Lola's Lounge in Sarnia

My friend took me there, its a wonderful place, the venue is wonderful, the service impeccable and the food sublime, I recommend it to everyone.

Food

I am disappointed, angry at the service my family received last night. I left my name for the owner to contact me in regards to this and have not received a call. UNEXCEPTABLE to go out to a restaurant and spend that kind of money to be treated so poorly.

Lobster ravioli was over salted. Service was odd, the server kept referencing to the fact she had a wife and she could be a great father one day etc. We never asked or cared.

Excellent service, food is delicious, ample wine menu, they serve local brewed beer and the atmosphere is also great. Highly recommended

The salmon and lamb are really good. The portion was huge! Went for a date night and the vibes were good. Unique decorations although it feels abit outdated and gaudy, but that could be the appeal.

I was excited to show my friends my favourite restaurant in Sarnia and even drove two hours out of my way. I had moved my reservation up to an earlier time because the lady on the phone said it was slow and they were going to close early. When I arrived I order a rare steak and when I said that it was over cooked the waitress snatched my plate before I could grab my side of potatoes. I tried to flag her down multiple times but she continued to ignore me. It wasn t until everyone at the table had completely finished there meal when mine finally arrived. The plate was no longer appealing and was covered in whatever sauce and everything was cold. When I was ready to pay I personally didn t tip. As we walked out the waitress said under her breathe that I was no longer aloud there. When I addressed what was said and asked if it was because I didn t tip she laughed and said she didn t need my money. I have never felt so embarrassed at a restaurant and I am disappointed I use to call this my favourite place to eat in sarnia

Overpriced drinks for poor service, have to wait so long for order and to get bill and while serving no smile or even say thank you while paying bills.

The food is so good.... out of this world. The place is a bit dark for my liking but thats a miniscule factor. I ordered a dessert that comes with ice cream but they didnt have the ice cream to go with it... they told me if I wanted the dessert without the ice cream and I said yes, what surprised me was that when I got the bill I was charged full price for my dessert, well that in my opinion is wrong and fraudulent so Im disappointed for that hence my 3 review Ok so this below was the reply from what I assume is the owner Hi there, I m so sorry for the mixup, I chatted with girls about it and one server wrote dessert on the bill and the other server rang it in not knowing to take the 2 dollars off your bill .. I apologize for your experience. If I onwed the business I wouldve apologize with a simple please come back to our restaurant and we will gladly offer you a dessert of your choice at no cost.... hope to see you again

Great place to eat,drink and be merry

When you first walk in you try to guess the vibe of this place. It s a lounge with kooky decor, lovely servers and great food. We shared the baked Brie, so Yum!, the lamb lollipops were delicious. All portions were huge! I enjoyed my gnocchi, the Sicilian meatloaf was delicious and the beef ravioli. Definitely a must try here in Sarina!

Wow, so impressed with how many gluten free options there were. The food tasted amazing and the service was top notch. Sydney was a hoot and kept us laughing and well hydrated! We had the absolute best date night. Thanks for such a fun evening. We will be back next time we are in town!! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

Awesome meal and great atmosphere

For the amount you pay I expected the service to be more cordial.

This was my first time visiting Lolas. We went as a group of four co-workers to celebrate Christmas. We reserved our table well in advance of the date and really looked forward to the evening. The menu presentation is tacky and I suspect a remnant of COVID precautions. The food prices are very effective at reducing your appetite. From the beginning our evening was rushed. The restaurant is very loud and not very conducive to conversation but we made the best of it. We all ordered expensive main dishes and several alcoholic beverages. A few had dessert. We were still enjoying our drinks and when asked for the next round we were told we would have to leave because the table was reserved for someone else. Many of the tables around us arrived before we did and were still partying hard and there appeared to be no sign that they were being asked to pack up and end their evening early. I am extremely disappointed and offended by the treatment. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

What a great experience today at Lola s, thanks to Natasha! My sister and I enjoyed a lovely lunch and enjoyed amazing cuisine- Natasha was super, so friendly and accommodating, inspite of being suddenly super busy. We can t wait to return- bravo, Natasha!

Went here for the fist time for my birthday with my spouse and we both agreed that the food was amazing, relaxed atmosphere, great staff. We will definitely be back!

Had dinner there a couple of weeks ago. The signature dish Hotpot was not as good as it has been in the past. So much ginger in it was was too spicy to eat. We were disappointed in it. The Mussels Supreme could have a little more sauce but it was good. The service is always on point.

Had a wonderful dinner tonight! The food was great as usual but the service was superb! Natasha and Lindsay gave my family extra attention and made the night fun and special. So glad we chose Lola s to celebrate a special family birthday

The owner is an absolute gem of a human. The menu is smaller but not overwhelming which I appreciated. Every bite of food was delicious and presented beautifully. I can t wait to go back.

Pretty good food, decent service and a fun place to spend your time off. Its a fun night out or afternoon lunch with friends. The food is a bit more pricey than average, but not much. Its pretty reasonable for the quality. Good job!

We have only had the best experiences here. Never disappointed. Service is always friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Food is spectacular. The prices reflect the quality and weve never left without at least half of our meals. Portions are always generous. Sometimes you can just taste the difference when a chef or cook truly has a passion for their craft.

I have never left here unhappy, the restaurant itself is beautiful and a change compared to other restaurants in sarnia. The food is delicious and good portions. Highly recommend a reservation for dinner time though as seating is limited

The lamb rack is amazing, a must try if you like lamb. Oysters were great as well. Lovely spot.

Extravagantly designed, really unique in its decoration and the interior - top food, super nice service ..... absolutely recommended very good wines very good selection of drinks absolutely one of my favorite places in Sarnia thank you a big compliment to the entire team and to the kitchen I will miss you when I have to go back to Germany ! Please keep it up that is absolutely gigantic and cannot be found anywhere else in Sarnia - you are unique Even after 3 years, Lolas lounge is still consistent and very good when it comes to food, still 5 stars .... my absolute favorite restaurant in SARNIA .Thank you Tania.

I love this place. I was just driving through town and stumbled upon this spot. I had a wonderful ribeye. Their cocktail menu was fun, and their selection of alcohol also great. Most importantly it was a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.

Came on a recommendation a few weeks ago. Not sure wed be back. Our first experience was with a blonde hostess who was snide. Had thoughts of turning around and leaving, but thought to stick it out- shes a hostess and likely wouldnt be serving us. As soon as you enter, the ambiance suggests a unique, elevated restaurant, but the giant, plastic laminated breakfast diner menus tell the real story of where you are. The server we had was knowledgeable and friendly, but the starters ordered were on par with frozen appetizers from a grocery store aisle. The hot-pot was drenched in a heavy cream sauce, making it the only thing discernable in the dish and very soupy. Yes, we ate it all, because we were hungry, the food was actually edible and in a very short time, we knew that this was the intended quality of the restaurant and sending it back wasnt going to change anything, so it was better to finish and leave. The cocktails were imbalanced and much like the food, lacked any creativity or finesse and were drinks I could have made better at home. If youre going to charge premium prices for food and drink, then the quality of them should reflect that. We spent near $200 on food and drink that shouldnt have cost half that amount and thats not an exaggeration. This really could be alot better with more care and effort.

They undoubtedly make myself and my company feel the most welcome every time we visit. The menu is always mouth watering and exceptional. I recommend enjoying a drawn out dinner with their great cocktail menu. Dietary restrictions: Accommodation is an understatement.

Lola s never disappoints! I didn t stray from my usual Hot Pot, absolutely delicious. I don t usually order wine but we tried a bottle of cab sav and it was definitely one we will order again. We were able to book a 5:30 reservation on a Friday and walk down the street to the Imperial Theatre show See you soon!

My favourite sit-down restaurant in Sarnia - their Thai hot pot is so good I rarely order anything else!! Every other dish Ive tried (like the fried eggplant, for example) has also been awesome. Ive been coming here since I was a young teenager and have loved every meal. Ive often recommended Lolas to locals and out-of-town-ers alike and its always been a hit.

Nice old style lounge with a wonderful selection of cocktails, beers and beverages

Manager was awful. I ordered Gnocchi (which I ve had many times before) but it was extremely salty and I couldn t eat it. I had my friend try it as well and she agreed it was way to salty. I had 2-3 bites only. Management was refusing to even discount the gnocchi which was $30 and practically untouched. I finally spoke with her and she was extremely condescending and rude. The waitress who waited on us was wonderful though, she tried to help me as best she could and even apologized for the managements attitude. I feel bad that the staff has to work for her. Other than that, I love the restaurant itself, but she ruined our night.

I love the vibe and the ambiance in this place. Its very Speakeasy chic and relaxed. Sexy in a way. The food does not disappoint its so flavourful. Highly recommend! The lighting is green only cuz we were sitting underneath a green chandelier.

Well google reviews you arent doing justice to this restaurant. Exceptional food, and I cant understate how great it is. Sarnia food hasnt impressed until this location. The environment is fantastic and unique, and paired with a very warm group individuals, I would hands down say if you are going to eat somewhere... eat here.

the atmosphere is cool if you re older! there wasn t many drink options and all the food was just insanely expensive for the small portions. the one waitress was super nice but the waitress who was older wasn t very nice.. it was okay here, definitely a place for older people.

Yesterday evening, slow, innattentive staff. Oysters Rockefeller were smelly-old, jerk shrimp were still in the shell (with sauce on top, so how do you eat them without scraping the sauce off and then removing the shell yourself?) Meatballs, and Caesar salad were just okay. Not good.

Sorry, used to love this place but its not what it once was. Staff are trying(mostly) but cant handle a full house, service has suffered. Two of us sat at the bar on a busy Saturday. Ordered 4 shareable dishes, which all showed up at once. Oysters Rockefeller was a bit fishy. Ceaser salad was over-dressed and heavy on the anchovies. Ordered the feature appy, jerk shrimp and it came in a sauce(tasty) and covered in spices, garlic, etc....kind of like a paste. Sounds good right? Except they served it with the shell still on the shrimp! I thought it was an error but was informed that it was intentional, super weird! It means we needed to pick up the shrimp and peel off the intended flavoring/coating, the result was very messy and less flavorful than it could have been. Meatballs were delicious. I dont live in Sarnia anymore but always made a point to visit Lolas when in town. Ive sent friends and family many gift cards over the years too, but I dont think I can count on them to deliver the experience any longer. I wish Lolas well, I know times have been tough, but also encourage them to have an honest look at where theyre at today and where they could be. Change the burnt out bulbs and repair or remove the broken strings of twinkle lights, clean up the messy under-stocked bar. Maybe a fresh set of eyes would catch most of it. Update: So much for an honest inward look, blaming and dismissing the Customer in a response to the review seems to be the path forward for Lolas.

Decent food, Korean BBQ chicken skewers were alright. Entered at 730, didnt see drinks or water for nearly 10 minutes on a half full house. Even once the house started emptying waitress after waitress just walked by our table. Took overall 20 minutes to get proper drinks to the table. Ordered appatizers at the same time the drinks came didnt see them until almost 830. Mains came shortly after 9. Would not recommend the pill pill shrimp and chicken noodles, dish is simply oily and lacks any real flavor, the shrimp isnt seasoned and neither is the chicken. Alongside being just slightly overcooked. Finally the creme brulee for dessert, it has good flavor but the top was not brulee at all was gooey and in a very small bowl for 10$ would like a bit more Overall I expected some better service and better food in the end for the price and rating this place has seen. Would not recommend the main and dont really plan on coming back.

Amazing place!! The menu eclectic - a variety of dishes you don t ordinarily see on menus with no real theme but that s what s great. Prices a bit high but worth every cent for quality, quantity, presentation, care and taste! A gem this place is. Dining here is an experience and that s what you want. And the atmosphere - so, so cool. Go - you won t be disappointed. 5 stars easy!

Food is good there is no doubt about that. but after an honest mix up between the Brie and The Stuffed chicken breast with prosciutto and Brie the plate was sent back to the Kitchen and the servers made us feel very unwelcome and stupid. My wife was asking if the Brie was cooked as she pointed to The stuffed chicken breast with prosciutto and brie . This is because she is pregnant and it s not recommended to eat soft cheeses that are not cooked during pregnancy. Like I said an honest mistake I can see how we got sent the wrong dish. After we paid we we re chirped by the servers and felt pretty stupid. Won t be back again. Hope others have a better experience then we did.

Waited a year to go back up there it always reminded me of better times when I was at Lolas unfortunately service was absolutely the worst I left there depressed believe it or not Ill never go back there again

Not a fan of the build-your-own bruschetta appetizer but the service is great and food is delicious. Wife had the tenderloin, I had the rib eye, both of which we recommend. Really enjoy the atmosphere too. Well be back!

Finally tried Lola s for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Incredible vibe in the restaurant and the food was fantastic. My ribeye was cooked to perfection. Can t wait to go back.

I used to love this place, and I am extremely disappointed to post this. My spouse and myself were greated quickly as we had a reservation. While we were sitting we noticed a cup was visibility dirty and asked the waitress to bring a clean cup and she seemed upset with us that we asked, after so the owner came over who was very drunk, and at first I didnt think much of it until I saw her taking a Swig out of one of the bottles behide the bar. The services went downhill from here, when asked what we were going to have for dinner we told her we were going to have dessert, and she followed with youre not having dinner? In disgust. Afterwards, we received our food and we were never asked if we needed anything else we had to ask ourselves. By the end of our dessert we felt disrespected, disgusted and ignored. Just a side note; i really, really hope the owner does not put the bottle she was drinking out of goes back on the shelf, yes you bought the bottles but you have to stay within the health codes Violation guidelines within businesses, cmon now. I have been corrected as the real owner had reached out to me I which I appreciate; the woman who was drinking was an employee. Thank for caring. We really appreciate that

The food was delicious. I had the brie and prosciutto stuffed chicken over angel hair pasta. I would definitely have it again. Small place which makes it loud and difficult to manoeuvre through.

Great food and service

I go to lolas when I have a full wallet and an empty stomach. Dishes are inspired and well presented. Great for first dates, or to start a night out. I ve been for lunch on the patio and you get a good view of sarnias interesting locals.

What a wonderful little gem in Sarnia. We were visiting family and went to this place for some martinis. They were very good. We didnt have any food because we ate somewhere else. But from what I saw others having, it looked delicious! Next time we will try the food.

Excellent food great service

Went here 6 years ago, cost $120 for some wine bruchetta, and 6 oyster.... Aside from the wine everything was disgusting.. The bruchetta was cold and hard instead of warm and crunchy, the oysters were runny, almost snot like, so undercooked, and wow the ambiance in the place is so dark... Like seriously! Lose the red and add some light... Felt like i was eating in a cave!

One of my very favourite places in Sarnia. Good food, cheerful servers even in these harsh covid times. The East Coast Lobster Rolls are so yummy.

It is a very interesting experience. Food and customer service were great and I would definately recommend it! I am just not convinced that the ambience is great too. The light is blue, table are very closed each other, and it is really loud. It is really noise. It is definately not a place to go if you are looking for a romantic dinner for example, but to have fun with friends where the noise level will not bother you. Of course, in my opinion. You might not agree with me.

Food was very tasty, a little expensive. The restaurant is so small when a waitress pushed past me as I was leaving it caused me to bump into a table and knock over another couples wine bottle on their table.

Dish portions were really good tasty and fair priced! Atmosphere is really interesting and great customer care! I would come back ! The only thing I would have liked to see is more vegetarian dishes!

Overpriced food which server brought to the table obviously burnt and served anyway. When we pointed it out she said oh that is very burnt. All fries had been re-cooked and not fresh. Clam chowder was decent only one of 3 meals. Not acceptable for the price paid

First timer, and Id definitely return. Very weird underground vibe inside but the food is top notch. We started with the bruschetta, the break was perfectly toasted and soft inside while be smothered in garlic . I had the special which was a seafood extravaganza which included , scallops, , clams, and a cream sauce. The scallops were cooked perfectly, and the seafood was abundant. We also tried the hot pot which was a spicy pasta type Asian dish with some seafood. It was huge and delicious. Highly recommend and worth the $.

Amazing place...awesome food...feel good ambiance!

Excellent food and service. The decor is cool and unique. Lolas actually has a decently large menu, and so far I have only had positive experiences with the items on it. The stuffed chicken in particular is unreal. My only complaint is that I do not enjoy the lighting (it is dark with multicoloured lamps). Overall it is always a great experience eating at Lolas.

I have tried many, many things on this eclectic menu, as have my friends, and we have never been disappointed. From the ambience to the entrees and the charming servers, Lolas is my favourite restaurant in Sarnia.

Appetizers were very good as was the service.

Had supper at Lolas with a small group, highly recommend the hot Thai bowl (lots of food there) and their beer on tap. Will definitely be back for more.

Food was top notch. Would recommend trying to get a reservation for the first seating rather than the second. We were surrounded by 3 tables of loud intoxicated women which made the meal less enjoyable. Other than that, meal was really, really good!

It was our 28th wedding anniversary and we decided to dine at Lolas Lounge. I found the place small and cosy; but kind of outdated with an outrageously price menu and not much to account for in terms of quality and $14.00 margarita drink ouch! that did not deliver its flavour. Friendly staff , very loud loud place to have a nice relax dinner without hearing a large group patrons talking very very loudly ( no mask after finished dining) and thinking of COVID -19 particles dancing across to my table. My intuition warm me to keep mask on. I couldnt even hear the waitress when placing my order. When I made a brief comment on noise level I was told this is a very busy place. I asked for the empty booths but I was told they were reserved. We decided to have an appetizer and depart as fast as we could. But later waiters came back and offer us another table near the bar ( much quieter ); we decided to stay and order dinner. The lamb appetizer was great, however the $13 clam chowder, let me tell it should be call a potato chowder instead of clam chowder, perhaps the ALL the calms went back to the sea lol :(. The fish dinner (arctic char) $28.00 was tasty; on the other hand, the Tango Thai hot pot chicken and shrimp didnt delivered; price at $25 00; a large plate full of noodles with coconut milk sauce; 3 small shrimps , 4 VERY small pieces of chicken,( about an inch each) 8 small pieces of baby /young corn and 8 slices of watercress chestnut in other words the dish should be rename Lets Tango watercress corn baby ;too much baby corn and watercress chestnut Unfortunately, my dining experience did not exceeded my expectation.

Atmosphere is fun and upbeat! Great quality and quantity on food and portions! The tango thai extravaganza is amazing! Full of seafood crustaceans and enough for leftovers!

Great drinks, great food!!

The meal was very good but I cant say the same for the service. Our waitress tried to take our food away before we were finished twice. She even went to the extent to grab the fork out of one of my friends hands as she was setting it down. She then came along and wiped the table in between our dinner service with a soaking wet rag and swept the crumbs into my friends lap. Lolas is supposed to be a little bit of a higher class restaurant but the service was tacky and very unprofessional and I will not return. The restaurant was empty and she was trying to rush us out the door.

The food was fantastic. We had the hot pot and bruschetta with chèvre and both were delightful. The service was subpar and unacceptable. Our server was okay but there was another sever helping her and she was horrible. The blonde server that was helping was very rude, grabby, she even tried to take our plates while we were still eating and ripped my fork from my hand to clear the table. She also wiped our table down completely while we were still sitting there and entirely invaded my space forcing me to move so she could continue. While wiping the table she repeatedly brushed crumbs from the table onto my lap! If the service had been better I would go back. When trying to have a nice night out with friends I don t appreciate being treated poorly by staff. Not likely to return.

It wasnt terrible but frankly pretty mediocre food. I had a burger and fries. Fries were just soggy lumps and the burger was overcooked. The taste wasnt terrible but should have been way better. Decor is definitely set for a romance sort of thing. Seems like a good dating location. Maybe I just had the chef in training. Their menu is all over the map too. No consistent theme or coherency. Burger and fries or Korean BBQ ribs, pickeral and lam lollipops. Ive definitely had worse but wasnt impressed for the price.

Premium price without the premium flavor. Disappointed

Very different style, but loved it! The environment is so cozy, definitely unique Food was amazing, different from anything you have ever tasted. Picking what you are having from the menu is a hard task as there are several options that sound very good. Had a pasta that was just delicious, so did the beer on tap I had. They have large wine selection! One of the best dinner places I have been in a while. Very recommended, a true gem in Sarnia!

Its all about atmosphere ! And this place has it. Exceptional attention from very dedicated and longtime service staff. Of course the food never lets you down.....consistently delightful !

One of a kind atmosphere,great food made fresh for you,very attentive staff & the owner is a hoot! ...they all really care that you & your company have the best time ever! Prices were fairly good too.
