Shelby's Legendary Shawarma - Sarnia in Sarnia

I just don t know what the hype is about. I have eaten a lot of shawarma before and this is one of the worst places to have it, because it s just a bland shawarma with some off putting sides that doesn t go really good with a shawarma.

. Delicious! Strongly recommend the spicy version of garlic.

Food looked amazing online. Went in for pickup . Nice , hip place. I don t usually do reviews . Staff was great . I ordered the shawarma bowl , beef and lamb with extra meat . I found there was barely any meat at all. Seemed like not enough even for regular order. My stomach was upset last night and this morning. Multiple times to washroom . I m not trying to cause grief for this business, but when I m not getting any meat for a $27 Bowl and stuck in the washroom 4 times I m going to say something !!!

Extremely Disappointing I was really looking forward to trying Shelby s after seeing some videos, but the experience was a complete letdown. I ordered a falafel wrap and a shawarma, and both were far below expectations. The wraps were poorly made the bread had a strange aftertaste with a noticeable bitterness, which ruined the overall flavor. It s baffling why they don t use authentic pita or khabus bread, which would have been much better. The falafel was dry and lacked the vibrant flavor and texture you d expect. It felt like it had been sitting out for a while, with no freshness at all. The chicken in the shawarma was equally disappointing hard, dry, and far from fresh. It was tough to chew and didn t have the juicy, flavorful profile that makes a good shawarma. With all the hype, I expected much better, but the food was mediocre at best and completely failed to deliver on quality. I won t be returning or recommending Shelby s based on this experience.

Can get into parking lot from back street or front of building. Kid-friendliness: Brought 3 yr old niece and she loved the food! Limited seating but space was available when we came.

Embarassing, the chicken was fatty, garlic sauce tasted off and yogurt / ranch like, and bread is not saj, pretend saj sure maybe...you have given me the confidence to open my own place, yours will close the day after I open mine. Good luck to you surviving in the meantime.

Food was decent, nothing really special, just another shawarma. The vegetables were freshly cut and the lamb and chicken were also good. The staff at the front were also very polite. But then again there is nothing that stands out from other middle Eastern restaurants Ive been too. Its a good place to grab a quick bite if you dont have time

Shawarma was just okay but the rice meal was really good. Kunafa was kinda mushy, not like the original.

I had a wonderful experience while trying their Bacon Ceasar wrap ( chicken/beef Mix ). The ingredients were fresh, and the protein portion was topped up to the max. The owner was quiet, friendly, and generous. Highly recommend to all shawarma lovers.

Was my first time here today! If you do not want a flavour punch in your mouth, avoid here at all costs. SUCH amazing flavour and HUGE portions. I can save half of my wrap for tomorrows lunch. Excellent customer service and a great atmosphere. Will be back :)

I just moved here from Hamilton and was delighted to hear the was a Shelby s here. I have ordered from them several times now and the food has always been amazing. Hoping they stick around for a long time because we love their food!

Tried Shelbys for the first time today.. ate in but its really more of a takeout place.. the food was soo good and the portions very generous.. I ate all I could eat and still had lots to take home to share with hubby for dinner.. highly recommend Shelbys!!

I ordered a shawarma with little changes to the original recipe. They did absolutely good job making the exact same way that i wanted and It tasted amazing. Ordering there again!

There s multiple different reasons as to why I ll never eat at this place ever again. Allow me to list them. - Their boutine is the furthest thing from fries, gravy and cheese as I ve ever seen. Their boutine sauce does not complement the fries anymore than it complements the feta garnish or garlic sauce that it s topped with. Tomato soup is what I liken the dish to. - I got their Bacon Caesar shawarma wrap which in theory makes you go they can t possibly mess up exploring this option as a dish . This place proved to me that 1+1 does not always equal 2. Caesar shawarma on its own sounds like a match made in heaven. Putting it in a wrap should ve been a slam dunk. This was absolutely not the case. The chicken was as bland as could be. Standard chicken shawarma has more taste so I m not sure how they manage to have the chicken in their Caesar wrap taste this emotionless. No depth what so ever. Just cardboard in a wrap. The Caesar dressing itself has very few redeemable qualities but not enough to carry this wrap on its shoulders. As with the croutons and bacon. The wrap itself is grilled after assembly which again, 2 points for gryfindor, but somehow they even manage to mess that up. All I taste is grill marks and charred flour resulting in a bitter atmosphere that even the Caesar couldn t save. Overall: 2 out of 10

Wanted to come ever since seeing their videos on YouTube! Amazing food, great service. This particular one is a little small and hot but still a wonderful lunch!

I flew in all the way from Louisiana down in the US to witness the grand obening, to meet Shawarma Man himself, and see if I can see if the social media hype was worth it. I had the honor of being the first customer in line for the grand obening and meeting the CEO as well as the Shawarma Man himself. I will say this: I have never liked shawarma in America. It s just nowhere near as good as the shawarma in the Middle East. But after trying Shelby s, this is definitely the best shawarma I ve ever had and closest to the true Middle-Eastern style shawarma!! It was so good that by the way, I tried them out again later that day in Niagara Falls for dinner! I am now in love with y all s food and I sure hope yall expand down to the US soon! Keep it up y all!!!

Food was meh for the price. Need to put a massive timer in the store so you know how long youre going to wait for your food or what position you are in the queue. Store could be empty and you still might have to wait 30min or more for food because of online orders.

I recently tried Shelbys shawarma and was thoroughly impressed by their chicken shawarma. The portion size was generous, making it a satisfying meal. Good atmosphere and friendly staffs.

First bite brought tears to my eyes. Perfect flavours, fresh and delicious, served quickly and with a smile. Does Sarnia deserve Shelbys? Probably not but Shelbys definitely deserves your patronage. Yalla! PS Parking in the back!

The shawarma was delicious and management did an amazing job accomadating me, it was refreshing to see management stand by their product and accomodate their customer with a positive/friendly attitude.

The place looks pretty sharp ill say that. I was excited to try this famous schwarma. I got the chicken bowl and it was sub par. They offer fries instead of potatoes and the flavor just wasnt there. The bowl it came in was too small and the food which their was plenty of, ends up in a mixed up mess. Maybe this franchise was famous before the expansion but this is a glorified food joint at best. Theres better in Sarnia. The best Ive had in Canada is in Cornwall. Shwarma on Wheels. Check it out if you get a chance. Thats the real deal.

Have been to Shelbys Sarnia location 3 times now, and it has become our favourite weekly take out treat. Each time, the food has been amazing; by far the best I have had since leaving the GTA. The owner and staff have gone out of their way to give a good customer experience, and they make you feel valued as a customer.

I was so disappointed. I live close by and was really excited about it opening. I ordered the chicken schwarma bowl and couldn t find the chicken. There were a few very very small pieces. I tried to call but they have an automated phone system for the chain. All I can say positive is the delivery was early.

Have been a regular to Shelbys Windsor. Shelbys Sarnia is a new branch and full of energy as you walk in. Visited twice on my visit to Sarnia. I love their Fresh Pita Wraps with Bebsi. I would recommend their chicken and beef legendary wraps.The meat is really juicy and tender.

Although my bowl was DELICIOUS! My husbands shawarma was terrible. We also got the halloumi sticks, they were served over gross old lettuce that become hot and stuck to cheese. Ordered a side of tahini sauce which was flavours less. Not worth the hype.

One of the best restaurants ive had to date. Amazing food that you feel warm and happy after eating. The spiciness doesnt overwhelm you and the sauce was to die for. The staff were nice and had smiles the entire time. The atmosphere felt engaging and comical with fun pictures, and things to do. Had a mix of Middle Eastern, Canadian, Indian, Mexican food. Will definantly stop here again

Was excited to try another shawarma place in town. First order on opening day gf got a regular chicken wrap and I got the legendary. Dont bother getting boned by getting the upgraded legendary since they had the exact same amount of ingredients in it and were the same weight. Plus they use fries as cheap filler.. What shawarma has fries inside?? The fries I got on the side however never showed up.. The second time we ordered we asked for no fries in the shawarma and add pickled turnips. They still put the fries inside and added no turnips. Reading is hard. Gotta travel out of Sarnia to get a decent shawarma wrap folks. Edit: July 14th. Shelbys responded to the review. Subsequently I followed the link provided by them to submit my contact info about a week ago.. never heard a thing back.

Wow! Not since living in Calgary some years back have I had a shawarma this good. Honestly, this may be the best one I have had! The service was fast, and the staff I dealt with were friendly! I am so glad Shelbys has arrived in Sarnia!

Had the most amazing poutine thing, my god it was incredible!

I recently dined at this Shelbys Shawarma, and it was fantastic! The legendary shawarma bowl was packed with tender, flavorful meat, fresh vegetables, and perfectly cooked rice. The spicy garlic and sauces added an amazing kick. The portions were generous, and the staff were friendly and the atmosphere is awesome, making for a great dining experience.

We experienced Shelbys in Sarnia and we are so glad we did. Everything we ordered hit the spot and everyone was very kind and welcoming! We thoroughly enjoyed and laughed at their little jokes and added personality sprinkled throughout the restaurant and their packaging! Would definitely recommend to a friend and come back! I had falafel shawarma bowl it s was almost fulfilling for two people. Experience was really good. Just got the best place for shawarma in sarnia.

It s not great. Ordered twice now. Second time was a second chance. The chicken is very very dry. What the heck is with the fries in the shawarmas?! What can t put in chicken?! That s basically robbing the customer of what they have paid for. All the sides are from a bag. Nothing is fresh. Not worth what they charge. Won t order ever again.

Ordered one falafel wrap fatush salad with dressing on side. I got lettuce and chips in a bowl with dressing on it, i think they forgot the fatush part. No way to contact them unless you go back to store.

I was super excited to see Shelby s coming to Sarnia, as I used to love going to the downtown London location. The problem is, the 2 times I got it here since opening, the chicken has been unbelievably fatty. I understand a fatty piece here and there, but I literally had to spit out or remove over 50% of the actual protein in the bowl. Quite disappointing. Not going to pay that much for chicken fat.

Loved the open kitchen atmosphere at Shelbys! A friend recommended me to this place and I was really happy with the experience and the food! The traditional legendary brotein wrap with beef and lamb is a must-have and the wait time was fairly minimal! Just wish they had a bit more room inside the restaurant to sit and enjoy your meal, but overall a really good experience. Thank you Shelbys!
