This has been a great family diner thats been around since I was a child. Always has good food, friendly service and love the old school diner feel. Kid-friendliness: Have highchairs and many options for kids. Wheelchair accessibility: There is the ability to have a wheelchair in the diner.

Old school greasy spoon. This place gets insanely busy during the weekend, but the prices and the food are always good. During the week is the best time to go.

My family had wonderful time eating at the Cromwell!!! I had the liver with mashed potatoes and gravy! My wife the Turkey dinner she said was fantastic. She had all white meat with dressing with cranberry. Peter my son had the fish with French fries. We all had dessert. Great dinner!!! Plenty of parking and plenty tables to eat at! Best thing is the prices were the best I have seen! We will be back again!

My husband has been here for breakfast and enjoyed it. So he wanted to take me there but it was late lunchtime. We were not impressed with our lunch. My husband had the fish and chips ( btw the fries are quite good) But he was not impressed with the fish... hes had better. I had the butterfly shrimp and it was ok. It came with soup or salad (I had a salad)a roll ( which was about 1.5 x 1.5 in size) fries, veg (canned corn) and dessert...all puddings or ice cream...I chose trifle it was good...I took it home to eat. Now...when we arrived my husband went to wash his hands so when the server came she gave us water and I said hed be right back. So she said shed wait till he came back to tell us the specials. We sat there unserved for close to 15 min...the head server came by as I had put the menus on the end of the table...she asked if our order had been taken. No. She took the menus and said shed be right back. Then preceded to ask all the other servers (5 total) who had table 3. I think she should have done this in private...but it was very public. No one owned up to it but it was the server at the cash who came to our table first. After that the head server served us and the service was good. We will go here again for breakfast but not lunch or dinner.

For downtown dining, the Cromwell Grill is the only place to go!! For all your dining pleasures it simply cant be beat! The atmosphere is excellent, the food is very good, and the place is mobile access friendly!!! Parking: There is a municipal parking lot just west of the restaurant, I suggest you pay the nominal fee to ensure you dont get a 20.00 dollar ticket. Other than that, enjoy the courteous staff, and all the restaurant has to offer!!!

Worst service ever. No coffee or water or refill offered at all. Politely asked for a coffee refill after half an hour and a server cut me off to say they were short staffed. Our server seemed to be ignoring our table. Tables who came in after us received their food first. Our food came after 45 minutes. The side of fruit for $3.49 was 7 orange slices. Hash browns were delicious, but you can go elsewhere for actual service and most likely better prices.

Food was decent. Our waitress was fantastic. Very quick to take our orders and quick to accommodate any requests we had. The restaurant was quite busy when visiting so as far as the atmosphere, it was quite loud but take into account that we had gone on a Saturday morning.

Our first time visiting Cromwell Grill, although it was super busy, service was quick and it really didnt take long for our order..Food and service was wonderful..We will be back for sure..

Had my first breakfast at the Cromwell Grill and it was excellent. If it is consistent I wont eat breakfast anywhere else.

For years we have enjoyed a meal at the Cromwell Grill when we visited family in Sarnia. We have always been very happy with the food and service. On Saturday, December 30 we visited again. The food was still excellent but the wait staff needs some training in customer service. A rude attitude doesnt go very far when dealing with customers. Wheelchair accessibility: Bathrooms are definitely not wheelchair accessible . We have a family member who uses a wheelchair and the washroom should not be labeled as such

Weve been going here for a number of years now as it is my grandfathers favorite restaurant. Because of this, it has become my familys favorite place to eat in Sarnia as well.

Normally, Im a fan of this place, but my experience at the restaurant was dismal at best. My girlfriend and I were there for brunch. We were rudely addressed at the door when we walked in and asked for a table. Once we had a clean table, it took about 5 mins before a lady with colored hair ( I wont be specific ) threw 2 glasses of water down and a couple of menus and rushed off. We sat for probably 15 mins as we watched other tables get sat and their orders taken with drinks ( which we werent even asked about ). When I mentioned our problems, the waitress didnt even acknowledge. We persisted in watching them to dry cutlery, ring people up, and answers phone. This is when we had enough got up and walked out without anyone saying a thing. We went to Sophias and the restaurant was busier and had less staff. We had drinks and food in less time then our entire experience at this restaurant.

Classic diner atmosphere. Went there for breakfast, and the food is delicious , it was busy, and I still got my order and food in a reasonable time. I definitely will eat there again, and I definitely recommend it to anyone . Parking: Parking close to the restaurant is not going to be easy but its definitely worth the walk

What a great experience! Food was fantastic and plentiful. The gal who waited on us, long dark hair with black framed glasses, was friendly and extremely efficient! The restaurant was packed, but she was 100% on top of everything. Can hardly wait to back!

I am an 83 year old lady and today in downtown Sarnia at Cromwell Grill I was denied breakfast. It took me 1 and 1/2 hour to realize that the waitress will never bring the food to my table with no explanation. I was so humiliated and so unhappy. So I left the place. We were there for breakfast, which was very good. Food, service, cleanliness, was well above good or normal. It had been years since I was there and was great at that time. Apparently it is now under new ownership and has been freshly painted and moderately remodeled during the shutdown at the Covid 19 time.

The roast beef was really good. The corn was out of a can and the potatoes were out of a box,,,, instant. A real let down.

Bacon and eggs couldnt be better. 4 slices of strip bacon, correctly done over easy eggs, and had the hash browns with green onion that were fried with a satisfying brown crust.

I spotted this diner when I recently moved here. I always say you can tell a great diner/grill by their club sandwiches and breakfasts. Neither have disappointed. Its a busy spot where the locals go and has a homey feel to it.

The food was good, and so were the prices, but it is very loud and very busy. It was difficult to hear each other over the din. The staff were lovely but very clearly overworked, Ididnt see them have a chance to breathe. We waited nearly an hour for our breakfast, people had to sit down at tables with dirty dishes still on them, and several people complained about the wait. It might just be holiday traffic but I wouldnt go again unless it was dead.

Great breakfasts, great staff. I come here a lot. I love that when you order bacon and eggs, you dont get 2 really thin, pathetic slices like most places. Instead, you get 4 or so decent slices! Also, the hash browns are great. Ask for onions on there!

Food is great if you can get it. They dont answer phone calls. Two times Ive been there it took an hour + to receive breakfast. Unacceptable. Waitresses also do not check up on you, can verify this as Ive been there atleast 10 times. But the most recent was the last straw.

Friendly servers, helpful and kind. Food was good. Simple breakfast fare done well. Very large portions. The pancakes are the size of a dinner plate and they bring 3 with the order. Could totally share this between 2 people. The place was very busy so its clearly popular. We would go back.

What a great breakfast! I did not leave with an empty stomach...

Whenever I want to go out to eat I choose Cromwell Grill because the food is reasonably priced with large portions and delicious. And a wide variety to choose from. The service however is not good. Every time I go there the waitresses are rude, and they dont attend to your needs. For example today i went there with a friend. My friend had asked for two menus because i am in the bathroom and will be back. The waitress puts down only one menu. And when i returned to the table she did not give me a menu. Gives us dirty plastic cups of water and our cutlery. And then asks us what we want to order. I asked her if I could have a burger with everything on it and (extra pickles) along with a poutine. She did not ask me if I wanted anything else and was rushing my friend to order. My friend orders a breakfast combo with (eggs well done). When the food was rushed to our table, the waitress takes off as fast as possible avoiding any questions or requests. My friends eggs were runny not well done, and i didnt get any pickles. Asking the waitress as shes running off down the isle if i could have pickles. I had to ask her twice she pretended not to hear me the first time. She responded very rudely with the tone of her voice scrunching her face saying Pickles!?? With a long awkward silence she hesitantly said okay I will get you some pickles. Brings me a plate with one small end piece of a sliced pickle. Saying here is your one pickle . I was halfway done my burger by the time I got the pickle. I wanted extra pickles on my burger like i had ordered. I didnt care if there was an extra cost. My friend was too afraid to even ask in regards to her runny eggs . We also needed napkins, and managed to get through the meal with using the same napkin 7 or 8 times. That napkin looked so dirty, i was looking for a clean spot to wipe my mouth from the messy burger . Wasnt even that busy, just the waitress was moving quickly avoiding peoples requests around the room . Its always like this when I go there, It doesnt matter what waitress neither. Im always leaving there with a bad feeling about the service. But the food is so good, I keep coming back from time to time. Lol . I only wish the waitresses would listen more carefully to the customers needs when taking the orders. And ask us if we would like anything else. And come and check up on us at least twice during our meal; Just in case we might want something more. Maybe a dessert menu as well at then end of the meal. It would be nice to feel like Im having an experience rather than being rushed.

Cromwell Grill is my go to for breakfast. Portions are a great size, and the food is simply phenomenal to say the least. The wait Staff are very friendly, but are very very busy. Sometimes it takes a while to get your food, but it is well worth the wait! I HIGHLY recommend Cromwell Grill. A definite 5 Star.

Cromwell Grill is a hidden gem of Sarnia. Its been in operation for as long as I have been alive. With fair prices and generous portions Cromwell grill is a perfect place to bring a date or the family.

Classic diner fare. Fast service. Good was good. Take the shredded potatoes and onions. Waitress even sang for my girlfriends birthday.

I ordered the cheese omelet and it was cooked right, and the hash browns done just right.

This place was my favorite breakfast spot until my most recent experience. We waited over an hour for our food and the server seated a group of 8 after us and then our table became invisible. I had to ask for coffee refills and we ended up having to take the food to go due to the slow service and lack of priority of our table. I will not be coming back here and definitely not referring people to this establishment for breakfast.

I have enjoyed this place as long as I can remember . The service is always great , the atmosphere is comforting and very welcoming. Now the best part is the food. Breakfast, best in the City hands down. Clubhouse sandwhich , best in the city. The fries are like Bridge Fries and they use real turkey meat not lunch meat. Soups are always delicious and home made. Turkey dinner or roast beef and the liver and onions killer good. I have never had a bad meal. Its comfort food made fresh and well, good size portions and reasonable prices. Eat local and often you wont be disappointed.

Small breakfast place but food and service is better than the average breakfast places. The table we were was really cold as the AC vent just blows the air directly there.

I was just in today for lunch/supper and had two piece fish and chips. Delicious and very filling. One of the very best local family restaurants in the city. The breakfasts are the best. If you haven t been here yet, you totally got to try this place. Service is very prompt and the staff are amazing! Cromwell Grill is a great local restaurant. It s been a while since I ve been in but I made it and I look forward to another DELICIOUS meal! The food is DELICIOUS! Over 50 years in business and here s to a thousand more years in business and of success.

The food is great here, the prices are very fair for the amount they give you. Trying to order take-out is near impossible though. Every single time I try, I usually have to try and call for over an hour before anyone picks up.
