I found a piece of plastic in my mushroom soup, and my wife did as well. I informed the waitress and even showed her the piece in the dish, but her only reaction was a dismissive “Ahh, okay.” There was no apology or attempt to address the situation. To make matters worse, both soups—uneaten—were still included on the bill. This level of service is completely unacceptable, and I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Came with my company for Christmas dinner (67 employees). Waiters were very nice. They tried their best to be quick and efficient. They kept the water flowing and the tables clean. Food I got was delicious
Had our company holiday dinner here. Everything I chose for my meal was very good. As for the salmon, I would have preferred the sauce on the side as a personal preference. My colleagues who ordered the other dishes were disappointed. Our server was smiley and friendly, everyone complimented his service. The restaurant is clean with modern decor. The women’s bathroom - avoid if you can. It is run down, smelly and the door to your stall is a painted piece of plywood.
Came here to eat and get rid of my gift cards. I had all you can eat mussels which were good and crab cakes (fake crab) which were ok. Came to pay with my gift cards and was told that i couldn't because the cards can't be used because I had all you can eat mussels. Since the mussels were a promo, the cards can't be used. Very shady business practices because gifts cards should be as good as cash. I should've asked for a manager and make a bigger fuss though. It was a decent food experience that just ended in stupidity.
this Academie restaurant was great we had a special occasion to celebrate and was at the same a very sad moment for us Not only was the staff extremely good and the food was great also
Overall, the experience is questionable and not worth the price for mediocre food. On one hand, everything looks good, but on the other the food is way too pricey for what it is. When we arrived, it took about 10 minutes for a worker to come greet us even though the restaurant wasn't half full. The taste was sub-par, most of our party would give it a 3/10 rating on taste alone. It had no flavor and tasted like store bought garbage at 10x its value. Meat felt rubbery, pasta tasted like Kraft dinner and pizza tasted like frozen Costco dough. The presentation is pretty good but doesn't excuse how bad it tasted. However the sides to the main dishes were slightly better. The side salad had random vegetables thrown together, leaves and a few cherry tomatoes, with no vinaigrette. The fries tasted like Costco fries They claim they make the pasta sauce in house, but I swear it tastes like sauce made from a Kraft dinner cheese packet.
Fantastic food, great service except for the waitress of the next table that we heard tell other clients not to take the tartar. Very unprofessional and to add insult to injury, my wife took the tartar and she said it was exceptionally good. Thanks again for an extraordinary culinary experience. Will definitely be returning.
The food was amazing and our server was good, too. My poor review is due to the fact that they have ZERO flexibility. I can’t eat gluten so asked for a salad in place of the fries that came with my meal (cross contamination issue) and was told that there were absolutely no substitutions allowed. I could not get the fries and then order a salad on top of my meal?!?! I have never heard of this much rigidity! I could have handled even a surcharge if they must be that cheap, but to order something on top of?!?! Too much. Unfortunately I won’t be going back.
Great plate!
We were a group of 42 people, the food was excellent, generous portions. Two young waitresses with very little experience were assigned to our three tables. The service was very good until dessert and coffee. They lost patience and couldnt wait to finish. The bills were given without going around the tables to find out who wanted dessert.
Classic cuisine restaurant at a reasonable budget for 4 adults. The service was impeccable and attentive from Francis. I recommend it for an unpretentious family dinner and bringing your own wine helps to lower the bill, we love it
Worst restaurant I have ever been to. I do not recommend
Great service, perfect atmosphere too. The meal, on the other hand, was somewhat unfresh; I had severe indigestion.
I liked the place, it was for the 75th birth anniversary of a very good friend that my partner and I met during a cruise, eighteen years ago now, and so did his partner and their families and friends. We were around forty-five guests. It was great.
Wow extra delicious A1
food and service was very good
Group dinner, bring your own wine. Delicious!
We made reservations for a group of about 25 people on a Saturday dinner time. We were treated to a very reasonably priced group menu (around $25/person) and everyone loved their dish. The service was perfect. The restaurant even allowed us to bring our own cake, for a fee of $10 if we cut it ourselves. Finally, dont forget that its a BYOB, which reduces the bill considerably. What more could you ask for... We will definitely go back and with a group, its really ideal!!
A crab cake made from pollock is not a real crab cake! risotto no taste! and terrible service! We had to ask the waiter for water twice while the man was telling his life story to his usual customers at the table behind! Big lack of professionalism! Go to Lionnel next door instead. . a little more expensive but on the mark! Honestly, the academy isn t what it used to be! Not edible for $145, a real shame!
Table dhôte for a varied dinner at an attractive price to make it different I chose a duck confit poutine generous dish, my husband the veal marsala Only downside as noted in other reviews too dirty Special thanks to Suzanne for her excellent service
As there were only 6 customers during my visit to this restaurant, from 11:20 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. (you read that correctly), I opted for a dish from the lunch menu. The real menu is exhaustive and everything looks appetizing. Excellent service.
Pleasant atmosphere. Beautiful, super clean restaurant. A large and varied choice, the portions more than generous, very tasty and good. We were served by Francis. Someone who loves their job, super jovial, efficient, kind and funny. Very happy to return there in the near future!!! Thanks again!!
Exquisite food. There were 4 of us and everyone enjoyed it. Very good service from Francis (as usual).
Service with Francis 10/10 Parking: Insistent individual who asks for money in the parking lot, he goes to people as soon as they park.
Incredibly good and impeccable service.
I bought a plate of prime rib my steak was really putty unfortunately I can imagine this type of meal for a price of $55 per steak short service very good ordinary food!!!!
Excellent food and very good service.
The waitress Laurie is very nice and so is the big boss. They are very courteous, nice atmosphere. The plates are generous and warm, thank you. France xxx
A big 10/10 to Francis who always provides superb service every time we come with a great waiter! And amazing meals thank you very much!
We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children. Apart from my sons spaghetti, no one really liked his dinner. There are 3 of us who had a pasta dish with meat and we all found that it tasted like cloves. Like dumpling stew meat! Not good at all... 2 had a dish that tasted too much like garlic and they felt queasy afterwards. I do not recommend this restaurant unfortunately!
Good food good service
I was a little worried because of some of the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. For the price, the meat was perfectly cooked, medium-rare, exactly how I like it. The pasta carbonara was also delicious, with a creamy, well-seasoned sauce. Ive been to better steakhouses or meat restaurants before, but the prices were double. For value for money, this restaurant is truly excellent. Additionally, the waitress was very kind and cheerful, which made the experience even more pleasant. I highly recommend!
Ive been there 3 times with a group and its great.
Apart from the toilets which needed attention, overall it was good nothing more The waitress was charming
Good food, great service and its a bring your own wine/beer. The only downside is the limited parking.
Dijon mussels and rack of lamb ...a delight
Great service, generous quantity! I had the seafood risotto which was very good and the quantity of seafood was amazing! The salmon tartare was very good according to my daughter! Thanks to our waitress Melissa, really very professional and pleasant.
Everything is always delicious! The staff is courteous, the pasta is excellent and fresh
Very ordinary food! Very disappointed Tasteless and overcooked garlic paste In the table dhôte theNovitello can of shrimp and tiny scallops without taste without flavor too thick sauce Regular fries We will not go back
Very good food and excellent service.
We were a group for a party. We entered at 5:30 p.m. We received our meals late, it was a very long time!! and not all the plates at the same time! We had to often ask for water and Parmesan cheese because otherwise we werent given any at all! We ate the cake that we had brought, the table was not completely cleared. We didnt even have time to ask for coffee and tea until they gave us our bill!! and said we HAD to leave quickly!!! it was 7:30 p.m. what is this #%*# restaurant!!!! Never again and I do NOT recommend this place.
Check your invoices before paying. Yesterday, we were charged $40 on the menu mentioned at $35... He was short of bread. Very long wait despite a reservation.
Really disappointed with the service!! I was really a choker but really bad service! The waitress really gives the restaurant a bad reputation
Very good service from Francis our very courteous server plate can be overloaded but good
Superb festive experience with our entire work team! Thank you FRANCIS for the excellent service! We will return to visit you during our next event! Manon Grimard AB.Tax
The quantities and quality of the food were excellent. Our waitress was very friendly but could have stopped by a little often. But it was understandable with Mothers Day. We ate VERY well.
We were bitterly disappointed because 2 people with celiac disease could have been very ill without the vigilance of our waitress because she told us that the pasta was gluten-free and cooked in the same water. An academy that teaches. Please inform yourself gluten free to eat filet mignon and me a flank steak Dietary restrictions: Amazing they do gluten free and gluten together
My wife, daughter and I visited this place for dinner, the food was good but not bad, the service was average (we felt a little rushed), the atmosphere less than average. There was a table of merry men, near ours, who were talking and laughing so loudly that we had to shout among ourselves to speak to each other, very unpleasant. In addition, no member of the staff saw fit to politely advise these people to tone down a little, once again very unpleasant! All in all, for the amount paid, the experience was very ordinary, nothing more.
Impeccable service on everything from the reception to the waitress and the kitchen and also the atmosphere of the restaurant. This is the second time that I have gone to this restaurant located in Sainte-Thérèse on Saturday evening. The second we celebrated a birthday. We were a group of 22 people, 2 tables of 11 people. Both tables told me the same thing, impeccable service. Very good choice of varied menu. Also I highly recommend it to people who are celiac it is very important however to notify the waitress or waiter before placing your order. In our group there was a celiac person. She told me the menu was very good.
The food is bad. Decent service.
I felt a little cramped, however the food and staff were great. Thank you.
Me and my mother ate really well! Our server Francis was A1 thank you for the service! From starter to dessert everything was great! Thanks again!
Very disappointing, unlike other branches. Weve been there a few times and tonight was their last chance. Terribly long, no empathy, hair all over the place and no excuses... Im going to drive further to go to another branch.
Place frozen in the 2000s (in a kitsch bad way). I arrive to pay, the gift card that I received as a gift is not accepted... a scam and bordering on fraud... DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND $, GO ELSEWHERE (you will regret it otherwise)
Was disappointed with the food, we are used to the one in Laval where we typically got a better overall quality
Great service, was told fresh french fries and they were the common frozen ones, food very salty.
The food is excellent, impeccable service...I highly recommend
PLEASE NOTE that we do not accept Costco gift certificates.
*****Very good and bring your own wine***** Kid-friendliness: Quite expensive childrens meal $12/ + tax
Francis gives excellent service! We were a large group and the value for money was very good.
Stunning! The service and food are excellent! The waiter even took the time to put ice in our glasses!!!
They dont honor Costco gift certificates, which are basically like gift cards. They refuse to allow you to take more than one $50 gift certificate per table. They told us this in a very nonchalant way. We left for the Laval branch where we were served very well and where they took our 2 $50 gift certificates (for a total of $100) during the same meal. We will always return to the one in Laval now even if we live in St-Jérome.
The fresh pasta is delicious and the staff is courteous. They even have several vegetarian options!
Excellent value for money. Nice variety on the menu, fresh ingredients. Exceptional service! A sure value
Unfortunately the quality is not what it was Frozen fries, regular meat, veal escalope sauce that looks like it was made of cane.... For $150
ATTENTION. They do NOT take the 2 costco certificates so you have to come back a second time if you want to use them. The food is pretty ordinary, very expensive for whats on your plate. Very disappointed, we will not go back. It s no longer the restaurant it used to be .
Very good for the service and the meal.
Too bad, the staff is nice and courteous but the service was extremely slow. The quality of the meal was rather disappointing, dry chicken and too salty side dish.
Great service in the afternoon, super nice and friendly lady Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
Excellent dishes, very good service!
We were a large group for my retirement and everything was good and the waiter A+ he was very nice and no error in the service really I will go back. Thank you for this beautiful evening.
Excellent meal & service.
We loved it
We went to eat last week for the first time at this restaurant and there were posters for the New Years Eve dinner. As the dinner was excellent we reserved a 5-course dinner. We were served by Francis, very professional, fast and kind. The meal was really good from start to finish and we brought our own wine. $60 for all this was definitely worth it. We recommend this restaurant, everything was fresh, hot, well seasoned and the portions generous. We will definitely return and introduce it to our friends and family. Happy New Year and good luck in 2023
Impeccable service, very warm atmosphere, very good food, quality price, professional staff!
I dont usually like Académie restaurants but we loved this one. Delicious food, the service from our waitress Mélissa was perfect and we had the chance to chat with the owner who was very friendly and available. Long live this branch!
Good French and non-Italian cuisine. The most expensive dish Mosaic land and sea $62 not recommended not good value for money. Although delicious, the cooking requested was not there. Very good starters like fried squid and scallops. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps
I would have given it 2 stars, but because the waitress was nice and professional and my starter was delicious, I gave it 3. The rest was quite disappointing. First of all the prices are exorbitant for what it is and my main meal; salmon tartare . Normally its supposed to be a tartar pink/orange color, not green. I barely took 2 bites I was afraid of getting poisoned and there was no seasoning. In short, serving fresh food and more reasonable prices we might come back. Best wishes.
Pleasant restaurant where you can bring your own wine. Competitive prices. Interesting for groups.
Our experience dates back to January 7, 2023. I had booked before the holidays and I took the 2nd service at 7:30 p.m. and there are 6 of us friends. A friend of mine had seen on the internet that the restaurant closed at 9:00 p.m. so she took the trouble to call in the afternoon to be sure that the restaurant did not close at 9:00 p.m. because our reservation was at 7:30 p.m. so she wanted to be sure that we have time for our meal. The response was that there was no problem as this information on the internet was not updated and considering it was a Saturday evening then there was no problem. We were finishing our main course and a friend of mine decided to open her bottle of wine. The waitress comes near us and tells us that her boss is not very happy to see that my friend has decided to open a bottle while he is closing and that we have to leave soon. She tells us that we can have coffee but no dessert. And it must be taken immediately. I informed him that we had checked the closing time of the restaurant and that the person who answered told us that there was no problem. I have never been served in such a cavalier way so I explain to him that if I had known that we did not have time to eat and have dessert I would not have chosen his restaurant and even less the 2nd services. I will not return to this place
I ordered a spaghetti bolognese. I think there were 10 noodles on my plate. Its the simplest dish on the menu, I think that for the price you could deserve a fuller plate. A little strange finishing your plate when the others have a few bites of catch in theirs.
Excellent table at a very good price
With 7:30 pm reservations, we still had to wait a bit and it looked like peak hour. The table next to us was very loud and spent an inordinate amount of time swearing. Otherwise, the food and service were exceptional. Had the fettuccine with filet mignon and mushroom sauce on the table dhôte. A bit pricy but both excellent and generous.
Yesterday we went to eat at this establishment. It promised to be very good but was a big disappointment. Terrible service, overcooked meats, catastrophic dessert, dark place, no background music, etc........ very disappointing!!!!!! Not to mention the butler who is indifferent towards his customers. I dont recommend.
Good food but not enough time to eat in a group. The staff seemed constantly on edge, probably due to the striking pressure of the manager or owner who constantly checked the contents of our plate in order to get rid of it and CLEAR it to make room for other customers... money money without letting customers RELAX A LITTLE during a party. Our waitress, with whom it was agreed upon our arrival that a cake for the birthday girl would be served at the end of the meal, bluntly informed us that there would be none, due to lack of time So,More time neither for desserts nor for coffee, without prior notice. Our entire group was then under the same pressure as the employees with the said manager/owner dictating HIS ORDERS so that we cleared the floor. I have never seen this!!! Parking: Very difficult to access for people with reduced mobility since parking is only located very far to the rear of the restaurant and this, with no access to the restaurant from the rear. In addition, no parking space is reserved for them. A ramp has been built in front of the restaurant but no drop-off point on the property and no snow removal on the street. Not easy in the snow with a wheelchair or a cane. Everything was perfect until they kicked us out at 10:00 p.m. All lights to maximum.
Half of the order was wrong, after 1h30 of waiting its disappointing. In addition, the server we had never admitted his mistake and gave us cold dishes or dishes that were not cooked. Afterwards, the waiter served us water without putting any on the ground. My experience at L Académie de Laval was 100 times better and worth the trip to get there if you ask me.
Delicious. Generous. Nice place. Good service! A little slow but tastes worth the wait!
Very nice place, warm decor and excellent food. We were there as a family and everyone loved it. We will return there, for sure.
Varieties and tastes are available. The team is warm and smiling.
Very good food and very friendly staff
Impress with great service
Very good Italian/French restaurant with tasty dishes. Quite competitive price and the fact that it is a BYOB contributes greatly to reducing the bill.
The server was great. The filet mignon is really good but the seafood was too salty. I tried the parmesan fondues, the tortellini with rosé sauce and the fries which were super good and the crème brûlée was delicious. My sister had the beef tartare, BE CAREFUL, if you ask for spicy it is very strong.
Very disappointed. The overcooked duck very hard. Penine sausage simply peperoni I was expecting pieces of Italian sausage not peperoni. By the way the soup was very good. The waiter was very nice.
Really welcoming restaurant! The food from starter to dessert is varied and delicious every visit! A very high quality bring your own wine restaurant! The owners and waitresses are friendly, I highly recommend this restaurant!
Wow 5/5 Very good service, very good food, impeccable welcome I made the wrong date for the reservation, but they still found us a table!!! A big thank you again
Expensive, noisy, good food, nice service!
The lasagna was hot on the edges but cold in the center...
Sunday kids under 12 y for free
under the pretext of the war in Ukraine everyone took advantage of it even the academy succumbed by increasing its prices, today eating in a restaurant where you bring your wine is as expensive as in a restaurant which supplies the wine, your prices for we are too high and unjustified, we will not come back, $20 for a starter of squid, $28 for mussels plus tax plus service I just spent 36 for mussels?? calm down ,.
This restaurant exceeded my expectations. Superb presentation!
May 25, 2023 - decent service, pasta not spicy enough for my taste, I asked for spicy olive oil and the waitress told me it cost $1.50 for olive oil! Inconceivable in my opinion. The crème brûlée is too vanilla and the canollie is so dry! I ate at the Académie in Laval and St-Eustache and everything was far better! For me it s over for this restaurant!
The only thing that irritated me was being told that on my $150 gift card and paid $150, I could only benefit from 50 and therefore the card could be used 3 times. Naturally, I challenged the situation and everything was resolved quickly, but I found this way of doing things somewhat dishonest. For the rest, everything was perfect Jean Laurin
Despite reservations, upon entering we are told that the kitchen will close soon, so surprise...this was less relaxing....
Excellent service! The gourmet poutine was excellent
Too expensive
I loved my experience at the academy, excellent food, exceptional service and very affordable price! I had the table d hôte with the flank steak and the cooking was perfect! I will go back without hesitation!!!
Disappointed with our experience. Overcooked Veal Escalope. The waitress told us that it was impossible to order a starter as a main course... unless the first starter and the second cost around $20 each! Bread on request only... I think we can get better value for money elsewhere!
3 people from our group of 6 changed their meal choices after the waiter confirmed to them that the crab on the menu was indeed crab and not pollock, being from Gaspé they chose for crab. But disappointingly you dont have any crab and this was reconfirmed by the waiter after the plates were served. After criticizing our dissatisfaction you offered dessert for free...which we refused. SORRY for us it was our last visit to. Customer satisfaction does not count at this restaurant!
Even so, adequate service, the meals are correct. Not in my top choice of restaurant, but there is something for everyone. These are good portions. Parking: Parking at the rear.
Very expensive compared to the city of Anjou
Slow. Exspensive
I loved my evening at the academy. Everything was perfect from starter to dessert. We were a group of 20,
The excellent service our server Francis gave us good advice I advise you to try this restaurant 222 cure labelleste Thérèse bring your wine Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free menu Parking: Large parking lot Kid-friendliness: Childrens menu
Condescending waiter and slow service and who, in addition, openly criticizes the tip given...he forgot that the tip is earned and depends on the service. It was the first and last time for us.
Excellent food and impeccable service. Special thanks to our waitress Lori :)
When leaving we mentioned how our steaks were not cooked to our liking, the response was we are an Italian restaurant implying that steaks are not their specialty. When making a reservation my husband mentioned it was my 40th birthday (and a special request)without anyone saying a Happy Birthday, when leaving we asked why is there a comment section if you re not even going to read it and accommodate the requests the response was you should mention it to your server(what if you were trying to make a surprise?). There are other complaints but i would be writing a novel. The plus side of it is, it s bring your own wine and our server was nice enough.
Great experience! The service is also very good :) I had a bad experience at another restaurant in the chain...but this one surprised me. I recommend.
Exceptional culinary experience at L Académie in Sainte-Thérèse My recent visit to LAcadémie restaurant in Sainte-Thérèse was an exceptional culinary experience. The refined flavors, welcoming ambiance and impeccable service convinced me to give it 5 out of 5 stars. The menu offers a variety of mouth-watering dishes, from classics to more original creations. I was impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the careful presentation of the dishes. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and conducive to a memorable experience. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive and willing to offer recommendations for food choices. However, booking in advance is recommended as the restaurant can be popular and the wait may be longer during peak times. In short, if you are looking for a refined culinary experience in a friendly setting, LAcadémie à Sainte-Thérèse is a remarkable choice. I without hesitation give it 5 stars for the exceptional flavors, the welcoming atmosphere and the impeccable service.
The waiter never came to ask us if our dishes were to our liking. But on the other hand, regular customers are entitled to a more personalized service! Plus, the bread wasnt even hot, barely warm! Parking: Parking behind the restaurant
Lack of staff....too bad
Thanks to the Server for his excellent service and to the manager! Good job and I recommend to everyone
Very expensive price, $28 for molds is becoming ridiculous. There is extra for spicy oil. Everything is paid
Great service with Francis
Good food, reasonable value for money!
Tuesday evening, a few people already seated, the only waiter (Francis) there welcomes us with his suggestions of the day. So far everything is ok. We order, my partner a beef tartare, my daughter chicken Penne, my teenager a filet mignon poutine and I my eternal primavera pasta dish with double portion of extra vegetables. After the 2 Burrattas as a shared starter (succulent), the dishes arrive, I already have a smell going up to my nose, we start to eat, around mid-meal, I watch my son pick at his plate and say to myself, I I would like you to taste my meat... I swear to you! Even having been a chef in famous kitchens, NEVER have I eaten something so disgusting, the meat was expired in an advanced phase of decomposition, I immediately stopped my family from eating and I scrutinized the 3 remaining dishes. I didnt detect anything but it took away our appetite. Francis comes back to follow up and I mention my sons dish to him, without any questioning or surprise, took the dish and goes to the kitchen, he comes back to offer us 4 desserts and my teenagers meal, which we refuse. I liked the Laval academy, I tried the Sainte-Thérèse one for the first time. Unfortunately I will never return to this place.
Excellent dishes and attentive service from server Francis
I expected a better restaurant. The food was ordinary. In addition, I saw the host pushing his waitresses to swarm the customers who had finished leaving. And if you buy Costco gift cards. A lot of times he takes them and other times he doesnt. (What the waitress told us)
$18 for an escargot starter $35 for an escalope and spag meal plus $4 for coffee, a beautiful thief never could
The food and service was excellent! We had a great time and had a blast!
Very nice restaurant with fast service and the waiter was friendly and very efficient even though the restaurant was full. Very good food in large quantities and as a bonus it is bring your own wine.
Worst of all the Academy restaurants. Service that leaves something to be desired. When ordering, we were told that 3 of the dishes (out of 4) that we wanted were no longer on the menu. We are recommended NOT to have the tartare because the cooks simply dont have it.. 2 of the starters were not ordered and/or brought at the same time as the others. Super dark bench. Decent dishes but nothing more. Culinary and general experience definitely not worth the price. I do not recommend
Honestly I expected way more. It was run of the mill. Nothing wrong, but nothing to tell others about.
Absolutely excellent, just lacked a bit of atmosphere.
Very satisfied with the service with Melissa and very beautiful plates with excellent food
Such a beautiful evening, I loved everything. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
I had dinner at this place last week, I ordered a Coquille St-Jacques with rice and vegetables, I asked if the portion was generous and I was told that it was and that the dish was very popular... I ask for bread, unlike other restaurants at LAcadémie, they serve me two small, unappetizing brioches, the bread in other places is incredible! The soup served too thick and floury and heavy The plate arrives, nice portion, the rice is too hard, the vegetables with garlic so so but the main dish is ultimately a potato gratin because I have encountered a single shrimp and 5 mushrooms! Despite the compassion of the waitress who had nothing to do with it, I will never return to this place for $30 in a vacuum for dinner....avoid it!
A lunchtime with girls! Not many people in the restaurant very unfriendly waitress but very nice restaurant food quality very good price
Disappointment on top of disappointment in addition to the questionable ethics of the server. Correct welcome. Very beautiful decor. When we arrived we were informed that we should have left within 2 hours. OK, no problem. We are used to another Academie branch in Montreal. I order a starter as well as the shell in starter format since it is not in the main menu. I was informed that I would then be charged $5 more. When I question. Finally, no additional $5 since I eat more than $20. Considering my partner had a $45 plate.... anyway. We receive our soups. No bread. Inflation I guess or bad service? We receive our plates, parmesan is kraft?!? Am I at La Belle pro? Even at home I have real parmesan... my partners veal is actually cows cheese. My whole shell is overcooked and the plates are hot, meaning they have been left on the stove for a long time. The couple behind us is an elderly couple when paying the server allows themselves to make a comment on the tip that the couple was going to leave saying that below 15% they were working at a loss and allowed themselves to make the transaction on the machine for them. This is false, for having worked in catering for a long time it is 8% which is declared and the majority of customers, especially in this type of catering, leave above 20% we do not tell them that it is too much so if you is not ready to take responsibility for bad tips and for having been served by the same server it is the worst service I have had in forever and in Quebec the why is still Optional so if the couple wanted to leave you 5% remove your fingers from the machine. If I were the owner of the restaurant I would really ask myself how I want my servers to be on the ethical side because this has deeply disturbed us and it is clear that we will spread the word. My only regret is not having kept my invoice to have the name of the server.
The worst of all the Academy visited!! The veal for me is a cow full of fatigue Very muddy as a plate We were charged $5 more because my wife had 2 starters which were not any more satisfactory Now lets talk about our server Not very cordial, we didnt take the time to know his name because we were in shock to have such service. He seemed to serve the room at the front of the restaurant. Mr. 40 years old, not a hair on his head!!! (Shame on you) From the start and despite a reservation he was quick to tell us that we had to act quickly None but no presence at the table to such an extent that I had the impression of being in a fast food restaurant We were terribly outraged when the waiter forced the elderly couple behind us to give a good tip, even pushing them to apply their tip themselves on the interactive machine. Never in 8 years with my wife have we had such an experience and never even for free will we return to this place What a disappointment!!!!!!
Delicious!! Impeccable service from Francois. A little dark in the restaurant but it deserves a 5 star!!
Too expensive
Nice atmosphere, good food, not crazy but ok, a few mistakes here and there, but nothing more. On the other hand, the waitress at lunch seems to really not want to be there.
They sell gift certificates. Yay!!!
If you really want to eat at the Academy, Laval is the place to go. Unfortunately for us, it was the one and only time in Ste-Thérèse. Mediocre from start to finish, not worthy of a LAcadémie restaurant. The host who welcomes without greeting, takes his menu and leaves without asking to follow him loll During the meal, plate of not fresh salmon tartare (seaside taste), crouton with a strange taste, rubbery flank steak, charred and drowned in its wine sauce and Im not talking about the service... indescribable and really disappointing. We are asked if it was to our taste and we tell him of our disappointment...well I would have had more reception by talking to a wall. What about being looked at while composing the tip and being told: Im working for my pocket No joke, I was speechless! We love buying local but this...its beyond belief. If you have gift cards, dont go as a couple but as a friend...no more than a gift card for a couple, first time I see that. Be advised.
I went there for my office party and I dont think Ill go back. There were 8 of us and there was very mixed satisfaction with the dishes. I had the mussels marinière. They were good but I was disappointed by the fries that came with them. It was the frozen fried style that you find at the local pizzeria. The service was good, nothing more. The toilets were dirty and smelly. At 10:40 a.m. (closing time 10:30 a.m.) they turned on all the lights and stopped the music....it was unpleasant but also disappointing considering it was Saturday and the holiday festivities period is starting (we would expect a little more flexibility?). Furthermore, I learned that at this branch, they are not culinary students, unlike others like Laval (as the name LAcadémie suggests). In short, a 2 star for this somewhat expensive place for a very ordinary experience. The only positive point: bring your own wine.
I didnt like the welcome, the service and the food. It was a disaster and yet I loved the one in Laval.
Christmas dinner on December 9 (11 people) very bad service and what can we say about the food that is simply not EATABLE, the worst restaurant in the academy. TO AVOID
Decent meal...I expected better
Very slow service. We had to ask for water!!!!! If you dont want a main meal you have to take TWO starters so two people in our group get it. On the other hand, the onion soup was excellent. Very disappointed!
The taste of my meal was pretty ordinary.
A little too expensive for pasta.
The owner has no personality and is very rude. That is why I give 2 stars...Its too bad because the service by Francis was excellent and the food was great.
Impeccable service, excellent food.
I have rarely seen squid failed to this extent.
good food
Beautiful restaurant, nice atmosphere. Table d hôte lunch menu at $24 offers 5 good choices. Otherwise varied choices on the menu. Generous plate. Courteous service. Personally I chose the penne with pesto and cream. Really good.
We were in a hurry to place the order, server error in the orders asked to be paid on arrival of the dessert, no professionalism Really sad
Long service, excellent pasta, other dishes (meat) accompaniments without wow factor...
Excellent service, we love Francis! James the owner is extremely warm! Well done gang!
Very good experience on Saturday November 19th. Good portion, taste and impeccable service from Mélissa! We will return there on December 31st
The cheese on my onion soup was almost burnt and the small starter of escargot with garlic at $16 was not worth it. The pasta carbonara was very good, however the manager is quite stupid. We criticized the escargots, telling him it was expensive for what it was and he immediately got defensive. He also kicked us out at closing without being tactful. Courtesy is rare, its a shame. At least we could bring our own wine.
Perfect evening and successful office party! Thank you to all the Academy team for taking care of all the little details. Your attention to our needs was so appreciated. Your Menu and the quality of your meals have more to the whole Group. Well done and this address will definitely be our new favorite. Thanks again to all of you. Travel Club Evasion
Unstable chair, absent service and very ordinary food. Really better at home.
Seafood fettuccine in their table dhôte. Wow. Wow. I recommend it. We went there on a Friday evening around 6am.
Far too expensive for the quality and poor service
The good ones; The waitress was a gem. The food there was very good and plentiful. The minuses; it s expensive! I understand inflation but ayoye! Speaking of money, this L Académie restaurant does NOT accept chain gift cards purchased at Costco. A war between the franchisee and the parent company from what I understand. This contravenes the Consumer Protection Office, you have been warned!
Unfortunately that s a big NO for me. Im not going back, we arrive there at 7:20 p.m. and our reservation has been made for 1 week for 7:30 p.m. We wait until 10 minutes, which is understandable, because there were 10 minutes left before our time. The problem is that we were made to enter at 7:50 p.m., even though our lives were frozen at the entrance and our large group was compacted into the small space. Just to have bread on the table it took 1h30 and several requests, the same for the pots of ice cream, in order to put the wine. Food that costs a fortune arrives 2 hours later and no one is satisfied with their meal. Its not good and one person had a steak that was not cooked at all! We kindly ask again if it is possible to get a new one and the owner replies that the only thing he can do for us is heat it in the microwave (even though it is 0 cooked) this person does not couldnt even eat his dinner and still had to pay for it. As for me, I just asked an older waitress whose name starts with an L to give me the right plate, because I had ordered with fries and she had given me with sweet potatoes which belonged to someone others on the table and she shouted very stupidly I KNOW WHAT IS YOUR STORY ABOUT FRIES. The only positive point was that our main waitress was really nice and attentive. In short, personally I do not recommend the place
Excellent service and food! We were a group of 6 people, we all loved our dishes. Very pleasant atmosphere and decor. I highly recommend.
Excellent restaurant! Excellent SERVICE and above all, excellent food!
