DONT EAT HERE. The bagels are VERY salty and $16+ for ONE Lox Bagel is by far the most expensive in the area, but I stopped in anyway because its on my way to work. After waiting at the bench right in front of the register for 20 minutes I went up to ask about my bagel and I see its just been sitting there for who knows how long. I point at it, and the guy just hands it to me with a word or an apology. Its always rude staff but this is what finally does it, I cant deal with Wise Sons BS anymore.

Best Reuben sandwich in the city, and it better be for the price tag. Cozy lunch spot where there always tends to be at least one table available.

Bagel spread is lacking. They really skimp ok this. I ve gotten the salmon bagel and got a singular slice of salmon, hardly any cream cheese and an overwhelming amount of red onion and capers that just roll off and make a mess. All the tables were dirty. Wait was long. Just wasn t worth it.

Ok, as a transplanted Brooklynite that has lived in the Bay Area for over 20 years now, Wise & Sons is the ONLY authentic Jewish deli San Francisco has imho. Moishes Pippic (in Hayes Valley which is now gone since it permanently closed) was the other one. Mortys in the TL was pretty good too, I guess its still around.

Wonderful pastrami Reuben

Absolutely best egg bagels I ve ever had, the chili oil arugula and fluffy egg combination on an everything bagel is our go to order on the weekends. Must have gotten it a dozen times already!

I had the pleasure of working with Chantell from Wise Sons Bagels to organize bagel breakfasts for 3 large onsite events. The experience was fantastic from start to finish. Chantell curated a delicious menu that included options for all dietary needs, ensured timely delivery, and assisted with the setup, making the entire process seamless. She was absolutely wonderful to work with and was extremely responsive and helpful! Everyone loved Wise Sons bagels! It was a delight to introduce our team to this local favorite. I can t thank Chantell and the Wise Sons team enough the bagels and service were truly outstanding. Dietary restrictions: They were able to meet vegan, gluten free, nut free, cucumber allergy, and many more!

Cheap mentality. They mistook me for a delivery driver and didn t allow me to use their washroom. I clarified I m a customer. But even then that didn t make sense. Why would a delivery person who is picking up a customer s food not be allowed to use their washroom? Keep up this cheap mentality and you ll lose more businesses just like you had to close down your other location

Good deli. Smoked salmon on a bialy fire. Knish is seasonal so u gotta get lucky for em. Ruggies also pretty fire.

I ordered a toasted bagel w cream cheese to go, and waited for 15 minutes. I eventually went up again to ask when it would be ready, and it was there the whole time (they didn t call my name). The bagel wasn t very good.

Eating here makes me nostalgic for my childhood when food like this was made aplenty. The best latkes hands down... the restaurant is brilliant in its decorated simplicity. It feels like home from days long past.

Excellent food, but the way the restaurant operates is not intuitive. Service once we ordered was good. Not anything near a great atmosphere though. Dine-in is definitely second to take-out. Also definitely lacking warmth for a dine-in experience.

Awesome Jewish bakery serving different baked goods and breakfast items. Really liked the rugelach and the latkes. Unfortunately the person preparing my salad missed an ingredient (forgot the cucumbers), otherwise an awesome meal.

Pastrami Burger is delicious! Quite possibly the best burger I ve ever tasted! Matzah ball soup is pretty good too. Quick, friendly service and good value for money comfort food.

It s actually really hard to find a good bagel in SF. This is definitely a top tier option, though it does pain me to spend $18 on a bagel. I personally have no fresh baked options in Daly City (as far as I ve seen) so I didn t mind driving 13 minutes to Wise Sons to give them a try. I always order a poppy seed, chive cream cheese and lox bagel. Bagel was pretty big and the perfect combination of chewy/crunchy. Perfect amount of lox, I don t like when delis take five slices stuck together and mash it on the bagel, Wise Sons lightly layered it. Chive cream cheese was fresh. Also they only have drip coffee but it tasted pretty high quality. If you want an espresso drink, Haus Coffee two blocks away is incredible.

Expensive, not authentic

I paid over $5 for a tiny bagel with plain cream cheese that was so hard to chew it was disgusting. I don t get the appeal.

I don t like to be negative, but this is not the bialy I was hoping for. I m familiar with the NY style bialy that is thin and chewy with a nice depressed center filled with a bit of onion or other topping. This bialy is very bread forward and is more like a ciabatta bun with a bit of onion on top. I haven t found a great bialy in SF yet, but a good one can be found at Arizmendi bakery near GG park. Sadly this bialy ended up in the nearest compost bin which was two bites away. Unfortunately, this is my second attempt at a bialy with the same result. I tried the ferry building farmers market pop-up location years ago with a similar result. I guess I forgot over the years. If you want a dense ciabatta roll for breakfast then this may be a good option for you. If you want a NY style bialy then look elsewhere.

Using good ingredients, natural Beef Pastrami with complex spicing layered between real Jewish Rye just $15.50 with a Kosher Pickle, guests are also encouraged to order Matzo Ball Soup with a big Dumpling floating in Broth laced with Dill. No Babka on this morning, all of it committed to pre-orders, 72% Bittersweet Guittard Chocolate instead finds itself suspended in Cookies with flakes of Salt while Rugelach for $2 a bite is fairly basic considering the rest. Not forgetting a Bagel, well made with a good skin and plenty of chew, Cream Cheese comes complimentary just as good Butter, real Maple Syrup and Jam do with Challah French Toast cooked golden but still custardy in the middle.

Really great bagels and food. We had the schnitzel sandwich and one of the breakfast sandwiches. Schnitzel was made to perfection and all of the ingredients tasted great and high quality. 10/10 would recommend and will return again soon

Was visiting a friend in SF and she lives only a block away so I decided to pick up breakfast for us one morning. The staff was super helpful and kind and helped me by recommending the club sandwich! They were quick and the sandwich was so good! If I lived in SF I would definitely be a regular.

Best spot I ve food for bagels so far

A stand out restaurant unique in the Mission District, admirable because of their handcrafted foods made from scratch using traditional recipes. Fresh bagels, house made pastrami and more.

Bagels were ok but the scallion cream cheese was really good. The matzo balls weren t my favorite but that could just be me.

Wonderfull place

I always pass this establishment periodically. So today, I made time to investigate. Interesting interior. Cordial & patient staff. Staff helped me decide on what to get. I ordered a Reuben sandwich with pastrami. I was sticker shocked to pay $17 for this sandwich! However, when I got home, I started to have my sandwich. To my surprise, it was worth every penny! It was quite palatable and delicious! It had a lot of tasty pastrami, cheese and other ingredients I really enjoyed it slowly to savor everything! Today, I now realized why there are many patrons inside and outside of this place. Yum.

Order online and pick up seamlessly. I always get the Lox and a coffee before work - I tend to miss the morning rush after 10.

Good bagels but significantly overpriced for a basic bagel with cream cheese.

Very pricey and the pastrami was a bit too fatty for my tastes.

I went to wise sons four years ago at this location and ordered the liver toast and mimosa. It was excellent. I then ordered takeout for my family, including the latkas with lox, French toast, and pastrami sandwich. All incredible and very very fresh. All very authentic to Jewish cooking as well. I had not returned to Wise Sons until now, after the pandemic, and things have changed. The latkas are now mashed potato griddle cakes that were almost deep fried, instead of shaved potato latkas, which is the traditional way of making them. They are therefore overfried and lacking in flavor or heft. This was the most disappointing change. The liver toast plate came on wilted greens and looked thrown together. It wasn t as delicious as I recall prepandemic. The matza ball soup was fine, if unremarkable. The burger was good, but this isn t really Jewish food- just tasty American food. Overall, the food had lost some of its authenticity and flavor. Jewish food is flavorful, filling, and very very tasty, with lots of robust seasoning from onion and garlic. I hope Wise Sons will review its recipes, and go back to the traditional way of making latkas. Those were spectacular.

I love food from wise son, but trying luch and breakfast in this location and MUSIC is anoying!!!!! , imposible to enjoy sacred food time!!! Please someone do something .

Great bagels

Neighbors staple!! Some of the best bagels and lox in town.

A very nice deli at the corner of the neighborhood, only less than 15 mins away from downtown. Was in a rush, so directly asked for the most classic sandwich , they recommend The Reubens - OG, which is the meat (I choose Pastrami) with Russian dressing, swiss, and sauerkraut. OMG, its so simple, but its SO GOOD, pastrami was well seasoned and grilled, the sauerkraut offers the sour and freshness to go with bread and meat, everything was just on point.

We ordered from them a few times, and always enjoyed the food, and the professional, accurate heating instructions attached. I also want to mention the staff is always extremely friendly, and recently went out of their way to help me out due to a misunderstanding on my part. I think a business is measured also by the service they provide, and want to commend wise sons for theirs.

Alex was extremely helpful fulfilling my order when the card readers went down. Wise has a great selection of bagels and sandwiches and is my goto bagel shop when Im in San Francisco.

I got the combo 1/2 sandwich and chicken soup with matzo ball with a side of potato salad. First off, their pastrami is fantastic. The rye bread tastes like real rye bread. The potato salad was great. The included pickles are the quick pickle kind youll find in a stainless cup table-side in NYC. The side of horseradish I ordered was tasty. Yum for all of that. And heres the thing I dont get. The chicken soup was so meh it went straight into the compost bin. How do you mess up chicken soup at a Jewish deli? Regardless of the chicken bits, egg noodles, matzo ball and some veg... it starts with the broth. Swing and a miss. Someones grandmother would give it the stink eye.

Extremely JUST ok food, this place is like that toxic person you hook up after forgetting about how bad it was, instant regret. I ve tried 3 times and the corn beef hash will be the last. The flavor was nothing like corn beef hash and consumed of soggy onions and potatoes. For $18 you can keep it, and maybe learn how to make corn beef hash like people on the east coast smh

Very expensive for the quality. Everything seasons is way too salty. Bagels are tiny and dense- not fluffy at all. Rugelach was $2.30 for one single piece? $3 for a cookie? $5 for a bagel with cream cheese? Just crazy

Ignored instructions not to to toast my bagel. Since it was a bagel with toppings, that meant it was covered in nasty burnt bits. Maybe youll have better luck getting them to listen to simple requests ordering in person.

Solid pastrami, bagels are actually so so but made fresh. Great noodle kugel and babka! Service can be SUPER slow especially with those ipads they put in the front recently... I only wanted 2 cinnamon bagels to-go; why make me go through a hundred keystrokes for it?? Good g-d!!

This place has serious customer service issues from the moment you leave two young women managing the register and behaving like grounded teenagers who much rather be doing other things . On top of that the food was pretty disappointing and is not a cheap place by any means , just another restaurant in San Francisco leaving off their reputation and not caring anymore.

One of the worst experiences I have had with care, I was greeted by a short stature blond employee with green eyes. the guy was so rude, so rude, that my boyfriend and I couldnt swim and when we went to complain to another girl who seemed to be the manager she said we had other restaurants in town that we could go to. Its unbelievable!

The Lox bagel was delicious, no doubt. What soured the experience was charging for an iced tea refill. You may have had the extra income from that one visit, but you lost a returning customer.

This place customers selection is really there. If you are not the type of customer that will like to have, they will ask you for vaccination ID to eat inside, and they will be rude. Also, they will sale the food to you as if they were doing you a big favor. Perhaps are the owner son. Long curly puffy hair.

something I notice about this specific wise sons in that if you order take out your sandwich is always sloppy, and they skimp on the toppings. I got a classic salmon bagel and it was 90% capers. but if you order to stay the food is much better. they need to fix this cause I don t have time to stay every time just to get the meal I paid for.

Came here looking for a vegan bagel with vegan cream cheese and was so happy with the offerings here. I got the poppyseed bagel with vegan sunflower cream cheese and it was absolutely delicious! According to their website all bagels are vegan so will definitely be coming back for more. This location makes the best bagel in my opinion and love that s it s in the heart of Mission too

Outstanding deli with great breakfast items like pastrami and eggs. They have a great chopped liver plate as well. All ruebens (corned beef and pastrami) are great!

Delicious food, generous portions, great staff, inviting atmosphere. Couldnt ask for better.

Finally, last Saturday, I could have my lunch in this spot: a place without complications, or pretensions, with a simple menu full of flavor and friendly staff. The place is clean and full of natural light; the moment you enter, the smell of the food transports you to a happy place in your mind, and you will want everything on the menu. Because I had no more stomach, I only had the popeye (eggs, roasted mushrooms, spinach, and melted cheese served on a toasted sesame bagel). I am looking forward to coming back to try everything on their menu!

This deli pride itself on a long history of Jewish delicatessens and I found that the turkey club sandwich was a disgrace. The pictures show a nice portion of meat on the sandwiches but when I got my turkey club it had maybe two slices of turkey on it and I have a photo to show for that. So what the sandwiches between 15 and $20? What a joke. . This is pretty infuriating considering that your burger is absolutely phenomenal and other things that you make a really delicious. Is it because it s takeout and you can t send it back once it arrives at your house? Is there supply issue with turkey meat? This review will probably go into some vacuous hole of nothingness so you will not change your ways. But being someone who lived in Manhattan for seven years this turkey club was a joke and a slap in the face to the New York delicatessens that make this food so incredible and generous.

Ive never had a bagel in NYC, but Id expect it to be close to the ones you get at Wise Sons. Chewy with a slight crunch. Tangy cream cheese in just the right amount. Hot coffee. Friendly counter service. Recommended.

Whenever I am in the mission, I have to make a stop at this deli. Some of the best bagel sandwiches in the city last week I went in and got the lox bagel and it was amazing. If you are driving 24th St. can be challenging to find parking so plan ahead.

This place is not kosher by any means. Not sure what Jewish is about it except bagels. Update: I understand you didn t claim to be kosher, but you hang on the walls quotes of Rabbis and then served me cheese and meat in one wrap. Like. What s next - pork sandwich?

The ingredients are excellent. My bagel was cold when it came to my table. The service was unnecessarily spiky. The music was fun, but too loud.

The beef brisket Passover Seder meal was fantastic!! Quite warm still when I picked it up, perfect. It is a blessing to get such a wonderful meal during Passover, and you are a mensch. :) Price was quite reasonable also. Thank you.

I visited this place with my friend at his recommendation. I had the mixed fries (which is not what theyre called on the menu -- this is what being a lazy not-so-local-guide looks like) and a latke. Lets get this out of the way immediately: a knish is not a latke. A latke is not a knish. I got a latke thinking I got a knish. Then I got a latke with sour cream -- and whats more, it had apple sauce on it. I was shaken to my core -- disturbed!!! HOW COULD ANYONE DO THIS? I WAS SO YOUNG, SO NAIVE!!! Anyways, the latke was really good. I got the fries thinking it would be similar to the Gyro and feta fries from Nick the Greeks. I dont want to push Wise Sons out of the spotlight here but, Nicks fries are -- chefs kiss -- theyre very good. The latke was less good because I was kind of full from the mixed fries. I have a personal beef with sliced American Cheese. It doesnt look appetizing to me -- just my personal preference, please dont mention other cheeses appearance, I DONT CARE! Definitely try Wise Sons -- definitely dont pay for your friend AND tip unless youre willing to pay an arm and leg or start a Rumpelstiltskin payment plan.

Portions were small, but superbly paired . Only real downside of our meals was the pickle . Never had a bland pickle before. Real salty but no flavour. Could use a few more days in the brine also....

One of the best options for eating Bagels in the city. Very nice atmosphere, excellent service and very delicious bagel options and the like. I come about 3x a week to have breakfast.

The mushroom rueben is absolutely fire . One of my favorite lunch meals to get in the city.

I absolutely love the Black House BBQ burger on the Specials menu. Try the Patty Melt (Ground Pastrami Burger) with a fried egg. Boylans black cherry soda is the best.

I ordered a Club Sandwich. It was good and tasty but dont expect it to be as big as a traditional club in size. Well made and clean. The restaurant offers dine-in, outside dining, and take out. The menu offers many choices.

Theres pastrami sandwiches...and then theres the sacred and holy experience that is the pastrami sandwiches from Wise Sons. I can never be satisfied with anything less.

Food was dry nasty

Was so excited to finally try this place (as I love pastrami sandwiches) and was shocked at how lackluster it was. I ordered just a basic pastrami sandwich which is just meat and bread and starts at 12.95$ and I added on cheese and some mayo mustard which made it about a 16$ sandwich. I m thinking this thing must be huge right? Like a bunch of meat on a big roll or something. Nope! It s just some meat between two dinky little slices of thinly cut bread, and the cheese wasn t even melted! So in order to get a traditional sandwich with veggies and all that it would come to about 20 bucks and it would still be really small, also the bread itself was just very basic and not very toasted. The pastrami itself is good but I wouldn t go there and spend that much money for a tiny little underwhelming sandwich. If your gonna charge that much for meat bread and cheese it s gotta be out of this world.

I just ordered a bagel and was disappointed when it was cold, hard, and dry. Not sure what s going on at Wise Sons these days since the bagels used to be served fresh. Maybe they just had some old ones they had to get rid of, but I d except much more for a $10 bagel.

That was a very unsatisfying 16$ reuben sandwich.....so small, so expensive..avoid this place if you are at all hungry.

One of the best Jewish delis in SF with a pretty large menu. The food is quite good here but can take a bit longer to get to the table but that s just because they get a lot of pick up orders. We got the breakfast burrito with salsa, bagel and cream cheese, and potato latkes. The latkes were extremely crispy and paired perfectly with the sour cream and apple sauce. I wish the bagel was a more toasted but it was really good.

Everything for breakfast seems to be not cooked quite right. French toast was soggy in the center. Eggs were sitting in a bath of uncooked eggs
