Yes kid friendly and kids menu Wheelchair accessibility: Yes there is if i am not mistaken
I moved from Hudson 11 years ago, it was my favorite then and my favorite now, still exactly the same thanks to Bill the owner ,its still perfect Darryl ps hope your well regards to clodie
We got our plates after 1:30 Ill go elsewhere.
Very good meal and decent menu selection. Old time feel but cosy. Reasonably priced.
Really beautiful, authentic, relaxing and pleasant place to spend time with friends in the countryside near the city. Canadian cuisine is unpretentious but it s unfortunate that there is no vegetarian choice Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options Parking: Large parking lot Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp
Love this place. Have been going for decades. Country feel. Cosy, comfortable , great old fashioned service, good food
5 / 5 the best onion soup, the best hamburger, the best pecan pie. Have to come again to try other the best ! Delicious food. Nice and fast service. Definitely recomended!!
Wow, what a magnificent restaurant as if you were at home
Great place for a relaxed lunch or dinner in Mont Tremblant. Food and service was great. Very friendly atmosphere and I will definitely go back if I am in that area. Dietary restrictions: Have gluten free options
Soooo goooood
I have dined here three times and each time it has been great. All plates have been great. Portions are good. Selection is great.
Élise I think very helpful excellent food everything was perfect including the excellent fish and chips
Very good food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is friendly and the service is excellent!
Rustic and delicious
Extremely delicious food. Cava was great . Liked the interior design
One of my favorite places! Seafood Marscapone Pasta is awesome!
Stopped here on our way to the airport in Montreal. We were pressed for time and thought we should go somewhere else. Walking we said sorry but have to fly. He (Manager/Owner???) said you want something quick we can do that. French Onion soup and salad in 5 minutes and it was fantastic. Very happy he suggested we stay. Great service and great food. Pity we had to eat and run!
Amazing food & great staff
Very nice quiet restaurant with a lot of sitting options. Very rustic and a beautiful fireplace in the mail area and another behind the bar. A lot of people go to this restaurant, frequently busy. Best to make an appointment. Best french onion soup in the world.
Nice place, good service, my rare filet mignon was rather not very rare though...
Beautiful old building to enjoy a delicious and leisurely meal. The staff was incredibly attentive and professional. We will be going back soon!
Awesome food! Awesome service! Were coming back for sure.
Lovely resto, so much ambiance, and great staff.
As good as ever. Very polite and courteous service. Excellent food. Great rustic atmosphere.
The staff is very, very helpful! Beautiful place with a lot of history and memories.
The food was really good, service was on point. The price were affordable for a restaurant of this level!
Excellent!!!
This place is actually really nice! Very glad we stopped in yesterday. Great French onion soup and garlic bread!
Always great food.
Absolutely amazing place. From the food to the service to the beer amount haha, highly recommend!
So sad, moved back to La Belle province. So excited to bring my granddaughter to Mon Village . $120.00 later, never again. It was terrible. Talk about downhill from it being one of my favs decades ago.
Awesome food and atmosphere!
Great pub atmosphere.
Very good service from the server. Wheelchair accessibility: Disabled place near the door. Disabled toilet on the first floor, easy to access. I have a walker.
Beautiful old atmosphere Delicious foods Try it Food : 5/5
Delicious food and good service. Close to the highway convenient to stop by for food.
Lousy service food terrible this Is 3 try will never go back
Super good value for money. And very welcoming to babies!
Have been going here since i was born 31 years now! My parents brought me as a new baby and have grown up! Love love love it! Its a feel like home with great food and wonderful staff!
I recommend 100%!! Beautiful rustic/vintage atmosphere that me and my boyfriend loved. impeccable service, nothing to add, very satisfied. The presentations of the dishes are very beautiful, and everything is delicious. We had pasta, I appreciated the fact that we chose our sauce and the type of pasta. Very cool
Onion soup tasty but missing onion. Fresh veg mix great but should be hot ! Meat pork/chicken good. Heat your plates and bring to table immediately not after food cools. Expensive and a good cleaning of premises should be considered and cover all exposed light bulbs at least with milk glass globes.
Best prime beef au jus in the region! Parking: Large parking lot but often full. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, a ramp is set up at the front of the restaurant
Pretty good, French onion soup on point.
The food there was amazing, super tasty and the ribs coudn t be better. However, the first waitress we had was super rude and nasty with us, she started yelling us for sitting on a table she didn t said that was abiable. (We were sitting there because an other member of the staff told us to do it.) Native people from there that arribed after us were asked before us and serves food before. Moreover, some bad looks to us were made by the staff of the morning.
The excellent food. But the morning shift staff was very unpleasant. They treated us poorly and served local customers before us. I wouldnt go again, shame because the food was 10.
Not dog friendly
Excellent service Cozy place Rustic setting Good pub-ish food Food : 4/5 |
Always tasty and generous portions... addicted to their French onion soup . A smile goes a long way and costs little though...
I have eaten here several times but last week was not one of those times. The steak was a big chunk of beef served lukewarm with lots of fat and not easy to cut and non cooked veggies. It will be a while before I return.
Plump and tasty.
Charming restaurant, excellent service and the roast beef dip was very good!!
Great Waitresses. Polite and friendly. Ours was watchful and kept us well cared for. Highly recommend! Food : 5/5 |
Wonderful and tasty in all points!!! First time but not the last!!! Perfect for a great meal, for a date and would be the perfect place for weddings!! Amazing personnel and the ambiance is perfect for all events! Love it, love it!!! Food
Amazing atmosphere, staff was kind, funny and extremely generous. Will be coming back!
Amazing food and service.
Had lunch with friends! Sat in patio area! Service was extremely slow and unorganized! Company I was with was great!
I went to Mon Village with my late friends daughter, her kids and my wife today. This was not my first time here. I ordered Teriaki chicken and my friend granddaughter ordered a chicken sandwich. Both chicken dishes were overcooked, dried out and almost impossible to cut even with a serrated knife. They were sent back and I order fish and chips (as did one granddaughter) and the granddaughter--roast beef dip (as did two others at the table). The dip was great. Since my fish and chips was replacing a meal that I sent back, one would think that the next plate would be perfect. It was not. It did not resemble that which one of the granddaughters ordered and loved. My fish portion was small, greasy, the batter was abundant and the ends were over cooked. I didnt complain because I didnt want to eat alone since everyone was done with their meal. I was not happy. Dietary restrictions: Shellfish allergy was taken care of. Parking: Plenty of parking
It was my first time there, and it was outstanding with great service, food to live for, and a great location. Its definitely a repeat with my niece the next visit. Parking: Extremely large lot, so no concerns with where you park. Kid-friendliness: Definitely friendly as there were several tables with families, with a good age range
Rustic decor in an old school setting atmosphere. Very well executed old classics makes the food even more delicious. And service is top notch!
Steak sandwich was ok. missing seasoning though, it was very bland. Just a grilled piece of meat on a bun with nothing else in or on it.
Restaurant in an old house with an English pub style atmosphere. The menu is very well stocked to please everyone, ranging from several cuts of steak to pasta, seafood and the famous fish and ship. We loved it!
Vegetarian options: We love the restaurant and the atmosphere but unfortunately if you are a vegetarian or vegan there s hardly any options which I find very disappointing. Vegetarians/vegans don t only eat salad and pasta.
I guess they dont want business because every time I call to ask for take out they say that they close early for take out. Which is at 6pm, even though theyre open until 9pm. Its a shame that they are inflexible with these hours because I would love to try their food after hearing such great things
Restaurant says they are open until 9 pm - 7:30 pm get turned around on a monday - their kitchen is under construction they cant take any more clients. Way to be bad business.
My father used to visit here with his parents as a kid, recently he took us all to dinner here after a long road trip. Super cozy place, elevated food and service, and a good selection of drinks. Its almost as if a cozy log cabin got turned into a Parisian bistro of sorts!
Absolutely amazing. I highly recommend.
Excellent as always, I highly recommend the pepper steak as well as the garlic bread. The cheesecake is excellent. There is good service. Parking: Plenty of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for people with reduced mobility, there is an access ramp.
We often dine at Mon Village and after a superb performance at the Hudson Village Theatre we went with friends for an early dinner. Overall we were disappointed with the slow service, having to remind the waiter for a drink and then coffee. The food was OK, Teriyaki Chicken sauce tasted like it came from a bottle. The fish (fish and chips) was served on top of the French fries making them greasy. Even the fries served with the cheeseburger were not great. The quality was not equal to the price and the experience has diminished from previous visits.
Living in Ottawa, we make it a habit to stop at our favourite restaurant when we are heading East and always get a few orders of uncooked garlic bread that we bring home and freeze. Last night we order 12 slices of garlic bread to take out and instead of the usual 1 thickness, the slices we were given were 1/2 thick. What the heck! I wish we had thought to check the order before heading home as we would have asked for our money back. If this is now their new standard, we will not be stopping at Mon Village in the future. $20 for 12 thin slices of bread is hardly worth it. We are extremely disappointed customers.
Very nice atmosphere, very rustic, excellent food. I recommend the filet mignon sandwich with house-seasoned fries.
Post golf dinner with family, 12 people. First of all, Mon Village Was very accommodating in allowing last-minute reservation changes, as golf ran very long. They gave us our own little corner, which was much appreciated. We were looked after by Jenny, who was absolutely fabulous. Great sense of humour, and more importantly provided outstanding service. The food was excellent. We are never disappointed with this restaurant. I am 62 years old now and have been going there since I was about 12 years old, it is always top-notch and worth the drive.
Very cozy place! Good atmosphere, good service, good food. Perfect evening every time! Especially in winter next to the fires!
Food was good, some prices were up there, service was GREAT!
The dishes were too bland No taste. Service too slow I wont go back
The ambiance is really nice and cozy. Im very fond of their crème caramel and their home made blue cheese dressings with the wings is to die for!
Nice warm place. Good staff and good service. The food is excellent, hot, tasty. The sangria was very good too!
Large portions and great service! I recommend this restaurant! Food
Excellent. The ambiance was perfect. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Wonderful location too.
Very cozy restaurant, and good food!
The waiter had no finesse, he told me we only had 2 hours, he didnt tell me
My favorite restaurant in the Montreal area..
A very lovely place with great food! Don t miss the opportunity to visit them!!
Enjoyed the meal. Nice place.
Wonderful food and atmosphere!
Excellent restaurant. A beautiful rustic atmosphere in an old country house. A service that lives up to their reputation. The choice of dishes is varied (grilled meats, seafood, pasta, soup, salad and dessert) and everything is delicious! There is a pub section, a dining room section and a sublime garden terrace. I highly recommend both in groups and one-on-one!
Parfait,!!!!!! Wheelchair accessibility: Totally easy access !! Food : 5/5 |
Love Mon Village! The service is always top notch, the food is tasty, and the atmosphere is cozy. We recommend their fish and chips, hamburger steak, Reuben sandwich, and prime rib. Their fries are also my favourite!
Everything was delicious, the atmosphere is lovely and the staff is beyond kind as well. I had a great Birthday.
Stop there by 3pm for a quick lunch and what a surprise! we stayed until 5pm, everything was so good and the atmosphere was wonderful and quit, I do suggest to everyone who mist what a great place is supposed to be to go there, we will be back anytime for sure! Thanks Mon Village!!!!
Prime rib was first undercooked then chewy and inedible. Then they made no attempt to compensate us for one of our party not eating.
Ive been going to Mon Village regularly for years, but last night was the worst meal Ive ever been served. I ordered the prime cut 12 oz, medium (house specialty). It arrived uncooked. Not rare, but like a piece of uncooked meat, no sign of any heat being applied to it. I couldnt cut it as it moved under the knife. I sent it back, and it returned a little better, but still unable to cut through it. The server, offered to bring a new one, which I accepted. That arrived, but was very tough and chewy and also inedible. I offered a piece to my dinner guests and they agreed it was unacceptable. I ended up with no main course, since by the time they finally took it away, it was too late to order another meal, everyone else had finished. I could not even eat the vegetables, since they took my plate away in order to discount the meal from my bill. I dont ever complain about my meals at restaurants, nor return the food, and I understand the difficulties of the business, particularly in the current financial climate, however, this was unacceptable. Its also customary for restaurants to offer free drinks or dessert by way of apology when this sort of thing happens. No such offer was forthcoming. I wont be back.
Went here tonight for the first time. Hopefully wont be the last, since we dont live near. First of all, theres the setting, a beautiful rustic former farm homestead with lots of nooks and crannies to satisfy any event, whether its an intimate dinner for two or a group dinner. Then theres the food...oh my, so good! Prime rib was amazing! Last but not least was the service. Willhem was just the best! Perfect service...friendly and knowledgeable without being intrusive. Highly recommend this place! Cant wait to go back when we are in the area again.
Incredible ad. Time stops when we are here!
Well, I had read enough reviews and post living in the area well over 25 years we finally made our way to Mon Village tonight. Sitting at 7:30, restaurant not overly busy. Service for anything took forever. Water not being replenished and having to ask for it. Meat was great, Indian dish not great but not bad. By 9:30 we finally ended up getting the desserts menu... We sat there looking at the waiter talking the other table off so much so that another waitress ended up taking our order. We wanted to take the dessert home but waiter was still talking to the other table. I ended having to go the other side to have it wrapped so we could leave. I feel the restaurant is great, had we had a waiter wait on us would have made the experience different but it is what it is... Certainly makes me question going back.
Very disappointed in level of service we received today. 3 couples came all the way from Ottawa and asked to take home 36 uncooked garlic bread and we were limited to only 18 pieces for the group. We do this every time we drive by so do not understand why we were denied today. A sale is a sale! The girl who spoke with us was very friendly and apologetic but we still left very disappointed in management s decision.
I was there with my family for a birthday dinner. Everything was perfect. Food
I have been to this restaurant for years. My boyfriend and I make a point to go once every month because we love it so much. We have had many things on the menu, from the huntclub steak, the Mon village steak, the prime rib, filet melt, penne marscapone with chicken, cheesecake, etc. Everything has always been delicious and served to our liking. The waiters and waitresses are incredibly friendly and pleasant. We had Mike as our waiter yesterday and he was particularly great! We had a reservation at 7:30pm but had a small emergency and had to return home. We called and let them know that we wouldnt make it before 7:50pm (last call for ordering food as kitchen closed at 8pm). They were very understanding and Mike, our waiter, said he would tell the kitchen they would be getting an order a little later than usual today and that it was no problem. We were so thankful! We always recommend this restaurant to friends and family, and everyone who tries it loves it. Highly recommended!
We went in dec.the food and service was excellent! We went yesterday the food was great! The service was pitiful. The young lady did not ask if we wanted another drink, nor offer parmesan cheese , nor offer chili flakes, did not ask how our meal was?. She came back and asked if we wanted anything else? We asked for the bill. while we waited ; she gave other people coffee and gave another table their bill before ours and actually the other table requested their bill after we did! She did not deserve the 10% tip I gave her! I do tip well when I am served well! Even though women are believed to be bad tippers! Thats only bcs we are usually under paid and have more responsibilities!
I ordered a pasta dish and found there wasnt much sauce . My husband ordered fish and chips , and he found there was more batter than fish. Kid-friendliness: Very friendly
Great, we had a private room, the waiters and waitresses always had a nice smile and the food was excellent
What a unique and quaint restaurant. It s like a walk back in time with its rustic atmosphere and decor. The waiters and waitresses were kind and attentive and the food was great. Overall a great experience and a must visit.
For Valentines Day, I had dinner with my partner, great service from Jessica, great atmosphere, great meal. A place that I recommend to everyone, your steak is cooked to perfection, charcoal cooking, several separate sections which give you a feeling of privacy, the prices are more than reasonable. Truly a 5 star experience, I will return several times
Update! We went back yesterday with a group of friends. Another great meal! Very good service! My Coquille Mon Village was absolutely delicious. I will definitely have that again. We also had the Coquille Saint Jacques table dhôte, grilled salmon, the filet mignon, and the grilled chicken mandarin salad. Everyone enjoyed each of their dishes. We had a great lunch today! I started with the spinach, pear and goat cheese salad and then had the blackened cod with jumbo shrimp. My dessert was the eggnog raisin rum sauce cheesecake. The cod was cooked perfectly. Loved the salad and dessert. I would definitely have this meal again. My boyfriend had the French onion soup, the fish and chips and the chocolate fudge pecan pie. He enjoyed everything. Our friend took the Cajun style Atlantic salmon and the frozen Alaska lemon pie. She absolutely loved her dessert! We were impressed by how good the food was and will definitely be back again! Compliments to the chef!
We have been enjoying this place for over 40 years, love the food and atmosphere, live further away now but still go when in the area, just don t understand why the restrooms have not been updated in 40 years they are in desperate need of an update. But still love the place!
Had the seafood got home threw up twice till 2:00 in the morning Ill make sure Ill stay away from the seafood Merry Christmas
A magical atmosphere, very calm and welcoming. good prices for great quality. Dont waste your time looking for a fast food chain... treat yourself and enjoy a quality meal in a place that really knows how to take care of its guests.
Really cool rustic vibe, you have that chalet-style hospitality with home cooked style meals. The food was a bit underwhelming on my last visit but looking forward to giving it another shot.
An absolutely delightful dining experience! The ambiance exudes a charming coziness and warmth, creating a wonderful setting for a meal. The youthful and energetic servers excel in their roles, demonstrating professionalism and skill. Their exceptional service greatly enhances the overall experience. I recommend without hesitation.
Great food. Best cheesy garlic bread around. Their whole menu is delicious.
This is a fantastic restaurant. Foods amazing, the staff very friendly and in the summer the outdoor garden dinning area is spectacular Parking: It needs to be repaved Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, there is
Favorite for this restaurant. The prime rib is delicious. What can we say about the pecan and fondant chocolate pie? Yummm Exceptional service. Hot food the way I like it I recommend and I will definitely return. The house is incredibly charming. Go there, its worth the detour!
Very nice place! Old house, wood fire. Frankly disappointing meal on 4 different dishes... Bad cooking... No flavor in the vegetables, sauces, meats...
First experience Saturday January 6. Great welcoming interior, food was excellent, we loved our service. I highly recommend this restaurant. However, it is important to make a reservation even if there are only two of you
Ive loved this place since the late 80s!! The warm homey ambiance, the service and of course, the food! In all these years, none of the outstanding features of Mom Village have diminished at all....Was, is and probably will always be a superb dining experience?!
The experience at Mon Village is always great. We stop there quite often while travelling to Montreal. Its location right next to the highway is ideal. Food and service is always great. The fireplace makes it very cozy during winter time too. I had the Ginger Beef Stir fry and it was delicious.
Great service and ambiance
We stopped for lunch on a trip from Nova Scotia to Ontario. It was a great choice! The pizza is delicious with high quality ingredients, delicious sauce and toppings. The whole place is very clean too. We enjoyed chatting with the couple who own it. Service is great and we will be back someday.
Spectacular restaurant in a cozy setting. The cheese garlic bread is wonderful, as is all the food for that matter. I dont know how they do it, but everything is bursting with flavor. If youve never been, GO! You will love it. The menu is huge so if you cant find something thats on you.
hello owners, sadly, its time to relook at the menu and live up to the prices you are charging for the microwaved frozen food. I had so much loyalty and appreciation for the restaurant and some fond memories from a few years ago.. and now this.. food was so mediocre, really dry and not a good quality.. we had a few people at the table - some got cold food, some got dry and crusty from overdrying in the fridge and microwave ( for meats!! unacceptable).. in essence, the food tastes like a cafeteria.. actually some cafeterias taste better... anyway, please match the quality of your meals to the price level you are charging. but sadly, tonight you lost the loyalty of a few families, and I am sure they will share their experiences with others. time for a change.
Went for Christmas party, food was delicious, staff was friendly
Food was acceptable. Atmosphere was beautiful. Wait staff was disappointingly scarce.
Excellent as usual.
Perfect homey cooking and ambiance!
Hearty food done well and in large portions. The seafood pasta I had here was pretty good and the garlic bread that accompanied it was fantastic. Food : 4/5
