Super tasty food and they have such a variety of options for breakfast! I love that they offer non pork options for breakfast meats, many places don t and it s so frustrating to go out for breakfast for me and my partner who doesn t eat pork, so sunset is our go to! Very good food, good portions and the waitresses and staff are so kind! Dietary restrictions: They have veg options as well as options for people who don t eat pork on their breakfast menu, and even salmon as an option for those who eat halal

We went to Sunset Grill Sarnia for family day lunch and everything was excellent. The following are comments from my sons who insisted on leaving a review. This review is from my 9 yr old son: The food was godly! And the service was nice! This review is from my 10yr old son: There was a ton of food for a great price. The food was excellent!

Usually have breakfast from Sunset Grill in Toronto, but after I tried from this location, I ll likely never go again.

Pancake Legends of Sarnia Big, fluffy, filled with Blueberries and Chocolate chips, crispy crust, nice and hot. Overall yum nyum. I went in there to have three pancakes but ended up eating Five pancakes. It is soooo good that you want more, always more. Thank you Sunset Grill.

I usually enjoy my breakfast at Sunset Grill, in Toronto. However, this Sarnia location has changed my perception of the restaurant drastically. I was visiting family in Sarnia and suggested we eatat this Sunset Grill location on Sun April 30th at 11:45AM. I called ahead of time and asked how we can accomodate for 22 people (5 families). The waiter nicely explained that it cant be booked in advance, however, theyre not that busy so they should be able to seat us separately as we arrive (and with different waiters). I agreed that this would work for us and informed my party to head to the location. Upon arrival there were many empty tables. I, being first in line, began to tell the waitress that we had 22 peopl to dine-in. The waitress (waitress #1) explained that we wouldnt be seated together and would not have the same waiters. I told her that was okay (since we had called in advanced and this was explained previously). She seemed to get flustered and instead of proceeding to seat our families, she called her colleague (waitress #2). Waitress #2 tried to explain the same thing to me, again.. we cant seat you all on the same table, you cant have the same waiter and the food may come at different times... I said thats fine please go ahead and seat us. As I said this waitresss #1 went ahead and allowed other guests (not in our party) who had just entered, and seated them immediately. I looked around wondering excuse me, couldnt you have started seating our party??? The response was dont worry we will seat you... but that didnt happen! At that point waitress #2 came to me in a very sly manner and said I dont want to push people away but this is just going to be too complicated.. there is another restaurant on London Line that would have space for you all. I couldnt believe my ears! What!?? I didnt want to argue nor did I want to make a scene and cause others discomfort.. so I left with my family. I cant help but wonder why these two waitresses were so reluctant to host our party. Could it have been because of our skin colour? Or religious dress? Perhaps we didnt exactly make them feel comfortable as we didnt look like them. It was utterly shocking and quite frankly disgusting the way they treated us. And for those wondering, no! they didnt blatantly kick us out of the restaurant or say racist slur. However, the unnecessary delay, reluctant looks, and counterintuitive suggestion of going to another restaurant all point to them basically not wanting us there. SUNSET GRILL- this was a disappointing experience and unacceptable treatment. I hope someone deals with this soon and trains the Sarnia staff to catch up to the 21st century. We are not living in 1800s America!

Amazing breakfast location. The staff are friendly and know how to handle a busy weekend rush! I wish they had a gluten-free bread option (maybe someday!).

Unfortunately didn t get a chance to try the food. Walked in this morning, they had a couple of open tables, a few 2 seaters and one 6 seater. There were 3 of us coming in for breakfast and were refused a table and told we needed to wait 15 minutes. I think it s ridiculous we weren t able to be seated to start at the table for 6 as it was not reserved but they wanted to keep it open just in case . Lost business from us from here on out.

Frequent visitor, always enjoying the food. Great selection of breakfast options. Never any complaints. Always get served with a smile. Hot and tasty food comes out quickly.

Have been going here for several years but today was the last. Waitress was rude asking us to leave when I was still enjoying my tea. Said people where waiting at the door when we could clearly see no one was there. More concerned with the turn over of customers then they are with customers enjoying a nice breakfast. If I wanted this treatment I would go to a fastfood restaurant.

We recently decided to celebrate our anniversary by having breakfast at a nice place. We were seated quickly and given coffee. The staff was friendly and hard working at all times. However, after three coffees, we were getting upset at the delay in delivering our food. The staff assured us it would be coming shortly. After almost an hour wait it was finally brought to our table. Our order was simple, eggs, bacon and hash browns. I have never had to wait that long for such a simple order, and this is a place that specializes in breakfast. I certainly will never go back.

Went for lunch today with a group of 10. The host said they didnt have room for 10 available and they wont for 30-45 minutes. Not all of our group was there yet so we told the host we will know in a few minutes on what our decision would be as not all the party was there yet. A few of us that were there went to use the washroom. Then the host comes asking if the people who went to go use the washroom are with them. He said yes and she said the washrooms are for customers only. She made us feel that they didnt want to serve us. So we decided to go to Johns Restaurant down the road and were given such great service and the food is also very good.

I work next door, and when i ordered breakfast i had to just stay at the store because i was the only employee. The one waitress with blonde hair came and dropped it off!! I told her she didn t need to do that, but it was so kind. Foods great, you just have to specify what you want & they ll help you out.

This was our second time here, and both visits were incredibly disappointing. Wait times are very long, staff is rude, food is either burnt or undercooked, and its a breakfast place that doesnt make poached eggs! We have been to numerous Sunset Grills across the province and have never had these issues before. Will not be returning. Ridiculous!!

Absolutely the worst breakfast l have had in Sarnia. There were six of us getting together to catch up. I ordered the vegetarian omelette with an addition of feta cheese. My omelette was way over cooked and tough. The home fries were an unpleasant grayish brown hue, greasy, and barely warm. Even everyone s toast was cold. One of our party ordered waffle with sausage. She was informed when the rest of us were getting our meals that the waffle maker wasn t working and her sausages were brought on a plate, and sat while we ate and she waited for her pancakes. Coffee was decent. None of us finished our meals. So many far better delicious options in Sarnia.,

Just back from our 1st visit to our local Sunset Grill and likely our last ! We were seated promptly and brought coffee and water right away....good ! My wife order a meat lovers poutine which was advertised with hollandaise sauce and chives(which she luvs). Her meal was good ...... hollandaise sauce was good but no chives so not so bad altogether but I ordered blueberry pancakes advertised as light and fluffy ! When I got them they were barely warm and then the butter I was given was FROZEN whipped butter which is one of my pet peeves at any restaurant ! Now that was bad enough but to top it off the pancakes were leathery rather than light and fluffy! When I went to pay and the cashier asked me how things were and I told her all she said was Im so sorry.......no discount offered.....not asked if Id like to speak to the manager.....NOTHING ! As I said, we likely wont be going back anytime soon !

I usually am the kind of person who gets the same thing every time. Which is what I did mostly- the eggs Benedict is great. They always got my order correct and it was freaking delicious. The one or two times I strayed away from that order it was always just as amazing.

Waited 15 minutes to get served... have our server ask what we wanted for drinks and they didnt. A couple walks in after us and they got served. Called to talk to the manager and all i got was oh sorry to hear that. Like they didnt seem to care. I get places are busy at this time of year. The only acknowledgement we got was from the lady who seated us.. after that it was like we were never there. Wont be going back.

How do you think a 3 small egg breakfast is worth 13$ on skip the dishes? Thats an 8$ breakfast.

First time visiting sunset grill strictly based on that they have turkey bacon as an option. We were seated right away, our server Victoria was awesome! She was super helpful with the menu as I wanted a little bit of everything (eggs, home fries, turkey bacon and chocolate chip pancakes lol). Best turkey bacon I ve had and the coffee was really good too! Boyfriend had the smoked salmon plate which was also really good. I ll be back!

Went to try this place for breakfast as we are huge local foodies and love supporting local! When arriving the lady working was standing outside talking to her friend and screamed do you have your vaccine at us, while we were still in the parking lot (which we do, we have had our vaccines for months) this felt off putting and not very professional. When replying yes and going inside we showed her our vaccine passports and she said she couldn t accept them.. they were the vaccine receipts downloaded right off the ministry of health Ontario website and we explained that to her, she wouldn t accept it so as we dug through our emails to find our original receipts she was extremely rude to us and had an attitude the entire time even implying we didn t have our vaccines.. I m super frustrated, we found them in our emails and then she finally accepted them but was SO rude that we didn t even want to sit in the restaurant in front of customers that she just yelled at us in front of. Very upsetting that one bad experience at a restaurant will put a bad taste in your mouth forever. We said we would go somewhere else and the employee said no where will accept that but we went to John s right after, they accepted it and we had a great breakfast! I understand the stress on a restaurant worker having the be on the defence with possible anti-vax people being upset at them for the rules this was NOT the case. We are pro vax and just wanted to try a new local spot. Disappointed to say the least

Not bad but had higher expectations. Service was good and friendly, menu was exciting, but food was so-so. Not much flavour and homefries couldve been cooked a bit longer.

My girlfriend and I were pleasantly greeted at the door, seated immediately and given menus and a drink. We had put our menus down and we re waiting to give our order. In the meantime two more tables were seated and orders were taken from them while we waited to give our order. Waitresses were cleaning tables and visiting with some men, (they knew all their names). We finished our coffee and sat waiting for 15 more minutes with no one taking our order. We got up and left. We will never go there again!

A pleasant surprise on the Sarnia breakfast scene! Varied menu offered with items not found elsewhere in the city. Clean, bright atmosphere, professional staff, high quality food! Only drawback is the lack of doubled entry doors resulting in a rush of cold air when people come and go with the doors opening directly to the outside!!

Sitting here waiting for food and a waitress and cook are fighting in the dinningroom about the temperature. Yelling at each other. This is making for a very uncomfortable environment. They bother now have phones out and the air conditioning is blowing on us making is very cold in here. with the door being opened as well. Our waitress is very nice and apologized for the behaviour of her co workers. How embarrassing for her to have to apologize for others work ethic. Horrible experience today.

I had the 3 egg and sausage breakfast for $10. Came with 4 good sized sausage which were really good. I had sunny side up eggs which were slightly over cooked so didn t have a lot of yolk for dipping my toast. The homefries should be crispier, and with a little more spices as I found them kinda bland.The toast came with jam but I don t think they should serve the jam if you didn t ask for it. Its wasteful as they just throw out afterwards. So I took it home with me. My friend had the classic BLT and he really liked his. The front door needs a vestibule as everytime someone opens the door the cold air sweeps right through the restaurant. Brrrrr. I d come here for breakfast again for sure. Food came fast considering it was very busy. Restaurant is pretty.

Got the sunset breakfast which came with two pancakes, 3 eggs, meat and home fries. Everything was good except the scrambled eggs which were way overcooked. Honestly, even though I enjoyed everything else, if you are a breakfast place and you cant cook eggs right, I dont know what to say. I will say its a nice change to see a restaurant in Sarnia able to make decent pancakes and if I go back it will just be for them. The service was also good and the food was ready fast. The setup isnt ideal because 60 percent of the tables are within gusting range whenever the door is open. If you end up on the right side on a cold day prepare to be annoyed by people just trying to get into the place. The cost is not expensive by any means but also not a great deal.

Weve eaten in this chain in other cities and always enjoyed it so it was a nice surprise to find one in Sarnia. Its tucked into a strip mall in the Walmart shopping centre so its handy. The food is always good. The restaurant has an outdoor patio for fine weather. I had sausage and fried eggs with home fries and toast. My companion had pea meal bacon and eggs with has browns. The breakfasts came just as we asked with lots of good coffee. Our waitress was very friendly and the restaurant has a bright and cheery interior.

First time going! Start the day off right for my daughters 16th birthday (pandemic take out). Glad it was open to try a new place :). Staff was friendly, food was good, and the price was avg. We recommend to go in and try it!! Dont forget the strawberries on top! Thank you Sunset Grill!!

I went to Sunset Grill with my brothers on September 6, 2020 for the first time at the Sarnia location and the service was amazing. The owner was so wonderful and treated us like we were important and she was so friendly. The food was so yummy. The three of us were all amazed about the great service, food and atmosphere. We will definitely be going back. All the staff were amazing and the owner made a point to make sure that we had a great experience. Thank you to the owner Shirley and all the staff. I have never been to a breakfast place that charges extra for meat.. So you order a standard breakfast and have to order a side of meat?! Home fries were under seasoned and the bacon crumbled apart. Almost 20 dollars with a tip.. Wont go again. Waitress was nice atleast.

Went to Sunset Grill today for the first time and it was absolutely fantastic. The transformation of the space is phenomenal compared to what it used to be prior. The decor and feel is very light, classic and fresh. The prices were very low compared to the breakfast competitors in town. We were served by Michelle and she was very down to earth and friendly. We will definitely be back and will recommend to all of our friends. Keep up the great work!

So while I found the food good, the home fries did lack some flavour - they were just basic potatoes. But if you like basic potatoes, I think you would enjoy them (my sister isnt a potato person and she really enjoyed them). The hollandaise sauce was super yummy and I loved it. However, the service wasnt the greatest. We were seated right away, but it was about 10-15min before someone even came around for drink orders. We seen our waitress when she took our order, when she cleared our plates and when she brought the bill. The restaurant was full and appeared to only have maybe 3 waitresses. They seemed slighty unorganized. But it is a new restaurant and plenty of kinks to work out still so I will forsure try again in the future.

the food was bland and my potatoes and bacon were under cooked, the server gave use coffee when we asked for water and she almost gave us someone else s food, she was touching the food after touching money and didn t refill my drink until I was almost done my food. we waited 20 mins after we were done eating and ended up going to the counter because she never came by to give us the bill to take to the counter. I also saw someone pick something off the floor and not change their gloves and they touched the food. A little disappointed, the one in Toronto was great.

It was VERY loud. The waitress was unfamiliar with the menu. It took almost 45 minutes to get our food. They brought the wrong(and more expensive) item, and we didnt find out till we got the bill. Very unsatisfied.

I had the breakfast poutine and found it very salty. My wife had the waffles and was surprised to find that real maple syrup was extra, as well as whip cream. On a positive note the waitress was very good.
