5156 Rue Jean-Talon E, Saint-Léonard, QC H1S 1K7, Canada
Low-key restaurant offering global halal fare, including sandwiches, soups, spring rolls & skewers.
Algerian cuisine with variety of tasty, well-priced foods. From variety of soups to grilled meats, sandwiches trios and original soda like Selecto. Super tasty
We absolutely loved the food, especially the specialties like Douara. The place is incredibly welcoming, with a warm atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The service was perfect--the waitresses were very friendly and attentive, adding to the overall experience. We also thoroughly enjoyed the "Crepone," which was the perfect way to end a delicious meal.
My 3rd time trying Algerian food, and was not disappointed. There is a nice variety of dishes. We befriended another customer who was Algerian and he helped us with the menu a bit, he noted there are a few items you don't find at other Algerian restaurants which was a delight to hear. We got an assortment of dishes including the shashouka, fromage omelette frites and some meat skewers. For how much food we ordered, the price was actually great. We were probably the only non-arabs in there, and the service was fantastic. I felt like they appreciated that we were trying out their food.
We had dining at Le Gout du Bled, an Algerian gem that truly embodies the essence of Mediterranean cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The food here is nothing short of amazing. Every dish is a burst of flavor, rich with the traditional spices and ingredients that make Algerian cuisine so unique. The couscous was perfectly fluffy, and the tagines were simmered to perfection, each bite transporting me straight to the Mediterranean coast to the Algerian Sahara. The freshness of the ingredients and the authenticity of the flavors truly stood out. What made the experience even better was the excellent service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, ensuring that I had everything I needed to enjoy my meal. Their passion for the food and culture was evident, making the dining experience all the more enjoyable. If you're looking for a place that offers delicious, authentic Algerian food and top-notch service well this is definitely worth a visit. It’s a culinary journey you won’t want to miss!
Menu looks rich on paper but they did not have several dishes that we wanted. Meat portions are on the small side but the French fries are too generous (may be too much). Food is tasty and prices are fair. Service is very good and patient.
Very disapointed of the food! I was there few times ago, it was better than this time! Microwived couscous! it's not serving fresh and original meals anymore! NOT RECOMMANDED :(
First time trying Algerian food and we were pleasantly surprised. We’re visiting Montreal and picked the restaurant randomly from Google based on proximity. Lucky for us, restaurant is located in a plaza that has parking in front, a rarity in Montreal. Upon walking in, restaurant was clean and airy. We were seated right away. Most of the service staff didn’t speak English and the menu was in French so we struggled a little bit. But then we got a super sweet waitress who spoke English. She was very patient with us and explained the menu. We ordered a lentil soup, Algerian style borek, a plat du jour (which was a meatballs and meat bowl with chickpeas in a gravy/soup base), a kids meal (hamburger, fries, juice pack and a kinder egg surprise), brochettes with Algerian style egg French fries. We had bread to go with the soup and the plat du jour. Overall, a hearty, healthy meal and we had plenty of leftovers for dinner. Prices are very reasonable as well. If you’re on the fence, definitely give this restaurant a try!
Place is busy food is classic. Their shawarma bread was hard for me. Other then try fries with eggs. Service was so good.
Be careful when you pay in cash they give you the amount taxes included but they dont take out the receipt that means they are stealing the tax money.
I give 3 stars because the food is excellent, but if you want to order on Uber eats, the menu is so poorly done!!!!! You have to leave comments under each order and hope they read it. Frankly, it needs to be reviewed.
Good experience. Quality and reasonable price
Good service, reasonable prices and delicious food
10/10 I ordered from them via Doordash and honestly, I was super surprised! Everything I asked for was respected, which is rare for delivery. The food was just great, a real treat. I recommend 100% and I plan to eat there soon!
Service that leaves something to be desired. After we were seated, we waited 20 minutes without anyone coming to take our order knowing that there was no traffic. The waitresses spent their time cleaning and sweeping instead of visiting customers.
I highly recommend a real taste of the country, the warm welcome and the attentive staff
Super
A simple dish takes more than fifty minutes. If you are hungry, I dont recommend this restaurant because you will be hungry and angry at the same time.
Excellent food I recommend every time I go to Montreal
As rich in meat as poor in sauce
Very good team, especially Sone.
delicious dishes especially the ground meat tacos and there is the real atmosphere of Algeria
We were today my friend chose the chakhchoukha and I chose the couscous it was average in taste and there was no lban for my couscous and the two dishes were not hot enough, for the cheap price really respectable thank you.
Gorgeous
I give 3 stars for the welcome, I always took takeaway, the first time I sit down to eat, message to the manager-owner, you have a reputation, we have heard the media talking about you, you present our country, this branch has a cleanliness problem, the toilets are catastrophic, dirt, sink and seat dirty and very old, a very dirty trash can, the fries are also catastrophic, quality of the potatoes mediocre, oily, black at the end, you should have imported our good Algerian potatoes, while going to the bathroom I saw the bins full of cut, uncovered potatoes. Take the time to renovate your restaurant, cleanliness is the key to the success of any project, especially catering.
Very unfortunate the food is good but bad experience with non-respectful cashier staff, we left out of disgust at the behavior.
The service is good, but the food is honestly not good at all. I definitely dont recommend the Douara tagine.
Excellent place to eat with friends or family I highly recommend.
Thank you very much to the rapidity restaurant team, great services
a very unique team, the dishes have magnificent taste and the services are very fast and organized
Kid-friendliness: Oui. Food
I asked for couscous.. firstly its expensive plus I asked if they can add just a little bit of carrots and chickpeas, the waitress brings back my dish and comes back telling me that the dishes are made as I cant add that to you I asked to speak with the manager, he is unfortunately not there. A long time ago too, I made an order for rechta it was old from the day before I think .. That s not nice of you I then leave my opinion.
Sincerely Top of Top I ordered with my friend Mtawem and Chetiteha meat really too delicious. Without forgetting cleanliness, keep up the good work
I am very disappointed with this restaurant. The food was not good, the value for money is poor and the customer service is almost non-existent I do not recommend this place 0/10
The dishes are very good and made with a desire to satisfy customers, especially, like me, those looking for the taste of the country:)). In terms of improvement: the restaurant could be a little cleaner, with more toilets.
Excellent
The food is not delicious and not worth the price
The best restaurant on the island of Montreal, very professional staff, really good food.
Best Algerian restaurant in Montreal
Am I the only one who didnt like the service? Too bad
The skewers are super good, typically Algerian
I really liked this restaurant with traditional Algerian cuisine. The specialty recipes are excellent
As usual, the grills were excellent. A real treat for lovers of Algerian cuisine.
Sardine dish with 6 sardines and a kilo of fries...bad experience
First Visit. Knowing that I have already ordered by Uber quite a few times. Perfect and clean service. Food is good, portions good. CV price at normal. Access to several buses A good experience. Coming back inshalah to try something else. A beautiful atmosphere and decor from Bled. Thank you and good luck.
Clean restaurant, good Algerian dishes that warm the heart. The staff is pleasant, fast and efficient. Thank you for your service
Probably the best value for money in Montreal! Everything is delicious! I really recommend it.

Excellent work Thank you for your hospitality
Good restaurant with good Algerian dishes. Everything was very good, but we fell in love with the skewers, it really felt like we were in the countryside! The service was very good, smiling servers and it was fast.
Nice atmosphere, good taste and good service, he just got stuck in the bill (plus $20) when I went back a second time, I mentioned that it was more expensive the last time he told me to bring me the receipt and I rarely collect the invoices!
This is a place to avoid with family, I will never set foot again.
Kitchen sucks before was good but this is really a downgrade
Best restaurant in Montreal bravo
109% DZ
The service in your restaurant in Viau is catastrophic 1 hour wait
I have a very good impression of the restaurant! Smiling staff and fast service. Succulent food, hats off to the chef!
I discovered this restaurant for the first time and we ordered the Bled dish which was delicious. I really felt the atmosphere of Algeria, the staff were welcoming and smiling. I am very satisfied with this experience.
I give 2 stars only for the waitresses who work there because they deserve 5 stars, but the rest of the team doesnt. There were 3 Algerian waitresses: one who wears the veil and speaks Arabic, and two who speak Kabyle, machallah machallah. The food, I would say, deserves a 7/10. The liver was blue, therefore expired. The sausages (merguez) gave off a strange smell and had an aftertaste, they were also expired. Regarding the girls service, nothing to say, I take my hat off to them and wish them good luck. Now I come to the subject for which I am writing this comment. Long story short, there was a family friend who wanted to pay the bill. He went to ask for the total while talking to Dad, waiting for the man at the cash register to give him the price so he could pay. After paying without paying attention, he said in Kabyle, youre missing a dollar, arent you, because most of the waitresses, customers, etc., speak Kabyle. Maybe he thought the cashier also spoke Kabyle. From the start, there was no smile, no kind words like did you eat well, nothing. It seemed like we were eating with our own money, but oh well. Then he gave a weird look and said in front of everyone in a mean way, Im not Kabyle, I dont understand, in a way that I cant describe in words. You have to see the scene to understand. But what is this racism? There are a thousand ways to say that you dont understand, like sorry, I dont understand Kabyle. Im Kabyle, but I speak in Arabic with the waitress who speaks Arabic, that doesnt bother me. It really hurts my heart because I am Algerian and proud of it. I speak and understand both official languages of my country perfectly. I believe that Tamazight (Kabyle) is an official language in Algeria.
I dealt with a lovely waitress called Lamia and I hope I got her name right, she was smiling, helpful and she went out of her way for the customers, the matlou3, the hmiss, the grills were to the taste of our dear Algeria, personally I encourage the whole team to persevere, well done.
Franchement...the best ever... la nourriture coupe le souffle ..le meilleur en terme de choix et de goût...Bravo à toute léquipe .... Machaallah Vegetarian options: All kinds of veggies
Its changed a lot, the last time I was it was excellent
Really. Good food
Good morning, Excellent service, the Algerian food is excellent, nothing to say. We will return another time with pleasure. Well done to you
Magnificent restaurant
There is a robot cat
I liked the food I give it 11/10. The servers are nice, smiling and fast, the food was served hot I recommend the cousous bouzelouf and the skewers.
Family good price shwaaa dyalou hayl bezzf bnin I have a stomach problem and I ate but I didnt have any pain. 3endhom criponiiii but maklitouch kaaad f kelbbbii
Magnificent restaurant
Im not going to talk about the food or the welcome because its really acceptable and its good, on the other hand Im going to talk to the owner about the jean-talon restaurant and the young people who are always in front of the store watching those who come and those who leave we can no longer come as a family and even the young people waiting inside the restaurant it really bothers us as a family, we have to talk with them about not staying in front of the restaurant or else tell us which of your restaurants is the most family-friendly Jean Talon - Viau - Laval
It was delicious! The taste of the country was on our plates.
The food quality is should be considered, a big flop in the quality, however the service and the atmosphere has been improved.
The service was good and the wait time was acceptable
Very nice place and food to match
Theyre about to hang up on you. No respect on the phone from the guy. Hang up very quickly without waiting. Fortunately there are plenty of restaurants on Jean Talon, what would he do if he was alone???
Well received and served. Merxi
